HOLLYS CAFE VLOG FILIMING: solo COUNT: 737 words
his first solo gig. no fellow anything--just a crew and whatever charisma a much more confident dowoon had convinced the casting agents he had. he knows he shouldn’t be as nervous as he is as he arrives at the filming location. they chose him out of however many people had auditioned, saw promise in whatever he had done. he remembered how excited he was for this audition--thought it was made for him when he read the casting call.
god couldn’t have given him a better first step into the modeling world. this being his first opportunity, he had a lot of hope for what the future held for him. of course, his focus was always on type zero--establishing their name and getting them out of the dreaded 2nd place spot (that they seemed to be their home as of late) as soon as possible. if being apart of this campaign could help them grow and achieve all they wanted, he was even more eager to do it.
“hmm, i’m not sure what i want to choose.” he said to the camera, tapping his chin as he considered the menu. “summer time is coming up, maybe i could do something refreshing for the drink? i do really like coffee though...maybe a latte would be good?” he thought aloud as he looked at the drinks. he tried a few of their lattes, knowing those would fit his personal tastes well. then, he moved onto more of their refreshing drinks. “ooh this jeje honey tea is delicious! this could be a front runner” he said aloud, reacting brightly to the tea.
transitioning to the food items he quickly noted on one of the standout, “an egg mayo sandwhich...? i’ve never heard of that.” he looked a little concerned, but took a bite of the sample. his facial expression changed, more delighted than disgusted. “that’s actually not bad--it’s kind of good!” he considered the other options, “but i think my fans know i’m more sweet than savory” he joked, looking at the sweet items. “ooh a chocolate chip cookie! you can never go wrong with a chocolate chip cookie, can you? hmm...but strawberry cookie cake sounds good as well!” he considered aloud, “there are too many good options! how will i decide?” he said frustrated at having to chose just one food and drink.
breathing, moving his hands down to calm himself. “ok, everyone, we can do this. what’s important--they should pair well together, shouldn’t they?” he said to the camera, before looking back at his options. deciding that sorting his favorites with what he thought would go well together, he paired the mint chocolate latte he tried with the american chocolate chunk cookie and set them aside. then, he put jeju hanrabong honey tea and strawberry cookie cake together and set them aside. finally (after some deliberation, where he last minute switched one drink for another) he paired cold brew latte with the red velvet macroon. he looked confident, satisified with his choices as he let himself sigh in relief. “now with them sorted i just have to pick which pair...” a look of defeat once again spread over his face as he realized he liked all of the combinations together. he looked dead at the camera, “why is this so hard!?”
after much deliberation, all said out loud for (hopefully) the enjoyment of viewers, he said, “i think i know which one--could someone help me put this apron up?” he asked the staff behind the camera with big puppy dog eyes--who graciously got up and held the apron in front of where he was hiding his final choice. “drumroll...” he tapped the table lightly but with enough force to make some noise. he smiled sweetly, greatly satisfied the staff were putting him with his antics, “tada!” he said and they followed the queue to drop the apron and showed off his set, “mint chocolate latte and chocolate chunk cookie! aka the chOHcolatte set!” feeling the need to further explain he pointed to himself, “because my family name is oh and” pointing at the latte “it’s a latte..you get it right?” he laughed, cringing at himself.
“thank you all for tuning in and make sure to stop by holly’s cafe and get my set! or if you don’t like this set, get something else! there is a reason i could barely make a decision--all of their menu items are delicious.”

BAP Reaction: You are cute and small (Mafia au)
Yongguk: After a long and tiring day of running a mafia group, he couldn’t wait to get home. Not only was the work day done, but he got to go home to his cute little girlfriend. As soon as he closed the front door, and locking it, he heard footsteps rushing towards him. “You’re home!!!” you screamed and jumped into his arms. He easily caught your small body and smiled widely. “I love it when do this” He said, looking down at you. “I know!” You smiled at him, “That’s why I do it.” Yongguk kissed your forehead before heading to the kitchen with you in his arms
Tumblr media
Himchan: When the sun rays hit his face, he slowly woke up and found your spot next to him empty. He looked around the room confused, but when he smelled food coming from downstairs, he smiled to himself. How did the 2nd in command of a mafia group ever get a cute girlfriend? Himchan went downstairs and saw you placing a plate of pancakes and a cup of coffee on the table. You looked up and smiled brightly. “I made you your favorite pancakes!” You squealed and bounced excitedly. He chuckled and gave you a hug. “Thank you for being the best girlfriend ever” He kissed your cheek. When he sat down to begin eating with you, he saw that his coffee was still black. He looked up at you and you blushed looking down, “I couldn’t reach the sugar...” Himchan broke out laughing right there.
Tumblr media
Daehyun: You knew Daehyun was going to be out for a while so you decided to get some work done around the house. You put on one of his shirts, some shorts, and your hair back. With your favorite playlist on, you began cleaning the downstairs first. Within 30 minutes, the dishes were clean, the kitchen was clean, and now you were in the middle of sweeping the living room floor. Your most favorite song came and you knew you had to jam out to it. With the broom now a microphone, you began singing into it with all of your soul. Daehyun entered the living room in the middle of your “performance” and decided to stay quiet and watch you with a big smile. After being worried if a job was going smoothly, this is what he definitely needed.
Tumblr media
Youngjae: As the hacker of a mafia group, he was constantly on the computer to make sure no one got into their computers and saw their illegal work. He had been on the computer for about 4 hours and within those hours, you came in gave him some food, drinks, some snacks, and a blanket. You came in again and this time, gave him a back hug and kiss on the cheek. Before you left, Yongjae grabbed your hand and had you sit on his lap. He gave you a kiss on the lips before smiling at you. “How did I get so lucky to have a caring girlfriend that fits perfectly on my lap?” You giggled and kissed him again before watching him work.
Tumblr media
Jongup: Many would describe Jongup as quiet, mysterious, reserved, and most of all hella scary. He sometimes got a kick out of killing people and never minded getting his hands dirty during a job. However, that all stopped when he met you. This small, cute, pure girl that he fell in love with. One night, after a long trade, he came in and was instantly greeted with the smell of chocolate chip cookies. Jongup went into the kitchen and wrapped his arms around your waist as you were putting the last batch on a tray to cool. You smiled at him, “I made enough for your team” You beamed. However, he shook his head, “They don’t get any. They’re all mine.” You giggled and feed him a cookie then kissed his cheek.
Tumblr media
Zelo: He was young when he joined the mafia and is still pretty young to this day. He went through some tough training physically, mentally, and emotionally. After all, you had to be prepared for anything in the mafia. However, no matter how strong he was, he knew he couldn’t last much longer. Zelo was watching his small girlfriend struggle to reach the mixing bowl while she stuck her tongue out and mumbled about how short she is. He broke out laughing and went over to hand her the bowl. “How long have you watching me!?” You asked as he handed you the bowl. “A while, you’re just so cute!” He chuckled as you pouted, which he kissed and now both of you were smiling.

Day One: In the books!
Day one is finished. I am just now wrapping up for bed time, and BOY OH BOY, I am EXHAUSTED!
Seeing as this is day one, I have not quite figured out how these daily posts will be formatted... BUT hey! Let’s go with it! I will let you know what I ate as my five OPTAVIA Meal Replacements (OMR for short) and I will rate each OMR with one to five stars with a little explanation as to why. I will so let you know what my “Lean & Green” (L&G for short) meal was and if I have a link to the recipe, I will DEFINITELY link it up! Sharing is caring, am I right?!
Today was rough. Definitely not as bad as I though it would be, but not easy for sure. I kept to my very strict food schedule for the most part and ate every three hours. NOT EASY! But I kept going and didn’t slip up once! 😊 And that, right there is such a proud moment for me!
Tumblr media
Let me get right to the nitty gritty, WHAT DID I EAT!?!
7 AM - Breakfast - Creamy Chocolate Shake (mixed with water & ice only)
This was a normal Meal Replacement Shake. Nothing TOO special about it. I will say, it did not leave my mouth feeling chalky or leave a nasty after taste. ⭐⭐⭐
10 AM - 2nd Breakfast - Silky Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip Bar
Exactly what it sounds like and it was very similar to a peanut butter cookie with chocolate chips. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
1 PM - Lunch - Rustic Tomato Penne Pasta
Okay, first off, I have a slight allergy to tomatoes... SO this already was a red flag for me. The picture on the box... 🤢 It did not taste as bad as I thought it would, but with that said, I already asked my mom if she wanted to trade for it... ⭐⭐
4 PM - 2nd Lunch - Jalapeno Cheddar Popper Puffs
I waited ALL day for this OMR! Jalapeno poppers are one of my FAVORITE foods. I saw these in my box and just about keeled over. At first taste, I was severely disappointed. There was not enough heat, not enough flavor, not enough JALAPENO POPPER! However, there were a LOT of them in that little bag. By the end of the bag, I was in love with them! (Not gunna lie, I definitely went to the store and bought Jalapeno Hot Pepper sauce to add some heat to them!) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
6:30 PM - L&G Meal  - Lemon & Caper Chicken with sauteed Spinach and mushrooms
This recipe was taken right out of the book that came with the program and it immediately caught my eye. I love me some Chicken Piccata and this was close and oh so GOOD! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
9:30 PM - Dessert - Decadent Chocolate Brownie with Greek Yogurt Chips
Well, this was okay. Not very filling, but if you are a chocolate fan, it might hit the spot... I enjoyed the Yogurt Chips! ⭐⭐⭐
I did end up eating an optional snack of 2 celery stalks (one at 11:30 AM and another at 3 PM to help tide me over and keep me from getting HANGRY). I was SUPER lucky I made a point to bring celery with me to work! If I hadn’t I do not know what I would have done. I also made sure to drink all 64 oz of water and that in-and-of-itself is another major win!
All-in-all, today was a MAJOR success for me. It was hard, but I kept to it and I am excited for tomorrow.

The Seattle Takeout Window Guide added to Google Docs
The Seattle Takeout Window Guide
Many great things came from the invention of the window - curtains, Microsoft’s logo, feeling a breeze while indoors, the boombox scene from Say Anything. But maybe the best byproducts are all of the takeout windows that restaurants have set up in Seattle. At first, we didn’t know why there are so many walk-up windows in this town. But seeing as contact-free transactions are now a way of life, we’re very glad to have them. If you’d like to grab something delicious without stepping foot into a restaurant, know that you have options (20 of them to be exact).
For even more ways to eat great while staying home, check out our Neighborhood Delivery & Takeout Directory and Restaurants With New Takeout & Delivery Specials.
Sorry—looks like you screwed up that email address

Want to quickly find restaurants on the go? Download The Infatuation app.   THE SPOTS  Jeepney $ $ $ $ Bar Food ,  Southeast Asian  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1356 E Olive Way
Jeepney is one of our favorite takeout windows in the city, especially when it comes to getting some late-night food. And even though hours have been reduced, this Filipino spot is still open until 10pm most days. All of the mains here come in the form of a sandwich, rice bowl, or loaded fries. The best thing, though, is the marinated steak tapa with Velveeta. But if you’re trying to eat more vegetables, the mushrooms with grilled paneer is also a winner.
 Carmelo’s Tacos $ $ $ $ Mexican $$$$ 110 Summit Ave E
We wish that Carmelo’s could climb up to our window with a ladder like Sam did in Clarissa Explains It All, but we’ll happily go directly to this Capitol Hill spot for this incredible Mexican food. The tortillas are thick and homemade, the carne asada is seasoned with some delicious spices, and we still think longingly about the chorizo/potato/cactus taco filling. And if you like a cheesy burrito, Carmelo’s sears cheese briefly on the flat top grill before adding it to the mix.
 Mean Sandwich $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Deli  in  Ballard $$$$ 1510 NW Leary Way
Mean Sandwich’s takeout window is really more like a takeout doggie door, but if you ask us (or a pomeranian with an affinity for cold cuts), it definitely counts. This classic deli from an alternate dimension serves sandwiches like corned beef topped with maple syrup and mint or sardines with celery root slaw and lemon-pepper mayo. Not to mention they have some incredible deep-fried baked potato hunks. All you have to do is place your order online, show up to the front of the restaurant, and they will slide a crate with your food through the doggie door.
 Homer $ $ $ $ Mediterranean  in  Beacon Hill $$$$ 3013 Beacon Ave S
Homer is a full-service restaurant with lots of tasty Mediterranean mezze (and some incredible roasted chicken). But if you just want some after-dinner ice cream or a treat for the car while you’re grabbing takeout, stop by their adjoining soft-serve window. Flavors range from chocolate bay leaf to vegan salted strawberry, and all of the flavors work well if you get them swirled together in your cone or cup.
 Julia Chen Mezcaleria Oaxaca $ $ $ $ Mexican  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 422 E Pine St
Every summer before 2020, Mezcaleria Oaxaca’s rooftop was a guaranteed party. Now that you can only really party at home, there’s no reason you can’t celebrate with the same tacos and margaritas. Just order online in advance, and swing by their window on Summit Ave. to pick it up. Don’t forget to add on an order of fresh churros.
 Un Bien $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Caribbean  in  Ballard $$$$ 6226 Seaview Ave NW
You probably already know about Un Bien and the outstanding and very messy Caribbean roast pork sandwich. You should also know that one of their locations is near Golden Gardens, and makes for a great (if not also messy) thing to pick up before socially-distant beach picnic. Make sure to get the fire-roasted corn as a side, and if you want something besides the roast pork sandwich, the grilled chicken is super tender and full of flavor.
 Hello Robin $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 522 19th Ave E
In addition to selling plain scoops out of a window, Hello Robin also has ice cream sandwiches made with homemade cookies. Choosing between flavors like birthday cake and whole wheat chocolate chip with flaky salt will be the hardest decision you make today.
Manu's Tacos $$$$ 240 2nd Ave S.
Manu’s Tacos is the sister spot to Manu’s Bodega and Gold Bar, so you know that you’re in good hands here with chicken tinga, pineapple pork, beef birria, or vegetables piled into tortillas. They’re also selling homemade horchata, hibiscus tea, and taco kits that feed up to six people if you have a large household.
 Dingfelder’s Delicatessen $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Deli  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1318 E Pine St
Dingfelder’s sells massive pastrami sandwiches from an open window on Capitol Hill. They also have matzo ball soup, egg salad, tasty half-sour pickles, and other things that you maybe had for lunch the last time you were in New York. It might not be located on the East Coast, but if you’re in the mood for a kosher sandwich so tall that you need a strategy to eat it, this is the place.
 Kedai Makan $ $ $ $ Southeast Asian ,  Malaysian  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1802 Bellevue Ave
Before they became one of our favorite restaurants in the city, this outstanding Malaysian spot originally operated solely as a takeout window. They’re bringing it back at their Capitol Hill location from 4-9pm Wednesday-Sunday, and you can expect the same dishes that make you smile, like eggy net bread with lamb curry, pan mee noodles with mushrooms, chili turmeric chicken, and their signature tofu fried rice with crispy shallots.
 Pie Bar Ballard $ $ $ $ American ,  Dessert  in  Ballard $$$$ 2218 NW Market St
Both locations of Pie Bar (in Ballard and Capitol Hill) have takeout windows, but the Ballard location exclusively has cookies and cream pie, which you should go out of your way for. It’s perfect for those moments in quarantine when your fridge is empty and you find yourself throwing your hands up and yelling, “F*ck it, I’m eating pie for dinner.”
 Big Mario's Pizza $ $ $ $ Pizza  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1009 E Pike St
The experience of waiting for a late-night slice at Big Mario’s used to be a sloppier mess than your first big high school house party. It’s calmed down since the concept of bar-hopping isn’t really a thing right now, but it’s still open, and a solid place for some pepperoni pizza if you need a quick meal.
Agua Verde Cafe $ $ $ $ Mexican  in  University District $$$$ 1303 NE Boat St
The coconut tempura fish cod taco from Agua Verde is one of those things we can’t go a summer without, and it’s available (along with lots of terrific Mexican dishes) through this Lake Union spot’s takeout window. They’ve also started canning their prickly pear margarita, which makes us very happy.
 Mamnoon Street $ $ $ $ Middle Eastern  in  South Lake Union $$$$ 2020 6th Ave
Mamnoon Street’s falafel sandwich hits the spot, especially after a hike or any other kind of physical activity, including walking around the corner. The homemade flatbread, tahini, and pickled turnips make this wrap better than the sum of its parts, even though the parts are pretty damn great. Add an order of spicy fries with za’atar mayo and/or a mint lemonade.
 Westman’s Bagel and Coffee $ $ $ $ American ,  Deli ,  Cafe/Bakery  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1509 E Madidon St
Westman’s is pretty much just a narrow garage, but you can also think of it as a really, really big window. It’s a great breakfast option for lox and cream cheese bagel sandwiches, and you can order online in advance. No matter what, always remember to get some pastries. From babka rolls to tahini cookies, they’re all fantastic.
Sexy Alley Puffy Tacos $ $ $ $ Mexican  in  Ballard $$$$ 2317 NW Market At
A puffy taco is just like a regular taco, except the shell is part-tortilla, part-flotation device. They’re perfect if you love corn tortillas but wish that they were just a little softer and fluffier. Sexy Alley also sells tortas, burritos, and fun to-go cocktails in pouches.
 Coyle's Bakeshop $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery  in  Greenwood $$$$ 4252 Fremont Ave N
If you’re interested in buying bread but don’t want to go to the grocery store, Coyle’s has a pickup window where you can show up to grab preordered sourdough, scones, cake, jam, tarts, cookies, granola, bags of coffee, and our absolute favorite thing from Coyle’s - the cretzel. It’s 50% croissant, 50% pretzel, and 100% guaranteed to make you happy.
 Pick-Quick Drive In $ $ $ $ American ,  Burgers  in  SoDo $$$$ 2990 4th Ave S
If you’re looking for a drive-thru window, go to Pick Quick for lunch. It’s an old-school, fast-food spot with burgers, fries, and ice cream cones that are better than the ones at Dick’s. You could also pay for the whole meal with the rumpled singles you found in your pants pockets while doing laundry.
The White Swan Public House $ $ $ $ American ,  Seafood  in  South Lake Union $$$$ 1001 Fairview Ave N
Even if you’re grabbing something quick to take back home, it doesn’t mean you can’t also get a great view of Lake Union. That’s where White Swan comes in - it’s right on the water, and they serve some great seafood. Options range from cornmeal-crusted cod and chips to a fishwich BLT, and you can call your order in if you’d like (their number is 206-588-2680).
Yalla $$$$ 1510 E Olive Way
Yalla is a great takeout window that serves Middle Eastern wraps on homemade flatbread filled with everything from lamb and pomegranate molasses to za’atar and labneh. But if they have the cheesy kefta sandwich on special, you’re going to want that, especially with a nice side of crispy falafel. And if you’re also looking to bulk up your pantry, they sell olive oil, spices, and tahini.

Note
You should do the even numbers!
2. Are you outgoing or shy?
-It really just depends. If I’m meeting you for the first time or I’m in a situation/place where I do not feel comfortable, I am shy. But once I get to know and i’m in my element, I can be very outgoing
4. Are you easy to get along with?
-I think I am very easy to get along with. I am very chill and laid back, so as long as you aren’t super problematic (in which case you probably would find me not so easy to get along with cuz i’m not one to just let things slide), then we’d get along just peachy :)
6. What kind of people are you attracted to?
-Oh jeez…this is kind of hard because I don’t think I necessarily have a “type”. I guess you just have to be a decent person and share similar views with me. It’s not that I need someone to have the carbon copy beliefs that I do, but they do need to be in the same ballpark because people’s morals and convictions are a huge part of who they are and something that is very important to me
8. Who from the opposite gender is on your mind?
-Uhhh…I guess one of my coworkers?? Just because he’s the last male i’ve talked to lol
10. Who was the last person you had a deep conversation with?
-Strange thing but i actually had an old classmate from high school message me the either day…literally haven’t seen or talked to her since HS graduation which was 8 years ago (god i feel so old). Anyway, I liked a politically charged post she put on Facebook and that started a late-night, really in depth conversation between us
12. What are your 5 favorite songs right now?
- 1) No Promises-Cheat Codes feat. Demi Lovato, 2) Wish I Knew You-The Revivalists, 3) Feel It Still-Portugal. The Man, 4) Slow Hands-Niall Horan, 5) What About Us-Pink
14. Do you believe in luck and miracles?
-Yes and no, I think some things happen by chance but for the most part, more is in our control than we realize
16. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
-Yes
18. Do you still talk to your first crush?
-No
20. Do you like your neighbors?
-I can’t say I talk to them much but they don’t cause problems so they’re good lol
22. Where would you like to travel?
-Europe is definitely on my bucket list
24. Favorite part of your daily routine?
-When I get to leave work! Lol
26. What do you do when you wake up?
-Well at the risk of TMI, the very first thing I usually do when I wake up is pee lol. But then I normally eat breakfast
28. Who are you most comfortable around?
-Comfortable? What’s that? Lol. Uhmm…my best friend probably
30. Do you ever want to get married?
-Probably not. If I ever find my someone and they really wanted to get married I would, but it’s not necessarily a dream or want/need of mine
32. Which celebrities would you have a threesome with?
-Like if I could have a threesome, which two celebrities would I pick? Or what celebrities would I have a threesome with as in me, the celebrity and some rando? Idk…Sara Ramirez and Channing Tatum would probably be my top picks
34. Do you play sports? What sports?
-I don’t really play sports anymore, but I used to play soccer for years. I’ve actually been wanting to get back into it but with my work schedule (I work 2nd shift), it’s impossible to join a league
36. Have you ever liked someone and never told them?
-Ha, story of my life
38. Describe your dream girl/guy?
-Someone with a heartbeat :p
40. What do you want to do after high school?
-I refuse to dignify this with a response
42. If your being extremely quiet what does it mean?
-I’m tired, I’m upset, I’m hurt or I’m uncomfortable
44. Trip to outer space or bottom of the ocean?
-Outer space
46. What are you paranoid about?
-EVERYTHING lol. But lately I think I’ve kinda felt like life is moving on without me. Like…when I was younger i just thought I would be in a different place in life than I am right now and the more time passes, the worse that feeling gets
48. Have you ever been drunk?
-You betcha
50. What was the colour of the last hoodie you wore?
-Black

62. Been arrested? For what?
-Never been arrested
64. Tell us the story of your first kiss?
-Honestly, it was pretty gross cuz I was way younger than the guy that I kissed. He really had no business being involved with someone my age. So it’s not the cutesy story some people have/hope for
66. Do you like your tumblr friends more than your real friends?
-I don’t know if I’d say more than, but just as much as yes. I think I share different connections with each group for different reasons
68. Twitter or Tumblr?
-Tumblr
70. Names of your best friends?
-Mary, Angie, Kay and Jess are probably my closest friends
72. What colour are your towels?
-Uhhh…are all my towels supposed to be the same color? Cuz they’re not…and probably too many to list. Blue, brown, purple, cream, etc.

-Three (2 sit side by side forming a horizontal base then I have one main pillow on top)
74. How many stuffed animals do you think you have?
-Way more than I should (I had an ex basically wipe out a claw machine for me once and I’ve just never bothered to get rid of them lol)
76. What colour is your underwear?
-Black
78. Favourite ice cream flavour?

Where To Get Dessert Delivery & Takeout In Seattle added to Google Docs
Where To Get Dessert Delivery & Takeout In Seattle
As if your aggressive sweet tooth wasn’t already an issue, now you have the stress of a quarantine triggering it. Tip: Just lean into it. We all need to feel some sweet relief right now, and there’s no shame in a late-night (or early afternoon) sugar binge. Luckily, there are plenty of places in town to help. From bakeries to pie shops to restaurants selling homemade soft serve, here are some great options for dessert delivery and takeout in Seattle.
All restaurants featured on The Infatuation are selected by our editorial team. Where To Get Dessert Delivery & Takeout is presented by Uber Eats. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, supporting our local restaurant community has never been more important. Uber Eats customers can now give directly to the restaurants they love at checkout. 100% will go to the restaurant. Order now to support. See app for details.
Featured In The Ultimate Seattle Delivery & Takeout Guide See all our guides The Spots  Frankie & Jo's $ $ $ $ Capitol Hill $$$$ 1010 E Union St
Ben and Jerry’s have their place, but the only two names in ice cream we’re interested in are Frankie and Jo. They make outstanding coconut- and cashew-milk-based vegan ice creams in flavors like chocolate tahini and rhubarb yuzu yogurt. You can check their Instagram for more information, but they’re also doing a delivery special that includes five pints and a reusable cooler bag for $80.
 Ma’ono Fried Chicken & Whisky $ $ $ $ Korean ,  Fusion ,  Southern  in  West Seattle $$$$ 4437 California Ave SW Not
Rated
Yet
It would be borderline cruel to get Ma’ono takeout without a spicy fried chicken sandwich. So, make sure to order one of those, and then add on a slice of banana cream pie for dessert. The whipped cream to filling ratio is essentially 2:1, and the cookie crust is full of crunchy cacao nibs. You can place your delivery order here.
 Homer $ $ $ $ Mediterranean  in  Beacon Hill $$$$ 3013 Beacon Ave S 8.4 /10
Besides incredible mezze and fluffy pita bread, we can also count on this Mediterranean restaurant in Beacon Hill for their soft serve takeout window. They have much more interesting flavors than just vanilla, like recent options vegan salt-roasted banana, matcha, chocolate bay leaf, and tahini. Having a cup of this stuff is somehow even better than a Zoom party without any technical difficulties.
Little Coney $ $ $ $ American ,  Burgers ,  Ice Cream  in  Ballard $$$$ 8003 Seaview Ave NW Not
Rated
Yet
Speaking of soft serve, this tiny burger joint located in the parking lot of Golden Gardens is where you can get a classic swirl cone. And even though you can’t enjoy your ice cream on the beach, it’s still nice to be able to drive up and grab a cone while soaking in the view of the shore. They’re only open for takeout (but the soft serve would travel poorly anyway).
Mamnoon $ $ $ $ Middle Eastern  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1508 Melrose Ave 8.5 /10
They’re not Oreos, but Mamnoon is selling freshly-baked chocolate chunk tahini cookies that you can order for delivery by calling the restaurant at 206-906-9606. You can eat them by themselves, use them to make little ice cream sandwiches, or freeze them for another day - the choice is yours.
 Sea Wolf Bakery $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery  in  Fremont $$$$ 3621 Stone Way N
Aside from rye bread, chocolate pastries are Seawolf’s expertise. Both their chocolate croissant and oatmeal chocolate chip cookie are phenomenal baked goods to pick up and eat for dessert. They’re so good that you’ll want to work them into your routine just as seamlessly as you did when you started checking your turnip prices in Animal Crossing daily.
 Hot Cakes $ $ $ $ American ,  Cafe/Bakery ,  Ice Cream ,  Dessert  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1650 E Olive Way Not
Rated
Yet
It’s your birthday - all the gifts were ecards, and your party is on Zoom. However, you can still get a real cake from Hot Cakes. They’ve launched a new menu called “Birthdays Don’t Stop” which is a delivery service for molten lava cakes you can bake at home. You can even add candles for free.
Order delivery   Miri's Snack Shack $ $ $ $ Mediterranean ,  Middle Eastern  in  Ballard $$$$ 8498 Seaview Pl NW Not
Rated
Yet
If you’d rather have your dessert for breakfast, the poffertjes at Miri’s are excellent - plus you can top yours with a dusting of powdered sugar and fruit or a sh*t ton of Nutella. They’re open for pickup only, but Miri’s gives you the perfect excuse to drive down to the beach and eat a big serving of pancakes.
 Bakery Nouveau $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1435 E John St 7.9 /10
Bakery Nouveau has almost every kind of French pastry you can think of - macarons, cakes, tarts, cookies, and more. Right now they have contact-free pickup areas at both their Capitol Hill and West Seattle locations.
 Cupcake Royale $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery ,  Ice Cream  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1111 E Pike St Not
Rated
Yet
Cupcake Royale is one of our favorite places for ice cream, cupcakes, and ice cream with cupcakes mixed in (specifically a double-decker cone of buttermilk red velvet and salty caramel). You can place an order for pickup, an advance order for delivery, or same-day delivery all on their website.
Order delivery   Pie Bar Ballard $ $ $ $ American ,  Dessert  in  Ballard $$$$ 2218 NW Market St Not
Rated
Yet
Pie Bar doesn’t leave a lot to the imagination - it’s a bar that serves pies. You can order their tasty cream or fruit-based slices for delivery here, and some of their options include apple crumble, key lime, peanut butter, and cookies and cream.
Order delivery  Lowrider Baking Company $$$$ 2407 E Union St
Lowrider Baking Company is offering same-day delivery for all of your cookie needs. If you go to their website, you can buy a layered cookie cake, as well as individual slices of cookie cake, pints of Full Tilt ice cream, and even half-pints of milk.
Order delivery   Buddha Bruddah $ $ $ $ American ,  Thai  in  Beacon Hill $$$$ 2201 Rainier Ave S Not
Rated
Yet
Buddha Bruddah’s Thai iced tea is so sweet and creamy that we’d even consider that a dessert. But they also have a bunch of other sweets on their menu to choose from, like coconut cream pie, chocolate cream pie, chocolate coconut cream pie, banana cream pie, and macadamia nut brownies. They’re all great, and you can get your slices and brownies delivered through third-party apps.
Order delivery   Sweet Alchemy Ice Cream $ $ $ $ Ice Cream  in  University District $$$$ 4301 University Way NE Not
Rated
Yet
While everyone’s raiding the freezer section at the supermarket, you should sit at home and get pints delivered to you from Sweet Alchemy. This ice cream spot in the U District serves excellent flavors like espresso shortbread, banana nutella, and Korean rice wine. In addition to pints, they’re offering homemade pastries for delivery, too.
 Order delivery   Deru Market $ $ $ $ American ,  Pizza ,  Sandwiches  in  Kirkland $$$$ 723 9th Ave Ste D 8.5 /10
One of the most heated debates with friends and coworkers is which cake flavor from Deru is the best. Some days we say dark chocolate with salted peanut butter frosting, and other days we’re feeling coconut - point is, they’re all incredible. Head to their website to find out what slices they have for pickup and delivery.
Kelly Cannoli $$$$ 11310 Lake City Way NE
On a random stretch of Lake City Way is a pink shed that serves the best cannoli in the entire city. Kelly Cannoli is offering delivery of their ricotta-filled pastry shells through third-party apps, and you can stay updated on their hours and menu on their Facebook page.
 Order delivery  R&M Dessert Bar $ $ $ $ American ,  Wine Bar ,  Cafe/Bakery ,  Ice Cream ,  Dessert  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 601 E Pike St Not
Rated
Yet
R&M is a great place to order from if you want dessert for a date night or anniversary while stuck at home. They specialize in smaller, fancier treats like chocolate almond tortes, cherry tarts, pear hazelnut crisps, and white chocolate pistachio shortbread. They’re selling wine too, in case you want something nice to pair with your pastries. Check their website for more information.
 Order delivery   Next Level Burger $ $ $ $ Burgers ,  Vegetarian  in  Ravenna/Roosevelt $$$$ 1026 NE 64th St Not
Rated
Yet
Next Level is a plant-based burger spot inside of the Roosevelt Whole Foods. So, while you’re there grabbing groceries, you should absolutely get one of their incredible chocolate cookie milkshakes made with homemade coconut soft serve. And if you don’t need to go to the grocery store, you can always just order a shake for delivery.
Order delivery   Shug's Soda Fountain and Ice Cream $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery  in  Downtown $$$$ First Avenue Not
Rated
Yet
If you have nothing to top your ice cream but an overripe banana, gummy multivitamins, and coffee grounds, you need Shug’s Soda Fountain’s help. Their sundae kits come with two pints of ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, brownies, graham crackers, marshmallows, toasted almonds, rainbow sprinkles, and cherries. If that’s too much (or you’re still looking for more), you can also get a root beer float kit or smaller s’mores sundae or brownie sundae kits. Just be sure to pick up from their West Seattle pop-up location, not their Downtown location. Check their Instagram for more information.
 Fat Ducks Deli & Bakery $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Cafe/Bakery  in  University District $$$$ 5509 University Way NE Not
Rated
Yet
You could take an entire afternoon and make an intricately layered shortbread from a recipe you found online. Or, you can just make a quick trip to pick up some sweets from Fat Ducks. From their fudgy brownies to millionaire bars, anything this bakery cuts into rectangles is excellent.
 Order delivery   Nielsen's Pastries $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery ,  Dessert  in  Queen Anne $$$$ 520 2nd Ave W Not
Rated
Yet
When you cross a cinnamon roll with a cheese danish, you get something incredible - behold the “Snitter” from Nielsen’s. Eat it for breakfast with coffee, after dinner with some milk, or just grab some of these pastries for takeout whenever you get a chance. They’re pickup-only, but if you buy a Baker’s Box for delivery (which also comes with flour, eggs, butter, and four assorted pastries), there’s a chance they’ll throw in a snitter.
Trophy Cupcakes $$$$ 1815 N 45th St Ste 209
While all of your friends are starting artsy hobbies like cross-stitching, painting, and puppeteering intricate love triangles on The Sims 4, you could get into cupcake decorating. Trophy Cupcakes offers delivery and pickup for their DIY Decorate Your Own Dozen Kit, which comes with two flavors of unfrosted cupcakes, vanilla buttercream, and a lot of sprinkles. Maybe this is meant for children, but we see no reason why adults won’t enjoy this, too.
Order delivery   206 Burger Company $ $ $ $ American ,  Burgers  in  First Hill $$$$ 1000 Madison Street Not
Rated

If you want something to sip on your couch that isn’t water, alcohol, or coffee, a milkshake the only logical next option. Our favorite one in the city is 206 Burger’s Oreo version, with thick vanilla ice cream and a lot of cookie crumbs. Order it for delivery here.

Seattle Restaurants Selling Groceries & Meal Kits added to Google Docs
Seattle Restaurants Selling Groceries & Meal Kits
Even if you weren’t trying to avoid grocery stores right now, you’d be hard-pressed to find any that carry DIY chicken cacciatore, soba noodle soup kits, or high-quality pizza dough with fresh mozzarella. That’s part of what makes the spots on this guide so special. Restaurants all over the city have started offering kitchen essentials for delivery or pickup to help stock your fridge, from coffee and frozen dumplings to wine and meal kits. Not only will you get delicious food, but you’ll also be helping to support local restaurants when they need you most.
All restaurants featured on The Infatuation are selected by our editorial team. Seattle Restaurants Selling Groceries & Meal Kits is presented by Uber Eats. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, supporting our local restaurant community has never been more important. Uber Eats customers can now give directly to the restaurants they love at checkout. 100% will go to the restaurant. Order now to support. See app for detail.
THE SPOTS Homer $ $ $ $ Mediterranean  in  Beacon Hill $$$$ 3013 Beacon Ave S 8.4 /10
“Homer At Home,” Homer’s new takeout operation, involves delicious Middle Eastern lunch and dinner takeout specials - but you can also order pantry staples like sourdough bread, hummus, bone broth, yogurt, and cookie dough. They’re only open right now Wednesday-Sunday for pickup, and you can find out more information on their website.
DeLaurenti Food & Wine $ $ $ $ Pizza ,  Cafe/Bakery ,  Italian  in  Downtown ,  Pike Place Market $$$$ 1435 1st Ave Not
Rated
Yet
This excellent Italian market (where we often stop for a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich or a cannoli), offers same-day weekday delivery of everything in the store - from olive oil and fancy dried pasta to bars of chocolate and jars of local jam. Aside from receiving a “care package” (AKA a bunch of flour and yeast) from an out-of-town relative, some four-year aged jamón Iberico is probably the best thing you could get delivered.
Kamonegi $ $ $ $ Japanese  in  Fremont $$$$ 1054 N 39th St 9.0 /10
Seattle’s best soba is now available to boil at home, which is some of the best news we’ve heard all week. With 24-hours notice, you can order enough fresh buckwheat noodles and broth for two people. They’re also selling spicy miso ramen kits and pints of Korean tofu stew and dashi kabocha soup. For more information, check out their menu online. You can stop by to pick anything up, but keep in mind that their delivery minimum is $100 on weekdays and $120 on Friday and Saturday.
addo Ballard $$$$ 6420 24th Ave NW
Addo launched a whole separate menu called Addo Pantry - there’s a ton of variety in what they’re offering, like Italian sauces and fresh pasta, ramen broth and noodles, homemade seasonings like fennel salt, and different cooked and raw things available in bulk like smoked salmon, cooked lechoncito pork, panzanella salad, and rice. They’ll also deliver to the entire Seattle area, including the Eastside. Check out their menu here.
Willmott's Ghost $ $ $ $ Pizza ,  Italian  in  South Lake Union $$$$ 2100 6th Ave 7.0 /10
Willmott’s Ghost is still making their thick Roman-style pizzas, like margheritas topped with cold mozzarella and potato pies with Fresno chile, thyme, and feta. But they’re also doing pizza kits that come with par-baked crusts and all the toppings you need to assemble a fresh Hawaiian, sausage, or pepperoni pizza by yourself. This option is only $5 cheaper than buying a fully-cooked pie, but it’s a great idea if you want a low-maintenance kitchen project or you have kids that need more entertainment than an endless loop of Frozen 2. The kits are available for curbside pickup only, from 2-8pm on Tuesday-Friday.
Cone & Steiner $$$$ 135 S King St
This lunchtime sandwich shop in Pioneer Square also happens to be a general store with a ton of groceries and snacks for sale, most of them local (like Fuel coffee, Ellenos Greek Yogurt, Puget Sound Kombucha, Beecher’s crackers, and more). They’re open for pickup and delivery orders, and you can check them out and place your order on their website.
Canlis $ $ $ $ American ,  Experimental ,  Molecular Gastronomy  in  Queen Anne $$$$ 2576 Aurora Ave N 7.8 /10
Canlis is delivering CSA boxes every Tuesday-Friday to anywhere within Seattle city limits (except for West Seattle due to the bridge closure). The boxes contain a bunch of vegetables from various farms as well as locally-sourced meats and dairy. They change every day, but they’ll always have a selection of produce and things like whole chickens, ground beef, fresh eggs, smoked salmon, fennel salami, yogurt, and more. Order online here.
Via Rosa 11 $ $ $ $ Pizza ,  Pasta ,  Italian  in  Bainbridge Island $$$$ 11201 Sunrise Drive NE Not
Rated
Yet
If you live on Bainbridge Island, this excellent Italian spot is now offering a takeout menu called “Via Rosa a’Gogo,” and on it, you’ll find homemade pasta and sauces available in bulk, from prosciutto-stuffed ravioli to containers of pesto. They’re also selling quarts of chicken, pasta e faglioli, and zucchini soup that you can stash in your freezer for another day. Check their Facebook for more information.
Little Ting's Dumplings $ $ $ $ Chinese  in  Greenwood $$$$ 14411 Greenwood Ave N. Not
Rated
Yet
Little Ting’s is one of our favorite places for a casual weeknight potsticker feast, but you can also buy frozen dumplings in bulk to pick up. They have 13 types available from pork and fennel to chicken and seaweed, and 50 pieces only cost $26. Make sure to call ahead at 206-363-3866 to pre-order (and make sure to also clear enough room in your freezer for the huge bags of wontons).
Order delivery  The Shambles $$$$ 7777 15th Ave NE
The Maple Leaf restaurant and butcher shop is selling everything from sweet Italian sausage to fruit-stuffed, pancetta-wrapped rabbit. For a full list of their meats, and other provisions like butter, mustard, and black garlic, check their website, and call them at 206-659-0074 to place a pickup order.
Seattle Fish Guys $$$$ 411 23rd Ave S
Seattle Fish Guys wants to take care of all your seafood needs - they’re offering something they call “Fish For A Week.” For $199.50, you can get a bunch of different things delivered (if you live in Seattle, Renton, or Bellevue), like miso black cod, shrimp tempura, squid salad, crab cakes, rockfish tacos, desserts, and more. Check out their Instagram for more information.
 Order delivery  L'Oursin $ $ $ $ French ,  Wine Bar  in  Central District $$$$ 1315 E Jefferson St 7.8 /10
This French restaurant and natural wine bar has transformed their space into a “marché,” selling prepared foods like smoked salmon, containers of pork ragu and mac and cheese, bread, and mustards - as well as fresh things like leeks, herbs, butter, and citrus. You can stay updated on what’s in stock by checking out their Instagram.
Il Nido $ $ $ $ Pasta ,  Italian  in  West Seattle $$$$ 2717 61st Ave SW 7.3 /10
If you want to make your friends jealous during your virtual dinner party, just pick up some pasta and sauce from Il Nido. For $15, you can get a pound of fresh pasta (pappardelle, paccheri, casarecce, campanelle, creste di gallo, or mafaldine), and for an extra $20, you can choose between a few types of sauce they’re selling by the quart - like braised beef and tomato ragu, pomodoro, pesto, mushroom cream, and puttanesca. You can also buy some of their homemade focaccia, olives, parmigiano, salsa al inferno, and bottles of wine - check their Instagram for more information.
Nielsen's Pastries $ $ $ $ Cafe/Bakery ,  Dessert  in  Queen Anne $$$$ 520 2nd Ave W Not
Rated
Yet
To get baking ingredients, instead of going on yet another fruitless QFC run, just order one of Nielsen’s three delivery boxes. On Thursdays, they do a “Baker’s Box” with five pounds of flour, a dozen eggs, a half-gallon of milk, one pound of butter, and four assorted pastries thrown in for fun. On Tuesdays, you can get a “Breakfast Club” package, which comes with Greek yogurt, homemade granola, orange juice, and a DIY cardamom French toast kit. And there’s also a Saturday delivery that involves cinnamon rolls and bags of coffee beans. Email them at [email protected] to sign up for any box.
Cafe Flora $ $ $ $ American ,  Vegetarian $$$$ 2901 E Madison St Not
Rated
Yet
Let’s say you just want a bunch of freshly-baked pastries without having to follow any recipes. Cafe Flora, a great vegetarian restaurant in Madison Valley, is selling various take-and-bake items like vegan cinnamon rolls, rosemary biscuits, walnut-currant scones, and chocolate chip cookies, as well as coffee beans for pickup or delivery. The pastry dough comes frozen to begin with, so you can bake right away or later - check out their website to place your order.
Brothers & Co. $$$$ 4634 E Marginal Way S
Pop up operation Brothers & Co. is now offering delivery and offering pickup from their SoDo and Fremont kitchens. They’re selling kimchi and braised beef stews, organic eggs and chile oil for your pantry, and kits to assemble ramen bowls, taco plates, and katsu dinners. Check out their website to place your order.
San Fermo $ $ $ $ Italian  in  Ballard $$$$ 5341 Ballard Ave NW 8.4 /10
San Fermo started what they’re calling a “Saturday Market” where you can buy dinner kits to make dishes like saffron spaghetti bolognese, chicken cacciatore, rapini lemon risotto, and more. Just pre-order on Fridays over the phone (206-342-1530) from 12-6pm for pickup on Saturday from 12-4pm.

Ooink $ $ $ $ Japanese ,  Ramen  in  Capitol Hill $$$$ 1416 Harvard Ave Not

Making ramen broth from scratch is a great cooking project - but if you won’t be able to sleep knowing that a pot of bones is simmering on an open flame all night, Ooink is offering a great shortcut. This ramen shop above the Broadway QFC sells at-home ramen kits, which comes with a pint of beef shoyu broth, an egg, bamboo, pork chashu, scallions, and homemade noodles. Check out their Instagram for more information.
Pho Bac Sup Shop $ $ $ $ Vietnamese  in  International District $$$$ 1240 S Jackson St 8.0 /10

THE SPOTS  Antico $ $ $ $ Pasta ,  Italian  in  Koreatown ,  Larchmont $$$$ 4653 Beverly Blvd 8.0 /10
We know what you’re thinking - isn’t Antico an Italian restaurant? Yes, but it’s an Italian restaurant that serves some absolutely incredible ice cream. And now, you can get it by the pint, either by delivery or by calling (323) 510-3093 for pick-up. Flavors include vanilla almond crunch, cookies and cream, and our personal favorite, honeycomb.
 The Apple Pan $ $ $ $ American ,  Burgers  in  Cheviot Hills ,  West LA ,  Westwood $$$$ 10801 W Pico Blvd 7.8 /10
The Apple Pan has been open for 73 years, and right now marks the first time they’re doing delivery. While you should obviously snag one of their legendary hickory burgers, their desserts are arguably just as special. The banana cream and boysenberry pies are a must. Available from 11am-9pm Tuesday-Sunday.
 Cobblers, Cakes, & Kream $$$$ 2323 W Manchester Blvd. Unit B
As the name suggests, you should definitely concentrate on the cobblers at this Inglewood bakery. That said, they serve all sorts of tasty desserts ranging from ice cream to cupcakes to cinnamon rolls. Open daily from 11am-3:30pm, they’re offering both takeout and delivery.

Sprinkles Cupcakes $$$$ 9635 South Santa Monica Boulevard
Cupcakes might’ve hit their cultural peak a few years ago, but Sprinkles is still going strong. The Beverly Hills original has locations from Newport Beach to Glendale, so you’re never too far away from your next Cupcakes And Chill outing. Takeout and delivery available at most locations featuring all menu items as well as DIY design kits.
Sweet Lady Jane $$$$ 16403 Ventura Blvd Ste C
Sweet Lady Jane makes everything from tarts to cookies to cakes, but definitely call your nearest location (West Hollywood, Encino, and Santa Monica) to see what’s behind the glass that day. All locations are open daily from 10am-4pm and offer both curbside pickup and delivery on most major platforms.
Sweet Red Peach $$$$ 1035 S Prairie Ave Ste 2
Located in Inglewood, Sweet Red Peach is a family-run bakery specializing in cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more. They’re currently offering their entire menu for curbside pick-up, which includes their excellent sweet potato cake (if it hasn’t already sold out). Open Monday-Saturday 11am-8pm and Sundays 11am-5pm.
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream $$$$ 8850 Washington Blvd
Ice Cream delivery has its obvious drawbacks, but one place that figured it out is Van Leeuwen. The popular ice shop from NYC now has four locations across LA and each one is offering delivery on most major platforms. Your days of throwing elbows to get the last pint at the supermarket are officially over.
Winston Pies $ $ $ $ Dessert  in  Brentwood $$$$ 11678 San Vicente Blvd Not

The Philadelphia Hit List The Best New Restaurants In Philadelphia added to Google Docs
The Philadelphia Hit List The Best New Restaurants In Philadelphia
Wondering where you should be eating in Philadelphia right now? You’re in the right place. The Infatuation Hit List is your guide to the city’s best new restaurants.
And when we say “best new restaurants,” we mean it. Because we’ve vetted every single one of these places - and we’ve also left off countless spots that simply aren’t as worthy of your time and paycheck.
The Hit List is our record of every restaurant that’s opened in the past year that we’d highly recommend you try. It’s also sorted chronologically, so you’ll find the newest spots at the top, and as you keep scrolling you’ll find the places that are on the older side - but are great enough that we still haven’t stopped talking about them.
New to The Hit List (as of 3/6/20): Porcos, St. Oner’s, and Laser Wolf.
the spots  Michael Persico Laser Wolf $ $ $ $ Middle Eastern  in  Kensington $$$$ 1301 N Howard St Not

Good luck getting a reservation at Laser Wolf, an Israeli grill in Kensington from the team behind Zahav. There’s so much hype around this spot that if you don’t have a reservation yet, you probably won’t get one until Winter 2022. What you should do, though, is show up before they open at 5pm and you can get a seat at the bar pretty easily. Then you can enjoy what every dinner at Laser Wolf includes - around a dozen small vegetable-based salads as well as pita and hummus. If you want, for $18, you could make a full meal out of an unlimited amount of fluffy pita and dips like kale babaganoush and sweet potato muhammara. Without getting anything else, it’s perfect for a first date or casual weeknight dinner. When you start ordering the meats on the menu, especially the bigger ones like an entire branzino filled with ginger, pineapple, and lemon for $88 - it can start adding up pretty quickly. Save that for a birthday, invite all your friends, and make them split everything with you at one of their big, colorful tables in their open-air market-esque space.
St. Oner’s $ $ $ $ Bar Food ,  Chinese  in  Fishtown $$$$ 2213 Frankford Ave Not
Rated
Yet
You probably already know about Tired Hands - a brewery based out of Ardmore - because of their popular frothy milkshake IPAs, or because you’ve been to the Tired Hands Biergarten. Right across the street from their seasonal beer garden in Fishtown is St. Oners, their tiny new bar and restaurant with a full menu of Chinese food ranging from small plates like salt and pepper wings to big bowls of rice and noodle dishes. But the best thing you can eat here is the beef neck and broccoli - the meat is so tender it’s practically falling apart. St. Oners also has a bunch of the beers from Tired Hands on tap (you can buy four-packs of their cans to go too), as well as a few great cocktails - like one with aquavit, sparkling rosé, and lemongrass.
 Porcos $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Cafe/Bakery  in  Point Breeze ,  South Philly $$$$ 2204 Washington Ave Not

Yet
The slow-roasted porchetta sandwich from Porcos is one of the best things you can eat in Philadelphia right now. We realize that’s a big statement, but we believe it as much as we know that the world is round, or that Ryan Gosling is too attractive to actually be from Canada. The pork is tender and salty, and comes served on crispy, housemade ciabatta. The menu at the small Washington Avenue bakery is mostly variations on the porchetta sandwich, with standouts like a Cubano with pickled vegetables and the “Spicy Porker” with a long hot relish. The space also has a big case of baked goods which are all solid (especially the chocolate chip cookie sandwich), but you’re here for the meat.
 Via Locusta $ $ $ $ Pasta ,  Italian  in  Rittenhouse $$$$ 1723 Locust St Not
Rated
Yet
There’s one pasta dish on the menu at Via Locusta that you’re supposed to eat with your hands. It could have been annoying and gimmicky, but the porcini and black truffle agnolotti that come with a cream-based dipping sauce are just too damn good to hate. The rest of the menu is just as good too, from fluffy focaccia with sweet and salty honey butter, to romanesco fritto in a pool of creamy goat cheese. And even though Via Locusta is run by the same team that brought us Double Knot, Giuseppe & Sons, Osteria, and about 15 other restaurants, this one feels different. It’s the kind of place where you want to hang out after work or bring a first date to - especially to have some cocktails and pasta at the black-and-gold bar.
Hello Vietnam $ $ $ $ Vietnamese  in  Northern Liberties $$$$ 722 N 2nd St Not
Rated
Yet
The prequel to Hello Vietnam was a place called Nam Son Bakery - a South Philly spot with maybe the best banh mi sandwich in the city. When that closed in 2019, the owners opened Hello Vietnam in Northern Liberties with the same incredible banh mis on bread that’s baked in-house. But they now also have a full dinner service. The BYOB has a short but excellent menu that ranges from appetizers like grilled beef wrapped in grape leaves, broken rice plates, and huge bowls of pho for around $12. You could definitely come here for a weeknight date, but it would still work for your weekly “book club” meet up that’s really just an excuse to talk about the latest episode of Temptation Island.
Michael Persico Merkaz $ $ $ $ Sandwiches ,  Middle Eastern  in  Center City ,  Midtown Village $$$$ 1218 Sansom St Not
Rated
Yet
You might think that the people behind Zahav have enough fast-casual places already - with locations of Dizengoff, Goldie, and Federal Donuts all over the city. But then they opened up a pita sandwich shop in Center City, and we regret thinking they could overdo it. Merkaz, like Dizengoff and Goldie, does Israeli street food. But instead of focusing on hummus or falafel, Merkaz serves breakfast every morning, with things like shakshuka and za’atar toast, and then moves on to pita sandwiches and Israeli sodas for lunch. They don’t really do dinner, but they stay open until 7pm, and you can get a whole roast cauliflower or chicken to take home. Because it’s in the middle of all the office buildings, lines get very long at lunchtime. Come around 2pm for a late lunch, though, and you’ll be able to get a crispy eggplant sabich or Jerusalem grill with chicken hearts in warm, fluffy pita in just a few minutes.
Cicala $ $ $ $ Italian  in  Spring Garden $$$$ 699 N Broad St Not
Rated
Yet
If you’ve ever tried to eat dinner near The Met before a show, then you know your options are pretty limited. But Cicala, a new Italian restaurant at the recently renovated Divine Lorraine Hotel, is a new pre-show option to add to your list. In the dining room, a bunch of crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling and occasionally flicker - we’re pretty sure this place is haunted. The menu here is, broken down into antipasti, pastas, and large entrees for the table to share. If you’re with a big group, definitely start by splitting the affettato misto, which comes with a big salumi plate and assorted vegetable salads. But no matter who you’re here with, you’ll want to get a couple pastas - especially the fazzoletti with lamb shoulder ragu and the maccheroni al ferro.
 Le Caveau $ $ $ $ French ,  Wine Bar  in  Queen Village $$$$ 614 S 7th St Not
Rated
Yet
Everything about Le Caveau feels cool. It’s the wine bar you’ve always wanted in your neighborhood - where you can walk in unannounced on a Thursday night with a date and immediately impress them just by knowing it exists. The dark, moody spot sits right above another of our favorite places, The Good King Tavern, and is like it’s sophisticated, cigarette-smoking sister who only dates older Italian men. Their wine list is primarily made up of natural bottles and is divided between “France” and “Not France.” There’s also a short menu of bar snacks with things like a hot dog wrapped in a baguette and salted chocolate mousse. You could probably order enough food to make a full dinner, but you should be coming here more for the wine and to feel like you’re cooler than you actually are.
Gigi Pizza $ $ $ $ Pizza  in  Queen Village $$$$ 504 Bainbridge St 8.0 /10
After being America’s favorite food for hundreds of years, Philadelphia finally figured out how to make pizza. And now we have more great pies than we know how to handle. Gigi is yet another addition to the growing number of Philly pizza shops, and it’s really good. This 12-seat spot connected to Olly in Queen Village makes Neapolitan pies, and they’re super light, thin, and crispy. Because they’re so thin, you can probably eat a whole one yourself, but you should share it just to save some room for dessert. There’s a cannoli dip served with cinnamon-sugar pizza crust that we haven’t stopped thinking about since we walked out the door.
 Emmy Squared $ $ $ $ American ,  Burgers ,  Pizza  in  Queen Village $$$$ 632 S 5th St Not
Rated
Yet
Emmy Squared, a pizza place that started in New York, has a new location in Queen Village. They focus on crispy Detroit-style pan pizza, with options like a margarita with piles of creamy burrata and one with white barbeque sauce and Nashville hot chicken. Arguably the best thing on the menu, though, is the “Le Big Matt” burger. It’s a double patty with American cheese, pickles, and something called “sammy sauce,” and it’s already one of our favorite burgers in the entire city.
 Condesa $ $ $ $ Mexican  in  Center City ,  Logan Square $$$$ 1830 Ludlow St. 8.6 /10
Condesa is the best Mexican place to open in Philadelphia in a long time. It’s located in the lobby of the new Pod hotel in Center City, but it doesn’t feel like you’re in a hotel when you’re in the restaurant. There’s a huge bar in the middle of the room along with a big space outside that has a bunch of pillowy lounge seating. Almost all of the dishes on the menu are made with house-ground masa from Mexico, from the lamb tacos to a chocolate masa cake. A very small portion of guacamole does costs $16 (save your money for the fluke ceviche tostada instead), but this is somewhere you need to check out.
 Alimentari $ $ $ $ Wine Bar  in  Center City $$$$ 1730 Chestnut St 7.6 /10
You might not think a wine bar that’s above a grocery store would be a great spot. But Alimentari, which takes up the top floor of Di Bruno Bros, isn’t like the beer halls you’ll find inside of Whole Foods or Giant. It’s a real restaurant with many different types of charcuterie boards and a wine list that uses descriptions like “weirdly fantastic” and “best buds with pizza” to describe their options. While the focus is on wine and charcuterie, there are also some excellent small plates and square Roman pizza slices here that you should add on to your order. It’s essentially like having friends over for wine and cheese but getting someone else to do all the work and not having to do the dishes afterward.
Rachel Lerro June Byob $ $ $ $ French  in  East Passyunk $$$$ 1911 E Passyunk Ave Not
Rated
Yet
June BYOB is a tiny French restaurant that took over the old Will BYOB space on East Passyunk. Like its former resident, it only has about 10 tables, most of which are two-tops filled with people splitting a bottle of wine from The Bottle Shop down the street. The menu is pretty short and split up between appetizers - like seared scallops in a grapefruit vinaigrette - and bigger plates like a roasted cod and a $42 trio of duck that’s especially excellent. Come here when you have something important to celebrate, like finding a hidden treasure map on the El.
 Forsythia $ $ $ $ French  in  Old City $$$$ 233 Chestnut St Not
Rated
Yet
We were very unhappy when Will BYOB, a French restaurant on East Passyunk, closed a few months back. But they already have a new place in Old City called Forsythia, which has quickly become a great neighborhood spot. Unlike Will, though, they’re not a BYOB - they have a long bar that’s constantly filled with people drinking cocktails or splitting a bottle from their great natural wine list. As far as the food goes, the menu is a la carte with mostly small plates like corn and ham hock beignets and mussels escabeche. For dessert, it’s necessary to order the two-tiered tower with a bunch of different sweets like raspberry macarons, coffee and coconut pots de creme, and more.
 Vernick Fish $ $ $ $ American ,  Seafood  in  Center City $$$$ 1876 Arch St 8.5 /10
Vernick Fish is an enormous, gorgeous restaurant on the ground floor of the newest Comcast Tower that comes from the people behind Vernick Food & Drink. As the name suggests, the menu has a lot of seafood and raw dishes, like oysters, tartare, and sashimi. All of the raw stuff is good but make sure to get the excellent plate of fluke sashimi covered in a brown butter vinaigrette and shaved hazelnuts. The rest of the menu is made of up smaller dishes to share, like a tangy squid pad thai salad, and larger things like grilled branzino and a whole Dover sole. There’s even a small “not fish” section in case, for some reason, you came to a seafood restaurant but don’t want anything from the ocean.
Messina Club $ $ $ $ American ,  Middle Eastern  in  East Passyunk $$$$ 10th street Not
Rated
Yet
When Messina opened right across the street from Palizzi Social Club, we were skeptical. Do we really need another members-only dining club in Philly? And is this one just going to be a rip-off of one of our favorite Italian places in the city? While, no, we probably didn’t need another members-only spot, this one is entirely different from Palizzi - in a good way. For one, the food isn’t Italian. It’s a mash-up of different cuisines, from honey-glazed wings and Spanish octopus to the best pierogies we’ve ever had. It also feels different inside. Instead of the old school portraits on the walls and the low-drop ceilings you’ll find at Palizzi, Messina feels more modern with a neon “Don’t Be A Dick” sign on display as soon as you walk through the door. Most importantly, though, it’s convinced us that there’s room for two excellent social clubs in the same neighborhood.
 Michael Persico K'Far $ $ $ $ Middle Eastern ,  Cafe/Bakery  in  Rittenhouse $$$$ 110 S 19th St 8.6 /10
K’far, the new all-day Israeli bakery from the people behind Zahav, is pretty. Almost too pretty, to the point where you might wonder if the food is any good or if all the gold piping and marble tabletops are just a ruse to lure people in. But fortunately, K’far backs up its boutique-hotel aesthetic with some really incredible pastries, grain bowls, and kubaneh toasts on thick, buttery bread. You’ll have to get there early, like before 11am, if you want to get a chocolate babka or walnut sticky bun before they sell out. Right now, they’re only open until 2pm, but once they roll out their dinner menu, you’ll be able to order things like Turkish stuffed eggplant and take full advantage of their huge bar.
 Elwood $ $ $ $ American  in  Fishtown $$$$ 1007 Frankford Ave Not
Rated
Yet
Elwood is a meat-heavy Pennsylvania-Dutch-inspired spot on Girard in Fishtown. Eating here kind of feels like going on a second-grade field trip to the Constitution Center or Liberty Bell. Everything on the menu, from the ham potpie to the spelt dumplings for dessert, has a history lesson attached - lessons you’ll probably hear about from the chef or your server throughout the meal. Even the space itself, which has original paintings from the 1800s and antique silverware collected by the chef, makes you feel like you’re in a museum. The whole experience can feel a bit strange at first, but the food is so good that you’ll be happy you took a field trip out here.
 Matthew Williams Hiroki $ $ $ $ Japanese ,  Sushi  in  Fishtown $$$$ 1355 N Front St 8.7 /10
Hiroki is the new, omakase-only spot from the people behind the Fishtown Italian restaurant Wm. Mulherin’s Sons, and it’s located around the corner in the alley behind it. The restaurant feels like you’re walking into a wine cellar - the barrel-shaped door leads into a small, dark room that’s almost entirely taken up by the sushi counter. There are a few tables as well, but you want to be at the counter, where where you’ll get everything piece-by-piece straight from the sushi chef. Every meal starts with a small tray of appetizers, and then moves through things like soy-marinated wagyu short rib and crispy tilefish, followed by about 12 pieces of sushi, a cup of miso soup, and a small dessert. By the end of the meal, you’ll start to think up reasons to justify coming back as soon as possible.
Circles + Squares $ $ $ $ Pizza  in  Olde Richmond $$$$ 2513 Tulip St 8.5 /10
Remember Pizza Gutt? The place that sold 70 or so pies a night out of the back of a Spring Garden coffee shop? Well they finally opened their own shop in Kensington (where Lil Lina’s used to be), and in addition to serving their signature square-pan pizzas, they’re also making traditional, thin-crust circle ones. The place is constantly swamped with people, so you’ll have to get there at around 5pm and wait an hour or so if you want to get a pizza before they sell out (which they do every night by around 7pm). But it’s worth the wait, especially for the pan pizzas - they’re crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and just as good when heated up the next day.
 Kalaya Thai Kitchen $ $ $ $ Thai  in  Bella Vista $$$$ 764 S 9th St 8.7 /10
Kalaya makes the best Thai food in Philly right now. We realize that’s a bold statement, but this Bella Vista BYOB has an incredible menu - filled with things like bright blue tapioca dumplings and spicy curries. You’ll also want to hang out often in the loud, busy dining room and bring a bunch of friends and bottles of wine. We’re not sure what Philly will look like ten years from now, but we’re pretty sure this place will still be here, and we’ll still be coming around often.
 Olly $ $ $ $ American ,  Bar Food  in  Queen Village $$$$ 700 S 5th St 7.4 /10
Olly is part casual sports bar, part restaurant that you’d go to with your parents. It’s located on the corner of South 4th in Queen Village and, on a nice night, they fill up the sidewalk with a ton of two-tops. The bar has a bunch of TVs, so instead of eating frozen mozzarella sticks while you watch the Eagles, you can order spice-rubbed wings with an herbed yogurt dipping sauce or English pea toast and burrata on sourdough toast. Come for brunch on the weekends and get peanut butter blintzes and potato and chard frittatas while you watch an English Premier League soccer game.
 Alpen Rose $ $ $ $ American ,  Steaks  in  Center City ,  Midtown Village $$$$ 118 S 13th St 8.2 /10
Most steakhouses are huge, cavernous halls with two-story ceilings and tons of big round tables. Alpen Rose is not that. It’s a small, 15-table, all-wood room that looks like either the inside of a treasure chest or the personal library of a retired Harvard professor, and it’s full of expensive-looking paintings in ornate frames. Alpen Rose has a pretty standard steakhouse menu, divided between appetizers, sides, and dry-aged steaks. Red meat is definitely the focus here, and it’s all sliced tableside while you watch like a Golden Retriever who hasn’t eaten since breakfast. If you want something a little more interesting, the bone marrow toast and beef tongue are both solid options.
 Kerry McIntyre Pizzeria Beddia $ $ $ $ Pizza ,  Wine Bar  in  Fishtown $$$$ 1313 N Lee Street 9.0 /10
Ever since Beddia 1.0 on Girard closed last year to “reinvent itself,” everyone from your landlord to the mayor has been waiting for the second coming. It’s finally arrived in a Fishtown alley with a little green neon sign out front, and it’s much bigger than it used to be, with three high-ceilinged rooms painted all white and filled with minimal light-wood furniture. And it also has more than just pizza. Besides a few different pies (which, yes, are just as good as they’ve always been), there’s a long natural wine list, a few starters, and a daily selection of soft serve that you can - and should - take to-go, even if you’re not staying for a full meal.
