Choicale Headcanon #6: Big spoon, Little spoon
Choi Han likes being the big spoon. It makes him feel like he can protect and shield Cale from outside dangers. He also likes the feeling of knowing Cale is within his grasp and that Cale has a lot of trust in him be in his arms at all. Physical intimacy is also just a comfort for him in general since he did not receive any when he was in the Dark Forest.
Cale likes being little spoon for similar reasons. It’s a show of trust on his part for one thing. Proof he got over his original fears about Choi Han and that he’s trusted enough to be in a position of physical power over Cale. Even if he acts like he is just indulging Choi Han he actually finds his strong and reliable presence at his back comforting. He likes feeling as though he is being taken care of. Plus he’s fallen for the idea “spooning -> cuddles -> naps -> slacker life”.
They do occasionally swap for kicks or if Cale want to reassure/comfort Choi Han but their pretty content in their usual roles.

Cooking with Choi Han:
Bosingtang Soup
Choi Han gazed at the ingredients laid out in front of him with a happy hum. For days now, he sneakily gathered all ingredients, although, he couldn’t remember all of them and some don’t exist in this world, so he had to improvise. But people do that all the time, shouldn’t be too hard.
Beacrox and Ron were out which meant that Choi Han had the kitchen solely to himself.
He planned on making Bosingtang, also known as dog meat soup to some. Naturally, he won’t use dog meat- not to mention, he hasn’t seen any actual dogs in this world as beast people don’t count-, instead, Choi Han went into the Forest of Darkness and collected some monsters that look similar enough to pass as dogs. They should taste the same.
Choi Han picked up an apron, still cheerfully humming. With swift moves he decapitated the monster, dropping the unnecessary leftovers into the rubbish bin. With the meat carefully separated- he ignored the fact that the meat had more of a green tint than the normal red-, the swordmaster shifted his attention to the pile of vegetables.
Choi Han scratched his head. A small part that he remembers is that bean paste is used to enhance the flavor of the soup, however, he doesn’t know how to make the paste. Instead, Choi Han just mashed the beans together with some random spices he found in the forest. It looked good enough, smelling a bit spicy but what is korean food without a bit of spice?
His pile of vegetables contained not only the usual such as green onions, leeks, and peppers, but Choi Han also took some liberties with this world’s version of taro- or, at least he thinks it is- as well as some truly massive amounts of garlic.
(He may be petty but Fredo mentioned that he wants to visit. While Choi Han doesn’t know if this version of vampires is allergic to garlic, he won’t risk Fredo stealing the food he is making for Cale-nim.
Also, Garlic is healthy and Cale-nim needs all the health he can get.)
He prepared a big pot with water and stared at it in concentration until bubbles started to form. After dumping all the vegetables and extra spices into the pot, he let it simmer. Meanwhile, a cutting board and knife were prepared and Choi Han carefully divided the meat into small bite-sized pieces. With a bit of oil, he roasted the meat till a nice gold-brown- maybe more black than brown but Choi Han heard that some meats need a black crust, and this could be one of them- crust formed.
To finish his dish off, Choi Han dumped the meat into the vegetable broth and added some spices- he forgot if he already added them, but once again, spicy should be fine.
Choi Han beamed in pride. Cooking isn’t so hard after all.
Taking the pot off the heat, Choi Han looked at the time. Just right. Before he started cooking, he asked Cale-nim and the kids to meet him at the garden patio. Cale agreed with a suspicious glance in his eyes while the kids cheered loudly.
Forks, knives, and spoons as well as some refreshments quickly joined the still hot pot.  Choi Han sat down and at exactly the promised time, he could spot Cale and the kids leisurely walking toward him.
And with leisurely, he only meant Cale. Raon zoomed past the others, heading straight for Choi Han like a bullet while On and Hong hopped over, complaining all the way that their human is too slow.
Cale eyed the closed pot.
His instincts were telling him that he won’t survive if he consumes that. It can’t be, right?
“Cale-nim.”, Choi Han cheerfully started and also greeted the kids, “I made a korean dish. Do you want to taste it?” Cale’s eyes widened by a tiny fraction. He missed korean food and sometimes dreamed about rice cakes, tteokbokki, and kimchi.
Choi Han didn’t wait for Cale to form an opinion and directly lifted the lid. A tantalizing smell reached Cale and the kids’ noses. Gazing inside, Cale raised an impressed brow at what he saw.
Juicy-looking flecks of meat, many vegetables, and a yellow-green broth. It looked good. While the smell of the spices was quite heavy and Cale couldn’t identify the various nuances, it still looked edible enough to at least try.
Choi Han served Cale first and then also filled the plates of the kids and naturally his own.
‘That’s how life should be.’, Choi Han thought happily. Cale-nim, the kids, and korean food with him as well as no annoying Beacrox or Ron in sight.
While Cale only took a small spoonful- his instincts exist for a reason and he isn’t stupid enough to ignore them completely-, Choi Han served himself a giant spoon, swallowing the warm soup in one go. Not even half a second after the soup reached his stomach did Choi Han’s face switch from a healthy tan to green.
Cale stopped instantly with frightened eyes. Unfortunately, a drop of the soup touched his tongue.
The young master was unconscious on the floor before Choi Han could warn him. On and Raon hastily passed their plates over to Hong, who gulped down the soup, letting out a satisfied hum.
“Good poison.”, he cheerfully commented, which gained alarmed looks from Raon and On. They looked at their unconscious human and started to panic. Luckily, Ron made his appearance at that exact moment. The butler had a terrifying smile on his face and carefully lifted Cale from the floor, carrying him back to his room.
The kids followed the butler.
An enraged shout echoed through the mansion after Beacrox discovered the mess Choi Han made out of his kitchen.
And Choi Han?
He was left with a green face in the garden, fighting the urge to fall unconscious.
Must have been too many garlic cloves.
The recipe:
1 meat of questionable origin
1-2 leek
Peppers (as many as you want)
1 Ginger
1 taro (or whatever is most similar to taro)
1 Clove of Garlic or more
Green Onions (the more the better)
A few Perilla Leaves (although, any minty leaf is fine)
Spices (chili, pepper, salt, something that looks like dandelions, and various other spices that fit the mood)
(Disclaimer: Please don’t try at home.)

Whatever it takes, we are soo honoured and proud of you, Our DEAR LEE JONG SUK 👏🤞Thy well be done...🙏
[Naver] Anyway, the target is Lee Jong Suk? MBC Acting Awards 2nd Grand Prize
This year's MBC drama did not have a 'big hit' like last year's 'Red Sleeves', but the average viewer ratings and topicality increased. Among them, actor Lee Jong Suk is predicted to be a strong candidate for the grand prize.
The 2022 MBC Drama Awards will be broadcast live at 8:30 pm on the 30th.
Looking back at the MBC drama lineup in 2022, 'Tracer', 'Tomorrow', 'Showtime From Now', 'Doctor Lawyer', 'Big Mouth', 'Gold Spoon', 'One Hundred Butlers', 'Golden Spirit, Joseon Marriage' Ban', 'Secret House', 'Witch's Game', and 'Boar Hunt' met with viewers.
Recently, MBC has revealed the potential candidates for the award through a teaser video that begins with the phrase 'We invite you to the acting awards'. So Ji-seop, Lee Jong Suk, Kim Hee-seon, Park Hae-jin, Yook Sung-jae, Im Si-wan, Lee Hye-ri, and Choi Soo-young are the main characters.
In "Doctor Lawyer ", So Ji-seob played the role of Han Yi-han, a doctor who was falsely accused of causing the death of a patient, and Kim Hee-sun, who charismatically portrayed the role of a beautiful reaper with a story in "Tomorrow," stands out.
In 'Golden Spoon', Yook Sung-jae portrays Lee Seung-cheon, who is conflicted between his desire to have money and his poor but warm family, without a sense of difference. Expectations are gathering for grand prize winners such as Im Si-wan, who played Hwang Dong-joo and led the viewership rating to 9%.
The actor most likely to win the grand prize is Lee Jong Suk, who appeared in 'Big Mouth'.
'Big Mouth' was the only MBC drama this year to record double digit ratings. 'Big Mouth', which started with a national audience rating of 6.2%, ended with a rating of 13.7% and reaped the beauty of the end. It was also a hot topic, taking first place in TV topic in the Friday and Saturday drama category.
The main character, Lee Jong Suk, played the role of Park Chang-ho, a livelihood lawyer with a 10% win rate. He is a person who became involved in a murder case by accident and became the genius con artist 'Big Mouse' overnight. In order to survive and to protect his family, Park Chang-ho, who struggles to uncover the true face of the privileged class stained with a huge conspiracy, is delicately portrayed.
Lee Jong Suk led the turbulent play by showing various aspects of Park Chang-ho in a short period of time, from the incompetent and stressful life of a lawyer suffering from debt, to the way he was falsely accused and desperately screaming, and to the way he woke up to protect Miho.
If he receives the grand prize at the acting awards this time, he will be honored with the second grand prize. He won the grand prize at the MBC Drama Awards at the age of 28 in 2016 through the drama 'W'.
At the time, he played a unique setting called a character in a webtoon, and contributed to the success of the drama by expressing various characters such as Olympic shooting gold medalists, super conglomerates who own broadcasting stations, and national stars without a sense of separation.
In this 'Big Mouth', which he chose as his first work after being discharged from the call, he showed his potential with a flawless appearance. As expected by many, attention is focusing on whether Lee Jong Suk will receive the grand prize or the honor of being the second grand prize.

May I request some fluff RFA headcanons? 🥺🥺
I hope these are okay!! I added Saeran and V just for the sake of it!! <3 these will be a random mixture of with and without MC!
Random Fluffy RFA + Saeran and V Headcanons
Yoosung Kim Fluffy Headcanons
He asks you to marry him in LOLOL, since there’s an expansion pack where you can set up a little house for extra storage. He gets really nervous and a bit sweaty about asking you to do it, he takes it oddly seriously and Zen almost passed out when he thought that you were actually engaged.
He tries to make you coffee every morning, especially if he’s trying a new style out. He thinks it’s really fun and he loves to greet you with it for breakfast. After a while, you come to associate the faint smell of coffee with Yoosung.
At the start he starts sneakily using little bits of your shower gel because they smell so much nicer than the one his gamer student budget allows him to buy. Eventually, he’ll just cave and buy a bottle of the one that you use because it means he gets to be reminded of you all day and it’s a lot better for his skin anyway.
If you play with his hair when his head is in your lap, he’ll absolutely fall asleep. Yoosung is a little bit like a puppy in that way, it just makes him feel so happy and loved.
Zen/Hyun Ryu Fluffy Headcanons
Zen’s a big person for morning kisses, especially sleepy ones. He’s an early riser and definitely feels extra needy in the morning. He’s also always the big spoon, he likes to feel as though he’s protecting you even when he’s asleep.
Whenever you’re crying and cover your face so he can’t see, Zen’s the kinda person who would gently pull your arms away so he can get a look at you and figure out what’s wrong. He’ll kiss at your eyes and cheeks until you either stop crying, or let him get close enough to pull you in so you can cry on his chest.
He loves doing skincare on you. If he thinks you’ve had a hard week, he’ll do your moisturiser, clay mask, face mask, eye mask- you name it, Zen wants to pamper you with it. He knows the importance of skincare and he thinks it’s a great way to relax and pamper you.
Zen’s ‘Happy Place’ that he thinks of when he gets stressed is the two of you, beers in hand, spending an evening in the kitchen trying to cook food. He can hear the laughter, smell the ever-so-slightly burning food, taste the traces of beer on your lower lip. It just makes him so happy to think about and he can feel the desperation in his limbs to sprint home at full speed and make the daydream real.
Jaehee Kang Fluffy Headcanons
Saturday mornings are Jaehee’s favourite out of the whole week. She’s just worked 5 hellish days and Saturday is the day where she gets to have a bit of a lie-in. Usually, Jumin doesn’t ask her to come into the office on weekends and it’s usually just a case of working from home. Jaehee tries not to oversleep too much because she doesn’t want to throw off her schedule but sometimes she can’t help but pass out for 10 hours straight and undisturbed.
She really enjoys bubble baths with you. When you first start doing it together, she’s a little shy at being seen undressed so intimately, but she still really enjoys the time alone with you. It’s a great way to unwind and she likes being so close to you.
Jaehee isn’t much of a cuddler when she’s asleep, she tends to just sleep flat on her back out of exhaustion. However, if you wake up for any reason during the night, you’ll frequently find her hand holding yours, whether she did it consciously or not.
She collects really nice and cute stationary. She doesn’t really take them to work because she doesn’t want to be seen as unprofessional, but once she runs the coffee shop, she gets to write in her little hot-drinks-themed stationary and decorates the little cups with tiny stickers for the frequent customers and especially for whenever Zen comes to visit.
Jumin Han Fluffy Headcanons
Sunday mornings are Jumin’s favourites. He usually wakes up really early by routine, but on Sundays he spends a little bit longer curled up in bed with you and Elizabeth the Third, watching you both sleep. Jumin’s also usually the big spoon if he’s sleeping on his side, but when he sleeps on his back he typically still has one arm around your waist so you’re pulled next to him with your head on his chest.
He personally donates to many different cat shelters all over the country. He takes the money straight out of his own bank account and gives generous monthly donations to make sure that there’s enough funding to both feed the cats already there, and take in extra cats of the streets along with getting them adopted. Jumin’s staff actually has a company policy that if they adopt a cat from one of the shelters that Jumin supports, the vet and adoption fees are covered by him, he counts it as philanthropy.
Jumin has a bottle of wine in his cellar from the date you met, the date you first kissed, the date you got engaged and the date you got married. He hasn’t quite decided when he’ll share those wines with you, he just knows at the moment that he wants to keep them for a very special occasion.
When he’s bored at work but he can’t call you because you’re busy, he pictures taking you to one of his vineyards on the weekend. He’ll picture your smile, you adjusting your hat and lightly squinting against the sun, you smiling at him over your glass of wine. Then he’ll tell Jaehee to clear his schedule for the weekend.
Saeyoung Choi Fluffy Headcanons
Your arms around him, holding him against you, is pretty much the only thing that can bring Seven out of an anxiety attack. If you’re not physically with him, he crawls under the duvet on his bed in hopes of still smelling you. He’ll call you and look through selfies with you that he has on his phone until he calms down.
Seven frequently tries to make you food. He’s never had to cook for anyone before and he doesn’t really cook for himself, so it’s a lot of trial, error and frustrated takeaways. You try to eat whatever he makes though because you can really tell that he’s put his heart into it and you want to show him that you appreciate the effort he’s making.
He loves you feeling his biceps and gushing over how strong he is. He’s not even particularly ripped but you can tell he has strength in his limbs and seeing you give him any kind of physical approval makes him m e l t instantly.
He’s both the big and little spoon, depending what mood he is in. Sometimes he wants to hold you close and never let go, but sometimes Seven needs a little bit of support too and want to feel like he’s needed by you.
His absolute favourite dates are the arcades, the cinema, bowling and carnivals. He has far too much fun on the bumpercars and he absolutely has it out for you, you spend most of the time trying to escape him.
GE Saeran Choi  Fluffy Headcanons
GE Saeran always makes very over the top hot chocolates for the both of you. He has an arsenal of whipped cream, syrups, chocolate shavings and sprinkles. His hot chocolate is better than any you could buy in a store. He’ll make one for you whenever you ask, and then sometimes just to surprise you if it looks like you’re having a bad day.
GE Saeran ends up getting two cavities in his first few years of living freely. He does look after his teeth, but he let his sweet-tooth go little bit wild with all the new foods he got to try, it was all so new and fun to him, he just wanted to try everything! He took much better care of his teeth after that, but the trip to the dentist was quite a weird one since he’d never been before.
Slight Angst: Saeran always serves your food first and makes sure there’s always extra helpings if you want it. He usually puts a little bit more on your plate than what you would usually eat. He never quite gets over the guilt of taking your food away at Magenta, so he spends the rest of his time making sure you have more than enough to eat now.
He likes to constantly buy you little gifts that he sees when he’s out and about that remind him of you. A little notebook in your favourite colour? A little forget-me-not necklace? A candle that smells like your perfume? He’d added them all to his cart.
After lip kisses, Saeran loves giving cheek and hand kisses to you. For him, he really loves getting head kisses and he thinks it’s extra cute when you plant a little kiss onto the tip of his nose.
V/Jihyun Kim Fluffy Headcanons
V usually wakes up first, unless he was working late in his studio. He wakes you up with a kiss to the forehead, a cup of coffee and soft words. After he’s put your drink on the table, he’ll climb back into bed with you and cuddle until you’re properly awake.
He actually enjoys baking with you. Well, he likes to help you bake and then he gets to do the decorating. You usually bring a cake to any RFA hangouts and it’s always very obvious when V’s helped you bake because it feels like he goes out of his way to put a piece of gallery-worthy art onto a cake with food colourings and icings. He thinks it makes it tastes better, and you have to agree.
In recent years, V’s been considering trying a more plant-based diet. He thinks he’d like to try vegetarianism, but he’s frequently spend periods of time as a pescatarian, especially after he’s come back from travelling. It also means that he gets to practice cooking more too.

You Are the One That I Love
My first time into fanfic part of the MM fandom, I’m new to this so please be nice to me :)
Synopsis: She thought they were getting closer.
She thought he returned the feelings she had when he shared about his past, when he confided to her about his negative thoughts, when he talked about his weaknesses.
All those endearments, those shared moments, those touches.
Maybe she was the only one who thought that way.
He makes that pretty clear when he offers to set her up with his co-star.
Genres: Angst, Fluff, Hurt & Comfort
Pairings: Zen x MC | Saeran x MC
You can also read it here
Chapter 1:
It’d been a year since she’d joined the RFA, with 5 successful parties behind her.
Saeran was in a good place with everyone’s help, Jaehee opened her own coffee shop, Yoosung finally began to work hard for his dream as a vet, Jumin and his father had talked things through, getting to a point where both men understood each other’s point of view. And Zen. He was becoming a well sought out actor, known for his acting, not just because of his pretty face.
Everyone was happy and she was.
Seven had become her best friend, with Jaehee coming a close second, after the long period of time they had spent together helping Saeran transition back into somewhat normality. She began working as one of Jumin’s secretaries now that Jaehee had quit, only focusing on the cat projects Jumin was intent on doing.
She was too, but she wanted more. She wanted romance, a man to love her the way her parents loved each other.
She pushes that away and bangs at Seven’s door, trying to get one of the Choi brother’s attention, at least enough for them to open up the door or tell her the Arabic translation for Honey Buddah Chips.
Seven laughs at the exasperation on her face once she drops groceries on the kitchen counter. “You never learn.”
“I’d prefer not to carry around a Arabic dictionary with me, thank you very much,” she quips back.
“MC, how could you say that! What if an Arabic man suddenly approaches you and offers to give you 10 million dollars if you could translate a word for him?” Seven prods. “Imagine all  Honey Buddah Chips you could buy!”
Saeran rolls his eyes from his spot on the sofa. “I’ll take the chance of that never happening.”
She leans forward and grins at Saeran. “Agreed.”
Seven puts a hand to his chest in a dramatic fashion. “You two wound me! How will I ever survive the bullying?”
She giggles while Saeran picks up a cushion and flings it at his brother.
Seven dodges and leaps towards Saeran, probably for a hug or revenge. One could never really predict Seven’s actions.
Saeran gets up from his seat calmly and easily sidestepping Seven and heads towards her. He settles himself on the kitchen stools across the kitchen counter.  “I want to have curry for dinner.”
She peeks through the ingredients in the fridge and nods. “I think we have enough ingredients for that.”
Saeran flashes her a small grin and they all slip into an easy routine.
She yells for Saeyoung to finish his work or suffer the wrath of Vanderwood. She cooks while Saeran watches her cook, occasionally bantering with his brother.
It’s comfortable, but in the end, it still feels like she’s missing something.
She knows what it is but she doesn’t want to admit it outloud because if she did, everything she loved would fall apart at the seams.
“Yoosung would not be happy to hear you call him a little birdy.” She tries to move the subject away from what she knew was Seven’s endless ribbing.
Seven chuckles. “You aren’t getting out of this, missy.”
She shrugs. “He invited me, like he invited all of you, but I’m the only one who was free, so at least someone from the RFA should go support him.”
“God knows Jaehee does that enough for all of us.” Saeran mutters.
She hides a giggle behind a spoonful of rice.
Just as Seven opens his mouth to say something, her phone begins to ring. Without a doubt it’s it’s Zen, she knows from the special ringtone she’d set for him since ages ago.
She gives both brothers a smile and heads towards the further corner of the house.
“Hello, lovely Zen.” She chirps into the phone.
“Hello MC, have you eaten?” It was just like him to worry about her like this.
“I have.”
“Good girl, I’m glad you did.” His voice is gentle and she wishes she could see him, just a little. “I just wanted to hear your voice before I get back to practice. I can’t disappoint my honey when she comes to watch my show.”
She giggles. “I would never be disappointed. I know how hard you worked and how much effort you put into properly portraying your character.”
“Thank you for saying this. You always say the right words and make me feel so good.” She hears something akin to a smooching sound against her ear. “A kiss for you, babe.”
She mimics the sound of a kiss. “One for you too, Zenny.”
“I think I just got shot!” Zen’s voice rings out dramatically. “I’m in critical condition. I need more of MC’s kisses!”
She let’s out another giggle. “Zenny, you should take a rest and take care of your own body.”
“I will, sweetie.” In a more rushed tone, Zen continues to speak. “I have to go know, practice is starting again. I’ll talk to you later, MC.”
She hangs up and heads back towards the dinner table, where Seven is smirking at her while Saeran looks mildly curious.
“Want to go to the aquarium this week?” she asks quickly before either of them could ask about her call.
Seven quickly latches onto the idea and Saeran reluctantly agrees to go, only if they could have ice cream afterwards.
They spend the rest of the evening discussing about their trip to the aquarium, but Zen lingers at the back of her mind for the rest of the night.
Zen’s attention snaps to her and he quickly rushes towards her with a big smile on his face. “MC! Did you come see me?”
She nods and hands him the boxed lunch. “I made lunch for you. You mentioned barely having time for lunch since the opening is coming up, so I thought it would be a good idea to bring you lunch again. I hope it’s no bother to you.”
“Dang Zen!” A man with messy brown hair comes to a stand beside them. “You sure are lucky to have your beautiful girlfriend come and bring you homemade food while the rest of us survive on take out.”
“Hands off, Jung Wook.” Zen pushes at the other man’s hand that had snaked onto her shoulder sometime as they talked. “She’s my friend, not my girlfriend.”
That stung a little, to hear it so straight forward. It wasn’t Zen’s fault but she wanted to blame him for her heart constricting painfully at the rejection.
Jung Wook thrusted a hand towards her. “I’m Han Jung Wook.”
“I’m MC.” She takes Jung Wook’s hand in her own.
“Oh! MC? Zen talks about you all the time, you can practically see the silly grin he has on his face every time he finishes talking to you on the phone.”
Someone calls out to Zen before she can say anything further.
Zen groans but gives the woman a nod. “Wook, mind taking care of her for me for a while?”
Jung Wook nods and Zen turns to her with concern in his eyes. “I’m sorry, I’ll be back as soon as I can so I can have the delicious lunch my honey made.”
Zen hurries towards the woman with a stern face as she turns back to Jung Wook. “If you would like, I made some extra food, so please feel free to have some if you’d like.”
Jung Wook grins at her. “I would love to.”
He leads her over to a table at the side of the room.
“Are you allergic to anything?” she asks carefully. Imagine the catastrophe if she accidentally poisoned one of Zen’s co-workers, especially so close to opening night.
Jung Wook shakes his head. “Nope, unlike Zen I’m not allergic to anything, not even cats.”
They both laugh as Jung Wook tells her about the time Zen had spent half the interview holding back sneezes because the interviewer had cat fur stuck to his suit.
She giggles a little harder when he shows him the photo he’d taken of Zen, mid-sneeze.
“What did you say to make my honey laugh so hard?” Zen asks when he takes a seat beside her.
“It’s a secret.” Jung Wook winks at her and maybe she just imagined it, but she sees Zen stiffen from the corner of her eye.
It’s gone the moment she blinks and Zen is back to his charming persona. “Thanks for taking care of MC for me Wook, the director was looking for you.”
“It was nice meeting you MC, I hope I’ll see you again soon.” Jung Wook says with another smile.
“It was nice to meet you too, Jung Wook, maybe we will see each other on opening night.” She returns the smile easily.
Jung Wook looks like he has something else to say but he changes his mind and gives them both a smile before he heads off.
“You even made my favourite!” He oohs and ahhs over the food she’d prepared for him. He picks up his chopsticks and takes a bite. “I missed the food you made, babe.”
She grins back at him. “I’m glad you like it.”
He picks up a mouthful of salad and holds it towards her. “Open up.”
She obediently does as she’s told, hoping that it’s dim enough that he doesn’t notice the blush on her face.
She chews as he continues to shovel food, gracefully, into his mouth.
He continues to feed her from time to time as she tells him about her week and one of the pickier guests.
Soon, the food is gone and it’s time for her to leave and him to continue practice.
She doesn’t want to leave, she wants to stay and watch him practice but she knows she ought to go. She stays till the last possible moment, until she feels her phone vibrating in her pocket, probably driver Kim wondering why she wasn’t there where he was supposed to pick her up.
With a hurried goodbye, she makes her way back to the office.
Opening day approaches in a flash.
“Zen,” she says softly to get his attention. His ruby red eyes snap towards her, all it’s intensity and focus singularly on her. She grips his hands in hers. “You’ll be amazing up on stage. I’ll be watching you. I, who spent days and days rehearsing this script with you. I, who know how hard you’ve worked for today. No matter what anyone says, you’re amazing. You’re the man who caused thousands of fans to end up wearing glasses because they were so caught up watching your DVDs.”
“That’s right.” Zen gives her hand a squeeze. “You really know how to make people happy MC. I’m really glad that you came to support me, babe.”
She let’s out a little squeak when Zen pulls her into a hug. She returns the gesture and wraps her arms around him, revelling in his strong arms and tall frame, feeling a sense of security rush through her.
“Break a leg, Zenny. I’ll be out in the audience supporting you.” She breaks from the hug, albeit unwillingly, and heads towards her seat.
She heads towards Zen’s waiting room to see him with a goofy smile on his face.
After everyone congratulates him for a successful opening night, they finally get a minute alone.
He wraps her in another hug and all she can do is pray that he can’t hear the rapid thumps of her heart.
He takes the bouquet of flowers from her hands gratefully. “I’m really grateful to have you here, supporting me, MC.”
“Of course I’d be here,” she says so matter of factly. “Where else would I be?”
“Let’s take a selfie.” Zen suddenly suggests. “I want to show the rest of the RFA what they missed out on, especially that jerk.”
She giggles and oblige until Zen gets a ‘perfect’ photo of the two of them.
They head towards dinner with some of the cast.
Jung Wook waves them over as soon as they enter the restaurant. “Over here!”
Zen guides her towards the table, a hand on the small of her back. She recognizes a few actors and actresses she’s seen in Zen’s previous plays at the table. They give her smiles or nods of acknowledgment.
Always the gentleman, Zen pulls back her chair and gestures for her to take a seat.
Once again, she hopes no one notices the blush on her cheeks.
Zen slip into conversation about the play with the others at the table, always making sure she’s involved and comfortable.
She likes seeing this part of Zen, it’s something she doesn’t get to see on a daily basis.
Maybe it was because she was so enthralled, she doesn’t realize Jung Wook trying to get her attention.
When he touches her shoulder, it jerks her back to attention.
“Sorry.” There’s a somewhat sheepish look on Jung Wook’s face. “Did I scare you, MC?”
She shakes her head. “No, please don’t apologize, Jung Wook. I was the one who zoned out.”
“If you feel comfortable, feel free to call me Wook.” The brown haired man offers easily. “Everyone does.”
She nods. “Thank you, Wook.”
“MC,” Jung Wook begins. “Can I ask you-”
“MC! Look, they have the red velvet cake with the cream cheese icing you like.” Zen’s voice pulls her attention away and she turns back towards him, forgetting about Jung Wook.
It’s only later, when Zen is taking her home, she remembers her conversation with Jung Wook before Zen cut in.
Did Zen do that on purpose?

The total points for each category is 192 points, each group can get up to 96 points at maximum.

Practically Impractical
[Previous][First][Next][Masterpost]
Part 15
If he just takes a moment to rest his eyes perhaps he can finally get some sleep, but as soon as he does there’s the sound and he can feel the way they were thrown, everyone is yelling.
He opens his eyes, he’s sitting in his office his desktop glaring stark in front of him, Assistant Kang at her desk just outside his door.  He’d wanted to send her home when he’d seen her at her desk, the angry bruise on her forehead reminded him too much of the night before.  She would just tell him to do the same.
She too appeared exhausted and he was certain if he should choose to look she would also be attempting to sleep at her desk.  They had both booked today off due to the party and he assumed many of the clients who’d attended had done the same.  This was the reason, he suspected for the lack of work to be done.
Not that he could focus.
And then his phone sings out an email notification and he finds himself excited for the distraction.
“No, no, no,” Ms Kang calls from just outside his office. “Mr. Han don’t—”
She stands in the door but he’s already opened it.  His chest tightens and he sinks into his chair.  His vision swims and somewhere from deep underwater Ms. Kang is speaking.
“I’m sorry I must have hit the wrong button, I’m just, Mr. Han are you alright?”
“Is this what you’ve been doing all morning?” He asks when he can breathe again.
She nods slowly.
“You’re why I’ve had absolutely nothing to do today?”
“N-No,” she says. “I suspect perhaps your father has had your work delegated elsewhere after last night, I only had your emails filtered to my account to prevent you from any unnecessary interactions. She would have asked me to,” she adds quietly, “I think.”
His chest tightens.  It’s his fault. “You should go home Ms. Kang.”
“Mr. Han, I don’t think—”
“You can monitor my emails from there if you feel like you need to.  I will draft a form letter for you to respond to these concerned inquiries.”
“Mr. Han with all due respect if you are going to be here and not with her than the least I can do is—”
“The least you can do is take your day off as planned Ms. Kang,” he says sharply but he regrets it.  Calliope would scold him, Jaehee is only worried for you he can hear her say. “I’m, sorry, I just can’t stand to look at you today,” and he knows that was not the way to say it.
“I am sorry, there is nothing I can do about that Mr. Han,” she says pointedly.
“I only mean that I have enough reminders of last night, I came here to try to distract myself.”
She hovers in his doorway for a moment and then leaves, he can hear her gathering her things just outside and before she leaves she stops again and says, “It wasn’t your fault.”
It was though, he thinks.  She’d arrived to the party with a Choi twin on each arm and they greeted guests the three of them, her hair hidden beneath a red wig that matched the Choi’s bright hair.  She was Luciel’s fiancé that night and everything about her spoke to that.
He had been jealous, he had no right to be, with her so often appearing at his side, and certainly Saeyoung deserved this night, especially after the last party.  And then it had gotten over and they’d stayed to wait out the caterer’s and musicians they’d continued drinking and he still couldn’t say why he’d done it.
So late with no one to see, they were the last ones to get into the van, it was raining and she was holding both their hands, when she went to follow Luciel into the big vehicle he’d held tight to her hand pulling her back, meaning to kiss her.
Scandalous to steal a kiss so publically after she’d been so obviously with Luciel, none of his clients really associating her internet persona with the woman they’d met in passing at a business dinner.
But then there had been the squeal of tires, and he should have let go, one of them would have to, if he’d have let go perhaps she would have been as superficially injured as the rest.  She’d be at home, and his arm wouldn’t be in a sling and he wouldn’t feel this knot in his chest.
He presses his free palm to his forehead but the scratch of the bandage only adds to the feeling. He’s tearing at the tape, trying to push up his sleeve with his restrained arm when his phone vibrates and meows.
He freezes, he doesn’t want to touch it, doesn’t want to know what it says but he has to.
Two words.  She’s awake.
*
“Do you want to stay home from school today?”
Saeren glares at him from over Max’s head as she sits at the table.  He keeps his hands in his lap and tries to think, she’s a smart kid, will she notice he’s wearing different glasses? They’re not that different from his old ones but she’s observant.
“Does Mom have something planned today?”
He can hear his brother silently screaming at him from the coffee maker but he has no idea what to say.  He shoves a pastry in his mouth so he doesn’t have to talk.  Max shrugs and eats her cereal.
It had gone so wrong, were they cursed?  Was he being punished?  Two parties now and he couldn’t save her this time.  He remembered the way she smiled at him when he’d held out the dress.  The colours, the print, it would match his suit, Saeren had complained when they found him something to match but he’d gone along with it.  When Callie smiled like that, even his brother couldn’t say no.
The way she’d laugh and say “Oh no I think you’re thinking of my agent,” or “Wow, I didn’t realize we looked so alike,” when one of Jumin’s clients thought they’d recognized her.
“Oh no, that’s Ms. Miller you’re thinking of,” she laughed shaking one man’s hand.  “Calliope, not Callie.  I’m the talent, she’s the brains.”
“Really?” He’d responded amazed.  “She played the piano that evening so beautifully, it’s a shame you’re not her.”
He’d teased her about the way her mouth twitched.  Knowing she hated to shift the praise.
“Did you have a good time at your party?” Max asks him and he jumps.
“Mostly,” Saeren says sitting at the table, staring holes into his head.
“Did Mom, go to Mr. Han’s?” She was more perceptive than the entirety of the RFA.  It’s not like he can lie to her, and Callie wouldn’t want him to, but she was a sensitive kid, he knows she won’t tell him if she’s scared, he’s seen the ways she’s like her mother.
“No,” he starts, not sure where he’s going to go.  What he’s going to say.
It had turned so fast.  She was going to go to Jumin’s, he’d had her attention all night and they’d been drinking, as much as he wanted to join them, the smell of alcohol on his partners breath had always been a trigger for him.
The thunder had cracked and there was a flash of light across the sky and she was calling out a waltz insisting they dance with her.
“Why are you wasting this?” She laughed at them.  Yoosung’s coat draped over her shoulders.  Jumin had caught it when she threw out her arms and spun in the lamplight, slipped it up over her arms proper; whispered something in her ear. He didn’t care what it was; he loved the way it had made her eyes sparkle as she threw herself at him, a sloppy kiss on his cheek. Come with us, she almost begged.
But he was going home, they were almost late, and they’d finally found a sitter Max liked.
She was half in the Van, laughing, caught between him and Jumin.  He thought it was the thunder again, but everything is spinning and he’s trying to stay calm, remember the things he’d learned.  He tells himself Jumin will let her go and tries to pull her in but his arm is pulled out and he’s almost tumbling after her when something hits him and Zen has him by the shoulders.
He flexes his fingers in the brace. Saeren coughs.  Max is staring at him.
“You’re Mom’s ok,” he starts, again.  But Max’s jaw sets and she puts her spoon down.
“I’m going to pack my school bag, I don’t think I want to stay home, thanks.”
Shit. He stumbles out of his chair and catches her, his good hand on her shoulder, he kneels down and tries to make her look at him. “She’s ok, I promise, she’s ok,” he says, begging, hoping it’s true.
But Max won’t turn around.  He pulls her tiny body into a hug with his good arm, the brace trapped between them. “I’m sorry,” he whispers into her wild hair. “She’s ok, I’m sorry.”
And then his brother is there, he’s gathering Max up into his arms and walking away whispering in her ear and Saeyoung is left kneeling in the kitchen.  He can feel the tears welling in his eyes when his phone vibrates.
She’s ok, he begs pulling the phone out of his pocket.  She’s alright, he whispers as he unlocks it.  It’s not so bad, he breathes opening the message.
She’s awake.
