the animation in the mario movie trailer is so fucking stunning, jack black knocked it out of the park with bowser he ACTUALLY sounds like the character, even toad's voice bears a resemblance but is unique in a new way, so its SUCH a goddamn shame that chrisprat seemingly couldn't even be bothered to at least try to sound like mario

I genuinely don’t know because I try to not follow celeb news too much but I would like to know because if there’s too many terrible people, then I’m also out

Well the main reason I was talking about how all the actors are shitty is because of the situation that is currently going on with Sebastian. Right now he’s being called out (again??) for associating himself with racists. There are other actors who are just generally problematic like RDJ for supporting crisp ratt and Kat Dennings who is apparently pro-israel(?). It’s not just the actors though. For instance, a lot of Romani people were rightfully upset about how Wanda was horribly whitewashed in wandavision and at Elizabeth Olsen for saying the g-slur in one of her interviews.

Anyways, too many of the mcu actors are just super toxic. I’d understand if it was some small slip up or something but these are grown ass adults who should know better. They have really big platforms but refuse to be responsible and use them properly. Either way I’m just really disappointed :/

The Tmr War has a lot of cool concepts but the execution feels like. weirdly out of order and not as emotionally punchy as it could have been.

the midpoint climax where chrisprat is forced to sacrifice his future-daughter doesn't feel hard-hitting because their conversation never goes outside "but i can't let you die! i have to save you!" never once do neither of them bring up the fact that if chrisprat sacrifices his future-daughter and successfully brings the toxin back in time, he would then have created a new timeline where the war never happens, and his future-daughter never dies from the alien attack.

like imagine if we had to watch him come to terms with that. willingly sacrificing his future-daughter so he can save her in the new timeline. he tearfully says goodbye, travels back in time with the toxin as his future-daughter dies, and finds his present-daughter, who is obviously alive and well, and even though he is traumatized and sad he had to sacrifice future-daughter, he can at least have the peace of mind he made the hard but right decision.

except that doesn't happen! he doesn't seem to realize bringing the toxin back in time will in turn save future-daughter! he is adamant on saving her right then and there and only goes back in time because the time gauntlet forced him to! (and yeah you could make the argument he was emotional and didn't want to see his daughter die in any form but to me it just makes the scene increasingly annoying to watch)

and then!! for some reason when he gets back with the toxin, he suddenly becomes obsessed with the idea that the whole mission was useless and he Has to deploy the toxin himself. and we're like huh? but didn't all of this go to plan? isn't it the whole point that he brings the toxin back so they can use it to attack the aliens the First Moment they appear?

and we don't find out why he's like this until five minutes later when we are told the world is too busy rioting about the prospective end of the world to put any effort into putting the toxin to good use. and it's like. shouldn't this information have been given first!!

imagine he makes it back to present time and is finally ready for a life of peace with present-daughter, whom he had successfully saved from future alien death, only to be punched in the gut with that fact, that he went through ALL THAT - forcibly drafted to the future war, sacrificing his daughter, bringing the toxin back - for NOTHING. THAT would have fueled his determination and decision to deploy the toxin himself. THAT would have made his decision more audience-grabbing rather than us going "huh?? but why??"

anyway i'm not going to act like i would have written a better story because i know real screenwriting is hard but also i just like to. overthink abt movies
