Beyond Your Wildest Dreams

GOOD MORNING FAM!! Hope you all had amazing weekends! I know I did, I went upstate to visit family and it was the refresher I needed this week! Then Pastor Carl preached the paint off the walls at church and I was completely filled with God’s presence and love… I love being surrounded by people who are on fire for the Lord. So today I was convicted to talk about the idea of pursuing our callings.  I know for me this has been something I have struggled with my ENTIRE life. I have always been a hobby swapper haha, meaning I would do an activity get decent at then decide I wanted to try something else.  I am so grateful my mom allowed me try everything but as an adult I have ended up being mediocre at many things instead of amazing at one thing… as I think about this I wonder is it awesome to have all that experience, I mean I did see what I liked and didn’t like but I also feel like I am behind the pack in realizing what it is I need to do with my life. I get so envious of people who know exactly what their calling is, like it makes me crazy because I’m here at 24 still struggling to pick a career path… I have prayed and prayed for God to reveal things to me and never see results, but this morning while I was on my way to work Jaz and I were chatting about this and came to the conclusion that a lot of the time we miss the things God is doing for us because we are SO focused on what we think he hasn’t delivered.  We are looking for wild crazy signs but if we can’t just sit in silence and focus on him and hear him, how do we expect him to trust us with huge miracles? I know God’s plan for my life is crazier and more fierce than anything I could ever even dream of but in order for me to truly embrace my calling I need to cling to God, and listen even when I don’t want to, because once I start to see the small things he is working on then without fail the bigger things will be revealed, I mean he is the most faithful so I have no doubt in my mind he will follow through no matter what it is you are praying for, keep your ears and heart open and let him speak to you!

SCRIPTURE: John 20:11-16

Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!”

OBSERVATION:

Mary stricken with grief has returned to Jesus’ tomb, she is desperately searching for him, she thinks someone has moved his body and is beside herself.  Jesus is actually right in front of her and she doesn’t realize that is him until he calls her name then she is overcome with joy, she has been reunited with Jesus after he has been resurrected.

APPLICATION:

How many times do we miss blessings and things God wants for us because we are so set in our own ways, stuck in our own feelings? We need to rise up and open our eyes and see what God has done for us and what he is still doing in us right now! We have to open our ears this week and just listen, hear God whisper to your soul and follow through with what he is asking you to do! Once that happens, things you never dreamed were possible will start to take shape! God is faithful you just have to be open to the idea that it’s not always going to look the way you want it to look!

PRAYER:

God thank you so much for remaining faithful even when we are not. God I pray that this week you would speak into the hearts of all the people in this group and that they would be so available and ready to move on your behalf.  God I pray that this week we will see the doors that are open and walk through them instead of standing at a door we think we need to walk through! God your plans are always bigger and better than we could ever dream of and I pray we would never lose faith even when we think we are being left behind! That the Holy Spirit would overcome us and lead us on the path we need to be on.  I pray for patience and to remain consistent in pursuing things you have placed on our hearts because in your timing everything will come into fruition. Thank you for everything you have done for me and changed within me! I know the best is yet to come and you have only shown us a glimpse of the things you are about to do for the everyone in this group! In Jesus’ name we pray AMEN
