Being ace due to trauma seriously sucks.

I used to be able to write smutty or erotic scenes in fic that now make me freeze up and panic. I used to be able to enjoy physical intimacy with my partner(s) and feel confident in myself. Now I'm sex repulsed through no fault of my own and it fucking sucks.

Is the level of acceptance for ace people in the community much better now than when I graduated high school in 2015? By leaps and fuckin bounds. Do I love my fellow aces? Very much. Mad respect.

But I won't lie and say I don't miss the ability to think about my own or a partner's nude body and feel excitement rather than fear/anxiety.
