16 bölümlük amaçsız bir dizi. Giriş gelişme ve sonuç olarak yazılmış, ilk okul kompozisyon ödevi tadında bir senaryosu var. Konu olarak, tatlı bir giriş yaparak bana çok umut vaat etmişti. Eğlenceli, şeker şerbet, kafa yormadan gülümseyerek izleyeceğimi düşünmüştüm… Böyle olacağını kim tahmin edebilirdi ki.

Dizi, annesini küçük yaşta kaybetmiş, babası yeniden evlenmiş olan Eun Ha-Won(Park So Dam) isimli lise son sınıf öğrencisi kızımız ile başlıyor. Birde üvey kız kardeşi var. Babası kamyon şoförü olduğu için hep evden uzakta, kötü kalpli üvey annesi ve kardeşi kızımıza bol bol eziyet ediyorlar. Evde hizmetçi muamelesi gören bu Cindrella kılıklı kızımız, evin balkonunda yaşıyor, bütün ev işlerini yapıyor. Öte yandan üniversiteye hazırlanırken, part-time işlerde çalışıp para biriktiriyor. Üniversiteyi kazandığını öğrendiklerinde ise üvey annesi kıskançlıktan kızımızı eşortmanları ile kapının önüne koyuyor.

Kızımız evsiz barksız kalmışken bir takım olaylar oluyor ve çok zengin olan Haneul Grup'un başkanıyla yolları kesişiyor. Yaşlı başkanın 3 oğlu da aynı trafik kazasında ölmüş, her oğlundan birer erkek torunu var. Ama hepsi birbirinden değişik ve birbirleri ile asla anlaşamıyorlar. Başkan, kızımız ile karşılaştığında davranışlarından çok etkileniyor ve ona bir görev veriyor. Eğer bu görevi yapabilirse, üniversite harcını ödeyeceğini söylüyor. Görevinin ana fikri, birbirinden nefret eden 3 kuzenin yaşadığı malikaneye taşınıp, kuzenlerin arasını düzeltmek. Tek şart evde herhangi bir romantik yakınlaşma olması yasak. İşte dizi böyle başlıyor.

Burada yeri gelmişken söylemem gerekiyor ki, kızı evden attıklarından tutun, son bölüme kadar o eşortmanları üzerinden çıkartmadı ya, daha da bir şey demiyorum. Dizi yapıyorsunuz, bir modacıyla çalışmıyorsanız bile, akıl danışsaydınız keşke. Bütün bir sezon, yalnızca rengi değişen pijamalarla ortada dolaştı. Tamam anladık fakir de ne gerek vardı, biz zaten anladık fakir olduğunu.

Toparlayacak olursak, elimizde bir Cinderella’mız var, diğer dizilerdeki kadın baş roller ile karşılaştırıldığında hafif tombul sayılabilecek kızımızı ben açıkçası hiç beğenmedim. Dizinin isminde geçen 4 şövalye için yeterince rol��nü doldurduğunu düşünmüyorum. Neyse 4 adet şövalyemiz ; biri umursamaz, biri prens, biri dost canlısı. 3 etti değil mi? 4.prensi dizinin içine gizlemişler. Bütün afişlerde kimin 4.prens olduğunu bilmemize rağmen dizi içerisinde kendisi yalnızda sekreter. Aslına bakarsanız kız ile de alakası yok. Hatta Cinderellamız ile sahneleri bile sınırlı.

Pek yapmam ama kısaca şövalyelerden bahsedeyim, zira dizide pek bahsi geçecek bir şey olmuyor :)

Şövalye no 1 : KANG JI WOON (JUNG IL WOO) Kendisi babasının kim olduğunu bilmeden büyümüş, babasının ölümü ile de aileye katılmak zorunda kalmış. Kuzenler arasındaki en asi olan bu şövalyemiz. Zengin hayata alışık olmayan, kavgacı, başına buyruk biri.

Şövalye no 2: KANG HYUN MIN (AHN JAE HYUN) Dudaklar her daim parıl parıl parlayan bu kuzen ise Haneul Grup'un bir numaralı varisi. En büyük özelliği çapkınlığı. Bol bol para harcayıp, sağda solda boy göstermeyi seviyor. Bütün kadınlarla flört etmesine rağmen ilk aşkına saplanıp kalmış.

Şövalye no 3: KANG SEO WOO (LEE JUNG SHIN) Diğer iki kuzenin aksine kendi halinde, kendi çapında başarı elde etmiş dost canlısı şövalyemiz. CNBlue grubunun üyesi, müziği ile kendi dünyasına yaşıyor. Etliye sütlüye karışmayan cinsten. İki hırçın karakterden sonra biraz havayı yumuşatmak istemiş olacaklar ki 3. Prensimizi böyle yazmışlar.

Şövalye no 4: CHOI MIN (LEE YOON SUNG) Bu şövalyemiz, şövalye olduğunu bilmeyen, kuzen bile olmayan bir karakter. Dizinin ismini Cindrella ve 3 şövalye olarak değiştirseler kimse yadırgamaz. Kendisi Başkanın sekreteri.

Dizi boyunca, evet gerçekten dizi sonuna kadar Cinderellamızı topaç gibi bir o kolundan çekiyor bir diğeri. Ne istediğini bilmeyen bir senaryo ile, karakterlerde kararsızlık timsali gibi görünüyor. Şövalye 2, kızın nişanlısı olduğunu söylüyor. Şövalye 3 kıza aşk mektupları yazıyor. Şövalye 1 istemem yan cebime koy modunda. Kızımız oradan oraya çekiştirilip duruyor. Ve maalesef bu çekiştirmeler mecaz değil. Kızı gören kolundan tutup bir tur döndürüyor. O kadar benzer sahne çekmişler ki… Bir de sürekli bir yanlış anlama, tam söyleyecekken vazgeçme, karar değiştirme, onun iyiliği için susma gibi Kore dizilerinde asla olmayan uzatmalar söz konusu.

Anladığım kadarı ile oyuncular kendi çapında tanınan beğenilen sevilen oyuncular. Böyle bir senaryoyu nasıl kabul etmişler hiç aklım almadı. Neyse ki bunun tasası bana düşmez. Ben fikrimi beyan edeyim geçeyim. Bir başka değinmek istediğim nokta ise dizideki kötü karakterler. Bu noktada kötülerin kötülük yapamaması güzeldi. En azından ortada dönüp duran bir topaç izlerken, bir yandan da kötülere sinir olmuyorsunuz. Neredeyse yapılan bütün kötülükler sonuçsuz kalıyor. Kızı evden atan üvey annesi, kızın sefalet içinde yaşamasını beklerken, kızımız malikanede yaşıyor gibi örnek verebilirim. Öte yandan iyilerin kötülere olan Poliyanna tavrı beni ifrit etti. Kötülük yapmış ama bir sor bakalım neden yapmış diye, bütün itlikleri affeden koca yürekli insanlar yazmışlar.

Bir de iyi mi kötü mü olduğu belli olmayan, hatta ne istediğinden bile emin olmayan ikinci kız karakterimiz var. Şövalye 2 nin ilk aşkı, şövalye 1’in yakın arkadaşı olan bu kızımız o kadar amaçsız ki, hinlik yapıp yapmamaya bile karar veremiyor. Zaten o kadar donuk bir oyunculuk sergiliyor ki buz kesiyorsunuz.

Kaldıkları malikaneye iki çift lafım olacak. O kadar zengin, o kadar kocaman bir mekanda çekim yapılmış ama sahnelerin çoğu hapishane avlusu gibi bir alan kullanmışlar. Bütün kuzenlerin kaldığı odaların balkonu aynı avluya bakıyor. Balkon dediğime bakmayın zaten zemin kat. Yine balkon dediğime bakmayın avlu da öyle dış mekan gibi değil. Gerçek anlamda hapishaneyi andıran bir mimariye sahip. O kadar kocaman yerin hiç mi başka çekim yapacak yeri yoktu Allah aşkına.

Sonuna kadar neden izledim? Amaçsızlık başıma vurmuş olacak ki, asla bir sondaki bölümü merak etmeden sonuna kadar izledim. İnanmazsınız, sempatik diyebileceğim 3-5 sahneden keyif bile aldım. Şaka bir yana İzlemesi çok zor bir dizi değil. Türk dizilerini andıran bir havası var. Biz millet olarak bize işkence eden dizileri izlemeyi seviyoruz.

Sonuç olarak toparlamam gerekirse gerçekten izleyecek bir şey bulamazsanız, zaman geçirmek için izlenebilecek bir dizi. Burada belirteyim ki diziyi beğenen bir kitlede mevcut. Benim aksime çok severek de izleyebilirsiniz.

BTOB - For you

A 16-episode series with no clear direction. The script feels like a primary school composition, with a beginning, middle, and end. It started off sweetly and promised a lot of potential—fun, lighthearted, and something I could watch with a smile without overthinking. But who could have predicted it would turn out like this?

The series begins with Eun Ha-won (Park So-dam), a high school senior who lost her mother at a young age and whose father remarried. She also has a stepsister. Her father, a truck driver, is often away from home, leaving her at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and stepsister, who torment her relentlessly. Treated like a servant, our Cinderella-like heroine lives on the balcony and does all the housework. Meanwhile, she works part-time jobs to save money while preparing for college. When she gets accepted into university, her stepmother, out of jealousy, kicks her out of the house in her sweatpants.

Homeless and desperate, a series of events leads her to cross paths with the wealthy chairman of Haneul Group. The chairman’s three sons died in a car accident, leaving behind three grandsons, each very different and constantly at odds with each other. Impressed by Ha-won’s behavior, the chairman offers her a deal: if she can complete a task, he’ll pay her college tuition. Her mission? Move into the mansion where the three feuding cousins live and reconcile them. The only condition: no romantic involvement. And so, the series begins.

Here’s something I need to mention: from the moment she’s kicked out of the house until the final episode, she never changes out of those sweatpants. I won’t say more. If you’re making a drama, even if you’re not working with a stylist, you should at least consult someone. For an entire season, she wandered around in pajamas that only changed colors. Okay, we get it—she’s poor. But was it really necessary to hammer that point home so much?

To summarize, we have a Cinderella who, compared to other female leads in dramas, is slightly chubby. Honestly, I didn’t like her much. As for the four knights mentioned in the title, I don’t think they lived up to their roles. Wait, four knights? One is indifferent, one is princely, and one is friendly. That’s three, right? They hid the fourth prince within the series. While we know from the posters who the fourth prince is, in the show, he’s just the secretary. In fact, he has little to do with Cinderella and barely shares any scenes with her.

I don’t usually do this, but let me briefly introduce the knights, since there’s not much else to talk about in the series:

Knight No. 1: Kang Ji-woon (Jung Il-woo) He grew up not knowing who his father was and had to join the family after his father’s death. The most rebellious of the cousins, he’s unaccustomed to wealth, hot-headed, and a lone wolf.

Knight No. 2: Kang Hyun-min (Ahn Jae-hyun) With lips that are always glossy, this cousin is the primary heir to Haneul Group. His defining trait is his playboy nature. He loves spending money and showing off, but he’s stuck on his first love.

Knight No. 3: Kang Seo-woo (Lee Jung-shin) Unlike the other two, this cousin is easygoing, successful in his own way, and friendly. A member of CNBlue, he lives in his own world of music. He’s the type to stay out of trouble, likely added to soften the tension between the other two.

Knight No. 4: Choi Min (Lee Yoon-sung) This knight doesn’t even know he’s a knight and isn’t actually a cousin. He’s the chairman’s secretary. Honestly, they could’ve renamed the series Cinderella and the Three Knights, and no one would’ve batted an eye.

Throughout the series, Cinderella is pulled around like a top, with one cousin tugging her this way and another that way. The indecisive script makes the characters seem equally unsure of themselves. Knight 2 claims she’s his fiancée. Knight 3 writes her love letters. Knight 1 acts all aloof. Meanwhile, our heroine is dragged around endlessly—literally. Someone grabs her arm and spins her around in almost every episode. And let’s not forget the endless misunderstandings, moments of hesitation, sudden changes of heart, and noble silences that drag the plot out unnecessarily.

From what I gather, the actors are well-liked and respected in their own right. I can’t fathom why they agreed to such a script. But that’s not my problem. I’ll just share my thoughts and move on. Another point worth mentioning is the villains. It was refreshing that they weren’t overly evil. At least while watching the human top spin around, you don’t get too annoyed by the villains. Almost all their misdeeds end up having no consequences. For example, the stepmother kicks her out, expecting her to suffer, but instead, she ends up living in a mansion. On the other hand, the Pollyanna-like forgiveness of the good characters drove me up the wall. They’d forgive every wrong, always asking, “But why did they do it?” as if that justified everything.

Then there’s the second female lead, whose motives are unclear, and who can’t even decide whether to be good or bad. She’s Knight 2’s first love and Knight 1’s close friend, but she’s so aimless that she can’t even commit to being a proper antagonist. Her acting is so wooden it’s chilling.

A word about the mansion: it’s supposed to be this grand, luxurious place, but most of the scenes are shot in what looks like a prison courtyard. All the cousins’ rooms open onto this same courtyard. And by courtyard, I mean a space that feels more like an indoor prison yard. With such a massive estate, couldn’t they find a better location to shoot?

Why did I watch it all the way through? I must’ve been struck by a wave of aimlessness because I made it to the end without ever being curious about the next episode. Believe it or not, I even enjoyed a few scenes. Jokes aside, it’s not a hard series to watch. It has a vibe similar to Turkish dramas, and we, as a nation, seem to enjoy torturing ourselves with such shows.

In conclusion, if you’re really out of things to watch and just need to kill time, this series might do the trick. That said, there’s an audience that genuinely enjoys it. Unlike me, you might end up loving it.
