Kingkay - Nick exclaims he is cold. Eric starts taking off his jacket. But he keeps going until he is top-to-toe naked, exclaiming that "cuddling via skin-to-skin contact is the most efficient way to warm up". Nick is into this.

Jalim - Salim exclaims he is cold. Jason starts taking off his jacket. Before Salim can say "thank you", Jason throws the jacket on the ground and sets it on fire. Trying to be romantic, Jason pulls out the "I'd set myself on fire if it meant keeping you warm" line. Salim is not pleased.

My second-favorite would be removing Nick from the love triangle :-( I absolutely love Royalty (that's my ship name for Eric and Rachel :D) and think it would've been cool to focus on Nick's trauma more.

Things that could’ve fixed the awkward Eric/Rachel/Nick drama in House of Ashes imo:

The love triangle is omitted entirely and the fandom is left to ship as it pleases

They have the conversation before the briefing and that’s that

They try to have the conversation in the Star Cave and get shamed into dropping it for the time being by Jason and Salim

(Alternately, Jason steps in Murray Bauman-style and insists they get their shit together before they drive him insane)

There’s no big conversation at all, just a little tension from knowing there’s a problem but they’re professional and save that for post-game

All three have multiple chances to bond Jalim-style depending on dialogue options and QTEs, possibly resulting in them behaving more like a polycule by the end

Rachel straight-up kisses Clarice in front of Nick and Eric after they make it to the “safety” of the temple

1. my beloveds okay, i was in pleasant shock when saw a "young love" plot line (i didn't know anything about TDiM when i started it so didn't expect to get lesbians)

2. Jamie and Erin already have such a wonderful dynamic to begin with, having bounced around each other before taking the leap after enough flustering and teasing. They care so deeply for each other, and one losing the other is beyond heartbreaking. Erin even admits how much she doesn't want to lose Jamie, which makes my heart scream and yell and cry and oh my god

3. They're sweet, they're cute, they're canon! Supermassive finally gave us an official queer couple that can get together and Jerin deserves some recognition for that. <3

4. I mean, its Jerin! They're relationship is so cute and interesting even if they don't get together, its so clear when they don't they still very much love and adore each other and have so much more to say. And when they ARE together they are just so cute and gentle to each other. The perfect couple <3 (also they are a very rare non-white biracial lesbian couple that aren't toxic or weird so the representation they hold is just <3)
