i will say after rereading the entire Red Dragon/Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal trilogy (Again,) that it's stupid and bullshit that the show called fucking Hannibal is about him and Will Graham (an encounter that is not even unique in Lecter's career)

and not about Hannibal Lecter finding a stand-in for his sister who got cannibalized (which is his main trauma) in Clarice Starling (who started out bartering childhood traumas for info on a serial killer and has subsequently been hunting him for years) by way of her dead-daddy complex, and her pulling a stop-gap reversal on his kill-Clarice-to-bring-back-Mischa plan by replacing it with a Mommy Dom complex.

That is SO MUCH more fucking interesting WHY ARE WE IGNORING GIRLBOSS CLARICE
