While I am not a Boston Bruins fan I would like to take a moment to express my admiration and appreciation for Mr. Bergeron's career and the fact that he dressed up like Elmo for a Halloween zoom call with kids at a children's hospital.
Cheers, sir. We salute you.

Gotta give Beyonce kudos 4 taking care of Family in the Maryland/ DC Metro Area. A Rain Delay pushed back her Show Time @ FEDEX Field past the End of Public Transit Service. While other Entertainers spend $100K on gaudy jewelry, Beyonce spent $100K to keep ALL 90+ TRAIN STATIONS OPEN. This gesture is why the 'BeyHive' remains loyal. When We talk about Black 'Kings' & 'Queens', it's not in the European perspective, but rather in the sense of a Role Model presenting a Standard of Behavior 4 others 2 follow.
I have my critique of Beyonce, but I also give Credit when it's due. It's pretty clear that she takes her role as 'Queen Bee' seriously. Her concern 4 the welfare of her fans is obvious; I also find it refreshing. I hope that other Entertainers follow her example, but imagine if All of Us showed a basic concern 4 Our neighbors?
-Well done Bey!

LinkedIn Lawsuit Over AI Training Data Dismissed
A proposed class action lawsuit accusing LinkedIn of violating the privacy of millions of Premium customers by disclosing their private messages to train generative artificial intelligence models has been dismissed. The plaintiff, Alessandro De La Torre, filed a notice of dismissal without prejudice in the federal court of San Jose, California, nine days after initiating the lawsuit. This action followed LinkedIn's assertion that the lawsuit lacked merit.
Tumblr media
Allegations and LinkedIn's Response
De La Torre alleged that LinkedIn breached its commitment to use customers' personal data solely to enhance its services by sharing private messages with third parties involved in AI development. He pointed to an unauthorized disclosure revealed when LinkedIn updated its privacy policy in September, noting that a new account setting to prevent data sharing would not affect prior AI training.
In response, LinkedIn's legal team, led by Vice President Sarah Wight, emphasized that the company had never shared private member messages with third parties for AI training purposes. This stance was reiterated in a public LinkedIn post, aiming to reassure users about the company's data handling practices.
Implications and Future Considerations
The dismissal of this lawsuit highlights the ongoing challenges and scrutiny tech companies face regarding data privacy and the use of personal information in AI model training. While this particular case has been resolved, it underscores the need for clear communication and robust data protection measures to maintain user trust and comply with evolving privacy regulations.
As AI technologies continue to advance, companies like LinkedIn must navigate the complex landscape of data usage, ensuring transparency and adherence to privacy commitments to prevent future legal challenges.

“Some Walmart shoppers nationwide could soon get money back from the retailer, as part of a $45 million settlement it's paying to resolve a class-action lawsuit alleging deceptive business practices.
Customers who purchased certain "weighted goods" — including meat, poultry, pork and seafood products — and bagged citrus in person at Walmart locations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico between Oct. 19, 2018 and Jan. 19, 2024 may be eligible for cash payments, according to the settlement administrator's website.” Rachel Treisman
