Luxembourg's first two winning songs, "Nous Les Amoureux" from 1961 by Jean-Claude Pascal and "Poupée De Cire, Poupée De Son" by France Gall from 1965, were deemed controversial at the time. This was because Pascal's song discussed homosexuality via the usage of vague pronouns and Gall's song was jam packed with double entendre.

Character profile (adapted from Wikipedia):

Anne is the youngest in the group, and generally takes care of the domestic duties during the Five's various camping holidays. As the youngest (ten years old in the first book of the series), she is more likely than the others to be frightened, and does not really enjoy the adventures as much as her brothers and her cousin. She sometimes lets her tongue run away with her, but ultimately she is as brave and resourceful as the others. She likes doing the domestic things such as planning, organising and preparing meals, and keeping where they are staying clean and tidy, be it a cave, house, tent or caravan. In Smuggler's Top it is suggested she is claustrophobic, as she is frightened of enclosed spaces, which remind her of bad dreams. But the adventures invariably lead the Five into tunnels, down wells, and into dungeons and other enclosed spaces, demonstrating how brave she really is.

Anne keeps the same general characterisation in Claude Voilier’s continuation series ‘Les Cinq’, although she occasionally insists that her brothers and cousin take part in household-y chores.

Claude - Knight of Wands

The next character in our “Pedro’s Characters as Tarot Cards” is Claude, from HouseBroken. Claude represents the Knight of Wands.

Knight of Wands is a a passionate and bold Knight. He is full of fire energy, enthusiasm and courage. Charming and ready to conquer, he’s action oriented and will jump in on any new mission and he will accomplish it. A person represented by this card is energetic, bold and adventurous. They are unafraid to seek new experiences and they will do it enthusiastically. Dynamic, ready for action, impulsive, spontaneous and with a fiery and spirited temperament, he thrives on new challenges. The thing about this Knight, though, is that he might lose the interest in something as fast as it started. He may go hot and cold suddenly, with a flame that burns twice as bright and burns half as long.

Claude is a hairless cat who meets Tabitha, another hairless cat (at first sight) and he falls for her fast and hard. He flirts with Tabitha and he comes on strong, being charming and seeing her as an exciting new challenge. He goes after her, charming and bold, unafraid to go for what he wants. When he finally convinces her, they have a dinner date in an alley with a leftover pizza box, in which he draws a portrait of Tabitha within the pizza cardboard with the rest of the pizza leftovers. He doesn’t hesitate, he acts passionately and spontaneously. However, once Tabitha confesses to him that she isn’t a hairless car, showing him some new hair growing on her head, he completely drops her saying she’s “disgusting”, turning around and leaving, going cold and losing interest in her just as fast as he fell for her. He says he is not a hair guy, and since she is a “hairy” he wants nothing to do with Tabitha anymore, walking out on her and not looking back. This strong and energetic character who passionately goes for what he wants but can suddenly lose all interest is our Knight of Wands.
