Tumblr media
Honestly? Since Tsukasa and Nene are currently my least favorites in the manga, I did not care for most of the chapter but I do have a handful of thoughts about the clock keepers!
Idk how to start, so I'll just ramble.
The owl's eyes are like the clock keeper's masks, the only ones that don't seem to have mechanical glassy eyes are the baby owls.
Tumblr media
And Mirai, the kid of the keepers, is the one I have never seen wear a mask. I doubt there is any deep meaning but it does make me wonder if she even has a mask she can wear.
EDIT: Mirai does wear the mask!
Tumblr media
The lack of tubes attached to the baby owls is cool to, it makes me headcanon that they feed on visitors' time to grow up and only after maturing does the time they steal go somewhere else.
Mirai stole the show though so let's talk about her! The clock on her neck ticks in the boundary, it tics very loudly, but it stays silent outside the boundary.
The only time she made clock sounds before this arc was when using her power to age things up. (and even then, the sound of her neck clock is implied to be faaar louder than her 'what i touch grows old' ticking)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So far I can only think of two reasons why:
1-) Her clock only tic inside the boundary.
2-) She is using a special power she doesn't normally use to judge Tsukasa, which is the option I am more inclined to believe. Since her behavior and speech changed.
If this power uses time in any way to be activated (be it her time, or something else), I do not know, but I adore her judge hammer. Is really cool. Destroy him girl.
Tumblr media
There is also a hierarchy of power.
Akane is the weakest, Natsuhiko called him 'the grunt' for a reason, he is bascally an intern of the clock keepers. So now that Mirai is revealed to be in the middle, my suspicion that Kako is the big boss has been given a thumbs up.
Tumblr media
I am excited to see more of her. Just look how cute she is, with her little bow and dramatic entrance!
And I do wonder what happens when someone is marked as 'guilty'
Tumblr media
But what made me insane in this chapter is the way they connect the clock keepers with the idea of judgment. And how that made Akane being chosen as a clockkeeper finally click.
I always adored how opinionated and judgemental Akane is, and how strong his sense of justice is, but I didn't connect the dots that he is the perfect pick for the role until Elise mentioned it, reminding me that Akane is the one that gives others characters the most call outs in the manga, he is an amazing voice of reason. He has been passing his judgment on others since his introduction as a clock keeper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hell, the reason he hates the clock keepers so much in the first place is because he considers their actions (tricking him/almost killing Aoi) unforgivable.
I want Akane to have a hammer of judgment so bad, because it fits him so much. He needs to throw hammers at people, I think he deserves to throw hammers at people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
tldr: this chapter makes me want to give Akane a hammer so bad it makes me look stupid. If I didn't have an art block I would have drawn it myself.

Im.sure someone already said this but I was asleep so I wanna talk about the beginning of ch 112
Spoilers below
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Theyre talking about amane!!! Its hanako!!!
In the world where tsukasa never leaves the red house amane grows up without "damaged roots" (his circulation condition) and becomes the "prettier version" of himself (alive, not a killer etc)
But, thus isn't the hanako she wants, the one that will necer reach its full potential is the one she put so much effort into , it's important and she wants "that plant" back

Note
I don't understand the attitude of The Clock Keepers towards Tsukasa. It's like they don't know about him at all. Although in chapter 54, Shijima asks Tsukasa to leave, saying that his appearance will not lead to anything good and she has heard about No.3 (I hope you understand what I'm talking about, because tbh I couldn't find these pages in English on sites with manga--) So other mysteries are aware of him, but not the no.1?? (I'm writing with a translator, so I'm sorry for the mistakes. I love your blog, with love from Russia <3)
Well, they're not the only ones who don't know about Tsukasa's existence, number three didn't know either.
Tumblr media
In reality, the mysteries don't seem to know much about each other, besides, Tsukasa is a yorishiro, the idea is that no one finds out what and where the yorishiro of the school mystery is, because it is a weak point.
Hanako doesn't know about the yorishiros in the other mysteries, not even the Tsuchigomori one. It turns out that Hanako's yorishiro is a human, Tsukasa, he can just go around making a mess, unlike the others, who were objects. Sumire, being the only human besides Tsukasa, couldn't leave the boundary alone, so not even Hanako knew she was a yorishiro.
In Shijima's case, Tsukasa went after her, not the other way around, there's a panel where she says she knew what he did with number three, and she prefers to avoid him. (I couldn't find the panels for some reason either XD)
Tumblr media
Other than her, we don't know of any other mystery who knows about Tsukasa's existence (Mitsuba doesn't count), and she only knows because he went looking for her.
And because "someone" told her about what happened to number three, but who was it? those hands? There was no one there besides Hanako, Nene, Kou, Tsukasa and Mitsuba, who would have told her? Mitsuba only met her after Tsukasa went after her, Hanako would never talk about it with her, Nene and Kou didn't know Mei before entering the PP arc, there's a missing piece here.
Who told her?
Another important point, Tsukasa is working in the shadows, he used Hanako and the other two to do his work. Tsukasa may appear to them, but he is never where Teru or Akane are.
See that even now when he meets Teru, he doesn't say a word to him. Akane and Teru know about Tsukasa, but I don't imagine they knew he was Hanako's yorishiro, after all, it's contradictory, if he killed his brother, why would he be the yorishiro?
Anyway, I think Tsuchigomori knows about Tsukasa's existence, but he prefers not to get involved. The clock keepers preferred to stay away from Hanako from the beginning, so they wouldn't know anything about his history.
It's interesting, but that's exactly what it's about, Tsukasa is the youngest twin that nobody knows, nobody knows about his existence, and that's particularly interesting.

In the first chapters of the Clock-Keeper arc, Mirai turns students into old people, along with aging Akane and Nene’s Homeroom. But she goes out of her way to age everyone she passes, excluding Kou, Nene, and Aoi.
In the panels of her running through the halls, along with when she ages up Kou, she does it with the intention of “making them hotter”. This could imply a few things
1. Mirai is blind/visually impaired in some way, and isn’t able to tell what the students look like, and only believes she’s making them look “hotter” (more mature)
2. Mirai doesn’t really find them attractive, but as a supernatural with a poor understanding of the living, got being “hot/mature” confused with “OLD”
3. Mirai genuinely thinks old people are hot (I do not want to believe this). This could also imply that she thinks kako is attractive, and is making the student body older to match.
Tumblr media
(Personally, and for my own sanity, I prefer the second)
With the additional context added by the newer chapters (though it could probably be assumed anyway). Mirai cannot read, that mixed with Akane describing her and stupid, it can then be inferred that she is mentally a child. With Tiara’s behavior as a comparison, Mirai probably also just has a vague and non specific understanding of relationships and attraction in general, ends with her associating “hot” with “mature” and since Kako is pretty damn mature (old) she could just being attempting to make the student body resemble him (for what reason idk)
This is probably a very big stretch, but I have never seen anyone talk about why she calls the old people hot so idk

After combing through the anime I have compiled undeniable evidence that tbhk season two will feature the clock keepers.
I’ll put a list that elaborates more under the cut for those who don’t get the video:
The opening features Teru with Akane in the backround which seems obvious to manga readers but for the anime it seems out of place. To me this suggests that they were planning to include the clock keeper arc but for some reason had to cut it out (probably because it would have taken too many episodes and they couldn’t fit it in.)
In a short clip between two scenes we see two girls spreading rumors about a haunted clock on campus, an obvious reference to the clock keepers. The fact that this was included is interesting because it is so random (in the video I only show the clip but it is between two scenes not related to rumors at all.)
At the end of the last episode we see Tsukasa drawing some weird shit on the wall which probably seems very familiar to manga readers. The most prominent drawing is of three cloaked figures that are most likely the clock keepers. We also see a tree house reminiscent of the tree house from the picture perfect arc, so that arc might also be in season two which makes sense because it is a very big arc for many of the main tbhk cast.
Basically, I’m confident that the second season of tbhk will include the clock keeper arc (and probably the picture perfect arc too.)
All we know now is that it’s in production but I’d guess it will release 2025 or if we’re unlucky 2026. After School Hanako-Kun is getting more episodes fall 2024 and the second season of the main anime will come some time after that, so we have those episodes to look forward to aswell.
