First Time Reuinion
Also on AO3 [600w] @corrieweek - day 3: "you shouldn't be here" @ailesswhumptober - day 10: "you don't have to earn this" @clonefandomevents - CG Bingo: batch mates, 212th Bingo: awful first meetings
“So, you’re CT-3937 now?”
The voice is perfectly neutral, but Clarry still has to supress a flinch as she nervously turns to face the vode in blue and gold armour.
“That would be me.”
She has never met the troopers before, but she knows exactly who they are. CT-3936 and CT-3939. Keys and Flick. CT-3937’s batchmates. This is just another one of countless awkward reunions as GAR troopers finally come to check on their Guard batchmates, only to find that the numbers they are looking for no longer belong to the person they left behind.
“How does this work? Do we call you Zip too, or…?”
“No! No.” She shudders. “We reuse the numbers, but the names remain unless absolutely required.”
“Ok. That… makes this easier.” She watches as some of the tension drains out of them, the vod with gold accents stepping forward from their place at their partner’s shoulder.
“In that case, what is your name? We’re Flick and Keys, both he/him, but I guess you already knew that?”
“I’m Clarry, she/they. Originally Claret, for the red,” she gestures at her armour, “but then there was an incident a couple of weeks after I arrived and everyone started calling me Clarion instead.”
“What sort of an incident? If you don’t mind saying.” She blushes.
“It’s kinda embarrassing, but, well. I was in the freshers after my shift, indulging in my water ration before catching the end of latemeal, and the pipe breaks. So I’m standing there in just my skin, being blasted by absolutely freezing water, and swearing up a storm, loud enough-”
“-to be heard in the messhall. I remember Zip telling us about that.”
“Oh! So you’re ‘colder than a Hutt’s hind on Hoth’. The story went around just before the 501st had a pass through Mygeeto, and the phrasing caught on.”
“Really? I can’t believe… Anyway, just as I was winding up, Commander Thorn stuck his head in, complimented me on my diction and use of acoustics, and offered me a place on one of his riot squads. I couldn’t decide whether to be more flattered or mortified! The jokes lasted for weeks, but I decided to keep the nickname even if I mostly end up shortening it.”
Laughter rolls through the little group, and Clarry feels some of her own tension leaving. It is nice to know that she is not entirely new to them, that even gone, Zip is helping to smooth their first meeting.
She watches as the other two look at each other, a twinge of jealousy striking as an entire conversation is held in aborted gestures and flickers of expression. After a brief back and forth, the vod in blue, Keys, turns back to face her.
“Look. …oh Force this is awkward. But here goes. We knowyou’re not Zip, and you won’t ever be Zip – no-one can truly replace him. But according to all the records you are CT-3937. So that means that technically we’re batchmates. If… if you want to be?”
Clarry thinks about her own batchmates, lost even before CT-9845 ‘died’. She thinks about her inherited comm, with its group chat that she never quite had the heart to block; the way that watching Flick and Keys banter was a balm after a long shift, the way they still addressed the occasional comment to Zip even as she refused to message them in his stead. She thinks about how this is supposed to be a time of new beginnings and celebrating their survival.
“I’d like to try.”

Corrie Guard Appreciation Week 2024 - Masterpost
For the inaugural @corrieweek, I ended up focusing less on the prompts and more using it as an excuse to drop all my outstanding Fox/CG WIPs (including all the ones for the concurrent Whumptober).
This resulted in 17 fills over four days, with 4,685 words plus one comic and one craft.
I made it a goal to focus more on non-Fox characters, with Thorn, Thire and Stone featuring alongside him in at least one fic each. I also completed my first Fox/Bail fic (sort of, only pre-relationship so far) and finally debuted my CG OC, Clarry!
All in all, I had a lot of fun, and hope it runs again next year ❤️

10.10 day: huggable Commander Fox plushie - see full photo album
Fills
Day 1: Eldritch
Hermit-crab Shells (AO3) | drabble | Coruscant Guard Coruscant might not be the front line, but Guards still die, still leave their brothers with just memories and empty armour. Except… it’s not so empty; Something moves in. The Guard do what they can to support their newest recruits.
Day 3: "You shouldn't be here"
First-time Reunion (AO3) | ficlet: 600w | CG OC & 212th/501st OCs Clarry - once CT-9845 now CT-3937 - has never met these troopers before, but she knows exactly who they are. CT-3936 and CT-3939. Keys and Flick. CT-3937’s batchmates. This is just another one of countless awkward reunions, as GAR troopers finally come to check on their Guard batchmates only to find that the numbers they are looking for no longer belong to the person they left behind.
Loyalty (AO3) | ficlet: 400w | Fox & Thorn & Palpatine Palpatine is a practical man; given the choice between a mindless tool and a semi-willing accomplice, he'll choose the one he can properly motivate. Thorn doesn't quite understand what is going on, but he knows that it is hurting Fox, and he will do anything to protect his brother. Oh, and the Republic, of course.
Proof of ID (AO3) | ficlet: 710w | Fox & Thire & Thorn He knows they all technically have the same face, but why don't Fox's Commanders recognise his? They are all too tired for this.
Rearguard (AO3) | ficlet: 180w | Thire & Stone & Fox Sometimes, Thire hates the other Commanders for the way that they look at him as the youngest – treating him as a khi’vod to be protected when he is only their junior by a month and a delayed promotion. Sometimes, he loves them for it. The Guard prepare to abandon Coruascant.
Day 5: Fix-it
A New General (AO3) | ficlet: 215w | Fox & others It was inevitable that Fox would be elected as the clone's representative in the Senate. His new collegues - no longer his superiors - very quickly get very nervous.
Lightning on Coruscant (AO3) | double drabble & comic | Fox & Cody Fox tells the truth, Cody is an overachiever, and Palpatine pays the price.
The Two Corries (AO3) | filk/poem | CG OCs (ft. Hound) Chancellor Palpatine is dead. The Coruscant Guard are well used to disposing of bodies. Nobody else has a clue.
Day 6: Force-sensitive clones
Hypothermia of the Soul (AO3) | ficlet: 210w | Fox It takes a few weeks for Fox to truly notice, but Coruscant is cold. It shouldn’t be, yet a chill has crept its way in to settle against his bones, refusing to be banished.
Day 6 (NSFW): Testing New Equipment
Naming Conventions (AO3) | drabble | Palpatine & Fox Diversity win! The person mind controlling you uses your chosen name!
Day 7: Fox Day
Chain of Command (AO3) | drabble | Fox & Palpatine Fox is the Guards' Commander. When one of his subordinates makes a mistake, he takes responsibility, he takes the punishment.
Close (AO3) | drabble | Fox & Wolffe & Cody It’s rare that Fox is able to take missions off-planet, let alone for a joint a campaign with multiple of his batchmates. It is a bittersweet opportunity.
Fox's List (AO3) | drabble | Fox Fox has a List. His list is a ledger, his list is a countdown.
(Not) Standard Issue (AO3) | drabble | Fox Fox’s office isn’t much to look at. Standard issue desk, standard issue chair, standard issue datapads, standard issue Clone Commander… and a couch?
Reaching and Finding (AO3) | ficlet: 260w | Fox & unidentified CG Eventually, the war ends; not with an Order, but with a tentative truce and heavily-negotiated treaty. It takes a year and a half for the news to reach the planet where Fox was stranded. It takes longer for any of the newly freed clones to follow, but when that moment comes Fox recognises them.
Soundscape (AO3) | fanfic: 1130w | Fox & Bail (pre-Fox/Bail/Breha) Fox can't sleep. Bail helps find a solution. And a small piece of Alderaan is brought to life in the middle of Coruscant.

212th Bingo - Masterpost
Bingo card started: June 2023 Fills posted: 21 (3,450 words) Bingos completed: 3 lines
Events cross-posted: Jedi June, 212th appreciation week 2023, Codywan week, 2023 & 2024, Haunted clones week 2023, Whumptober2023, AI-less whumptober 2024, Coday 2.2.24 Bingos cross-posted: 501st bingo, Coruscant Guard bingo
Over the course of the various events, I’ve managed to fill out most of this bingo sheet. Mostly drabbles, with a couple of more interesting formats (poem, comic, image edit, craft) mixed in. I’m amused to realise that the 212th and Codywan get given most of my lighter shenanigans-based plot bunnies. And most of the Codywan fills can be interpreted as either romantic or platonic.

Fills
I’ve continued my new method of ordering the below fills according to angst level; sorted into humour, hurt/comfort, and hurt no comfort.
Coday 2.2.24 bonus
Anniversaries | Cody plushie | craft
Fluff and shenanigans
Magical mishaps | Distraction (affectionate) (AO3) | drabble | Cody/Obi-wan Cody tries to reason with his General, who is distracted by other priorities.
Snuggling | Tea Party (AO3) | script and comic | Obi-wan & 212th Obi-wan likes taking his tea in the communal rec room, likes when his troopers come past to say hello. But this might be taking it a bit too far…
Force sensitivity | Training Exercise (AO3) | double drabble | 212th There are multiple methods of practicing a new skill. Some are more fun than others.
[free] | Saint Cody of Wi-fi | image edit | Cody With all his antennas, Commander Cody is a veritable wi-fi hot spot. And his battalion reveres him as such.
Mistaken identity | Reputation(AO3) | drabble | 212th & 501st The 501st has a reputation that makes the 212th look positively reasonable by comparison. And the 212th exploit it.
Trading weapons | Bringing a Lightsaber to a Duel(AO3) | drabble | Cody & Dooku It’s unintentional, but Commander Cody collects lightsabres. Jedi, Sith - somehow, they all end up on his belt. So he learns how to use them.
Hurt/comfort
Accidentally hurt by a friend | Sueing for Emotional Damages (AO3) | drabble | Cody & Obi-wan, Palpatine Cody might have his General back, but he’s still upset that he was tricked into thinking he’d been killed in the first place. And he knows just who to blame.
Recovery| In our hearts a hopeful song (AO3) | ficlet: 250w | Obi-wan & 212th There are many things that Obi-wan was not expecting when he was given a battalion of clone troopers to lead, but by far the most interesting is the singing.
Awful first meetings | First Time Reunion (AO3) | ficlet: 590w | 501st OC & 212th OC & CG OC Clarry - once CT-9845 now CT-3937 - has never met these troopers before, but she knows exactly who they are. CT-3936 and CT-3939. Keys and Flick. CT-3937’s batchmates. This is just another one of countless awkward reunions, as GAR troopers finally come to check on their Guard batchmates only to find that the numbers they are looking for no longer belong to the person they left behind.
Small displays of affection | Memento (AO3) | drabble | Waxer & Boil It's hard saying goodbye to new friends, but easier when you can carry a reminder with you.
Hurt/comfort | Taboo (AO3) | poem: 230w | Cody/Obi-wan A clone trooper’s helmet is as much their face as the one they were created with; something deeply personal to those who have so little. But when Obi-wan tentatively asks to try on Cody’s, he doesn’t refuse him. His own feelings are no less taboo.
Misunderstandings | Wave, I can see you (AO3) | fanfic: 540w | 212th OCs 501st brothers line the ridge, ready to spring their trap. Figures in 212th gold creep through the trees, Flick’s familiar paint bright in the gloom. Keys can’t believe that the Umbarans stole his batchmate's armour, it feels wrong on so many levels.
Comfort from a nightmare | There Were Two in the Bed, and the Little One Said... (AO3) | drabble | Obi-wan/Cody Nightmares are never fun, but company makes the aftermath easier.
Rescue missions | Taking the Bait (AO3) | ficlet: 410w | Darth Sidious & Obi-wan Kenobi & Cody & Boil Darth Sidious kidnaps Commander Cody to lure out Kenobi. He takes the bait.
Hurt no comfort
Angst | Sunrise or Sunset (AO3) | drabble | Cody When Cody looks at the sunrise newly painted on his armour, he can't help the creeping feeling that perhaps it is a sunset instead.
Outsider POV | Degrees of Trust (AO3) | drabble | Cody & Obi-wan Cody doesn't understand why his General's ‘I trust you’ suddenly stopped being a promise and instead became a pain-filled thing of guilt and grief.
Dreams | The Nightmare (AO3) | drabble | Cody The Nightmare is unsettling in a visceral way, but after years of the nightly visions they are used to the feeling. And they always wake up. He just needs to wait until he wakes up...

501st Bingo – Masterpost - Bingo
Bingo card started: February 2023 Fills posted: 13 Bingos completed: 1 line
Events cross-posted: Codywan week 2023, 212th appreciation week 2023, Haunted clones week 2023, Whumptober 2023, Twins week 2024, AI-less whumptober 2024 Bingos cross-posted: 212th bingo, Coruscant Guard bingo Only an extra three works added this year, but I’m pleased that it includes a much-anticipated addition to my Catching AU. As someone who doesn’t often write the 501st, I’m glad I managed to complete as many as I did, including a full bingo line.
Fills
I’ve continued my new method of ordering the below fills according to angst level; sorted into humour, hurt/comfort (happy v. sad ending), and hurt no comfort.
Humour
Amnesia | See No Evil (AO3) | drabble | Codywan & 212th & 501st Cody and Obi-wan stare into each other’s eyes. All in the name of plausible deniability.
Misunderstandings | Reputation (AO3) | drabble | 212th & 501st The 501st has a reputation which makes the 212th look positively reasonable by comparison. And the 212th exploit it.
Confessions | On Duty (for shenanigans) (AO3) | drabble | Kix & Jesse Kix is a medic, the mum-friend. This doesn’t actually stop him from being an enabler too.
Hurt Comfort – with a happy ending
Free space | First Time Reunion (AO3) | ficlet: 590w | 501st OC & 212th OC & CG OC Clarry - once CT-9845 now CT-3937 - has never met these troopers before, but she knows exactly who they are. CT-3936 and CT-3939. Keys and Flick. CT-3937’s batchmates. This is just another one of countless awkward reunions, as GAR troopers finally come to check on their Guard batchmates only to find that the numbers they are looking for no longer belong to the person they left behind.
Time loop | Breaking Habits (AO3) | drabble | Rex They say that it takes as little as 21 rotations to build a habit. It takes at least as long to break it again.
Character in peril | Wave, I can see you (AO3) | ficlet: 540w | 501st OC & 212th OC 501st brothers line the ridge, ready to spring their trap. Figures in 212th gold creep through the trees, Flick’s familiar paint bright in the gloom. Keys can’t believe that the Umbarans stole his batchmate's armour, it feels wrong on so many levels.
Chips Activate AU | Terminal Velocity (AO3) | fanfic: 800w | Anakin & 501st After three years of war, almost every Jedi has Fallen - and had to be Caught - a least once. Anakin himself has Fallen often enough that the process of his troopers drawing him back to the light is now familiar routine. Familiar enough that he notices when they don't. Familiar enough that he recognises the necessity of saving himself to save them.
Hurt/Comfort – with a sad ending
Hurt/comfort | Just an Echo (AO3) | ficlet: 245w | Echo & Fives Echo is hurt in a cave-in, but at least Fives is there with him. ...isn't he?
Flashbacks | Safety Briefing (A03) | drabble | Fox & Rex Rex is transferred to the Coruscant Guard. The more things change the more they stay the same; it is not a welcome familiarity.
Hurt no Comfort
Angst | Memories Caught in Amber (AO3) | drabble | Rex When Rex looks at their smiles together in the holo, it is hard to believe it was taken only two years ago. He feels the weight of every day since.
Sacrifice | Forever Unanswered (A03) | poem: 120w | Fives & Fox There is the sound of a blastershot, and between one breath and the next, everything stops. Fives doesn't blame Fox, not really. He just wants to know why.
Facing fears | Missing You at My Side (A03) | drabble | Fives & Echo When clones die, they haunt those they were closest to. So where is Echo? Why is Fives alone?
Time travel | Out of Time (AO3) | drabble | Kix Kix is used to working to deadlines: completing training sims, saving his brothers' lives... unravelling the mystery of the chips. He is used to failing too. But this time he missed not just the deadline, but also the aftermath, the rebuilding. How is he supposed to cope when he has missed his most important deadline by 50 years?
