*Veritas walks around in front of Aventurine's room for a while. He was away only for a day and he was already missing the blonde, but he was nervous too. Only after a while, he decides to enter the room. He doesn't have any excuse to explain his visit this time.*
"Kakavasha..?"
@veritas-ratio-rp
[Aventurine was lying on the couch, a thin shirt and shorts on, seemingly asleep.]

Stop referring to 50/50 odds as 'a coin flip'!
Tumblr media
Coins have a tendency to land on the same side they started, confirming the predictions from the Diaconis, Holmes, and Montgomery (D-H-M) model of coin flipping.
Though if I'm reading it right, this tendency does depend on the tosser.

I flipped 1000 coins on google yesterday.
Two of my friends and I started playing Stardew Valley together, and they both wanted to marry the same NPC. So, in order to figure out who gets to have her, they decided on a coin flip and asked me to do the honour.
I flipped the coin and the losing party naturally called it rigged (as a joke), however, I heard somewhere before that it was, in fact, rigged. The source I heard it from wasn't reliable, of course and it's also been a while. Still, I chimed in and said that I actually heard somewhere that it is in fact rigged.
I did that for two reasons. Number one being to contribute to the conversation, but the main cause was to reference a meme that is rather prominent in this friend group.
Now, the winning friend required proof of that and tasked me to flip the coin 1000 times. So... I did. I will post the whole thing under the cut, but the end result was that Heads appeared 455 times and Tails appeared 545 times.
What I find funny is that the losing friend immediately settled on it being obviously rigged when he chose tails. I don't think he did that intentionally, I think he just forgot what he picked. I decided not to say anything because I was actually curious to see this being played out.
The winning friend, however, was not yet satisfied. He told me that doing this one time wasn't a proper result, and to actually test this theory, we'd need to repeat it 10 times. So, I was tasked to do this 9 more times. Which I will do. I started already, actually.
Now, why am I doing this?
Well, there's three reasons. For one, I'm interested in the reactions of my losing friend and if his memory of what he originally picked actually changes again depending on the outcome of the coinflips.
Then, the question on whether or not this thing is rigged actually started interesting me as well now.
But mainly because it's a repetitive task that doesn't take me too long (the 1000 flips took me about 1.5 hours), and I can carry it out while doing something else like listening to music, watching YouTube/Netflix/etc. Or be on a Discord Call with those friends.
But anyways, here's the result of 1000 Google coin flips (might reblog with the others as well once I'm done)

Flipped coin. I think I heard that one before... "King Jaehaerys once told me that madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Targaryen is born, he said, the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land." Yes, GoT vibes.

Also, ever played lute or other instrument at camp with Scratch? He's the vocalist, best boi!
!I won't be adding more Astarion.! His "fanbase" is made of way too many toxic girls who bring up DnD lore if you disagree with them but ignore the lore when it suits their scenario. Not to mention they're ready to scratch your eyes out for it. Plus I'm tired of people insulting of sending me death threats.
