San Isabel National Forest, Colorado.
Highline Trail? I'll take a bit of that. I decided on a loop that had a bit of challenge right at the start. Still was a grand loop, including the challenging section.

HIKERS DREAM. Episode 4. Tony “Slapshot” Lombardi
Tony "It was either sit in a chair and vegetate or get out and do something, so I chose the latter.  Since retiring more than seven years ago (1/30/2015), I’ve sailed small boats three times to the Virgin Islands and Antigua (once through a hurricane), charted a sailboat with family and friends in the Virgin Islands, visited Italy for a total of five weeks and Paris for a week, hiked 1,946 miles of the Appalachian Trail, through hiked the 485 mile Colorado Trail and the 800 mile Arizona Trail and went on numerous other small adventures.  It’s been fun so far, and I’m looking forward to more hiking, sailing and traveling".

Day 3 is on the blog now! Another hard day, more altitude sickness, more sleep deprivation, but also more incredible views. High highs and low lows. But all worth it.

San Isabel National Forest, Colorado.
I headed up to the top of Galena Mountain, then examined the ridge to see if I could continue. I could and I did for nearly 3 more miles around the edge before dropping to Deckers Lake and the CDT/CT for an on trail return.
