This is all experimental at this stage for Temporary.
Submerging my plastic sheets in water leaving behind the droplets to stay on the plastic and some dripped down along back to the water.

Experimenting with plastic fabric and using some of my Mayfly wing images where I spent some time in photoshop placing them in circle's. I printed some and used them in my sketchbook to work with plastic material from a timber net bag and cardboard.

Life cycles through circles as the Moon
AS part of my Temporary project I'm figuring out how to incorporate the circular /cyclical nature of LIFECYCLES through Circular representation.
In these cropped images I have turned some of mayfly wing photographs into circles to represent the lunar moon cycles in our daily lives.

workshops week 9 | cyanotype
This Monday I attended Cyanotype printing with Tutor Gemma Dardis. We were shown the process of working with chemicals and how they react to sunlight/uv exposure to get a print on paper which we converted into an acetate exposure.
Despite the use of two chemicals I thought this process was somewhat more organic in nature which I would prefer in my own practice. I'm interested in using this method as a way of documenting items.

The first image I laid out items on top of clear acetate, I then made this into a print using the UV light exposure box in studio 8 to get the resulting blue cyanotype print. The second image is of it drying on the windowsill.

Artist Research
This artist has discovered a new method of using paint. He refers to his method as 'paint drop' sculptures.
I find this quite an inventive way to work with paint in a controlled manner to achieve a result that you may at first think was created digitally or with other materials bur certainly not paint.
I 'm interested in the sense of space it creates using almost an optical illusion. It allows for different perspective of the piece to be viewed from every angle possible.

A life cycle of anything is never going to be a perfect circle of experience, when life breaks down, situations occur that interrupt the events of the day. Within the Mayflys 24 hour cycle of existence many occurrences may inevitably happen to him despite his instinctual drive that compels him to procreate as soon as he is born.
The same is true for us as we are driven in our existence to go about the activities that spur us into action wherein we discover many unexpected , unplanned event can arise which causes our path /cycle to be not so linear or straightforward in itself.
Hence I see this reflected in my images of these broken ceramic pieces. I aim to bring these pieces back together again to reflect that cycles will imperfect even break but in nature they strive ultimately to continue on and will find a way to maintain a cycle of continuation amongst degradation and brokenness and imperfection.

WEEK 7 | Monday Workshop
Risograph Printing with Fiona Woods This workshop was very interesting to learn about the background of how Riso Digital printing came about from a Japanese inventor whom was concerned about sustainability and the proper care of the environment though the production of art.
I didn't achieve the result I desired so I consider this a fail but I have new ideas how I would go about my process a second time understanding the principle of layering better now through the medium of print.
The first image is of my Highlights layer which we used tracing paper to add these. The second image is my finished result

ARTIST RESEARCH | Sherrill Kahn
Sometimes I like to do things old school. I love a good book. In the library in TUS I discovered this book by an American artist whom created her own set of opaque chalk colours. This find is part of my research around colour.

She uses a number of mediums and techniques including technology to create her finished pieces. Fiber art and Design using interesting ifs not ancient representations of mark making beautify her works.

As her online images are copyrighted I put images of her books and a link to her curated works to view.
