hi, i love your work! may i ask what materials you use in your illustrations?

For my colour penciled work, I use derwent coloursoft pencils and faber castel polychromos pencils, on catridge or fabriano paper. For my crayon and oil pastel pieces, I use caran d'ache crayons and sennelier oil pastels as they have a very nice saturated colour, although I tend to buy them individually from my local art shop as they are so expensive lol.

Hey king, you got any colored pencil recommendations? I picked up a set of Prismacolors a little while back and I've been enjoying them but honestly one of the best ways to get a recommendation is from someone who's got Opinions:tm: about the tactile feel and I am always game for getting someone to go the fuck off about a thing

Stopppp what have I told you guys about asking me about colored pencils, you have to be more specific! Bc I can recommend different brands for different uses! If you're on a budget but still want quality I recommend arteza expert or brutfuner if you can find them. Hell I'd even still recommend Crayola too. If you like the waxy feel of pencils I recommend Derwent coloursoft. If you want color that pops right off the page I recommend posca but they're a little harder to get here bc they're a Japanese brand. If you like the oily feel of pencils I recommend Faber castell or Lyra Rembrandt. Dewernt lightfast is a perfect combination of waxy and oily. If you just want the best pencils in the world then that's caran d'ache luminance. I have 20+ packs of pencils so I have recs for any occasion but I tried to keep my reply simple lol

(I really wish I'd timed drawing this, it's definitely my most involved colour pencil piece to date)

It might seem counterintuitive but some coloured pencils (those very pigmented and opaque wax based pencils) work best on toned or black paper.

Coloured pencils on white paper are... actually pretty dull. Unremarkable. I don't like working on white paper for that reason - the drawing doesn't have that wow effect. But most of my pencil sets aren't suited for black paper, they're too transparent.

Even Coloursofts have colours that aren't good on black paper. Yellows are notorious for not performing on black paper and not even Coloursofts can help. But The Softest Pencils In The World, Derwent Drawing set, absolutely can. The set though is all earth toned, so no bright yellows there.

What kind of pencils do you use for your sketches? :’D they are really good!!

Aww thank you!!! for anything with colored pencils I use a random mix of caran d'ache watercolor pencils, crayola (?), and derwent coloursofts which are way softer so I typically stick to the first two.

graphite pencil wise though I literally use any pencil in my general vicinity lol (usually a mechanical pencil bc I just like the way they feel) which right now is just one of those bic mechanical pencils that cost next to nothing. I do swap out the lead to B or 2B occasionally but 99% of the time it's just whatever came with the pencil cuz I'm lazy lmao

I finished the Demon Slayer volume 4 cover coloring this past weekend! Very happy with how it turned out, I think I'm getting the hang of it with the skin tones and getting close to matching them to colors in the official art book??

Colored with Primsacolor pencils, Sakura pigma black pen, Derwent Coloursoft pencils.

Next will be the volume 5 cover with Tomioka, then volume 6 with Shinobu, and then I will start other pages in the book! I want to finish the first book before I start on the second one!
