It's the first Sunday of December - and time for a #VinylAndBeerSunday. I recently returned from Pennsylvania after visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday. I received a gift of EL CAMINO from THE BLACK KEYS from @mikecrawfone . He said that it was a belated Father's Day gift. While I have heard of them, I have not previously listened to their music. So, I am following the instructions from the hype sticker to PLAY LOUD. And I can say that I am digging it. One online reviewer wrote that the album is "classic rock sonic tchotchkes: handclaps, talk-box guitar breaks, rainbow keyboards. The overall effect is something akin to ZZ Top with glitter in their beards." I would say that's pretty close. I have accompanied these rocking tunes with a new beer (to me) from the good folks at ROGUE BREWING. Their COMBAT WOMBAT is a sour/IPA combination with lots of forward fruit flavor and hoppy goodness in the background. I am not a fan of the sour brews, but I love this one. Simply excellent. It's awful, pretty sure I could've done a better job with a webcam and windows movie maker and I wouldn't have needed a Vancouver Film school diploma.
