SELLING THINGS, NEED CAR INSURANCE

I really need to get my car insurance reinstated. I can't finish moving without it. I don't drive without insurance.

Obviously, I'd love to pay $558 and not have to worry about it for six months, but that's not an option, I don't think.

We're currently crashing at a friend's house but that is over as of the 1st. We have to be fully moved out of the old place by then. The car also needs to be insured and running.

I need money.

I have things! I can ship to the US and Canada, possibly other places, but my God, would it be worth it for you? Maybe for books. I have a ton of those in a ton of subjects. I used to work at a college library and when they downsized the collection because they got a big digital collection, we got to take lots of it home - and I did. I have a non-cartridge printer I'm willing to sell - still has ink and works well. I'd drain it and ship the bottles with it. I'd sell it for $90 plus shipping.

I have one of those manual standing desktops that you set on a desk and use a lever to maneuver. It's heavy so probably best for local pickup. $25 takes it.

I have several old phones and tablets I'm willing to sell for a few bucks here and there. They're all fairly old, 4G or wifi only, so like $5 apiece plus a dollar or two for shipping.

I have various shoes and clothing - most will be unisex or women's in EITHER large/size 10-12 pants/skirts, or 3x/size 20 pants/skirts. I have like no gaming stuff because most of my gaming stuff is digital these days (I DO have a PS5 but I'm not giving that up, it's the crappiest model so it's not worth a lot anyway). I have a pistol, an IWI Masada. I'd rather not sell it, but needs must - if nothing else goes, it will. It comes with two 17+1 magazines, wrist braces, a bunch of 9mm ammo, and a cheap padded waterproof case with a handle. You can put a padlock on the case. It was $500 new, and it's in great shape, so I'd want $300. You'd have to pay for transfer and background shit.

NOW ON TO SERVICES!

I can do a lot of things, as you may well know. I pride myself on being a jack of all trades, master of like two. Here are some services I can perform, as a small independent contractor (all jobs will involve a small one-page boilerplate contract outlining the job, with a few exceptions).

In-person, locally, if you're in Carson City, Reno, or surrounding Nevada/California areas:

Cleaning. Think maid service. I will provide my own materials if you want but it costs more that way. I can deep-clean or unfuck, too, but that's more expensive. Rate is Nevada minimum wage: $12 an hour. Deep-cleaning and unfucking is more specialized and harder on my body, so that's $18 an hour.

Organizing/filing paperwork and mail. Got a bunch of shit you don't even know if you need to keep? This bitch knows. I'm great at filing and organizing by any organizational system you'd like. Hourly rate is Nevada minimum wage: $12/hr.

Personal assistant/driver. I'm a pretty good driver, with 24 years of fairly clean driving. I don't drink or smoke weed. I am great at shopping, running errands, taking directions, taking notes, etc. I also have some minor medical training, experience writing copy and press releases, and experience doing minor graphic design and photo editing. Need a personal assistant for a few days? Hit me up. Prices start at $15 an hour, but you have to provide the vehicle (or pay my insurance up-front as part of the wages).

Simple taxes. I am not a CPA! I am, however, better and more honest than H&R Block and places like that. I will not DO the taxes. I will GUIDE YOU ON HOW TO DO THEM, so that you never have to have someone else do it for you ever again. I can do this online too, but I'm not thrilled with the idea. Nevada doesn't have state taxes so it's easier. Price depends on complexity of taxes and how much your refund winds up being.

Personal shopping/delivery pickup. Once again, you'd have to provide the car, or pay my insurance as part of the fee. Price depends on where and what.

Very minor car repair. I can't do anything major but brake pads, tune-ups, oil changes, starters and alternators, batteries, etc. You pay for parts. Price depends on complexity of job, starting at NV Minimum wage.

Minor clothing repair or alterations. I can do bigger stuff too, but I don't really want any big sewing commissions right now. But if you need pants or a skirt taken in, or hemmed up, or patched/repaired, or some patches sewn onto a battle vest, or anything like that? I have a sewing machine and knowledge.

Minor handyman-type work. $12 an hour. This is like. Putting flat-packed furniture together, fixing minor plumbing issues, patching wall holes, building a table or bench from old pallets, etc. I can physically fix a lot of electronics as well, although I avoid working on phones and tablets like the plague. But I won't work on electricity. Exceptions are installing a new plug or light switch - shit is easy enough.

Scrapping things. Got a bunch of shit you want scrapped down to components. Hit me up!

Things I can do in-person OR online:

Ghostwriting papers. Doesn't matter how esoteric the subject, I'm great at writing papers. Price depends on complexity of topic and research needed, as well as length and how much I need to adapt my writing style, but it starts at $25 for a basic 5-page term paper, excluding cover, index, and citations. If you want nice formatting (a cover, index, and complex citations section) that's an additional $10. Price goes up from there. So...average is roughly $5 to $10 per page.

Ghostwriting articles. I won't write on certain topics but I can write on almost anything. Cost varies based on what is needed.

Resume and cover letter writing. I usually only charge $20 for this.

Resume and cover letter editing. Again, usually $20. I'm not out to gouge people looking for a job.

Proofreading and line-editing, with a heavy emphasis on proofreading erotica. I have done this professionally several times. The price for this depends on the task and the length of whatever I'm reading. I'm willing to work within a budget, within reason. I read very fast - I can proofread and line-edit 50k in a few hours.

Sensitivity reading on the following topics: gender nonconformity, SA victim, invisible disability, autism, ADHD, perceived privilege, bi/pansexual, aromantic, polyamorous, chronic pain, drug use, dyscalculia, dysphoria, dysmorphia, blindness with correction, nonconformity to beauty standards, visible queer-ness, WLW, t4t. Price for this is much like the proofreading and line-editing thing: I prefer to work with you directly.

Page layout and design. I won't print the stuff for you, but I'll design it so you can print it out. I do everything from calendars to coloring books (you provide the art, I just do page layout and formatting and conversion) to ebooks to journals to planners.

I really need to buy a new computer. Like, super bad. My currently one is an all-in-one (don't at me, I know that's a bad choice) and is 9 years old. So...I really need something better. XD

But yeah, basically it's a small AU, originally it was kind of a "sequel"/continuation to my modern J&H-story; but then it became its own thing.

Basically yes, J&H story happens and all that, and Jekyll/Hyde then dies. But instead of like the actual "proper" afterlife: his soul is somehow by some mysterious occurrence transferred inside an old 90's/early 2000's CRT computer-monitor, and he can thus control whatever computer or computer accessories are attached to that monitor.

That monitor is his new "body" basically, yet he can't move or touch anything. He does have senses, but only when correct accessories are attached to the computer and thus he can access those accessories. And with accessories, I mean stuff like a microphone, speakers/headphones, webcam etc. Microphone being his ears (hearing), speakers/headphones allowing the user hear what he has to say (speech), and webcam being his eyes (sight), and so on. If there's no microphone or speakers/headphones attached however, he then loses both the ability to hear or speak audibly... but he can still communicate by basically generating his messages on the monitor's screen and the user gets to reply to those with text. He loves floppy disks and CD's etc, those are like little snacks to him (and yes, he can access the files on them, though he can't delete or edit them). Degaussing the CRT monitor also feels like tickling to him and he enjoys it. PS/2 or USB devices can be attached to him and depending on whatever the device is, he can control them.

His speaking voice is basically his regular old voice with an accent and all, but more mechanical as you can probably imagine. Kind of either like those old text-to-speech things from the 80's/90's, or kinda robotic.

However, if you think that he's all fully 100% kind and nice, then lmao, you'd be wrong. He's actually very cranky and most of the time just being annoying, or complaining a bunch. Or judging whatever the user's doing on the computer. He's sarcastic, snarky, smug and arrogant. Though if he really takes a liking to the user or befriends them, that's when he gets kinda softer and can actually be a kind helpful guy. Still able to use his knowledge and all, since his memories are still intact and I mean, he's a doctor despite being stuck inside a computer, lmao. The only thing he can't remember well however, is his own old "human" appearance. He's slowly forgetting his own face and it devastates him quite a lot </3 Anyways, if you're wondering: yes, he can also access the internet however he likes. You can just imagine all the pranks he could pull on the user, if he really dislikes them or just feels like being a jerk, lmao. Even if the computer is left on a sleep mode or in the login screen, he can still use the computer however he likes and then browse the internet even while the user is away. Don't worry though, if he really likes the user, he won't hack their stuff or such. He just minds his own business most of the time anyways. And he doesn't bother the user all of the time too, he does need his naps /j

And Hyde? Well, he's around too, though he appears rather randomly and rarely. Usually whenever Jekyll is feeling really stressed or enraged by anything. And Hyde then is a really nasty terrifying self-destructive glitch/malware/virus, that tends to cause havoc, scream in a distorted glitchy mechanical LOUD voice, and try to break Jekyll/itself. Basically he tries to corrupt nearly everything, because he himself is a corruption. He usually does disappear after some time and Jekyll then has to try fix the possible software-related (= corruptions/glitches in apps, programs etc.) damages etc, usually succeeding in it. Though if there's any hardware-failures, like fried or broken components in the computer; the user must fix those.

Jekyll is kind of "immortal" however, as if the computer is turned off or suffers a sudden power outage; it doesn't affect Jekyll really, since his soul is permanently stuck inside the CRT monitor itself, and not the computer exactly even if he can control it. If the power's off the computer, he's still there but just can't do much, y'know. If one were to destroy the monitor itself however..... well. That's a different story, lol, Jekyll would then have a very bad time.

Step3. Sample and feedback

After confirming the PI, the supplier will usually provide pre-production samples for your approval. At the same time, the supplier will also confirm with you the logistics plan of the bulk goods. Make sure they understand your shipping requirements, including details on packaging, customs clearance, taxes, etc.

I taught myself how to build my PC and it was confusing at times, but it takes a little patience and you gotta want it bad enough because they’ll just say shit like it makes sense and not explain what it does or means when I need to know what the thing does in layman’s terms. I’m not an expert and I won’t claim to 100% know what I’m talking about but this is my personal understanding of these terms:

The CPU is the brain, the better the cpu the better it will be at running programs and multitasking.

RAM is the active memory that runs alongside the CPU for the same purpose, number go up, the better it should be at these same functions.

Your GPU (graphics card) is pretty much only used for video processing and higher intensity things like renderings, editing, and video games. It’s the eyes of your PC. For the graphics card, number goes up for each generation we’ve been though. Higher number = newer card. I personally skimped on a CPU and got myself a very good GPU because gaming was my main priority.

For storage it’s a lot less to worry about. You either have (for simplicity) two options, Solid State also known as “SSD” which has no moving parts inside, or a hard disk drive also known as “HDD”, which has a spinning disk inside whenever it’s being accessed. SSDs are a lot smaller than HDDs, and they are said to be more stable and tend to sit directly on the motherboard without the use of cables.

Your motherboard is the spine that all of these parts inhabit and it sends the signals where they need to go. Like the nervous system. It directs you to your Operating System “OS.” I know a lot less about the motherboard, but what I do know is that it is important for identifying the hardware you’re using (including speakers, mouse and keyboard, and other accessories) and making sure it can actually use it. If it can’t, it simply will not boot your computer. Depending on what generation it is, it can have compatibility issues with newer generations of CPUs and GPUs out of the box, but still mostly be able to function with troubleshooting and updating its Bios which stands for Basic Input Output System. I personally messed up the boot order when I built my PC and now I have to access the BIOS every time I turn my computer on to boot from there. I’ve built other PCs for people and learned from my mistakes lol.

They all function together to make your PC run smoothly and the only real worry when building is compatibility. I went through tons of videos and threads on reddit and they can be very helpful, but I’m a visual learner mostly, and swear by PC Building Simulator (a video game) as a way to visualize and actualize my build without putting money in first. I also swear by PC Part Picker because you can place the components you want for your build and it will immediately tell you if there is a potential compatibility or efficiency issue.

That’s my two cents and like I said I’m speaking from my personal understanding and I’m not a professional at all. I just had a lot of fun building my PC and I do encourage other people to do it for themselves because it becomes less daunting with this basic knowledge of the general functions. It puts the power literally into your own hands and the sense of accomplishment was unparalleled the first (second) time I turned my PC on and it worked.

The best part about all of this is that they are entirely swappable and upgradable parts. If I wanted to I could go out tomorrow and get a new CPU, swap it out, and be chillin for another decade. I built my PC about 5 years ago and I shouldn’t expect problems (minor or major) for hopefully 5 more years.
