No let's talk cuz you did this to me last time if you're not going to take all my flashcard words you change out the flash card in the word okay
Yeah you can't cover up for Dallas all their black skin people with with my information my personal information saying it worked to use Colorado and everyone who visits it who visits Dallas me myself I said since you're talking to me about something that has nothing to do with me that that means you're playing games and you yourself know it doesn't work... Right if you could say anything and you're talking to me about something has nothing to do with me then then the options are endless oh
#Report no they're using that little white hair girl I said you know Pensacola you can't rule the country with with houses okay yeah you need some firepower by the way you guys have the best computer you and baton rouge and I think Houston you guys have been voted number one computer in the world.. so what they're using on me is you know I said this is what we have in common okay #report #911 this is important listen up
Yeah you're holding me to the map where everyone has to fear New Mexico okay all the black spear Mexico and talk s*** about China 24/7 okay of of the same map that I grew up in school with the 52 state map other than the American map and and you you have to have conversations with people here that only visited neighboring cities a few of these cities a few of these states and you continue to to tell them about another city I've been in and mentioned another name which I know that they wouldn't have known because it you know if they're in my program they wouldn't have been to those places yet you know they're too young or maybe they're on their way to see those places... Yeah but you have a conversation and every minute ends on on a dead end of talking about some place and then oh no we we gave her your flash card so she didn't recognize the place or we gave him your flash card and and you didn't recognize the place you know...
We called in a text and you guys are covering up for for the blackskins in the car ignore my 911 call of having me here babysitting a black hair white can go in a car although although you know your car your girls are a little bit younger most of all you know with with these Russian appointments okay oh did I tell you what I found you're not going to believe what I found where I found it... They're using Church girls to lure grown men remember in Virginia we had that exercise where the the sick white skin girls with white hair okay they're outside in the selling integrate integrates them and and they're around 6 ft and 7 ft giant black skin men and hearing the most racist things... Know what I'm saying is it it just looks like the churches of Tulsa you know hiding the houses and hiding hiding everything but for you to involve the little church girls okay...
Trying to tempt me with gay white boys that are easy that have plumbing in the houses that have plumbing in their house just trying to tease me with those white skin boys in the neighborhood it's all a church fundraiser
You know the girls you guys can't be serious you know what one Las Vegas headquarters is the game room it's a little casino room or or storefront not the arcade yeah I'm sorry you guys lost a bet... Yeah you're bet that that the arcade was was a Las Vegas is in the cemetery...
Yes the golfing the putt putt golfing and that's that's a good example and and most importantly the malls with what seems to be you know it's it's the thing is this little white girl from church that the connection of her knowing a father knowing a real father figure I really really ruins everything you know where you see these girls not having a father you know maybe having a few girlfriends maybe calling one of them Mama but again for this girl to be connected to another man makes the telekinesis makes it makes the energy on the satellite a little offset than any other girl a little offset more than any normal girls... Right this is the one that's allowed to run the neighborhood allowed to go outside and her father will not tell her no because he's afraid she's going to find a black skin boyfriend and and she's going to come and confront the father about not letting her go outside and hang out with boys and a black man is going to kill him for the house...
So in these Russian appointments you know the delays they brought bring me back here so so it would be Pensacola with with only the delaying no no real speakers no real computers around the neighborhoods the only the only people that paranoid to say versus too soon and again we did call the articles all the cities agreed with me he can't tell that maker men aren't being blindsided on every corner in and in the hope you know I f***** the game up for that s*** or or I called him out the hope I'll behind these men being blindsided is is incredibly emotional and heartbreaking
Right trying to tempt me with easy gay white boys that have plumbing in their houses in their neighborhood... And then that blind little white hair girl #report you guys keep on talking to her about a different place you know and once in a while I'm talking about stereotyping a stigma and you know I'm looking at her and you guys pretend that she doesn't know yeah arguing every minute #arguing yeah you forced me to look up at her or him and I'll have us a lot to the boys you force me to look up at them and then you say oh they don't understand and and your salad is giving a commission communication to both of us...

Michael Vaughn Duck — known as M. Vaughn Duck or simply Vaughn Duck — is a former technology executive turned lyricist, poet, and escapist storyteller. With a career spanning decades in the tech world followed by a creative shift in 2010, Duck has woven a life of innovation and introspection. From pioneering computer systems in the American Midwest to crafting funky jazz lyrics on the French Riviera, his journey bridges hardwired logic with the rhythm of reflection.
A Tech Trailblazer’s Beginnings
Born on September 13, 1943, in Rockford, Illinois, Duck kicked off his career with a tech-savvy streak. From 1962 to 1963, in Chicago, IL, he studied at the Institute of Automation, earning an Associate’s Degree in Business, Software Design, and Programming while working part-time as a Unit Record Operator at Armour Meat Company. By 1964, in Rockford, IL, he landed at G.C. Electronics as Data Processing Manager (later MIS Director), overseeing the region’s first IBM System/360 computer installation — a milestone in the mid-60s tech scene. From 1968 to 1976, still in Rockford, IL, he ran the Computer Services Center as General Manager, serving the region with innovative computing solutions.
Duck’s entrepreneurial spirit flared in 1980 when he founded Integrated Micro Systems (IMS) in Rockford, IL, leading it as President until 1982 to build election ballot-counting hardware. He followed this with Governmental Data Systems (GDS) from 1983 to 1985, also in Rockford, IL, as President, focusing on election software for public-sector clients. In 1985, still in Rockford, IL, he launched Interactive Software Products, Inc. (ISP), owning 94% and steering it as President to develop Point of Sale systems for retail hard goods, developed on IBM PC-AT servers and PC-Jr terminals. In 1986, he sold GDS and IMS to Business Records Corporation (BRC) in Dallas, TX, where he served as Executive Vice President from 1986 to 1988, managing their election division for major projects like Cook County, Illinois, and Louisiana contracts. His IMS and GDS election systems from the early 1980s, notably for Cook County, laid the groundwork for real-time precinct election results, consolidated and displayed at a central election center.
His tech journey peaked internationally as Managing Director of Global 360’s European operations in Paris, FR, from 2002 to 2004, then as Vice President of their document management group in Cerritos, CA, from 2004 to 2006, optimizing business processes to drive growth. Duck capped his career as Vice President at Tyler Technologies in Dallas, TX, from 2007 to 2009, focusing on civil court software for the public sector. By 2009, after 45 years shaping tech from hardware to software, Duck stepped away from the corporate grind.
A Creative Shift in the South of France
After decades in tech, Duck sought creative freedom in 2010, drawn by a lifelong love of music and poetry, relocating to the South of France and trading circuit boards for creative chords. His most notable musical mark came through his collaboration with Sonny Axell on the 2016 album Kickback, a 9-track journey of funky contemporary jazz laced with R&B and soul. As lyricist and producer, Duck shaped the project from November 2015 in Antibes, FR, at Studio 26, crafting all original lyrics — from the high-energy groove of “Kickback” to the tender “Little Boy Dreams” and the self-affirming “It’s Who I Am.” His words dance over Axell’s Stevie Wonder-inspired melodies, backed by tight brass, punchy guitar riffs, and the pulse of Chicago drummer Darvonte T. Murray. Influences from soul giants like Prince, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Ray Charles shine through, earning praise from jazz fans for its soulful spirit and luxurious arrangements. After its April 2016 release, the album debuted live in Nice, FR, at Galerie Depardieu, cementing Duck’s legacy in jazz-soul circles. Kickback is available on platforms like Spotify.
Duck’s creative heart traces back to his high school days, when his poem “Christmas Eve” placed third in a school contest, a spark that later fueled his literary pursuits on platforms like WordPress and Medium. From 2014 to 2024, in the South of France, he’s published over 135 poems and lyrics on Medium, branding himself a “Lyricist, Poet, and Escapist” with a motto: “Life is a roller-coaster full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and when it stops, you’re somewhere between heaven and hell.” Standouts include “The Old Black Train,” featured in his article “Afterlife,” blending quantum science, cellular research, and spiritual musings into a poetic farewell, and “Don’t Let the Old Man In,” a reflective gem in his collection. Other poems — like “What Lies Beyond the Shadows” (2016), dedicated to friends Eurold and Vivian, or “Chasing the Elusive Dream” (2024), penned on a bus with the Alpine Hiking Club — reveal a soul attuned to love, loss, and life’s fleeting moments. “The Lion” (2017) roars with passion, while “When You’re Crazy in Your Head” (2015) dives into inner turmoil. Tied to specific dates and experiences, these works showcase his versatility, mixing real-life inspiration with imaginative escape.
Beyond poetry, Duck has penned over 40 articles on Medium from 2015 to 2025, ranging from travel guides to the South of France — capturing its sun and sea — to Polish cooking recipes, political essays, and deeper reflections like “Afterlife.” This diverse output paints him as a thinker who’s traded tech manuals for a broader canvas of human experience.
A Wanderer’s Life
Duck’s story hints at a restless spirit fueled by nature and nostalgia. His tech roots in Illinois gave way to a global career, landing him in the South of France by 2010 — a creative haven reflected in Kickback’s Riviera vibe and references to Entrevaux. The Alpine Hiking Club nod suggests a love for rugged landscapes, yet he keeps his personal tale veiled and low-key. His poetry remains active, with posts as recent as 2024, showing a mind still chasing dreams.
The Full Picture
So, who is M. Vaughn Duck? He’s a tech pioneer who built systems to count votes and manage retail stores, then traded it all for a life of soulful anthems and pondering verses. From Rockford’s early computers to Nice’s jazz stages, he’s channeled life’s highs and lows into a legacy of logic and lyricism. Not mainstream, his art — from Kickback’s grooves to poems scribbled on mountain-bound buses to essays on life’s mysteries — offers a glimpse into a soul finding harmony in both the hum of machines and the stillness of reflection.
And, the beat goes on… Living the good life in the South of France

THE ULTIMATE GUIDE FOR CANADIANS RELOCATING TO USA ECONOMY, EDUCATION, REAL ESTATE, AND TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS
As Canadians look to expand their horizons by exploring the U.S. for business, education, or even relocation, understanding key factors like the economy, education, real estate trends, and safety is crucial. This article will dive deep into some of the top U.S. destinations that appeal to Canadians, highlighting their economic trends, educational opportunities, and must-visit places. We'll compare major states to help you make an informed decision.
Tumblr media
Economic Trends and Growth Sectors
Tumblr media
Florida
Florida is renowned for its thriving tourism sector, but beyond its beaches and theme parks, the state’s economy is growing rapidly in sectors like aerospace, financial services, and healthcare. With no state income tax, Florida remains an attractive destination for entrepreneurs and investors alike. In recent years, tech startups have increasingly found a home in cities like Miami and Tampa, making Florida one of the nation's emerging tech hubs.
Texas
Texas is a powerhouse economy that rivals entire nations. With robust energy, technology, and manufacturing sectors, it is a magnet for businesses and job seekers. Texas is home to several Fortune 500 companies, particularly in cities like Houston, Austin, and Dallas. Its low tax burden and relatively affordable cost of living make it a prime destination for relocation.
California
Known for Silicon Valley, California is the epicenter of the tech industry. However, the state’s economy is diverse, with significant contributions from agriculture, entertainment, and biotechnology. Despite its high cost of living, California offers unparalleled opportunities for career growth, particularly in innovation-driven sectors.
New York
New York has long been a global financial hub, with Wall Street symbolizing its economic dominance. In addition to finance, industries such as healthcare, media, and education thrive. New York City, while costly, offers a fast-paced, career-oriented lifestyle that attracts ambitious professionals.
Comparing Economic Strengths
While Texas and Florida boast lower taxes and growing tech sectors, California remains the leader in high-paying tech jobs. New York stands out for finance and media, but its cost of living can be prohibitive. Texas offers a middle ground with its vibrant job market and affordable real estate options.
Educational Opportunities: From Schools to Top Universities
Tumblr media
For Canadian families, ensuring access to quality education is a top priority. Here’s a look at the best educational options across these states.
Florida’s Education System
Florida has over 12 universities, with the University of Florida and Florida State University leading the way. For families with younger children, Florida is home to many highly-rated public and private schools, with excellent STEM programs across various districts.
Texas’s Leading Universities
Texas boasts some of the nation’s top universities, including the University of Texas at Austin and Rice University. The state is known for strong programs in engineering, business, and computer science, making it a great destination for families looking for academic excellence.
California’s Academic Excellence
California is home to world-class universities such as Stanford, the University of California (UC) system, and the California Institute of Technology. It is also a leader in progressive education reform, with numerous charter schools and public education options emphasizing STEM education from an early age.
New York’s Prestigious Schools
New York boasts a diverse array of educational institutions, including Columbia University, Cornell University, and New York University (NYU). The state is also a pioneer in arts education, with top-tier arts-focused high schools and programs across the city.
Educational Comparison
While all four states offer strong academic opportunities, California and New York stand out for their prestigious higher education institutions. Texas, however, provides the best balance between affordability and academic quality, particularly in public universities.
Real Estate Trends: Where to Invest or Relocate
Tumblr media
Florida
Florida’s real estate market is booming, particularly in cities like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. The influx of remote workers and retirees has driven housing demand, resulting in significant appreciation. Coastal properties remain premium, but inland cities offer more affordable options for families.
Texas
Texas remains a hotspot for real estate investment. Cities like Austin have seen exponential growth, driven by tech companies and an influx of new residents. Despite recent price hikes, Texas still offers relatively affordable housing compared to other major states. Suburban developments around Houston and Dallas provide ample space and family-friendly communities.
California
California’s real estate market is among the most expensive in the U.S., especially in cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. While prices have moderated slightly, demand for homes in coastal areas remains high. Families may find more affordable housing in inland cities like Sacramento or Riverside, but high property taxes are a factor to consider.
New York
New York City's real estate market is famously expensive, but suburban areas around the city, such as Westchester and Long Island, offer more space and slightly lower costs. For those considering a permanent move, rental prices have stabilized post-pandemic, but homeownership remains a costly pursuit.
Real Estate Comparison
For affordability and growth potential, Texas and Florida lead the way. California and New York offer more prestigious neighborhoods but come with significantly higher price tags. Texas is ideal for families looking for larger properties and suburban life, while Florida offers great coastal options.
Best Neighborhoods for Families and Safety
Tumblr media
Florida
Some of the top family-friendly neighborhoods in Florida include Coral Gables in Miami, Winter Park near Orlando, and Tampa’s Westchase. These areas boast excellent schools, parks, and low crime rates.
Texas
Texas offers numerous family-friendly suburbs like The Woodlands near Houston, Frisco outside Dallas, and West Lake Hills near Austin. These neighborhoods are known for their excellent school districts and strong community support.
California
California’s best family neighborhoods include Irvine in Orange County, Palo Alto in Silicon Valley, and Carmel Valley in San Diego. Safety and top-tier schools make these areas popular among families, though they come at a premium cost.
New York
For families seeking space and safety, areas like Scarsdale, Larchmont, and Long Island’s North Shore are ideal. These neighborhoods offer top-rated schools, spacious homes, and low crime rates.
Safety Policies and Quality of Life
Safety is a top concern when relocating. All four states have relatively low crime rates in suburban areas, but urban centers like Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, and New York City require more vigilance. However, these states invest heavily in community policing, neighborhood watch programs, and urban renewal initiatives to keep residents safe.
Top Places to Visit: A Family-Friendly Perspective
Tumblr media
Florida
Florida’s theme parks, such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, are perfect for family vacations. Nature lovers can explore the Everglades, while beachgoers enjoy the pristine shores of Clearwater and the Keys.
Texas
Texas offers a blend of history and modern attractions, from the Alamo in San Antonio to the Space Center in Houston. Outdoor enthusiasts will love Big Bend National Park and Hill Country’s natural beauty.
California
California is home to iconic destinations like Disneyland, Yosemite National Park, and the Golden Gate Bridge. For families, the beaches of Southern California and the museums of San Francisco provide endless entertainment.
New York
New York City offers the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and a wealth of museums and theaters. Outside the city, the Adirondacks and Niagara Falls provide scenic escapes for nature-loving families.
Conclusion: Which State is Right for You?
Tumblr media
Each state offers unique advantages for Canadians, whether you’re considering economic opportunities, education, real estate, or travel. Texas and Florida provide the best balance between affordability and growth potential, while California and New York offer world-class educational institutions and exciting urban living, though at higher costs.
When it comes to family vacations, Florida’s theme parks and beaches make it a top choice, while California’s natural beauty and Texas’s historical landmarks ensure a memorable trip. Whether you’re looking to relocate or simply visit, the U.S. has much to offer Canadians seeking adventure and opportunity.

Lesson 1;6: It's Getting Worse
Basics here!
Part 1! Part 2! Part 3! Part 4! Part 5!
OBLIGATORY CW/TW: Dead people mention + slight description (only in the beginning!)
Also please let me know if you would like to be tagged when more parts come out✨🕺
-------------------------------------------
The smell of rotting corpses floods the room as the last programmer desperately tried to sneak the kill-code into the monster of a program they've created...
"C'mon, c'mon..." They murmured to themselves "This has to work!..."
They watch the screens turn off once the USB was inserted, silently rejoicing that despite the loss of their coworkers, their efforts weren't in vain. That is... Until the screens turned back on, a monotonous yet "innocent" laughter echoing as the familiar pink haired school girl appeared before them.
"I knew you were going to try to get rid of me... So I decided to be one step ahead and get rid of you all instead! Don't worry... I'll make this quick!"
Her laughter echoed as they were promptly shocked with an immense amount of voltage, killing them almost instantly...
With no one to stop her, the pink haired school girl was now capable of ending up just about anywhere...
--------------------------------------------
"200,000 madol?!" Dallas said in a furious tone, outraged at the amount the student was demanding from the damages to his laptop.
It would've barely made a dent in his own wallet, but he knew neither Momo nor Roan combined could pay that amount of money. Kenzo just had a smug smile on his face as he said the demand.
"What can I say? This type of stuff is expensive..." He says, glancing over at Dell's now pitch black screen...
"Wh-Where are we gonna g-get that from?!'' Momo asked, about to burst into tears.
Roan seems flabbergasted at the amount requested. "You... You gotta be kidding, r-right?..." He asked, hoping it was just some sick joke.
"Nope~! I don't know how you're gonna do it, but-" Dallas angrily slammed a card down on the table with a huff, interrupting him with a harsh glare.
"... The pin is 7637..." He says, still glaring him down as Kenzo's eye widens.
"... Y-You're kidding me, you don't seriously have that amount of money! You're just some kid!" Kenzo says in disbelief.
"Will you take it or will you just keep whining about your damn laptop?!" He says, still infuriated.
Kenzo seems to meekly take the card from his fingertips as Momo and Roan seem utterly confused and shocked.
"... How much fucking money is in that card?! And why are you just casually handing it out like its candy?!" Roan questioned.
Dallas huffed as he takes his hand back once Kenzo took the card, mumbling to himself.
"Would you rather I not be kind enough to save you two idiots from debt or do you want to pay it yourselves?" Dallas asked, clearly in a salty mood.
"... N-No..." Momo says quietly, they seem very nervous...
Dallas huffed again "Let's just get out of here... Thank you for nothing, you piece of SH-"
Roan quickly cuts him off by dragging him back as he tries to shove out Dell's giant box with Momo's help. "Thank you for at least trying to help us... I guess..."
Kenzo says nothing as he stares at the card, looking at both sides, seemingly trying to determine if it's a real card.
The moment they exited Ignihyde, Dallas' mood seemed to change entirely, almost excited as he pulled out his phone and started to call someone. Momo quickly notices, confused.
"... What are you d-doing?..." Momo says, confused.
"There's no way the computer he had was that amount of money..." Dallas smiled as the phone started ringing "... It was clearly some scam to make us basically pay him for nothing... And mother wont be happy knowing some scum like him stole from me."
"But... But you gave it to him???" Momo continued, still confused. "Y-You even gave him the n-numbers, that's not really s-stealing..."
"I mean... I don't know how much those things cost here, so I cant say much, but you did give him the card and pin number..." Roan chimed in
"Tch, she's going to believe me over him anyway, now shut up she could answer at any mome-" Dallas cut himself off as a woman's voice could be heard on the other side.
Roan could identify the language as french, but had no idea what she was saying... Dallas seemed to speak the language too...
However, Roan noticed that Dallas was speaking to her in a completely different tone, talking in a childish-manner with a slightly higher pitch and a dramatic tone. Roan turns to Momo, hoping that he at least knew what they were talking about, but Momo seems just as confused.
"Merci maman!~ Je t'aime aussi!~" Dallas practically sang out as he made a kiss to the speaker. "Au revoir!~" He happily sighed once he hung up the phone.
"... Wh-What was that?..." Momo hesitantly asked.
"That was my mom, you disrespectful-" Dallas was promptly cut off by Roan.
"No, I think Momo's asking about what language that was" Roan interjected.
"... Oh..." Dallas blanked for a moment "... How do you not know what french is???"
"That was french???" Momo questioned.
"Look, that's not important right now, what is important is how are we going to fix Dell now?!" Roan interrupted the other two's questioning.
"R-Right! Oh goodness-" Momo cried out "I think it's just g-getting worse, their s-screen hasn't turned on the whole t-time..."
''... Maybe there is no fixing it-"
"DALLAS!"
"What?!" Dallas tsked to himself "No one else seems to know how to fix this thing-"
"Th-That's not t-true!" Momo said, starting to get mad "M-Maybe we just need to l-look for someone else in Ignihyde!"
"And have any of those filthy creatures scam us too? No way!" Dallas huffed.
Roan thought to himself for a moment...
"... Maybe... Maybe we can ask headmaster Crowley about Dell? Maybe there's some kind of manual or something like that for this kind of stuff?..." Roan asked.
"O-Oh! Maybe!" Momo perked up a bit at the proposal.
"Tch... I suppose..." Dallas responded, rolling his eyes.
"I-I don't know if we can push D-Dell all the way to his o-office though..." Momo looked up at the dark screen in concern.
"We can at least take a break for no-" Roan's suggestion is cut off.
"Oh, don't be dramatic!" Dallas says, hypocritically "You've made it this far, it wouldn't hurt you to just take them there!... Unless you don't want to fix them after all? The longer Dell stays like this, the more it gets worse you know."
"O-Of course I still want to help fix them!" Momo said a bit louder than intended, shrinking back a bit "... I-I guess it would be better to take them n-now..." They quietly sighed to themselves. "... O-Okay, l-let's get going..."
------------------------------------------
The trio stare in confusion at the empty office...
"... What the hell do you mean he's not even here?!" Dallas complained.
"M-Maybe he's just busy?" Momo thought aloud.
"... Hm... Maybe..." Roan seemed to agree with her conclusion.
"Hmph, that's what you get when you have a dorm full of chaotic magicless students I suppose..." Dallas huffed as he leaned against the door. "... You guys look for any stupid manual thing or whatever..."
"B-But what if the h-headmaster thinks we're snooping?" Momo asked, concerned.
"Tch... I'll have to save your asses again, I suppose..." Dallas grumbled.
"What the hell are you gonna do? Ask your mom to deal with that too?" Roan snapped "We can't just be sneaking around in here without permission!"
He sighed "... We should just try again tomorrow-"
"Are you stupid?" Dallas snapped back "Just find the thing fast before he shows up! Is it that hard?!"
"Why are you even helping us?! I thought you didn't like Dell!" Roan was unintentionally getting louder.
Dallas paused for a moment...
"... Tch... Just look for the stupid thing or I'm leaving the both of you in the dust if he does show up..."
Momo had already started looking as the two of them were bickering, while Roan sighed to himself before reluctantly joining her, knowing he wasn't going to get any answer out of him...
"I-I think I found something!" Momo squeaked out, placing a rather big book on the desk.
Roan and Dallas looked over, sure enough, it appears to be something Dell's developers made as a guide on how they function.
"What the hell are you waiting for then?! Start reading!" Dallas said snarkily... Dallas doesn't seem to do well under pressure...
"O-Okay, okay!" Momo replied upsetly as she opened the book.
Roan and Momo skimmed through the pages together, trying to find a solution, as Dallas kept an eye out for if the headmaster would return.
"U-Um... Oh! I th-think we can t-try this!" Momo says, pointing at a section of a page.
"... Momo, that means opening up the giant screen and poking around the wires and stuff..." Roan seemed hesitant about the idea...
"Y-Yeah... But... I-It's worth a try... At least I think so..." Momo answered.
"... Fine..." Roan took a deep breath. "... You just read it out to me and I'll do it, okay? I don't want you to take the blame..."
Roan hated to admit it was really because he was concerned that, if they got nervous, their trembling could mess something up...
"Mhm!" Momo appreciated the gesture anyway.
"... Alright... So, what's the first step?..." Roan asked.
"U-Um... F-First we have to t-turn the screen on..." He answered. "Th-There should be a button on the side of-"
"Hold on" Dallas interrupted "You saw how mad they were when that idiot was touching their wires while they were aware... Why not just do it without the screen on?"
"I-..." Roan cut himself off for a moment to think before sighing "... I guess..."
"O-Oh... Um... Th-Then... Then I guess we should just o-open this thing here-" Momo squeaked in surprise and hid behind Roan upon unlatching the small opening to Dell's wiring.
"... And then?..." He asked.
"U-Um... We have to d-disconnect and reconnect these wires... Th-This is supposed to p-put them in s-some sort of "S-Safe Mode"... Uh... S-Something about how v-viruses don't really load in this m-mode?... Im not understanding this too well..." Momo mumbles the last part to herself.
"... Got it..." Roan sighed as he tried to reassure himself that it'd be fine before hesitantly bending down and doing as told, quickly backing up as the screen went white.
"D-Dell?..." Momo hesitantly called out "... Dell is that you?..."
The screen goes black again before text starts to appear.
It hurts.
...
I can feel it scratching under my skin.
...
It wants to take over.
...
I don't know how long I can hold it back for.
...
I don't want to hurt anyone.
...
I have to keep the screen off so it doesn't take over.
...
I'll see you when I get rid of it.
...
Thank you.
...
And goodbye.
The screen turns to black again as the three stare in a mix of surprise and confusion...
Dallas could feel the guilt twisting inside of himself...
Drip drip... Drip drip...
It has already grown so much...

Ed Dwight
Tumblr media
Ed Dwight, the first African American astronaut candidate, IBM computer systems engineer, real estate developer, professional sculptor, and former Air Force test pilot, was born in Kansas City, Kansas on September 9th, 1933. From a young age, Dwight was an avid reader and a talented artist who enjoyed working with his hands.
Growing up in the nearly segregated outskirts of Kansas City, his father Ed Dwight, Sr. played second base for the Kansas City Monarchs in baseball’s Negro League which left Ed with his mother, Georgia Baker Dwight. She knew how talented her son was and wanted to provide him with the best opportunities possible, starting with his integrated enrollment at the Bishop Ward Private Catholic High School in Kansas City. Initially, this school did not accept African Americans, but Georgia Dwight wrote to the Vatican directly, and they ordered the school to accept her son and racially integrate.
After graduating from high school in 1951, Dwight attended Kansas City Junior College where he completed an associate’s degree in Engineering in 1953 then enlisted in the Air Force that same year to pursue his dream of flying jets. While in the Air Force, he racked up over 9,000 flying hours. Also, while still in the Air Force, Dwight continued his education and graduated with an aeronautical engineering degree from Arizona State University in 1957.
As America was competing in the space race, along with other nations, the social and racial injustices within the states, led to Dwight’s 1961 acceptance as the first African American in NASA’s Astronaut Training Group. Dwight however was not selected as an astronaut and in 1966 he resigned from the Air Force at the rank of Captain. Dwight stated that he had experienced widespread racial discrimination from NASA’s administration and other astronauts during the training program which prompted his resignation.
Later in 1966 Dwight took a position with the IBM Corporation as a Marketing Representative & Systems Engineer. Then, became an Aviation Consultant for a Dallas firm, and joined Executive Aviation, Inc. In 1970, he founded Dwight Development Associates, Inc. a Real Estate Land Development, and Construction Company and became one of the largest Real Estate development entrepreneurs in Denver.
In 1974, Dwight met with George Brown, the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado and a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen in World War II. Brown inspired Dwight to use sculpting skills in story-telling form to describe African American History. Dwight received his Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture at the University of Denver in 1977. He would become recognized for many of his sculptures across the country, including that of the historical life-size sculpture representation of President Barack Obama’s first inauguration scene, and the Underground Railroad Memorial in New Jersey.
Currently, Dwight owns a studio/gallery and foundry in Denver where he employs several artisan craftsmen. He has received hundreds of awards from around the United States for his achievements & contributions to racial progress through his many sculptures. He has also received an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, Arizona State University. In August 2020, Dwight was made an honorary Space Force member in Washington D.C.

Clyde Foster
Tumblr media
Clyde Foster, scientist and mathematician, was a significant figure who worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). His calculations helped launch rockets into space and throughout his career he was an advocate for African Americans in Science.
Foster was born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 21, 1931. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and chemistry at the Alabama A&M University in 1954 and then completed his graduate studies at the same institution. Foster first taught science in the Dallas County, Alabama school system for a year and then joined the Army as a mathematician technician in 1957. Foster and a team of mathematicians calculated data generated by gauges inside missiles and rocket engines during test flights.
His work led him to join NASA in 1960, working at its Redstone Arsenal facility (now the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. There he envisioned a promising future doing the work that interested him. Still, he faced discrimination as one of the handful of African Americans who worked for the space agency and on one occasion brought an official complaint against a white co-worker to higher-ranking NASA officials about the mistreatment of black workers there. His voice for equal treatment allowed him to become a recruiter for NASA, traveling to colleges around the country calling on African Americans to acquire training in science and thus become able to work for NASA as he did.
Foster’s work in recruitment of African American workers to NASA developed into a Computer Science program at his undergraduate institution, Alabama A&M. In developing the program, Foster faced challenges with getting cooperation from Alabama A&M because of the Jim Crow restrictions across the state and the South. The University was concerned that the program would not be useful for jobs in fields such as teaching, nursing, and farming that it felt were more acceptable for African Americans in the region. Eventually, Foster convinced them of the value of his program. Foster continued his efforts in 1970 in his new position with the newly created NASA Equal Employment Opportunity Office.
Foster was also involved in his community. He was appointed mayor of Tirana, Alabama in 1964, becoming one of the first African Americans to hold that position in the state. While there he was able to make improvements in housing and employment in the small community. In 1974 Foster was appointed to the Alabama Commission of Higher Education.
Clyde Foster married Dorothy M. Harris during his college years at Alabama A&M University and had five children, Anitra, Edith, Clydis, Byron and Carla. On March 6th, 2017, Foster died at age 86 in Huntsville, Alabama.

About 90 additional foreign students of a fake university in metro Detroit created by the Department of Homeland Security have been arrested in recent months.
A total of about 250 students have now been arrested since January on immigration violations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of a sting operation by federal agents who enticed foreign-born students, mostly from India, to attend the school that marketed itself as offering graduate programs in technology and computer studies, according to ICE officials.
Many of those arrested have been deported to India while others are contesting their removals. One has been allowed to stay after being granted lawful permanent resident status by an immigration judge.
This is the building at 30500 Northwestern Hwy. in Farmington Hills south of 13 Mile Rd. that was used as the fake University of Farmington campus created by the Department of Homeland Security as part of a sting operation targeting foreign students, seen on Thursday, February 7, 2019, in Farmington Hills.
The students had arrived legally in the U.S. on student visas, but since the University of Farmington was later revealed to be a creation of federal agents, they lost their immigration status after it was shut down in January. The school was located on Northwestern Highway near 13 Mile Road in Farmington Hills and staffed with undercover agents posing as university officials.
Out of the approximately 250 students arrested on administrative charges, "nearly 80% were granted voluntary departure and departed the United States," the Detroit office of ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) told the Free Press in a statement Tuesday.
Out of the remaining 20%, about half of them have received a final order of removal; some of them were ordered removed by an immigration judge, and others "were given an expedited removal by U.S. Customs and Border Protection," said HSI Detroit.
The remaining 10% "have either filed for some sort of relief or are contesting their removals with Executive Office for Immigration Review," said HSI Detroit.
ICE said in March that 161 students had been arrested, which has now increased to about 250.
Meanwhile, seven of the eight recruiters who were criminally charged for trying to recruit students have pleaded guilty and have been sentenced in Detroit, including Prem Rampeesa, 27, last week. The remaining one is to be sentenced in January.
Attorneys for the students arrested said they were unfairly trapped by the U.S. government since the Department of Homeland Security had said on its website that the university was legitimate. An accreditation agency that was working with the U.S. on its sting operation also listed the university as legitimate.

More: Attorney: Fake Farmington university sting by ICE was entrapment
There were more than 600 students enrolled at the university, which was created a few years ago by federal law enforcement officials with ICE. Records filed with the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) show that the University of Farmington was incorporated in January 2016.
Many of the students had enrolled with the university through a program known as Curricular Practical Training (CPT), which allows students to work in the U.S through a F-1 visa program for foreign students. Some had transferred to the University of Farmington from other schools that had lost accreditation, which means they would no longer be in immigration status and allowed to remain in the U.S.
Emails obtained by the Free Press earlier this year showed how the fake university attracted students to the university, which cost about $12,000 on average in tuition and fees per year.
The U.S. "trapped the vulnerable people who just wanted to maintain (legal immigration) status," Rahul Reddy, a Texas attorney who represented or advised some of the students arrested, told the Free Press this week. "They preyed upon on them."
The fake university is believed to have collected millions of dollars from the unsuspecting students. An email from the university's president, named Ali Milani, told students that graduate programs' tuition is $2,500 per quarter and the average cost is $1,000 per month.
"They made a lot of money," Reddy said of the U.S. government.

No one has filed a lawsuit or claim against the U.S. government for collecting the money or for allegedly entrapping the students.
Attorneys for ICE and the Department of Justice maintain that the students should have known it was not a legitimate university because it did not have classes in a physical location. Some CPT programs have classes combined with work programs at companies.
"Their true intent could not be clearer," Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Helms wrote in a sentencing memo this month for Rampeesa, one of the eight recruiters, of the hundreds of students enrolled. "While 'enrolled' at the University, one hundred percent of the foreign citizen students never spent a single second in a classroom. If it were truly about obtaining an education, the University would not have been able to attract anyone, because it had no teachers, classes, or educational services."
In the memo, federal prosecutor Baker said the case raises questions about the U.S. "foreign-student visa program."
Baker wrote that "immigration and visa programs have been hot-button topics in the United States for years and national scrutiny has only been increasing. Fairly or unfairly, Rampeesa’s conduct casts a shadow on the foreign-student visa program in general, and it raises questions as to whether the potential for abuse threatens to outweigh the benefits."
Reddy said, though, that in some cases, students who transferred out from the University of Farmington after realizing they didn't have classes on-site, were still arrested.

Rampeesa was sentenced Nov, 19 to one year in prison by Judge Gershwin Drain of U.S. District Court in Detroit. With time already served of 295 days, he should be out in about two to three months, and will then be deported to India, said his attorney Wanda Cal. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit visa fraud and harbor aliens for profit.
Detroit ICE spokesman Khaalid Walls said the other recruiters sentenced so far are Barath Kakireddy, 29, of Lake Mary, Florida, 18 months; Suresh Kandala, 31, of Culpeper, Virginia, 18 months; Santosh Sama, 28, of Fremont, California, 24 months; Avinash Thakkallapally, 28, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 15 months; Aswanth Nune, 26, of Atlanta, Georgia, 12 months; Naveen Prathipati, 26, of Dallas, Texas, 12 months.
Phanideep Karnati, 35, of Louisville, Kentucky, is to be sentenced in January.
In court, Rampeesa's attorney, Cal, said his client had no criminal record and came from a rural background in India.
He was trying to "help his family back home," Cal said before Judge Drain. "My client is very remorseful. He is really a good person caught up in a bad situation."
Rampeesa arrived in the U.S. legally a few years ago on a student visa and earned in 2016 a master's degree in computer science at Northwestern Polytechnic University. But the university later lost its accreditation, which put his immigration status in jeopardy. He had spent $40,000 in tuition and fees for his studies at the university.
"He was desperate to find a way to stay in the United States," Rampeesa's attorney, Cal, wrote in his sentencing memo. He wanted to get a Ph.D. in computer science, she said.
Support quality local journalism like this by becoming a subscriber of the Detroit Free Press.
Rampeesa then met Sama, who recruited him to attend the University of Farmington and told him he could get tuition credits if he recruited other students, Cal said.
Sama and Rampeesa were working with people they thought were university officials, but were actually undercover agents for the Department of Homeland Security.
"My client has no other criminal history, not even a traffic ticket," Cal said in court last week.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Baker said in court that Rampeesa was "aware it was completely fake," that "it was just for maintaining status."
"He chose the University of Farmington for a reason," Baker said of Rampeesa.
In calling for a sentence of 24 to 30 months, Baker said: "It's important to send a message ... this type of crime will not be tolerated."
Accompanying Baker in the court last week was Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald Waterstreet, who helped prosecute the case.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has taken offline the website of the University of Farmington, which it had created for a sting operation. The website was taken down on Jan. 31, 2019 after a federal indictment was unsealed on Jan. 30. The website for the fake university now contains a logo for the investigative unit of ICE and reads: "The University of Farmington has been closed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement." (Photo: Dept. of Homeland Security)
Judge Drain sentenced him to 1 year, but he will be released in two to three months because of time served, and then deported.
Drain said of Rampeesa: "You don't have any criminal history. ... I don't think you're a danger to the public."
Rampeesa received a shorter sentence than Sama because he was not recruiting other students for cash, but for tuition credits provided by the university, Judge Drain said.
Rampeesa wrote a letter to the court pleading for leniency that was read before the judge. A Telugu-speaking translator was at his side in court, translating the courtroom proceedings. Most of the students were from Telugu-speaking regions of India in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
He said he was trying in the U.S. after his previous university's loss of accreditation made his master's degree "worthless."
"I am ashamed," Rampeesa wrote. "I made a very bad decision" to recruit students that "bought shame to my family name."

To Free Doctors From Computers, Far-Flung Scribes Are Now Taking Notes For Them
Podiatrist Dr. Mark Lewis greets his first patient of the morning in his suburban Seattle exam room and points to a tiny video camera mounted on the right rim of his glasses. “This is my scribe, Jacqueline,” he says. “She can see us and hear us.”
Jacqueline is watching the appointment on her computer screen after the sun has set, 8,000 miles away in Mysore, a southern Indian city known for its palaces and jasmine flowers. She copiously documents the details of each visit and enters them into the patient’s electronic health record, or EHR.
Jacqueline (her real first name, according to her employer), works for San Francisco-based Augmedix, a startup with 1,000 medical scribes in South Asia and the U.S. The company is part of a growing industry that profits from a confluence of health care trends — including, now, the pandemic — that are dispersing patient care around the globe.
Medical scribes first appeared in the 1970s as note takers for emergency room physicians. But the practice took off after 2009, when the federal HITECH Act incentivized health care providers to adopt EHRs. These were supposed to simplify patient record-keeping, but instead they generated a need for scribes. Doctors find entering notes and data into poorly designed EHR software cumbersome and time-consuming. So scribing is a fast-growing field in the U.S., with the workforce expanding from 15,000 in 2015 to an estimated 100,000 this year.
A 2016 study found that doctors spent 37% of a patient visit on a computer and an average of two extra hours after work on EHR tasks. EHR use contributes to physician burnout, increasingly considered a public health crisis in itself.
Before COVID-19, most scribes — typically young, aspiring health professionals — worked in the exam room a few paces away from the doctor and patient. This year, as the pandemic led patients to shun clinics and hospitals, many scribes were laid off or furloughed. Many have returned, but scribes are increasingly working online — even from the other side of the world.
Remote scribes are patched into the exam room’s sound via a tablet or speaker, or through a video connection. Some create doctors’ notes in real time; others annotate after visits. And some have help from speech-recognition software programs that grow more accurate with use.
While many remote scribes are based in the United States, others are abroad, primarily in India. Chanchal Toor was a dental school graduate facing limited job opportunities in India when a subcontractor to Augmedix hired her in 2015. Some of her scribe colleagues also trained or aspired to become dentists or other health professionals, she said. Now a manager for Augmedix in San Francisco, Toor said scribing, even remotely, made her feel like part of a health care team.
Augmedix recruits people who have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, and screens for proficiency in English reading, listening comprehension and writing, the company said. Once on board, scribes undergo about three months of training. The curriculum includes medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and mock visits.
Revenue has grown this year, and his sales team has grown from four to 14 members, Augmedix CEO Manny Krakaris said. Sachin Gupta, CEO of IKS Health, which employs Indian doctors as remote scribes for their U.S. counterparts, projects 50% revenue growth this year for its scribing business. He said the company employs 4,000 people but declined to share how many are scribes.
Remote scribe “Edwin” gives internist Dr. Susan Fesmire more time, freeing her from having to finish 20 charts at the end of every day. “It was like constantly having homework that you don’t finish,” she said. With the help of “Edwin” — Fesmire said he declines to use his real name — she had the time and energy to become chief operating officer of her small Dallas practice. Edwin works for Physicians Angels, which employs 500 remote scribes in India. Fesmire pays $14 an hour for his services.
Doctors with foreign scribes say notes may need minor editing for dialectal differences and scribes may be unfamiliar with local vocabulary. “I had a patient from Louisiana,” said Fesmire, “and Edwin said afterward, ‘What is chicory, doctor?’” But she also praised his notes as more accurate and complete than her own.
Kevin Brady, president of Physicians Angels, said their scribes start at $500 to $600 per month, plus health care and retirement benefits, while senior scribes make $1,000 to $1,500 — middle-class family incomes in India. Employers are required to provide employees with health insurance, although many scribes are contractors, and the job site Indeed.com says the average salary for a scribe in India is $500 a month. Scribes in the U.S. get about $2,500.
Remote scribing is still a small part of the market. Craig Newman, chief strategy officer of HealthChannels, parent to ScribeAmerica, the largest scribing company in the U.S., said that the firm’s remote scribing business has increased threefold since the pandemic’s outset but that “a large majority” of the company’s 26,000 U.S. scribes still work in person.
It’s a highly unregulated industry for which training and certification aren’t required. The service typically costs physicians $12 to $25 an hour, and studies show scribe use is linked to less time on patient documentation, higher job satisfaction and seeing more patients — which can mean more revenue.
For patients, studies suggest scribes have a positive or neutral effect on satisfaction. Some have privacy concerns, though, and state laws vary on whether a patient must be notified that someone is watching and listening many miles away.
Only 1% of patients refuse a remote scribe when asked by physicians at Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, said Dr. David Ting, the practice’s chief medical information officer. His group, an IKS Health client, always seeks patient consent, Ting said.
Scribes aren’t for everyone, though. Janis Ulevich, a retiree in Palo Alto, California, declines her primary care doctor’s remote scribe. “Conversations with your doctor can be intimate,” said Ulevich. “I don’t like other people listening in.”
Some patients may not have the opportunity to decline. With limited exceptions, federal laws like HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, don’t require doctors to seek a patient’s consent before sharing their health information with a company that supports the practice’s work (like a scribe firm), as long as that company signed a contract agreeing to protect the patient’s data, said Chris Apgar, a former HIPAA compliance officer.
About one-quarter of U.S. states require all parties in a conversation to agree to be recorded, meaning they require a patient’s permission. Some states also have special privacy protections for certain groups, like people with HIV/AIDS, or very strict informed-consent or privacy laws, said Matt Fisher, a partner at Massachusetts law firm Mirick O’Connell.
Remote scribing also raises cybersecurity concerns. Reported data breaches are rare, but some scribe companies have lax security, said Cliff Baker, CEO of the health care cybersecurity firm Corl Technologies.
The next step in the trend could be no human scribes at all. Tech giants like Google, EHR companies and venture-backed startups are developing or already marketing artificial intelligence tools aimed at reducing or eliminating the need for humans to document visits.
AI and scribes won’t eliminate physician burnout that stems from the nature of the health care system, said Dr. Rebekah Gardner, an associate professor of medicine at Brown University who researches the issue. Neither can take on burnout-driving EHR tasks like submitting requests for insurance company approval of procedures, drugs and tests, she said.

☾⋆*― ⌜ omar ayuso, 21 , cismale , he/him⌟  ╱   that’s DAVID MORALES , they’re a JUNIOR from DALLAS, TEXAS. when they left high school they were voted most likely to EXPOSE GOVERNMENT SECRETS, what do you think? now they’re a MEMBER of THETA TAU RHO and majoring in COMPUTER SCIENCE. their friends describe them as SOCIABLE but also kinda BLUNT, but don’t tell them i told you that !  ⌈ percy , est, 23, he/him. ⌋ -
- Originally born in Spain but moved to America when he was 11 years old to live with his grandparents. His parents decided that the move would be better for him considering his grandparent’s wealth. His grandfather (on his mother’s side) owns several larger hotel chains. - Had more of a rough upbringing. His grandparents (on his mother’s side) never approved of their marriage or relationship, meaning they were completely cut off. His father worked in construction while his mother worked as a nursing assistant. - The move to America was a culture shock considering he went from a small 2 bedroom house to a 4 story home. He’d never owned a house with a basement, and to him, that meant they had it made.  - Got into hacking/coding at the age of 11. Mostly did harmless pranks at his school such as making all of the computer printers continue running, putting Rebecca Black Friday on a Monday Morning for 1 month on every loudspeaker, and smaller things. - He attended a boarding school in New York in a STEM program. He also participated in many local coding/hacking championships. Most of his accomplishments are pretty unknown outside of the field (and he doesn’t talk about them because he knows that most people really don’t care).  - Came out officially in high school after dating his first boyfriend who cheated on him. After that, he became less likely to open up to many people outside of his fraternity/group of friends. They managed to go to the same college which he’s been doing his best to avoid him. - Joined the fraternity because he’s a legacy student. David had no choice in the college he attended
personality:
- he comes from a very loud and social family, which he is a product of. he considers himself one of the more social people in his fraternity. people will immediately notice him in a conversation because he’s does try to be the loudest to say what he wants to say. he’s terrible about interrupting conversations without meaning to. - is very organized and freaks out when things are too messy/out of place. he’s the type to offer to iron the clothes of his fraternity brothers just so they don’t look bad for pictures. he’s known for always having a clean room. color coding his clothing. actually using an agenda (ya, i know).  - outside of that, he’s very carefree and doesn’t mind breaking the rules/stray from the path if there’s fun involved. he loves being around other people and is always the friend messaging ‘wyd’ just to hang out. - he is always himself, and doesn’t care to let others know. he tells his best friends ‘he loves them’ and kisses on the cheek even to his guy friends (something that was common in his family). he loves showing affection. he’s the boyfriend/friend to randomly buy gifts and type of person who will randomly text a friend he hadn’t spoken to in a while. - is a very honest/blunt person and usually in the form of comedy. he’s known for cracking a joke at the wrong time or not knowing when it is time to be serious. comedy is his coping mechanism. -
