we are talking about how our computer works and to get a better understanding we need to understand a little bit about the Block Diagram of computer. So, A block diagram of a computer system is the different parts of a computer and how they connect simply it helps us understand how the computer is organized and how information moves around. The main parts of a computer system are called input devices, the central processing unit (CPU), memory, output devices, storage devices, the motherboard, expansion cards, and software. Input devices are like the computer's ears and eyes, they let us give information or commands to the computer or the CPU is like the computer's brain it does most of the thinking and calculations. Memory is like the computer's short-term memory; it stores information that the CPU needs quickly. Output devices are like the computer's mouth and hands, they show us the results of what the computer has done. Storage devices are like the Machine's long-term memory they save information for a long time. The motherboard connects all the parts. Expansion cards add extra features to the computer. Software is the programs and instructions that make the computer work. So a block diagram helps us see how all these parts fit together and work as a team to make the computer do its job.

The functional units of the computer form the block diagram of computer.

1. Input Unit - An input device is any hardware device that sends data to a computer, allowing you to interact with and control it. The keyboard and mouse are among the most commonly used or primary input devices on a computer. However, other devices also input data into the computer.

2. Output Unit - The output device shows the processed data that was initially fed into the computer via an input device. There are various output devices that show output in various formats, including text, photos, hard copies, audio, and video.

3. Central Processing Unit (CPU) - The CPU is like the backbone of the computer system. A computer is nothing without it. All instructions that the computer receives from the user, or a set of instructions, are processed by this 'system'. The system then prints the desired result based on the instructions received and the input made by the user.

(A) Control Unit (CU)  - The Control Unit is a part of the Central Processing Unit (CPU). Which directs the operation of the processor. It is the responsibility of the control unit to tell the computer's memory, arithmetic/logic units, and input and output devices how to respond to instructions sent to the processor.

(B ) Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU) - An arithmetic logic unit in computing is a combinational digital circuit that works with integer binary numbers to execute arithmetic and bitwise operations. A floating-point unit, on the other hand, works with floating-point numbers.

(C) memory unit - The memory unit is the device that is responsible for storing data and information for the other functional components of the computer.
