For the esmp fic recs. I really love FulminateTheSun's Two Birds on a Wire series. It's focused on sibling relationship and has a good amount of politics & worldbuilding.

I think you'll probably have read it, but TheAmberShadow's Fish Out of Water from the recent AU fest fits what you described.

Oh, By the Power in My Veins by rebaobsessions is in progress, but also fits.

After the end of an empire(s) by Sir_Budginton is also in progress and is set post canon, but there's great worldbuilding and plot happening.

And I recently started a fic, Futile Warnings. It's worldbuilding is mostly canon adjacent, but there's some!
