“Mansruang” wins 4 awards from Thailand Box Office Movie Awards 2023After all, everyone joins forces to vote.

Thailand Box Office together with LINE TODAY organized the award ceremony for the most impressive movies of the year 2023 or Thailand Box Office Movie Awards 2023, which opened for fans to vote through the LINE application from December 15, 2023 to January 15, 2024. There are 5 award categories: Actor of the Year, Film of the Year, Film Director of the Year, Film Technique of the Year, and Screenplay of the year.

For Mansuang, it was able to win awards in 4 categories, totaling more than 150,000 points, including Film of the Year, Film Director of the Year, Film Technique of the Year. and screenplay of the year One of the directors and two leading actors of the film expressed their feelings after receiving the awards as well….

“I don't have any background as a director. This story is lucky to have P'Ning. (Asst. Prof. Dr. Panpassa Thupthian), who I trust very much to communicate with the characters and the script that I worked with Pee Bua (Parida Manomaipiboon), when Pee Ning communicates with the actors. “thank you, (y/n),” mick smiled shyly as both of you exited the paddock and walked down the streets of monaco, the sun setting as nighttime came. “so, uhm…how’s golf going? lily says you’re amazing at it.”

chuckling, you shook your head, “i hope she didn’t oversell me to you.” smiling as mick let out a laugh, you couldn’t help but let out a laugh of your own. “well, i just won my first major— the chevron championship— uhm, and i also managed to win the cognizant founders cup after that…before that i won the honda lpga tournament in thailand.”

“your kidding!” mick exclaimed, looking at you.

“oh no, did she oversell me? because if she did—“

“no, no! absolutely not,” mick smiled. “she talks about you a lot and before i met you i already had a good impression of you based off the things she said…and then i met you and you’re really just as much of an angel as she says you are,” he chuckled.

“yeah,” he nodded, “and for the record, she never told me you were winning tournaments left and right…when’s your next one?”

“please, that’ll be a dream come true.” laughing, you averted your gaze to the sunset as the both of you neared the restaurant.

you let out a deep breath as you took your driver from your caddy. spectators were crowded as they watched your group since you were the favourite to win. and you weren’t going to let the pressure get to you, absolutely not.

“approaching the tee, (y/n) (l/n)”

looking out into the fairway, you went through your pre shot routine before addressing the ball. drawing your club back, it wasn’t soon until the piercing sound of your metal club against the ball was heard as you looked where the ball went— twirling your club as you did so.

well done, good shot.

the other 2 players making their way to the fairway as soon as you picked up your tee and walked to your caddy, you gave a smile as you followed your fellow players to the fairway. whispering words of encouragement under your breath, you kept yourself calm as you found your ball in no time.

holding back a laugh upon seeing the small formula one car drawing stamped onto your ball, you looked at your caddy who gave you a thumbs up in encouragement before giving a glance into the crowd.

and you could’ve swore you saw someone you knew there.

gripping your club, you let a deep breath out as you repeated the same routine as before. swinging the golf club, the satisfying sound could be heard once again. squinting your eyes as your gaze watched the direction, you crossed your fingers together as it landed onto the green.

“not bad,” you chuckled, shrugging as you passed your club back to your caddy. “also is it just me or are my friends in the crowd?”

“it’s possible,” he shrugged, laughing as you two approached the green, your eyes glancing around the crowds before returning your focus back to the green as you did a quick analysis.

from where you were it would be a left to right, fast downhill putt. if you were able to find the right line and speed, you’d birdie the hole. and despite not knowing what your score was at the time, it was clear that it would be a putt that would decide your fate as a winner or the first of losers. marking your ball, you took another deep breath before stepping away, watching as your competitor run through her routine before making her putt.

the air grew tense as you wiped the sweat off your head, patiently waiting for your turn.

time seemed to slow down as you set up, your eyes focused on the ball as you concentrated on your putt. the soft sound of the metal hitting the ball could be heard as you watched the small golf ball roll down the green.

“go, go, go,” you mumbled under your breath, watching nervously as the ball slowed down as it approached the hole. “YES!”

smiling as you gave a hug to your caddy, thanking him for his congratulations as you quickly searched the bustling crowd with your, shaking hands with your competitors before you went on the search— confident that you’d find someone you knew in the crowd.

“(y/n)!” the familiar voice of lily could be heard as she squeezed her way to the front of the crowd, “that was amazing! oh my gosh! congratulations!”

“thank you so much, lily,” you smiled as you hugged her before pulling away only to see alex and a familiar blonde stood behind. “mick?”

“hi,” he smiled, giving a shy chuckle as he waved his hand. “lily said you’d be playing so i decided to come. congrats!”

“thanks, mick,” you smiled, a light blush forming on your cheeks as he pulled you into a tight hug, “it means a lot.”

“do you wanna go out to celebrate? dinner’s on me.”

“but you payed last time!” you exclaimed, “let me pay!”

“then take it as a date,” he shrugged. “and let me pay, my love.”

to expand on some of perth’s frankly shitty takes as a queer asian myself, i think it’s disingenuous of him and the fandom to infantilise these actors and act like there’s an “over-saturation of bls”. sorry in advance this is gonna be a long one.

to address the first point - all these actors are grown autonomous people who know what roles they’re taking. as i said in the tags of another post addressing this if you don’t want to act out sex with another man… don’t act in gay media. the primarily gay male writers don’t owe their straight actors a fairytale romance to justify portraying filthy dirty gay sex. gay people aren’t chaste, innocent people who stare at each other longingly and then dead fish kiss each other then never touch again. most have sex - casual or monogamous. portraying that isn’t exploiting actors. to act like the former is true is fetishising real queer people however.

now i have my critiques of certain companies *cough* domundi *cough* who cast actors who are quite literally barely legal with men in their thirties. however that is a completely different conversation around legal consent vs. ethics when money is involved.

now the big doozy - the bl industry being “over saturated”. oooft. firstly if people aren’t getting mad every time ANOTHER version of boys over flowers with the exact same plot is made then this just isn’t a valid take. but also, i’ve been watching queer dramas from all over asia since around the time gun started his career. for any other people who have also been around that long - congrats here’s your age pension card - but also you’d know it was slim pickings. we had either no proper representation or bad representation like addicted. when the BL boom in thailand hit that was HUGE. it meant not only did queer asians have a whole industry to see themselves in but also queer actors had somewhere to go. was it perfect? absolutely not but it was so necessary. the straight actors and fans taking part really need to take SEVERAL seats before saying anything like “there’s too much queer media”. no. there will never be “too much”.

if these actors are ever legitimately uncomfortable taking these roles it’s not like companies like GMMTV don’t make straight dramas. if you as fans don’t like the sex heavy shows go watch the dramas w the younger actors or god forbid just unpack some of your weird homophobia.

but we are allowed to want both quality and quantity. there’s room for both. not every dramas has to be as immaculately shot and thought out as things like ATOTS and Not Me.

i am honestly disappointed perth would spread such harmful rhetoric but i hope this sheds some light on why it’s Really Bad

Carter Hall x Reader

Plot: The leader of the JSA meets a civilian under the most ordinary circumstances.

Genre: PG-13

A/N: Congrats to @tom-whore-dleston🥰 on 1K! Thanks for also re-igniting my writing cells because I’ve been experiencing a major block. I’m not kidding when I say I almost wrote this in one shot. Using the prompt - “using the washing machines next to each other at the laundromat” This is a new character so feedback is always appreciated!

“Come on…” Carter grits, pressing the wash button in frustration to no avail.

“For god’s sake!” He banged his foot against the poor contraption. What perfect timing on a sweltering hot day.

Looks like he’ll have to find another laundromat.

He trudged along the path filled with takeout restaurants, almost crying in relief when he saw a small laundromat neatly tucked away at the corner.

Carter bursts into the air-conditioned laundromat. The sudden jingling of the bell shocking the sole customer in the shop who flinched slightly.

The cool air bought Carter back to his senses as he gave an apologetic smile to the woman who had just loaded a pile of laundry into the machine. It was time for him to get to work too.

“This machine works the best.” The woman pipes up. Getting Carter’s attention, she explains.

“They may look the same, but don’t let it fool you. I’m a regular here.” She suddenly comes to a halt before turning away quickly with a hint of blush on her cheeks.

Muttering his thanks, Carter places his belongings beside hers and starts to remove the dirty laundry from the bags. His eyes almost pops out as the first thing that greets him is Al’s blue domino mask with traces of blood.

He’s going to kill Al when he gets back.

Carter wakes up with a jolt to find that he’s still in front of the machine that was working hard to clean the dirt from the clothes.

“Excuse me…”

Carter blinks his eyes to adjust to the rays that were shining into the glass windows of the laundromat. The same woman stands above his figure, holding two cups of coffee.

She gives an airy laugh seeing Carter’s dazed figure scrambling to make himself presentable. This time, he can’t help but to feel embarrassed.

“Sorry,” she tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear, handing a cup to him. “I thought you could use a bit of caffeine. Laundry work isn’t easy.”

He chuckles, accepting the cup gratefully. Carter moves aside, allowing her to sit.

With an exchange of names, the two start to talk, time slowly forgotten. She tells him that she’s an English teacher at a public school. She loves to read on her off days at cute little cafes. She’s a sucker for Japanese food. But what struck a chord with him the most was -

“The feeling of flying.” She takes a sip of her coffee, eyes sparkling at the memory itself. I only did paragliding once on a trip to Thailand but I felt like I could take on the world.”

Carter’s voice is momentarily stuck in his throat. As much as he’s growing to like the elegant woman in front of him, he can’t afford to take the risk. It wasn’t just about him this time. So, he tells her that he’s contracted for private work.

A beep can be heard, breaking the conversation. Carter masks the regret behind his face. For the first time, he felt that he could hold a proper conversation without being fawned over. He’ll probably never see her again the moment she steps out of this laundromat, but he just can’t.

She stands up, as if to buy some time. Placing her fresh clothes into a new bag, she slowly slings it over her shoulder. Facing Carter, she gives a wave to which he reluctantly returns. And she finally leaves him alone to his devices.

As Carter returns to his coffee cup, he downs the last of the brown liquid, about to throw it into the bin when he sees a scribble on the white surface, followed by several numbers.

Call me!

P.S. hope you don’t have as much trouble catching bad guys.

A week flies by and Carter’s usual laundromat was up and running. But he finds himself standing in front of the same laundromat where he met the enigmatic woman.

Taking a deep breath, he pushes the door, allowing the gust of cold air to hit him in the face. He scans the laundromat, but there was no familiar face amongst the residents who were busy with their own pile of laundry.

He sees that the spot that he shared with her empty and makes a beeline for it. Two cups sit beside him.

Carter waits, and he tries to distract his mind with the second batch of laundry without any superhero gear in it this time. The cup of coffee is still hot, there’s still a chance.

Five minutes are left on the dryer and he’s starting to loose hope. He feels a little foolish even.

Just what was he thinking?

Shoving the clothes into his bag with a little more force than usual, he stands up with a huff and almost collides face first into her.

She doesn’t seem fazed as she sips the cup of coffee that he had bought earlier.

“Hope I’m not too late.” She grins, a slight stain on the top of her lip from the sip of coffee.

He reaches out, using his thumb to wipe it off. The tables have turned, and she quickly looks at her shoes, as if there was something interesting.

“You? Never.” As he throws the last of his clothes in, Carter notices that she is empty handed this time.

“I know a pretty sweet Japanese place down the road. How about dinner?”

She playfully pauses for a moment, as if contemplating the offer. Her facade breaks immediately, returning Carter a radiant smile.

“I would love that.”

A Washington DC jury has ordered Rudy Giuliani to pay $148.1mtotwo Atlanta election workers after he spread lies about them, one of the most significant verdicts to date seeking accountability for those who attempted to overturn the 2020 election. The verdict follows a four-day trial in which Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, her daughter, gave haunting details about the harassment and threats they faced after Giuliani falsely accused them of trying to steal the election in Georgia. The women, who are Black, described how they fled, are afraid to give their names in public, and still suffer severe emotional distress today. Their lawyers asked the jury to award them each at least $24m in damages. Giuliani’s attorney said earlier this week that awarding the plaintiffs their sought damages would be a “death penalty” and would be "the end of Mr Giuliani”. The damages included nearly $16.2m and $17m in compensatory damages for Freeman and Moss respectively. It also included $20m to each woman for intentional infliction of emotional distress. The jury also awarded an additional $75m in punitive damages. Giuliani also owes approximately an additional $275,000 in legal fees.

If Giuliani owes $148.1 million because of lies he's spread about two election workers, can you imagine how much Trump would owe for his nonstop dishonesty? I was thinking: maybe in the range of the GDP of Thailand.

The case is the latest in a series of cases in which plaintiffs have used defamation law to push back on lies spread about them since the 2020 election. The voting equipment vendor Dominion settled with Fox for $787m earlier this year in a defamation case. Freeman and Moss also have a pending lawsuit against the Gateway Pundit, a far-right news outlet. Last year, they also settled with One America News, another far-right outlet. Civil rights groups are turning to defamation law as a new tool to ward off misinformation. The lies about both women were a cornerstone of efforts by Giuliani and Trump to try to overturn the election results in Georgia. On 3 December 2020, Giuliani tweeted a selectively edited video that he claimed showed Freeman and Moss wheeling suitcases full of ballots out from under a table after counting had concluded for the night. The accusation was quickly debunked by Georgia officials, but Giuliani continued to spread the lie.
