You never thought you’d end up here. In the backseat of his car, the world outside reduced to a blur of neon lights and rain streaking across the windows. His hands are everywhere, touching your skin, pulling you closer, leaving a trail of heat that’s impossible to ignore. Your breaths are shallow, uneven, caught somewhere between urgency and uncertainty. It’s messy, fast, and you know it’s never going to last. But in that moment, it doesn’t matter.
You had been strangers once. You never imagined it would go this far. But here you are, both lost in the feeling of each other, and yet… it feels like you’re miles apart.
ᡣ𐭩
It all started when you didn’t expect it.
You remember the night you first met him. It was one of those nights where you had no plans, no real intentions. The party was loud, a blur of faces and music that pulsed through the walls. You didn’t even know why you were there. Maybe it was because your friends had dragged you along, or maybe it was because you were just looking for something—something to fill the quiet spaces inside of you.
The first time you saw him, he wasn’t anything special—just another guy among many. Tall, dark hair, a smile that you couldn’t quite place. But when you bumped into him, spilling your drink all over his shirt, you immediately froze, mortified.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry!” you blurted out, fumbling for your words, trying to wipe the spill from his chest.
He laughed. Softly. “It’s fine, really. No harm done.”
His eyes were warm, and for a brief moment, you felt like he was the only person in the room. You barely noticed the music anymore. There was something about the way he looked at you that made everything else fade into the background.
“I’m Jeongin,” he said, offering you a hand.
You introduced yourself, and that was it. A simple exchange of names. But there was something about him, a kind of energy that lingered after the conversation ended. You didn’t think much of it at the time, just another stranger in a sea of faces.
ᡣ𐭩
But things have a way of changing, don’t they?
The first few weeks after the party, you didn’t think much about Jeongin. He was just another person in your life. You’d pass by him in the hallways, maybe exchange a quick smile, but that was it. But then, one evening, you ran into him in the library. He was sitting alone, flipping through a book, looking more relaxed than you had ever seen him before.
“Hey,” you said, trying to sound casual. “What’s up?”
He glanced up, his eyes lighting up when he saw you. “Hey! Just studying. Want to join?”
You hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do, but you nodded. “Sure. Why not?”
You sat beside him, the quiet of the library settling around you as the minutes stretched into hours. At first, it was just small talk—talking about assignments, the classes you shared. But before long, the conversation shifted. You found yourself laughing at his jokes, talking about things you’d never shared with anyone elseyour hopes, your fears, your childhood memories.
It was easy. Too easy.
And that’s when you started noticing him more. Not just his smile or the way he made you laugh, but the way he made you feel—like you mattered. Like you weren’t just a passing thought in his life. You started texting him more, meeting up for coffee after class, spending your weekends together in a way that felt so natural, so right.
You didn’t think much about it at first. He was just a friend, right? But even then, you could feel something shifting between you both, something you couldn’t name, something that made your heart beat a little faster every time he looked at you.
ᡣ𐭩
The moment it happened, you didn’t even see it coming.
One evening, it was just the two of you—sitting on the balcony at his apartment, the city lights flickering in the distance. You’d just finished dinner, and the conversation had slowly shifted to more personal things, things you had never dared to say aloud before.
“I think you’re one of the few people who actually listens when I talk,” Jeongin had said, his voice quieter than usual, his eyes soft.
You couldn’t help but smile. “I’m always listening.”
He was looking at you differently now, his gaze more intense, more focused. The space between you seemed to shrink, and your chest tightened. You wanted to say something, anything, but your words caught in your throat.
You felt his hand brush yours, and it was like the world stopped. Your breath hitched as he leaned in slowly, hesitating just a moment before his lips met yours.
The kiss was everything you didn’t know you needed. There was no hesitation, no second-guessing, just the overwhelming rush of wanting and being wanted. His hand cupped your cheek, pulling you closer, and you responded eagerly, the taste of him lingering on your lips.
But even in that kiss, you could sense something shifting inside of you—this wasn’t just a fleeting moment. You were both crossing a line, one you weren’t sure you could come back from.
The next few days passed in a haze, the thrill of being with him clouding your thoughts. You were officially more than friends, but neither of you spoke about it. It felt like an unspoken agreement between the two of you—no labels, no expectations, just the feelings that both of you kept buried deep down.
But it wasn’t long before the cracks began to show.
ᡣ𐭩
It was one of those nights when everything felt a little too much. The air was thick with tension, and the heavy weight of unspoken words hung between you both. You were both drunk, but there was a certain clarity in the way you looked at him.
You’d been out with friends at a club, and now you were in his car, parked in an empty lot, the sound of the rain tapping against the windows. His hand was on your leg, drawing lazy circles on your skin. He was leaning close, his breath warm against your neck, and you couldn’t deny that you wanted him. You needed him.
You let him kiss you again, this time deeper, more desperate. His hands were everywhere—on your waist, your back, your thigh. You could feel the heat building between you both, the need, the desperation, as if this moment was the only thing that mattered.
In the backseat, it was all about chasing that feeling—the feeling of being wanted, of being seen. His lips were on your neck, his body pressed against yours, and you could feel every inch of him.
It was reckless. It was messy. But it was you both searching for something—something you couldn't name, something you couldn’t hold onto.
But even in that moment, you knew it wouldn’t last.
ᡣ𐭩
Things between you both became complicated after that night. The chemistry, the passion—it was always intense, but it wasn’t enough to keep the distance from growing. Jeongin pulled away more and more, his texts shorter, his responses slower. You tried to ignore it, but the cracks were undeniable.
You wanted to talk about it, to ask him where you stood, but every time you tried, he’d shut you down with a simple excuse—“I’m busy,” or “I’ve got a lot going on right now.”
But you knew. You knew what was happening.
One evening, you sat in his apartment, the silence between you unbearable. You couldn’t ignore the distance anymore.
“I can’t do this anymore, Jeongin,” you said, your voice trembling despite yourself. “I’m tired of pretending everything’s fine.”
He looked at you, his expression unreadable. “What do you mean?”
“I mean this,” you gestured between you both, your hands shaking. “This… whatever this is. I can’t keep doing this if you’re not here with me. You’re not really here, Jeongin. Not anymore.”
There was a long pause. You didn’t look at him. You couldn’t.
Finally, he spoke, his voice quiet. “Maybe I’m not, then.”
That was it. No apology, no fight. Just a simple acknowledgment that you both knew things weren’t working. You both had been drifting for so long, it was only a matter of time before it ended.
ᡣ𐭩
After the breakup, you tried to move on. You went to class, you hung out with friends, you kept yourself busy. But every time you saw him—whether on campus or in passing—there was a part of you that ached.
He didn’t reach out, and neither did you. The silence between you was louder than anything you could say.
Months passed. You both moved in different circles, but every once in a while, you’d catch a glimpse of him. He never looked at you the same way again. He never even looked at you at all.
You were strangers again.
And somehow, that hurt more than anything else.
You never saw him again after that day at the coffee shop. He was just another face in the crowd, another memory.
A stranger.

hope yall enjoyed <33

You stared at yourself in the mirror, your fingers hovering over the drawer where your favorite lipstick was hidden. The anticipation was nearly overwhelming as you ran your hands through your hair, fixing the waves just the right way. Tonight was supposed to be fun, carefree — just like the vibe you were going for. The music was already blasting from your speakers, the upbeat rhythm of a song you couldn’t get enough of.
It was the kind of night you’d been looking forward to all week. A party at the rooftop bar with your closest friends, and someone who always managed to steal your attention — Kim Seungmin. The thought of him made your stomach flutter as you glanced over at your phone, checking the text that you had received earlier:
Seungmin: "Can’t wait to see you tonight. You’re going to look amazing."
A smile tugged at the corner of your lips. You could already feel his gaze on you, his warmth that always made you feel at ease despite how nervous you could get. And tonight, you were determined to let go, to have fun and let the night carry you.
The lipstick finally went on, a deep red that made your lips look more luscious than you remembered. You stepped back to admire your work, the final touches coming together. A quick glance at the time made you realize Seungmin would be arriving soon. You quickly slipped into your outfit — a sleek black dress that hugged your curves perfectly and shimmered under the dim light of your room. You didn’t often wear something this bold, but tonight was the night to feel confident, to feel... hot.
Just as you finished adjusting your heels, there was a knock on the door.
"Coming!" you called out, your heart picking up speed.
You opened the door to find Seungmin standing there, his usual effortless charm on full display. His eyes widened slightly as he took you in, a playful grin forming on his lips.
"Well, look at you," he said, voice dripping with admiration. "You look stunning."
You chuckled, stepping aside so he could come in. "I could say the same about you. You’re looking pretty good yourself."
He twirled once, showing off his sleek black jacket and perfectly fitted pants. "I try. But you—" He paused, eyes locking onto yours as if he couldn’t look away. "You look... hot. Like, seriously, you might just set this whole place on fire."
You laughed softly, feeling a blush creeping up your neck. His compliments always had this way of making you feel special, but tonight, they felt different. They felt more intense, more meaningful.
"Ready to go?" you asked, trying to play it cool despite the warmth bubbling in your chest.
"Yeah," he said, his voice a little softer than usual. "Let’s make tonight unforgettable."
The party was already in full swing by the time you and Seungmin arrived. Music thumped in the background, and laughter filled the air. The view from the rooftop bar was incredible, the city lights twinkling in the distance, and for a moment, you forgot about everything else. You were just two people enjoying a night out.
Seungmin had a way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room. Every time your eyes met, a spark seemed to ignite, and you couldn’t help but smile in his direction. He wasn’t exactly shy, but there was a quiet intensity to him tonight that had you guessing.
As the night went on, you found yourself lost in conversation with him, the world around you fading into the background. He’d make you laugh with his playful teasing, and then pull you close for a slow dance, his arms wrapped around you protectively. There was something magnetic about the way he moved, confident and yet grounded.
At one point, the DJ started playing an upbeat track — the kind that made you want to move, to let loose. You grabbed Seungmin’s hand, dragging him toward the dance floor.
"Come on," you said, excitement bubbling in your voice. "Let’s dance!"
He raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You want to dance? Are you sure you can keep up with me?" he teased, tugging you closer with a grin.
You shot him a playful look. "I think I can handle it."
As the music blared through the speakers, you felt the energy of the crowd around you. The beat was infectious, and you couldn’t help but sway to it, your body moving in sync with the rhythm. Seungmin was right there with you, his moves smooth and effortless. He didn’t miss a beat, and his eyes never left you as you danced together.
You felt free, the world around you slipping away as you let go of any worries. It was just you, Seungmin, and the music.
Later in the evening, as the party started to wind down, you and Seungmin found yourselves on a quiet part of the rooftop, away from the crowd. The cool breeze brushed against your skin, and the city skyline stretched out before you. You leaned against the railing, the lights below casting a soft glow around you.
Seungmin stepped closer, his voice low as he spoke, breaking the comfortable silence.
"You know," he started, his gaze serious now, "there's something about you tonight. It’s like you’re glowing."
You turned to him, curiosity in your eyes. "What do you mean?"
His hand brushed a strand of hair away from your face, his fingers lingering on your skin. "You’re different tonight. You’ve always been beautiful, but tonight... you’re unstoppable. Confident. Hot, even."
You smiled softly, feeling the weight of his words settle in your chest. "Well, I had a little help," you teased, glancing up at him.
Seungmin chuckled, his fingers grazing the back of your hand before he took it in his. His thumb brushed over your knuckles, sending a spark of warmth through your body. "Maybe," he said quietly, "but I think it's all you. You’ve always had that spark."
The moment felt suspended in time, just the two of you standing together, the noise of the party forgotten. There was something more between you two tonight, something that felt like it was just beginning to unfold.
"Seungmin," you whispered, "do you think we could make this night last just a little longer?"
He smiled, his eyes glinting mischievously as he leaned in, his voice barely audible. "I think we can."
The music continued to pulse in the background, but in that moment, you were lost in his gaze, in the connection you shared. Whatever happened after tonight, you knew it would be unforgettable.

Seungmin leaned against the railing beside you, his heart racing. The way you looked at him, the way you moved, had completely captivated him tonight. Everything about you was magnetic — your confidence, your charm, the way you smiled at him like you shared some secret only the two of you knew.
He couldn’t help but watch you with admiration. When you laughed, when you danced, when you spoke — it was like you were on fire. And he? He was just mesmerized, unable to look away.
He wasn’t sure how it happened, but tonight, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted. Maybe it was the way your fingers brushed together, or the way your eyes lingered on him longer than usual. Whatever it was, it had him thinking that this night would be more than just another party.
As you turned to him, a smile playing at your lips, he knew that this was just the beginning.
"Let’s make tonight unforgettable," he whispered.
And he meant it.
The night had only just begun, but somehow, you both knew it would be one for the books.

hope yall enjoyed <333

The city lights blurred into streaks of gold and white through the rain-splattered window. You sat in the passenger seat, hands curled in your lap, your heart heavy with a question you weren't sure you wanted to ask.
Seungmin gripped the steering wheel loosely, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, but you knew he felt it too—the weight of something unspoken settling between you like a fog neither of you wanted to clear.
"Do you even mean it?" you finally whispered, your voice barely audible over the hum of the radio.
Seungmin’s fingers tensed for the briefest moment before he let out a sigh. "Mean what?" He knew what, but he wanted you to say it.
You swallowed, turning to look at him. "When you say you care. When you say you miss me." Your voice cracked at the last part, betraying the way your heart clenched inside your chest. "Or do you just say it because you think it's what I want to hear?"
The car slowed as he pulled into an empty parking lot, the rain tapping against the windshield like impatient fingers. He turned toward you, his expression unreadable in the dim glow of the dashboard lights.
"Is that what you think? That I don't mean it?" His voice was softer now, but there was something else in it—hurt, maybe.
You looked away, exhaling shakily. "I don’t know. You’re always busy, and when you do have time, it feels like you’re somewhere else. Like you’re saying all the right things, but they don’t feel… real."
Silence stretched between you, the kind that made your chest tighten with the possibility that maybe, this was it. Maybe you were right. Maybe he didn't mean it.
But then, Seungmin reached out, his fingers hesitating before they curled around yours. "I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it," he murmured, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. "I know I haven’t been good at showing it, but that doesn't mean I don't care. It doesn’t mean I don’t—"
He stopped himself, biting his lip. The vulnerability in his eyes made something inside you waver.
You wanted to believe him. So badly.
"Then show me, Seungmin," you whispered. "Because I can’t keep guessing."
He nodded, determination flickering in his gaze. "Okay," he said, squeezing your hand. "Let me prove it."
And for the first time in a long time, you let yourself hope that maybe, just maybe, he really did mean it.

pairing: stranger!jisung (??) x fem!reader
summary: based off of double take by dhruv <3

a/n: guys im actually obsessed with how this turned out omg....erm anyways.... love yall <3
alternate version....
masterlist....
"boy, you got me hooked onto something, who could say that they saw us coming? tell me, do you feel the love?...."
The first time Han Jisung saw you, the world tilted slightly. You were sitting on a park bench, headphones over your ears, a soft smile tugging at your lips as you scribbled something into a notebook. The golden rays of the setting sun painted you in hues of warmth, and Jisung’s breath hitched. He’d only meant to take a quick walk to clear his head after a long day at the studio, but now he was rooted to the spot.
He took a double take, blinking as if to confirm that you weren’t some mirage conjured by his overworked mind. You were real. And you were beautiful.
The second time he saw you, it was raining. Hard. Sheets of water pelted the streets, and Jisung cursed himself for forgetting an umbrella. As he hurried toward the nearest coffee shop, drenched and shivering, he nearly collided with you as you stepped out.
“Oh, sorry!” you exclaimed, your voice soft but clear even against the drumming rain. Your eyes met his, and something inside him shifted.
“It’s okay,” he stammered, suddenly feeling every drop of water clinging to his skin. You held out a spare umbrella without hesitation.
“Here. You’ll catch a cold otherwise.”
He wanted to protest, but the sincerity in your gaze stopped him. “Thanks,” he said quietly, his fingers brushing yours as he took the umbrella.
Weeks passed, and Jisung found himself frequenting that same park and coffee shop, hoping for another chance encounter. It was unlike him to act this way—he wasn’t usually one for romantic daydreams. But there was something about you that drew him in, something he couldn’t quite put into words.
When he finally saw you again, it was at the park. This time, you weren’t alone. A small dog trotted beside you, its leash wrapped loosely around your wrist. Jisung’s heart raced as he debated whether to approach you. Before he could decide, your dog yanked the leash from your grasp and sprinted straight toward him.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” you called, hurrying after the dog.
Jisung crouched down, catching the leash with ease. “Gotcha,” he said, chuckling as the dog licked his hand enthusiastically.
You stopped in front of him, slightly out of breath. “Thank you. She’s… a little too excited sometimes.”
“No problem. She’s cute,” he replied, glancing up at you. “Just like her owner.”
Your cheeks flushed, and Jisung’s own face burned as he realized what he’d just said. “I mean…”
You laughed, light and genuine. “Thank you. I’m Y/N, by the way.”
“Jisung,” he said, holding out a hand. When you took it, his chest tightened, and he couldn’t help but smile.
As days turned into weeks, you and Jisung grew closer. Coffee dates turned into late-night walks, shared laughter, and quiet moments of understanding. He learned about your love for music, how you’d spend hours lost in your own little world with a pair of headphones and a notebook. In turn, he shared his own dreams and insecurities, baring parts of himself he rarely showed anyone.
But there was always a part of him that hesitated, a small voice in the back of his mind that wondered if he was reading too much into your smiles and lingering touches. Were you just being kind? Or did you feel the same pull he did every time your eyes met?
One evening, as the two of you sat on that same park bench where he’d first seen you, Jisung worked up the courage to ask. The sky was painted in shades of pink and orange, the air filled with the soft hum of cicadas.
“Y/N,” he began, his voice barely above a whisper. “Can I ask you something?”
You turned to him, your expression open and curious. “Of course.”
He took a deep breath. “Do you… ever think about us? About what we could be?”
Your eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, his heart plummeted. But then you smiled, reaching out to take his hand.
“All the time,” you admitted. “I just wasn’t sure if you felt the same.”
Relief and joy flooded through him, and he couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ve been thinking about you since the day I saw you,” he confessed. “You… you make everything brighter.”
You squeezed his hand, your own smile mirroring his. “Then I guess we’re on the same page.”
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the world in twilight, Jisung leaned in, his heart pounding. And when your lips met, it was as if the universe itself held its breath, the moment stretching into eternity.
In that kiss, every unspoken word, every lingering glance, and every hesitant hope found its answer. And for the first time in a long time, Jisung felt complete.

masterlist!

The weight of the day bears down on you, and it feels like your chest is too tight to breathe. Another fight with Heeseung. Another argument that made you feel small and unimportant. The love that was once vibrant has faded into something colder, something that no longer feels like home. No matter how many times you try, he never seems to listen. You find yourself asking, Why does it feel like I’m speaking a different language? It’s as though the things that once connected you two now only serve to push you further apart.
Your phone buzzes, and you don’t even need to look at it to know it’s Heeseung. You don’t have the energy to read his message. All it ever is is an empty apology, a quick fix to shut you up, to put a bandage on a wound that’s deeper than words could heal. “Sorry” it says. “I don’t know what’s wrong.” And it hurts, more than anything, that he’s never honest with you. That he never really tries.
You try not to let it overwhelm you.
Instead, you unlock your phone and scroll, searching for someone you can rely on. Felix.
You’ve never told him about your issues with Heeseung, not in full. You’ve never wanted to burden him with it. But Felix has always known when something was wrong. You’re not sure how he does it, but he always knows. His message pops up immediately: “Hey, you okay?”
It’s a simple text, but you know what it means. He cares.
“Yeah. Just tired.”
You close your eyes for a moment, wondering if that’s enough of an answer. It isn’t. But it’ll have to do. Felix knows when you’re lying. So you wait. Seconds later, your phone buzzes again.
“Come outside. I’m in the park.”
You blink, surprised. It’s late, but you know Felix well enough to understand that when he’s insistent, you don’t argue. You grab your jacket and head out the door. Fresh air, a walk in the park—maybe it’s exactly what you need to clear your mind, even if just for a little while.
The park feels quiet and peaceful, with the sound of distant traffic blending with the soft rustling of the trees. You can already see him in the distance, leaning casually against a tree. His blonde hair glows under the streetlight, and his familiar smile lights up his face as soon as he spots you.
“Hey,” Felix greets you, his voice warm. “You look like you could use some fresh air.”
You force a smile, but it’s weak. “You could say that.”
Felix studies you for a moment, his gaze intense but gentle, as if he’s reading you in a way that others can’t. “Come sit,” he says, patting the spot next to him on the park bench. “Tell me what’s going on.”
You hesitate for a moment before sitting next to him. The bench is cold, the metal biting into your legs, but his presence is like a soft, warm blanket. Felix always knew how to make you feel safe, how to calm the storm in your mind.
“You’ve always been there for me, Felix,” you start, your voice quiet, almost hesitant. “But I don’t know what to do anymore. It’s Heeseung. Every time we try to talk, it feels like I’m speaking a different language. He’s so distant, and I don’t know if I’m asking too much, or if he just doesn’t care anymore.”
Felix’s eyes soften, and you can tell that hearing this hurts him too. “You’re not asking for too much,” he says, his voice calm but firm. “You deserve someone who listens to you. Someone who sees you, who values you.”
You blink, your throat tightening at his words. Felix always had a way of making you feel like you were worth something, like you were more than just the sum of your worries. “But… I don’t know if I can fix it anymore. I don’t know if I even want to. But it’s so hard to let go.”
You feel the tears starting to well up again, but you swallow hard, fighting to keep them at bay. Felix doesn’t pressure you. He simply reaches out and brushes his hand against yours. It’s gentle, comforting, like a silent promise.
“You don’t have to let go all at once,” he says softly. “One step at a time. And you’re not alone. I’m here for you. Always.”
The sincerity in his voice cracks something inside you. Before you can stop yourself, you lean your head on his shoulder. His warmth soothes the tension in your body, and you finally let the tears fall, quiet sobs racking through you.
Felix doesn’t say a word. He just holds you, his arm gently around your shoulders. He doesn’t ask questions or try to fix everything. He just lets you be.

Felix watches you closely, his heart aching as you struggle with the weight of your emotions. He’s known you for so long—long enough to see the cracks in your smile, to hear the quiet pain in your voice when you pretend to be okay. He hates seeing you like this, especially when he knows it’s because of someone who doesn’t see you the way you deserve.
But it’s more than that, too. Felix has always been there for you, always done his best to support you. And even though he’s never said it, he’s always cared for you… more than just a friend.
There’s a part of him that wishes he could be the one to fix everything. He wishes he could be the one to hold you close, to make you feel safe in a way that Heeseung bastard never could.
“I’d follow you no matter what,” he thinks, his mind repeating the words from the song that had been stuck in his head all night. It’s a promise he’s always made, silently, in his heart. He would follow you through anything, even if it meant staying in the background, supporting you from the sidelines.
But right now, all he can do is be the friend you need. And if that’s enough, then he’ll take it.

Eventually, your tears begin to subside, and you pull away, sniffling and wiping your face. Felix looks at you, his gaze softer than you’ve ever seen it. His hand is still on yours, and you can feel his warmth, his steady presence.
“You deserve to be happy,” he says quietly, the sincerity in his voice almost too much to bear. “You don’t have to carry all of this by yourself.”
You nod, your chest feeling a little lighter. “I just don’t know what to do. I’ve been trying so hard to make it work with Heeseung, but…”
Felix squeezes your hand. “You don’t have to fix everything right now. It’s okay to take a step back and just breathe. And if you ever need to talk or need someone to listen… I’m always here.”
You look up at him then, really look at him. His eyes are filled with something deeper than just friendship, but he’s hiding it, like always. Felix is always there, always putting you first, always making sure you’re okay. You realize, in that moment, that he’s been more than just a friend to you for a long time. He’s been the one constant, the one person who always has your back.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough for now.
You smile at him, the first real smile you’ve had in days. “Thanks, Felix. You’re… you’re the best.”
He smiles back at you, a little softer this time, his eyes lingering on yours for a moment longer than usual. "I’ll follow you, no matter what. You know that, right?"
You nod, the weight in your chest finally starting to lift. “I know.”
As you stand up to leave, you feel lighter, like maybe you don’t have to carry the burden of everything on your own anymore. Felix will follow you, wherever you go, and for now, that’s enough.

hope yall enjoyed <3

ice.cream
pairing: barista!hyunjin x fem!reader
summary: based off of ice.cream by hyunjin....
tags/warnings: mentions of food, americano reference, non-kiwijin jinnie, ice cream (obviously), not that proofread, kind of suggestive if you squint, really short, prob forgot something
a/n: wait so many people liked deep end omg??? apparently if you change your aesthetic it gets more likes lmao....anyways....
this is a hyunjin oneshot based off of ice.cream!! hope yall enjoy <3
The sound of soft jazz filled the cozy café, blending seamlessly with the low hum of conversation. You sat at a corner table, a half-finished iced coffee sweating against your palm. It was an escape, a moment stolen from the chaos of your week. The air-conditioning kept the room cool, but your attention was drawn to the man behind the counter, his movements fluid as he worked.
Hyunjin.
The name sounded like a secret on your lips, though it wasn’t the first time you’d been here, not the first time you’d noticed him. He was magnetic in the way only some people could be without trying. The kind of person who could make stirring a cup of iced Americano look like performance art. His dark hair was pushed back, a loose strand rebelliously framing his face, and he wore a confident smirk that seemed to say he knew exactly the kind of effect he had on people.
Today was no exception.
“Another iced coffee?” His voice startled you, even though you’d been staring long enough to know it was inevitable he’d catch you.
You nodded, your throat suddenly dry. “Yeah. Sure.”
He leaned forward across the counter, a playful gleam in his eyes. “You know, we have a new special today. Something sweeter. Ice cream. You might like it.”
You raised a brow, trying to ignore the way your pulse quickened. “Are you saying I don’t like my coffee?”
“No,” he said smoothly, the smirk deepening. “Just saying you might want to try something… refreshing. Different.”
Before you could respond, he disappeared into the back, returning moments later with a small dish of ice cream. It was delicately presented, the creamy dessert dusted with a hint of cocoa powder and topped with a single mint leaf. He slid it in front of you, his fingers brushing yours for the briefest second—a spark that felt deliberate.
“On the house,” he murmured, his voice low enough to feel like a secret shared just between the two of you.
You hesitated before taking a bite, but the sweetness of the dessert melted on your tongue, its coolness contrasting with the heat creeping up your neck. When you looked up, he was still watching, leaning casually against the counter like he had all the time in the world.
“Good?” he asked.
“Yeah,” you replied, barely audible.
The smirk softened into something warmer. “I thought so.”
As the café slowly emptied, Hyunjin’s confidence lingered in the air. When he finally came around to clear the table next to yours, he paused, leaning just close enough for his cologne to mix with the lingering scent of coffee and sugar.
“You know,” he said, his voice teasing but somehow serious all at once, “if you like the ice cream, there’s more where that came from.”
His eyes lingered on yours, the challenge unmistakable.
And just like that, you knew—this was only the beginning.

deep end.
pairing: depressed!felix x fem!reader
summary: based off of deep end by felix on skz-replay...
tags/warnings: depression, female reader implied, not really proofread, random
a/n: hi guys! omg, i haven't done this in forever lmao. im just writing a small little oneshot because i finally feel like im out of writers block :D i was listening to deep end while i was just reading something and that gave me so much inspo!! i might do a ice.cream one for hyunjin :) hope yall enjoy!!! (also i think im changing how i write things hehe but i genuinely feel like this one wasn't enough….sorry)
The rain taps against the window in a soft, uneven rhythm, mirroring the ache in Felix’s chest. He sits hunched over on the couch, hoodie swallowing his frame, hands clenched tightly in his lap. His eyes are downcast, a storm brewing behind them, darker than the clouds outside.
You don’t say anything at first. Sometimes, silence is its own kind of comfort. You place the warm cup of tea on the coffee table in front of him, sliding it closer to his fingertips.
He doesn’t look up.
“Felix,” you say softly, your voice breaking through the weighty silence. “Talk to me.”
His shoulders tremble, but he shakes his head. “I can’t… It’s too much,” he murmurs, his voice low and cracked, almost lost to the steady drum of rain.
You kneel in front of him, your hands gently resting over his. They’re cold to the touch, stiff, as though he’s been holding onto the pain for so long that it’s frozen him in place. “You don’t have to do this alone. Whatever it is, we’ll face it together. Okay?”
He finally looks at you then, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. The vulnerability in his gaze is staggering, and it hits you just how much he’s been keeping bottled up. “I feel like I’m sinking,” he admits, his voice barely above a whisper. “Like no matter how hard I try, I can’t pull myself out.”
Your heart tightens, and you squeeze his hands reassuringly. “Then I’ll dive in after you. I won’t let you drown, Felix.”
For a moment, his expression cracks, and a single tear slips down his cheek. He quickly brushes it away, but you reach up, gently cupping his face. “It’s okay to cry,” you remind him. “It’s okay to feel everything, even if it hurts.”
He closes his eyes, leaning into your touch like it’s the only thing tethering him to reality. The tension in his body slowly melts away as you stay there, grounding him in the warmth of your presence.
“I just… I don’t know how to be okay again,” he confesses, his voice breaking.
“Then we’ll figure it out together,” you promise, your thumb brushing against his cheek. “One step at a time.”
The sound of the rain fills the room once more, but it no longer feels oppressive. It’s a steady rhythm, a reminder that storms don’t last forever.
As Felix lets himself fall apart in your arms, you hold him tightly, whispering reassurances into his ear. You don’t have all the answers, but for now, this is enough. Together, you’ll face whatever comes next.
Because sometimes, love is simply about diving into the deep end with someone and pulling them back to shore.
hope u guys enjoyed!!

nonsense!
pairing: minho x fem!reader
summary: based off of nonsense by sabrina carpenter <3
tags/warnings: minho is lwk kind of head over heels, minho tells himself he doesn't like us, studio/hyunjin mentioned, kind of odd confession? it was kind of rushed
a/n: hi guys!! k so i was listening to my playlist and like always!! i found a song to make a oneshot off of!! so todays is minho <3 i haven't done anything with him yet so im excited eeee! hope yall enjoy <3 (also asher!!! tysm for making me the banner :> credits to u @asherthehimbo <3)
masterlist nonsense link

Minho had never been the type to lose focus. He was disciplined, sharp, and always in control. But for some reason, lately, he couldn’t shake the thought of you.
It started with small things. A laugh that echoed just a little too loudly in the studio, or the way you’d offer him a bottle of water after practice. Nothing big, nothing that screamed obvious attraction, but enough to make his thoughts linger on you longer than he cared to admit.
He kept telling himself it wasn’t anything. Maybe you were just easy to talk to, or you were just really good at making him feel like he wasn’t the only one in the room. There had to be a reason he couldn't stop looking at you in rehearsals—he just hadn’t figured it out yet.
“Minho, are you even paying attention?” Hyunjin’s voice broke through his thoughts. He blinked, quickly refocusing on his friend.
“I’m listening,” Minho muttered, forcing himself to concentrate on the routine in front of him. But his mind was still drifting, like it had a mind of its own, right back to you.
You were across the room, catching your breath, and Minho couldn’t help but notice the way the sweat glistened on your skin, how your eyes were narrowed in concentration. He had seen you do this a hundred times, but today, it seemed different. Or maybe he was just noticing it more. He mentally cursed himself and refocused on the task at hand. Stop it, Minho, he thought.
But every glance, every smile you sent his way, only added to the strange feeling that had started to settle in his chest. It was subtle—just a small tug, but it was enough to make him question himself. He couldn’t let himself fall into this mess. Not with you. You were just... you. And he had better things to do than get distracted by someone like that.
After practice, Minho found himself walking out of the studio without thinking, but before he could get too far, he heard your voice calling from behind.
“Minho! Wait up!”
He paused and turned around, trying to act casual, but his stomach did that annoying flip when he saw you jog over, your cheeks flushed from the exercise, eyes sparkling as usual.
“What’s up?” he asked, trying to keep his tone neutral.
You gave him a quick grin. “I just wanted to thank you for helping me earlier. You didn’t have to do that, but you did. So… thanks.”
Minho shrugged, feeling his heart race for no reason at all. “No big deal. You were just struggling with that move. I didn’t want you to feel frustrated.”
He noticed how your expression softened at that, and for some reason, it made him feel... weird. Not in a bad way. Just different.
You tilted your head slightly, still looking at him, but now with a small, knowing smile. “You’re pretty nice, Minho. Don’t let it get to your head though,” you teased, tapping his shoulder lightly.
Minho chuckled, trying to ignore the way his chest felt tight. “It’s hard not to when you say stuff like that.”
There was a beat of silence. For some reason, it felt like you were waiting for him to say something more. He was sure you noticed the slight shift between the two of you, but he couldn’t quite figure out what it was.
“So, are you heading out?” You broke the silence, looking toward the exit.
“Yeah, I was about to. You?” he asked, his voice a little too eager, though he didn’t know why.
You shrugged. “I’ll be around. Maybe I’ll catch you later?”
“Yeah. Sure,” Minho said, trying to act cool, though inside, his thoughts were all over the place. Catch you later? What’s that supposed to mean?
Over the next few days, Minho kept telling himself he wasn’t interested. He wasn’t falling for you. That would be ridiculous. But every time he saw you—whether it was during practice, or when you stopped by the studio just to chat—it was like he couldn’t get his mind to stop racing.
There was something about you that made everything feel lighter. You didn’t care for the fame, didn’t care about the pressure, and yet you still gave everything you had in every moment. Minho admired that. Admired you.
But he couldn’t admit it to himself. He wouldn’t.
It wasn’t until a week later, after another long practice, that the words he had been avoiding finally spilled out.
Minho had just wrapped up his session when he found you sitting alone in the lounge area. You were scrolling through your phone, looking peaceful—something that caught his attention in a way he hadn’t expected. The way you were completely at ease with yourself made something shift in him.
You glanced up and caught him staring, and this time, he didn’t look away.
“Minho?” you asked, your voice light, but he could see the curiosity in your eyes.
He walked over, feeling the weight of the moment. “Hey.”
There was an awkward pause before you smiled and patted the seat next to you. “You’re looking serious today. What’s up?”
Minho shook his head, half-laughing. “Just tired, I guess.”
You nodded knowingly. “It’s been a long week for everyone.”
He stood there, contemplating the words he’d been holding back. “I’ve been thinking… maybe I’ve been a little distracted lately.”
“Distracted? How so?” you asked, tilting your head slightly, that spark of curiosity still there.
Minho ran a hand through his hair, sighing quietly. “It’s nothing,” he muttered, shaking his head again. This is ridiculous. You don’t even know her that well.
But then, the words tumbled out before he could stop himself. “I think I might be... getting too attached to you.”
There. It was out. He couldn’t take it back now.
Your expression shifted for a moment, processing what he said. You didn’t laugh. You didn’t brush him off. You just looked at him, as though trying to figure out if he was serious.
Minho felt a strange mix of embarrassment and relief. Maybe you’d think he was crazy, maybe you’d laugh it off. He didn’t know.
But then you spoke softly, “I’ve been feeling the same way. I didn’t want to say anything either.”
Minho blinked, his heart skipping. “You... you have?”
You nodded slowly, your gaze steady on him. “I didn’t want to make things weird between us, so I kept telling myself it was just… nonsense. But you’re not the only one who’s been distracted.”
Minho exhaled, almost in disbelief. “So, you—”
You smiled, a little shyly this time, but there was something warm in your eyes that made him want to stay in this moment forever.
“I guess we’re both just a little too stubborn for our own good,” you said softly. “But maybe we don’t have to overthink it.”
Minho’s chest tightened again, but this time, it felt like a weight he was happy to carry. "Yeah. Maybe we don’t."
And for once, he let himself relax. He didn’t need to question it, didn’t need to convince himself it wasn’t real. He didn’t have to know all the answers.
Maybe it didn’t make sense. But in this moment, it didn’t need to.

hope yall enjoyed <3

Your head leans back against the wall, your eyes close, and darkness quickly fills your vision. Every breath you take is labored, like there is a weight attached to your lungs. It stops you from breathing freely.
Your head pounds with each intake of breath, piercing through the darkness that you felt was slowly taking over you. Another person might say, "Y/N, you're being overdramatic, you're just sick, its not like you're dying." But they didn't know what it is like to lose a sister to sickness. They didn't know what its like to not be allowed to not be okay.
Yoon's were never anything short of okay.
The door flies open and your mother steps in. As she opens the door, you quickly sit up and look down at the homework that lays across your lap.
You're fine.
She scans you silently, her sharp eyes roaming over your calm face. It's too calm, apparently, because she steps closer.
The hand that she places on your shoulder does nothing to soften the blow of her words. "I hope you're not sick, Y/N. How are you supposed to get prepared?"
Your eyes fly to hers as she withdraws her hand. Who does she think she is? She's a b-
You cut over your own thoughts. "I'm fine, Mother." She nods. "Good."
Anger rises up in your throat, threathening to be released. What type of person doesn't take care of their child when their sick?
You swallow down the fury. It slowly slides back down your throat, to the dark, murky depths of your soul. She doesn't care, and you know it. All she cares about is you inheriting the family name, but all you care about is Jeongin.
She scans your room and decides to drop the subject. Instead, she says sharply, "Clean up this room. It's a mess."
You nod, diverting your eyes. You know better than to talk back.
At the door, your mother stops again. "Oh, and Y/N?" She turns, her sharp eyes landing on you. "You're not allowed to see Jeongin anymore." The words hit you. Hard. You freeze and force yourself to take a deep breath, holding in the cough the develops from it.
Yoon's are never anything short of okay.
A muscle in your jaw flexes, which is your only tell, but you force yourself to nod. She sees you purposefully stepping down and gives you a satisfied look before closing the door briskly.
As soon as she leaves, you grit your teeth, but immediately regret it when doing so causes your head to ache more than it already was. What was the reason? You understood that your family was mafia, yes, but what harm did he do?
You blink and find yourself in your bathroom. Your long, brown hair tied in a braid, your normally confident face pale from your sickness. Your eyes land on your form in the mirror. Maybe she's right, you think.
Jeongin doesn't need to be involved in this.
You step back and put back on your cold, forceful mask.
Yoon's are never anything short of okay.
It was for the best.
That night, you block him on your phone, delete your messages, block him on socials. Better yet, delete the socials. Change your phone number.
He didn't need to get potentially murdered from this.
It wasn't like you weren't used to this. You'd grown up your whole life having to push away friends, potential or not.
You shove down the guilt you feel when he knocks on your door the next morning.
He doesn't need to be apart of this.
You somehow manage to force yourself to go to school the next day, like every breath you take doesn't cause your head to feel like it was being split open or for your throat to close, like everything you do doesn't cause a wave of fresh pain to go through you.
You go to school, and this time, you let yourself watch the hurt in his eyes melt away to pure pain. You watch as his friend, Chris, wraps an arm around him and leads him away, but not before giving you a hard glare.
For a brief second, you can almost hear yourself yell out his name as he and Chris walk away from you. You can almost see yourself pulling him into a hug, talking to him, spending the rest of your day with him.
But then, you blink, and the image is gone, and all there is is you standing in a full hallway, students walking around you. You've never felt so lonely amongst so many people.
You let it hurt. But then, you straighten your shoulders and sigh, letting the pain from your sickness come before pushing that away, as well.
As you walk away, an icy chill comes over you again, and you only know one thing.
Yoon's were never anything short of okay.

yoon's are never anything short of okay.
The air feels thicker today, like it’s pressing down on you from all sides. Your heart beats erratically in your chest, but you force yourself to keep walking, head down, eyes focused on nothing. The school day has blurred into a haze of half-heard conversations, the buzz of normalcy that feels so foreign to you now. But as you turn the corner to the hallway, you freeze.
Jeongin is standing there, leaning against the lockers, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his jacket. His eyes meet yours immediately, and for a second, the world stops. His gaze is softer than you remember, but there’s an edge to it—like he’s been waiting, watching, wondering if you’d ever let him in.
Your stomach drops, and before you can stop it, the familiar ache twists painfully in your chest. His presence—just him, standing there, makes everything feel too real. Too raw.
You take a half-step back, instinctively trying to distance yourself, but it’s already too late. He’s seen you. He’s found you.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” Jeongin’s voice is quiet but firm, the usual warmth in it replaced with something colder. Something more desperate, like he’s reaching for something that’s slipping through his fingers.
You can’t breathe. You can’t move. All you can do is stare at him, your body fighting against every impulse telling you to run.
“I didn’t mean to,” you say, your voice betraying you with the crack of emotion. You quickly clear your throat, trying to put the mask back on, but it feels heavier now. “I just… I couldn’t.”
“Couldn’t?” He takes a step forward, his eyes searching your face, as though trying to decipher the thoughts you’ve locked away behind your walls. “You think I’m just going to let you shut me out like this? After everything?”
You bite your lip, a sharp pain shooting through your chest as his words hit too close to the heart. He’s right. You have been shutting him out, pretending that if you just kept your distance, it would somehow make everything easier. But it never does.
You shake your head, feeling the pressure build in your throat. “It’s not that simple, Jeongin. You don’t understand.”
“Then make me understand,” he says, voice barely above a whisper now. “You’re not the only one hurting. I’ve been trying to reach you. I’ve been worried, Y/N.”
You swallow hard, eyes flicking down to the ground as the weight of his words crushes your chest. This is the part where everything is supposed to feel easier, where you let him in, where you let him see the broken pieces of you that you’ve been hiding so carefully. But you can’t. Not yet.
Because if you let him in, you know what happens next. It means you have to acknowledge all the things you’ve been running from—your family, your father’s expectations, the lies that have kept you safe but suffocated you.
And you don’t know if you’re strong enough to face all of that, not with him standing there, looking at you like this—like you matter.
“I can’t," you whisper, more to yourself than to him, but Jeongin hears it. His expression falters for a brief moment, his face hardening as if he’s trying to suppress the hurt that flashes in his eyes.
“Y/N…” His voice is low, pleading now, and it cuts through the distance you’ve tried to build. “I don’t want to be the reason you push me away. But I will be here. I’ll wait for you to let me in. But I can’t keep pretending like you don’t need me.”
Your heart stutters in your chest. You want to collapse into him, to let him hold you, to feel something that isn’t suffocating. But the weight of everything, the expectations, the silence, it’s too much.
“I can’t give you what you want,” you say, your voice shaking now. The walls are crumbling, and you’re terrified of what will happen if they do. "Not right now. I’m… I’m not okay. And I don’t know how to be."
Jeongin takes another step closer, his presence warm, familiar. But you take a step back, your body acting before your mind can catch up. The space between you two feels like an entire universe.
“I don’t need you to be okay,” he says, his voice gentle now, almost a whisper. “I just need you to be real with me. Please.”
You look at him, really look at him for the first time in what feels like forever. The expression in his eyes—open, vulnerable, wanting—makes your chest ache all over again. And for a moment, you wonder if you could let him in, if you could trust him with the parts of you that you’ve never shown anyone.
But no matter how much you want to, the walls rise back up, cold and unyielding.
“I’m sorry,” you say, your voice barely audible. “I can’t."
And with that, you turn away, walking down the hallway, each step dragging you further from him, further from the possibility of something real.
But as you walk, you can still feel his eyes on you. And for the first time, you realize that you might never be able to escape them—no matter how far you run.
Because the hardest part isn’t him seeing you. It’s seeing him, and knowing that you’re too broken to let him in.
hope yall enjoyed <3

its okay, im okay (pt. 2)
pairing: yang jeongin x mafia/cold!reader
summary: you're parents are the leaders of one of the biggest mafia organizations there are. the yoons are feared, reasonably so. over the years you've lost too many friends, too many to count. one day you have to let go of jeongin, and it all comes crumbling down.
tags/warnings: mafia, minor character death, overwhelming kind of emotions, i missed a lot, please don't mind.
a/n: guys i am going to force myself to write this....i can't focus so bear with me 😔
masterlist pt. 2 ----> pt. 3
The next few days are a blur of silence. Each one feels like a faint echo of the last, like you're drowning in a quiet ocean, the waves of your thoughts crashing relentlessly in your head, but no one can hear them. Your hands are numb by the end of each school day, the weight of your own decisions pressing down harder than any physical pain.
The halls are filled with laughter, the constant hum of student chatter. It’s the kind of noise that fills the empty spaces in the world, but it does nothing for you. You walk through it, your mind somewhere else, heart locked away behind walls you built yourself.
Jeongin’s absence is everywhere.
It’s in the empty seat beside you. In the way you sit a little too stiff, and how you have to remind yourself not to glance over at his table during lunch.
You’ve learned the hard way that it’s easier to pretend you don’t care.
But the truth is, it hurts more than you ever expected. You thought it would get easier. That with time, his face would fade from your mind, his laugh would blur into the background noise, his eyes would become just another thing you used to look at.
But no.
Every corner you turn, you see flashes of him—his crooked smile, the way his voice made everything feel like it was worth something. And every time, you have to force your thoughts back into the silence, push down the ache in your chest before it spills over.
On Wednesday, you walk into the cafeteria to find the spot where Jeongin used to sit empty. You try not to look at it, but your gaze betrays you, lingering for just a moment too long. It’s like a piece of you is still there, even if he’s not.
You don’t realize you’re standing still, lost in thought, until a voice pulls you back to reality.
“Y/N.”
Your heart stutters, and your eyes snap up to meet the cold, piercing gaze of Chris.
You freeze, your body instinctively locking up in a stance you know too well—defensive, unreadable. His jaw tightens when he sees your expression, like he's searching for something in your eyes.
“Didn’t think you’d be here,” he says, his tone clipped but not entirely unfriendly.
You don’t know how to respond. What is there to say? That you’re just here, trying to breathe, trying to act like it’s not killing you inside? That your world is empty without Jeongin but you can’t let him get dragged into the mess your life has become? You can’t say any of that.
Instead, you just give a tight nod and turn to walk away, but Chris steps in front of you, blocking your path. You take a half-step back, instinctively trying to keep space between you two.
He stares at you for a long moment, his eyes softer now, but still sharp. “He’s been asking about you, you know. Still doesn’t get why you just… disappeared.”
Your chest tightens, your breath catching for a split second. “I’m not the one who needs to understand,” you say, a little too coldly, but you don’t care. “You should’ve told him to leave me alone.”
Chris’s gaze hardens again, but it’s not the same animosity he showed you earlier. It’s something different, almost pity. “You know that’s not the problem, right?”
You don’t respond. You can’t.
Chris sighs, looking at the empty seat where Jeongin used to sit, his expression unreadable. “He’s not the only one hurt here, Y/N. You’re just as much a part of this as he is.”
The words hang in the air, a weight that threatens to collapse everything you’ve been holding up.
“I’m fine,” you lie, voice barely above a whisper. “I’m fine.”
Chris doesn’t say anything else, just watches you for a moment before stepping aside, letting you pass.
You walk to your usual spot, trying to ignore the tightness in your chest. You sit, staring down at your untouched lunch, the clatter of trays and the chatter of your classmates echoing in your ears, but none of it feels real anymore.
The day drags on, and when the final bell rings, you head straight for the exit. You can’t face the others. Can’t pretend like any of this is okay.
It’s getting harder to keep up the mask.
When you get home, you expect the usual silence. Your mother’s sharp gaze is nowhere to be seen, and the house is too quiet, the walls pressing in around you. You go to your room, close the door, and collapse onto your bed, burying your face in your pillow as if you can drown out the thoughts.
But they come anyway. They always do.
You can hear your father's voice in your head—his commanding tone, always cold, always firm. "The Yoon family doesn't show weakness." You can still feel the chill of his presence, like ice running through your veins, his hands stained with the things you've never been allowed to understand. Mafia business, the constant danger, the weight of it all pressing down on your family, on you.
And then, there's your sister.
She had been the one who kept you tethered to anything that felt human. The one who didn’t care about the family name. The one who always found a way to smile, even when the world was falling apart around her. But her illness—her slow, painful decline—had torn that smile from her face. And when she died, the world became a place you didn’t recognize. A place that kept telling you to be stronger, to be colder. To be okay.
What if you could just let go? What if, for once, you could stop being the perfect Yoon, the one who sacrifices everything for the family name, the one who hides everything behind a mask? What if you didn’t have to be so cold, so controlled?
For a brief, dangerous moment, you wonder if you could run away—run to Jeongin, to a life without the constant pressure, without the fear of losing everything.
But you know better than that. You know how these things go. You’ve seen what happens to people who cross the line, who think they can escape.
You can’t escape.
Yoon’s are never anything short of okay.
And that’s all you can ever be.
hope u enjoyed <3

fallout (pt. 5)

pairing: bang chan x female reader
summary: you work with skz in chernobyl. everything is fine....until it isn't.
tags/warnings: gruesome and horrific material, explosions, gory kind of? sorry if i missed anything.... still putting it together.
a/n: guys i am so sorry for not posting 😭 i had to get an allergy test yesterday and im apparently allergic to dust (like really badly), cockroach dropping (guess whos cleaning up the cockroaches now??), dog hair (that was already known but it sucks 😭) and cat spit...literally all the household stuff....i need to go back next week for food testing but my arm is so itchyy 😔 anyways
The control room was quieter than you expected. Despite the chaos just outside, the small group inside seemed focused, almost eerily so. Chan stood at the center of it all, his presence commanding but strained, like a thread pulled too tight.
“We’ve got more reports,” Felix said, handing over a file. “It’s not adding up.”
“What isn’t adding up?” you asked, stepping closer.
“The energy levels, the containment status—none of it matches what we’re seeing,” Felix explained, his brows furrowed in frustration. “If the readings are this inconsistent, we can’t even begin to figure out what went wrong.”
Chan rubbed his temples, sighing deeply. “It’s not about what went wrong anymore. It’s about how we stop it from getting worse.”
Your chest tightened. The vague details were almost worse than knowing everything. You didn’t need to understand science to know people were in danger. Minho’s worsening condition had already shown you that.
“Have you heard from the medics?” Chan asked you softly.
You shook your head. “No change.” The words felt heavy on your tongue. “He’s... hanging on, but they don’t know for how long.”
Chan clenched his fists. “We need answers.”
“I think I might have something,” Felix interrupted, pulling up a diagram on the screen. “It’s not the whole picture, but if we look at these auxiliary systems—”
Before he could finish, the ground shook slightly beneath your feet. It wasn’t violent, just enough to send a ripple of unease through the room.
“What was that?”
“Aftershock,” Chan muttered, but the uneasiness in his tone betrayed him. He looked at Felix. “Keep working on that. We’ll check on the site again.”
The area outside was a strange mix of bustling activity and eerie stillness. Workers moved quickly, shouting commands and hauling equipment, but the oppressive atmosphere made it feel like everything was happening in slow motion.
You followed Chan, weaving through the maze of people and machinery. He didn’t speak, but his focus was razor-sharp. Every so often, he’d glance back at you, his expression unreadable.
When you finally reached the perimeter, a familiar face greeted you—Hyunjin, his usual composure cracked just enough to let a sliver of worry show.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said, his gaze flickering between you and Chan.
“We need to know what’s really going on,” Chan replied firmly.
Hyunjin hesitated, then stepped aside. “Just don’t stay too long. It’s... worse than they’re saying.”
You exchanged a look with Chan before stepping forward. The sight ahead of you was overwhelming—machines working overtime, the air thick with an unnatural haze, and a lingering tension that pressed against your chest.
Chan placed a hand on your shoulder. “Let’s go.”
As you turned back, your mind raced with questions. What weren’t they telling you? How much longer could Minho hold on? And most haunting of all—what would happen if you didn’t find the answers in time?
The makeshift command tent was a mix of chaos and control. Charts and blueprints covered every available surface, radios crackled with updates, and exhausted workers came and went like ghosts. You stood near Chan, who had been staring at the same diagram for far too long.
“You’ve been quiet,” you said softly, pulling up a chair beside him.
“I’m trying to figure out where it all went wrong,” he replied without looking up. His voice was hoarse, his energy clearly depleted. “There’s no clear answer. Just… pieces of a puzzle that don’t fit.”
You leaned closer to see the papers spread before him, but your attention snagged on something else. There, near his temple, was a patch of bare skin where his hair had thinned.
“Chan,” you began hesitantly, “are you feeling okay?”
He finally looked at you, his tired eyes narrowing slightly. “Why?”
“Your hair…” You gestured gently, unsure how to phrase it.
He reached up instinctively, his fingers brushing against the spot. For a moment, his expression was unreadable, then his hand dropped to the table. “It’s fine,” he said, too quickly to be convincing. “Probably just stress.”
You wanted to push further, but the tension in his jaw made you stop.
“Chan,” Felix called from across the tent, breaking the moment. “We’ve got another situation.”
“What now?” Chan muttered, rising to his feet.
Felix held up a clipboard as the three of you gathered around. “We’ve confirmed higher levels of exposure near the cooling systems. If we don’t get them stabilized soon, the fallout could spread even further.”
Chan nodded, his focus snapping back into place. “We’ll handle it. Let’s move.”
The cooling systems were a tangled mess of pipes, steam, and machinery, all of it humming with an unsettling energy. Chan immediately started issuing instructions, his voice steady despite the strain in his posture.
You followed his lead, helping to move equipment and relay messages, but your mind kept drifting back to the thinning patch on his head. It wasn’t just stress. It couldn’t be.
“Chan,” you said quietly when there was a lull in the activity. “You need to see a doctor.”
He shot you a look over his shoulder. “Not now, Y/N. There’s too much at stake.”
“Exactly,” you argued. “If something happens to you, who’s going to keep this all together?”
He didn’t answer, instead turning back to the machinery. But his silence said more than words ever could.
Back at the tent, you found Hyunjin pacing, his arms crossed tightly over his chest.
“They’re lying to us,” he said as soon as you walked in.
“What do you mean?” Felix asked, stepping in behind you.
Hyunjin gestured toward a stack of reports. “These numbers don’t make sense. They’re downplaying the exposure levels. If we don’t start taking this seriously—” He stopped, his gaze flickering to Chan. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Chan replied, brushing past him.
Hyunjin didn’t look convinced, and neither were you.
As the night stretched on, the weight of everything began to feel insurmountable. And yet, the real battle wasn’t just against the disaster—it was against time, secrecy, and the toll it was already taking on all of you.
