in final stretches of my first layer cake attempt for my sister’s birthday

my modern!mizu take is that she would be a baker. she'd still be around sharp things and have plenty of dough to work with to get her hands moving. she'd make very intricate designs on sourdough and use multiple razors to achieve each design to make sure every cut is clean.

(forgive my basic ass writing this is purely for my self indulgent hyper specific job au ideas that cannot be contained. also compulsory english is my second language note 👍 any improvement/criticism on my terrible writing is greatly appreciated 💪)

she'd have a small at home bakery and ringo would be the one doing deliveries!! taigen lives next door and would complain that "all the heat is being drained from my house to power your stupid ovens" but would have his windows wide open every morning to smell the fresh bread. mizu knows taigen doesn't like her much, so whenever there's an extra loaf of bread that doesn't sell, she'd leave out the loaf hanging on his doorknob and knock twice before scurrying back to her door. taigen secretly likes mizu's sourdough bread and often waits for the familiar sound of firm knocks on his door.

akemi is her number 1 client bc her family owns a restaurant that serves dinner rolls with meals. mizu doesn't even specialise in dinner rolls. she makes them just for akemi.

akemi's family come from a long line of restaurant owners that built their way up to a humble semi-casual fine dining establishment. akemi doesn't really like working at the restaurant. the hours are too long, the customers are too snobby, the uniform is too tight, and so on. but she stays bc she knows how important it is to her dad to be in the family business. her compromise? never directly serve customers. ever. so that's how she ended up manning the hostess stand and doing the occasional salt and pepper refills.

one day, mizu decides to personally deliver the rolls instead of ringo. she hasn't actually been to the restaurant after many months of working with akemi's family, so she was curious as to why this restaurant doesn't house make their own. mizu sees akemi working at the hostess stand, not sure if coming in from the front door was the right idea. she should've asked ringo where the back entrance was but forgot bc she was running a little late. akemi was lowkey pissed the delivery was late, but quickly softened her expression once she realises it wasn't ringo.

akemi shows mizu where the back entrance is for the next time she decides to deliver the bread. mizu takes in the decor of the restaurant, surprised to see how sophisticated it is considering dinner rolls aren't exactly the fanciest type of bread. she was expecting more of a family diner style kind of gig, not a live jazz band in the corner kind of establishment.

mizu comments on the fanciness of the place and asks akemi if there needs to be any improvement on the shape or flavour of the rolls to better reflect the quality of the restaurant. akemi chuckles at mizu and waves her off, telling her that her dinner rolls are the reason customers come back, so there's nothing she has to change or improve— they're already perfect.

mizu, somewhat relieved, still feels like something is missing and asks akemi to schedule a meeting with her dad about possibly offering more flavour combinations of dinner rolls. akemi just rolls her eyes and smiles at mizu. she quickly scribbles on her notepad and hands a note over to mizu to come by Friday night before closing since that's when her dad will be working. mizu gives akemi a firm thank you and heads back to her home, ready to start another batch of sourdough. 🥖

they're like. military + cops {just, like, government people} that try to 'keep peace' by going after a thing that may-or-may-not exist to the general population, so pretty worthless {i don't like the gf i think they're pretty stupid}

wanted to help take care of vylad, and didn't know about garte for the first 3 months of pregnancy

garte lets them know that he and zianna were on a break apart from each other, seeing if they still wanted to be together {garroth was about 5 at this point, zane was after vylad}

loves playing 'kind of uncle kind of dad' to garroth and zane, even when zane goes through his edgy emo teen phase

offers all of the kids a room at his house when they want a break from zianna/garte

was pretty involved in vylads growing up until they were about 10 when zianna was announced as pregnant again {came over a lot more to babysit during that time}

can bake, cook, play most string instruments, and paint

has younger twin siblings, acey {transneutral they/them} and kendra {lesbian she/her}

the three spend holidays together since their parents passed away when the kids were in their 20s {and since acey has a dark sense of humor they said the parents 'did their job and dipped' kendra smacked them upside the head for this}

has a pet hamster names cuddly-wuddly and two beta fish called beety and allison

works as a substitute teacher for whatever school needs them, likes working at the colleges, elementary, and middle schools {the highschool kids aren't a big fan of them for some reason}

didn't know he was dating like the queen of o'khasis. for almost a year {she went by xandria o'dile and faked freckles}

when they found out about xandria's pregnancy they were ecstatic to raise a child of their own, promising the unborn child that they would love and nurture them

the difference between martin and vylad are height and glasses

garrison intercepted letters between 'xandria' and martin on a spring day from a guard, before the ro'mae's had to go around o'khasis and show that they were friendly people. he was outraged and cut contact between them and later exiled martin

when garrison would be sent outside of the castle every other day, they would try and find martin to spend time with someone who would care for them no matter what {vylad liked having a warm bed and bread made with love to return to}

after a certain point, when zianna got really morose, garrison decided to send martin out of o'khasis {zianna couldn't tell vylad, even though her begging and crying was loud enough for garroth to hear as he tried to sleep}

thankfully, vylad didn't have to see the guards forceably remove martin after packing most of their things and thrown out on the cobblestone path that lead to o'khasis

he regained normalcy in scaleswing, setting up a bakery and sending letters to vylad in the best way possible; sending them through an old friend who would give them to vylad as they wakled around the streets

vylad would try their best to hide them from garrison, but he always found out. it's impossible to keep something from a person in power

vylad wanted to move to scaleswing when they turned 18, telling garroth {14} and prepping zane {6} when they were 11

vylad still made it out of o'khasis, but had to do so around 15 instead {zane was upset and garroth was 'dead' by this point}

martin greeted his child with a warm hug after being in the nether for 3 years, and since the shadow knight stuff was going on, vylad had a light hold on their humanity {most apathy had taken over, but some emotions could still be felt with many layers between actively feeling and acknowledging it}

vylad explained everything one day as they were laying on a hillside. martin was distraught and upset, holding vylad as tears escaped their eyes while their expression hadn't changed

martin decided to join the 'anti-o'khasis' group in scaleswing and sent letters in codes, having the neatest penmanship in the group

garrison found out. as he always does. this is what set the final nail in the coffin for vylad was, losing the last person who could participate in their life

Voltron had just landed in a clearing near the owl house to get more supplies when Lance and Hunk heared a voice they recognized. Hunk turned to look at Lance who had teary eyes, started to run towards her voice leaving other members of Voltron confused and started to run after Lance, everyone but Hunk yelled "Lance wait!"

Luz was teaching hunter Glyphs when she heard people yelling everyone hanging out at the owl house turned toward the sound When suddenly someone she recognized the person that was the reason for being a witch to find them. Twin bright blue eyes froze when met it was like time had stopped Eda confused with a quirked eyebrows her hand on her hip and a finger pointed towards Lance and the member of voltron "So uh you recognize those guys Luz they look human ears are round and everything"

After Eda broke the silence both Lance and Luz ran towards each other crying

"Hermano mayor!" "Hermanita" Lance picked up Luz in a hug twirling her around after a few moments he set her down "Hermanita What are you doing on this planet? Luz wiping her tears away glared at Lance weakly punching his chest "Learning Magic to find you ya big Jerk! Where were you! You know how devastated I was!"

"I know I know.. and I'm sorry Estrella fugaz" he paused for a moment before his eyes harden

"wait how did you get here?" Lance questions

Luz laughs nervously "wellll...I may or may not have gone through a magic door to get my book and..umm ... I decided to learn magic to help me find you.. I also may or may not have destroyed my only way home to save Eda...." King looks around and speaks up "So your Luz Brother?" Luz looking over and blushed embarrassed realizing it wasn't just her brother and Eda infront of the owl house looking at the many confused and curious faces "yeah king his my older brother and big guy in yellow is Hunk and I believe the guy in red is Keith?" Luz pauses thinks for moment. Wanting to take a little sibling revenge on Lance for making her worry and leaving without her that night takes the moment to embarrass her big bro "yeah I'm pretty sure that's Keith Lance wouldn't shut up about how pretty his eyes were or about his stupid mullet!" Both Keith and Lance's face turn to a brilliant shade of red, redder then Eda dress or Keith's lion. "What the hongos taki was that for! LUZ!" Lance screamed embarrassed Luz smiling a bright devilish smile "well that was for worrying me so much" Pidge looked over at Keith who was a frozen in place blushing red still shared look with Hunk a sole promise to tell Luz about the 'Bonding moment' that Lance swears up and down didn't happen and make her a member of the Klance shippers club they already had alot of memebers through out the galaxy not to mention everyone in Voltron Shipped it.

Meanwhile Eda shared a look at the owl house gang that says they just gained memebers of Lunter shippers club.

Everyone at a campfire and trading stories about there the siblings childhood or what happen while they were gone and finished teasing each other Lance gained a serious look "Luz I have something to tell you.. you might get upser but you deserve to know" the owlhouse memebers gained a look of concern and Luz a look or worry with hunter rubbing encouraging circles on her back "soo what is it?" Lance nervous looks down breaths in looks up and rips the metaphorical bandaid off "were not human we were born Altean we're Princess Alluras little siblings our escape pods were lost in space for some time before it crash landed near mom an dad's old house due to natural instinct were shifted to a more human form" Lance who had shifted to his Altean form now sported Snow white Hair and Blue Altean Marks and eyes were a shade brighter and ears shifted to look like a witches ears but somewhat longer watching and freckles to take on a little glimmer to them. Lance Shifting caused her Natural ability to shift to trigger as well by the end of Lance sentence now looked similar to her brother hers ears now look exactly like her brothers Eyes gained the same shade as her brother's just turned to freckles glimmered a bit brighter then her brothers and Altean Marks were Pink not blue and Hair turned the same snow white as her brothers but hers grew down a little and Hair turned a more fluffy

All things considered was taking it quite well although not realizing she shifted and everyone looking at her amazed at just how much she looked like her brother Hunter who was still next to her was blushing bright red and couldn't help but think she look so much more beautiful in her Natural form not that he didn't think she wasn't beautiful before she just seem to look more comfortable and shine.

Luz who was looking down looked back up " I knew we were adopted but.. I didn't think we were... alien" Lance who was smiling fondly at his sisters Shifting into her Natural form without her noticing he noticed she already looked more comfortable his Mama would always comment how they never completely relaxed she would always try to get them to relax too spa days, movie nights the works it wasn't just they're Mama either it was the whole family that would try smiling at the thought if Mama and His Siblings were to see how they look now the twins Hugo and Hannah would probably grab onto there ears there older sister Cana would ruffle there hair jealous and amazed at how fluffy and soft it is his second oldest sister Marie would absolutely be inlove with how shiny there freckles are marveled at how they look like constellation in the sky like the astrologist she is there older brother Coco or Cole Much like Cana ruffle our hair and demand that we grow it out like his was Bonnie wouldn't care at all just demand they teach her stuff about space and the possible sea creatures they saw she was always giddy to learn new things from her older brothers and sisters Connie the youngest of all his siblings was just a baby probably out of the baby babble stage Hinata should be in his first year of High school he would just cling to us demand that we play a few rounds of volleyball with him on the beach I wonder if he made his high-school tean? I also wonder if the other set of twins in the family Derek and Danna got Captin and Co captain in there schools swim team or if there cousin they were closest too Marinette finally got her name in the fashion industry "your thinking about them aren't you?" Luz spoke with sense of knowing and understanding "yeah I was thinking on how they would react to our charming~ good looks!" Everyone smiles at that sentence "we should get to bed soon though I know how cranky you get Luz" Luz deadpan and looks at him "your the same exact way how many times did Coco get bruised by a pillow from you throwing it?" Lance's eye twitched "well I'm not the one that gave Marie the black eye with the soft dog toy" Hunter speakes up "How do you do that!?" Lance and Luz both look over at Hunter and talks in unison "each don't really know we always been a bit stronger then normal maybe it was from helping Auntie Sabine and Uncle Tom around the Bakery?"

With that the Siblings that could pass for twins went back to arguing ... few days later Both Hunter and Keith got Shovel talks by their crushes younger/older sibling

Luz had met Allura and loved just as much as she does the rest of her family while also demanding to know Altean Anatomy she doesn't want some kind of nasty surprise

Muffet

Muffet has faced a lot of challenges with little to no support - many of which came from her being a spider. She doesn't trust easily and keeps her heart very carefully guarded. She also struggles with asking others for helping, constantly expecting rejection.

Muffet always acts very formal and distant. It will take a while before Muffet considers someone a friend, not a customer. By the way, if Muffet ever invites you to meet Cupcake, that's a major sign of trust and shows that she's starting to consider you a friend. (Cupcake is surprisingly docile when they aren't trying to kill you lol-) You'll find that she's very protective and will absolutely send Cupcake after anyone who hurts you.

She owns and runs a bakery! It has lots of spider themed food, like cider, donuts, cakes, and cupcakes.

Alphys

She's nerdy, smart, passionate about her work and a huge fan of anime. She's also socially awkward and tends to stutter when she's nervous. She hid a lot in the past to try and protect others, but realized that it wasn't right. She's a lot more honest and open now.

She has a soft spot for dogs, mainly because of Endogeny. Alphys currently lives by the beach with Undyne and a dog named Buddy.

At Ebott Public School, she's one of the science teachers. Alphys is good at teaching, but lets trouble slide too easily.

Undyne

Undyne is very, very intense. She's... kind of like Papyrus but angrier? Anyway, Undyne is also insanely strong and often does things just to show she can (like bench pressing several children. Or a piano. Or a car-)

There are very rare moments when Undyne calms down and you'll see her much softer side. She genuinely cares about her friends and family and will do anything to protect them. But she tends to jump to conclusions and act first, think later.

Undyne is coaches both the wrestling and swim teams! (At Ebott's school of course) She's super popular with students too.

Temmie

Temmie is always full of energy! She's also very social and extroverted. It's... kind of hard to understand Temmie, and near impossible when she's excited. Oh, well.

Temmie is a little sensitive and easy to offend. But she's also really good at getting revenge. (You may hurt Tem, but Tem will return with ten times the pain /hj)

She currently attends Ebbot University and is majoring in economics! Tem works part time at Tem Flakes Industry. (Info on what that is)

Monster Kid

Monster Kid is always cheerful and friendly. They're a bit of an optimist too. But when it comes to dangerous situations, they freeze up. MK isn't good at confrontations or under pressure either.

Everyone still calls them "kid," despite the fact that they're a teen now. They don't mind the nickname (but suspect the nickname is because of their height.)

They're still in school (Ebott Public School) so no job.

Mettaton

On stage, he's charismatic, dramatic, and extremely talented. He isn't so self centered anymore either and cares more about what he's doing than what it will give/the fame. Honestly, being on the Surface pushed Mettaton to explore different subjects and, well, not just make movies about himself.

Off stage, his whole demeanor changes. Mettaton really only acts charming around his fans, but he's still super sweet with his loved ones (and loves messing with them). At the end of the day, Mettaton just wants to relax. Being an actor demands a lot!

As mentioned above, Mettaton is an actor! He's really, really good, and many people are surprised to learn he's a robot.

Napstablook

Napstablook is very socially awkward and insecure. They worry a lot about saying the wrong thing, offending others, and just try to keep everyone happy. (Please just give them a hug. Or a ghost sandwich.)

Napstablook is very creative and loves writing music - mostly instrumentals, but occasionally songs with lyrics. They also like snails lol. Ever since they've reached the Surface, Napstablook has improved a ton (and started a garden for snails).

They write music for Mettaton's movies! They also do remixes and original songs.
