Check out this cool #architecture perspective #illustration by Rob Petrie (@robpetriedesignarts) of an awesomely ornate veranda fashioned in wood and stone, and drawn with #penandink... and a splash of coffee. For me the architectural design is reminiscent of the forest homes of J.R.R. Tolkien's elves in Rivendell, or (based in reality) a Craftsman-style woodland cottage based out in the US Pacific Northwest. I imagine the smell of morning dew in the air, the sound of a babbling brook nearby, and the feel of a cool breeze. The coffee adds a nice aged patina to the drawing---almost like a sepia overlay. I particularly enjoy the lightly drawn guidelines that Rob included about the handsomely rendered building. They make this piece more of fashionable art piece, like something you'd like to see hung on your wall, or in a trendy coffee table art book... which makes sense considering this is going to be part of a book out this fall for @locatiarchitects.
