Pina Contemporânea - 26 de maio de 23

Já fui algumas vezes à Pinacoteca do Estado de SP, mas não tinha visitado o mais recente prédio, a Pina Contemporânea, que tem acesso mais rápido pela estação Tiradentes.

Dei uma fuga da rotina e encontrei um prédio lindo, que, sendo sincera, contrasta tanto com o lado de fora, com as pessoas em situação de rua, com a poluição e tantas coisas que esta Sampa tem, o que inclui amor.

As exposições que estão rolando são da sul-coreana Haegue Yang, uma conversa com a história da arte brasileira por meio de esculturas, instalações, obras em papel, fotografia e colagens.

Já no subsolo, tem Chão da praça, uma reunião de 60 obras de artistas, com esculturas de grandes dimensões, vídeos, bordados e muito mais.

Destaco as obras (na sequência) de Lygia Pape (RJ), que vi em Inhotim (Tteia, logo abaixo),  Rosana Paulino (esses bordados lindos!),  Emanoel Araújo (as estruturas em madeira) e o vídeo de Tiago Sant’Ana, que, antes li em outro trabalho, de Ayrson Heráclito. Aliás, comprei o catálogo de Heráclito (não consegui conferir a individual dele ano passado), mas na outra Pina (a Contemporânea não aceita dinheiro).

Tomara que mantenham a gratuidade por mais tempo e (até é um devaneio meu) liberassem às pessoas em situação de rua para ir ao banheiro, tomar uma água, porque ali é um oásis em meio ao caos de Sampa.

VITRA: day 1 of my architecture mini-break was spent over the border in Germany at the @vitradesignmuseum in Weil-am-Rhein. It is a campus of buildings by internationally famous architects, which I had wanted to visit for years since seeing several of the pavilions in books. In order of appearance here: Piet Oudolf’s 2020 garden softening the hard-edges of Hertzog & de Meuron’s multifaceted 2003 VitraHaus (with a geodesic dome by Buckminster Fuller alongside); Frank Gehry’s 1989 Vitra Design Museum; Nicholas Grimshaw’s 1983 Factory Building; Álvaro Siza’s 2014 Promenade; Thomas Schütte’s 2018 Blockhaus; Zaha Hadid’s 1993 Fire Station (and interior and sideview); and finally Tadao Ando’s 1993 Conference Pavilion. It was unbelievably hot, so I wondered around with an umbrella for shade: difficult light to photograph in. Vector Architects converts an old sugar mill into a hotel retreat of magnificent craftsmanship 🌿 Designed by @vectorarchitects Images: Su Shengliang / Chen Hao / Vector Architects / Alila Yangshuo Located in Yangshuo region of China, the site for Alila Yangshuo is surrounded by verdant landscape of limestone hills and manoeuvring Li River, as it makes its way through its flood plains and towering giants. Once used as a sugar mill factory, the site had fallen in despair before being bought by the Alila group to develop a property, offering the guest a chance to immerse themselves in the landscape and amazing natural sights this region has to offer. The project site located on a 1960s old factory complex is sandwiched between a busy road on one side and expansive landscape on the other. To work on the project, Vector Architects was brought on board to build a hotel which is holistically designed and environmentally friendly. Initial discussion led to the decision of restoring the sugar mills and refurbishing them as part of the project.
