The intensive production of broilers and rising rates of consumption (figure 1) increases the standing biomass of domesticated chickens year on year. Over 65.8 billion meat-chicken carcasses were consumed globally in 2016 [6] and this is set to continue rising. This may be an underestimate, given the standing population of 22.7 billion and lifespan of five to seven weeks. The FAO states that this number is aggregated from statistics that may be official, semi-official, estimates, or calculated data. The lifespan of broiler chickens is short (five to seven weeks) compared to egg-laying hens (1 year), both of which are slaughtered at a young age for economic reasons. The contrast between the lifespan of the ancestral red jungle fowl (3 years [46] to 11 years (Tommaso Pizzari 2018, personal communication) in captivity) and that of broilers means that the potential rate of carcass accumulation of chickens is unprecedented in the natural world. Irrespective of the number of broiler chickens killed per annum, the standing population of 22.7 billion chickens is striking and mirrors other population data comparing domesticated with wild animal populations; for example, the biomass of domesticated cattle is 250 times higher than that of elephants [8]. The standing biomass of domesticated poultry, mostly chickens, has been calculated as 5 Mt C, about three times higher than the total biomass of all wild bird species combined [7]. The rise in the number of domesticated chickens over recent decades mirrors the decline in the population numbers of wild bird species, particularly those that are the most common [5,10]. This mono-specific vast bird biomass is unprecedented in Earth's recent history and perhaps also in Earth's geological history. While fossil bird populations are difficult to estimate, it is thought that the most common wild bird in human history, the passenger pigeon, had a population of 3–5 billion in the 1800s [47].

The global range of modern broilers, in comparison with the geographically restricted range of their jungle fowl ancestors, is in part a factor of their climate-controlled (temperature, humidity and light) housing conditions [48]. The vertical integration farming system of industrial production is reliant on the technosphere (the global emergent system that includes humans, technological artefacts, and associated social and technological networks) [49]. Broiler farming is undertaken within a complex mechanized system that operates with the integration of computer software, electricity, transportation vehicles, refrigeration, feed processing factories and more [17]. This is epitomized in the life cycle of intensively farmed broilers: eggs are laid in broiler breeder facilities and transported to hatcheries, where eggs are incubated artificially for 21 days [50]. After hatching, the 1-day-old chicks are transported to high-capacity finishing units housing up to 50 000 individuals in climate-controlled sheds [51]. For the first week of life, chicks are kept at temperatures of 32°C to 35°C and relative humidity of 60% to 70% [48]. At five to seven weeks old, broiler chickens are transported to the slaughterhouse, where most waste products (feathers, manure, blood etc.) are recycled via anaerobic digestion, incineration and rendering into edible by-products [52], all technology-dependent.

Breeding by natural selection has been modified by human-directed selection. While the size of the domesticated chicken in historical times was little different to the red jungle fowl (figure 3), domestic chicken bone morphology shows that selective breeding practices took place as early as the sixteenth century [53,54]. Chickens from the late twentieth century are markedly different in terms of size (figures 3 and 4), growth rate (figure 5) and body shape. The change in body mass and body shape has been visually documented by photographs of broiler breeds throughout ontogeny from 1957, 1978 and 2005 [14]. Broilers from a 1957 breed are between one-fourth and one-fifth of the body weight of broilers from a twenty-first century breed [13,14]. The modern broiler is a distinctive new morphotype with a relatively wide body shape, a low centre of gravity [13] and multiple osteo-pathologies. If left to live to maturity, broilers are unlikely to survive. In one study, increasing their slaughter age from five weeks to nine weeks resulted in a sevenfold increase in mortality rate [55]: the rapid growth of leg and breast muscle tissue leads to a relative decrease in the size of other organs such as the heart and lungs, which restricts their function and thus longevity [56]. Changes in the centre of gravity of the body, reduced pelvic limb muscle mass and increased pectoral muscle mass cause poor locomotion and frequent lameness [15]. Unlike most other neobiota, this new broiler morphotype is shaped by, and unable to live without, intensive human intervention.

Naturally omnivorous, the diet of the broiler chicken has become more grain-based with approximately 60% of broiler feed composed of cereals such as maize, wheat and barley [18]. Diets vary globally, with maize most commonly used in the USA because it has a higher nutrient value than other cereals [57]. Additions to the dietary cereals can include fishmeal [18] and re-processed hatchery and broiler waste (egg shells, chicks and chickens) [13]. The alteration to chicken diets is designed to reduce the amount of feed used while increasing meat yields [13]; however, it also homogenizes nutritional intake, eliminating a source of natural variation within the stock (figure 6). The current plateau in broiler growth rates may not be maintained, with current research focusing on new technologies to increase the protein intake of broiler diets by using insect meal instead of plant proteins [58].

The genetic make-up of the modern broiler morphospecies is equally striking. The domestic chicken's genetic make-up differs from the ancestral red jungle fowl, in terms of deletions and mutations, some of which relate to the modification of the animal for maximum growth [59]. For example, the thyroid stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) allele has a pivotal role in metabolic regulation and photoperiod control of reproduction, allowing domestic breeds to reproduce year-round [59]. This genetic marker could be used to recognize Gallus gallus domesticus in the future fossil record, in the way that the β-carotene dioxygenase 2 gene associated with yellow skin colour resulting from a diet of maize may be identified in archaeological chicken bones from approximately 500 years ago [60]. Three companies worldwide supply 90% of broiler chicks and selective breeding has resulted in 50% or more of genetic diversity loss in commercial lines compared with ancestral breeds [16].

Global human trends towards increased animal protein consumption, along with an increased human population, is impacting on land use and wild species populations [5]. Chickens have the greatest feed efficiency of any farmed animal species [61], but their numerical dominance is reflected in feed consumption. In the USA the combined feed consumption by broiler and egg-laying chickens has been calculated as 58 Mt (×109 kg) of dry concentrates (grains and by-products) per year; the greatest feed volume of any farmed animal group [62]. Overall, the land area required to produce feed for chickens is lower than for pigs and cattle, who consume processed roughage and pasture, which increases the overall land-use burden [62,63]. Nevertheless, the land area and reactive nitrogen emitted (from fertilizers) from the production of chicken feed is significantly higher (more than double) that used to grow plant crop staples (rice, wheat and potatoes) [62]. The total global energy consumption (electricity, natural gas) used in the broiler production system in Europe is estimated to be higher than that for the production of beef or pork [64], although a global data analysis is yet to be undertaken.

What is the potential for broilers to become fossilized? Bird carcasses in the wild are scavenger- and decay-prone and so do not commonly fossilize. Chicken bones, by contrast, are often sold intact within products for human consumption, such as chicken wings, drumsticks and whole birds, and post-consumption the discarded bones form a common component of ordinary landfill sites as part of domestic garbage [65]. The low skeletal density of chicken bones [30] would normally mitigate against long-term preservation potential. However, organic materials are often well preserved within landfill deposits, where anaerobic conditions mean that bones ‘do not so much degrade as mummify’ [66]. The osteo-pathology of modern broiler bones could be used as an additional stratigraphic characteristic of late-twentieth century birds which have been bred for weight gain and/or a fast growth-rate. Further research is needed to document the extent of the occurrence and type of osteo-pathologies in broilers in the twentieth century in order to better constrain their incidence through this time interval.

Carcasses can be disposed of in on-farm burial pits from routine losses during production [67], or as mass-burials at landfills resulting from the depopulation of flocks affected by pathogenic outbreaks of avian influenza, as when 10 million poultry were euthanized in South Korea in 2008 [68]. The broiler chicken is therefore likely to leave a widespread and distinctive biostratigraphic signal in the sedimentary record, as a key fossil index taxon of the Anthropocene. Its potential in this respect is similar to that of other anthropogenic materials which have appeared, or exponentially accumulated in volume. These include during the Great Acceleration [69] from the mid-twentieth century, materials such as plastic, concrete and spheroidal carbonaceous particles [1]. Broilers are globally distributed and their carcasses have accumulated in settings which lead to good fossil preservation potential. Chicken bones, though not as homogeneously distributed as some geochemical anthropogenic markers such as radionuclides [1], will be abundant at landfill sites and other widely distributed accumulations. Given this global distribution, together with its huge population size and distinctive biology, genetics and bone geochemistry, the broiler chicken may be viewed as a key species indicator of the proposed Anthropocene Epoch.

The advent of the fast-growing broiler morphotype in the 1950s and its uptake across industrial farms worldwide, can be viewed as a near-synchronous global signal of change to the biosphere, currently maintained by humans and the technosphere. Modern broiler chickens are morphologically, genetically and isotopically distinct from domestic chickens prior to the mid-twentieth century. The global range of modern broilers and biomass dominance over all other bird species is a product of human intervention. As such, broiler chickens vividly symbolize the transformation of the biosphere to fit evolving human consumption patterns, and show clear potential to be a biostratigraphic marker species of the Anthropocene.

Georgia Guidestones

Georgia Guidestones – Elberton Georgia

Traveling Life’s Highways can take you to some interesting places. Several years before leaving Atlanta for Alaska in 1995, I discovered a unique and interesting scene in a field near Elberton, Georgia. Recently I returned for another look along the rolling hills of farmland which are the normal views one usually sees while driving in the area along Georgia Highway 77 (Hartwell Highway). On one of the windswept hilltops just outside Elberton stands an unexpected granite monument. The monument is alternately referred to as The Georgia Guidestones, or the American Stonehenge.

I still cannot believe in the time I lived in Alaska over the last twenty years the Guidestones are still relatively unknown to people I talk to. It is not the typical tourist location but probably is in the same category as the world’s largest ball of twine (Cawker City KS, Hwy 24 west of Topeka Kansas) or largest frying pan (Rose Hill, North Carolina). I have seen the ball of twine but not the frying pan, which is still on my bucket list.

Elberton isn't called the 'Granite Capital of the World' for nothing. It sits atop a granite deposit 35 miles long, six miles wide and three miles deep. Alaska had many earthquakes while I lived there and if there was ever going to be an earthquake or natural disaster in Georgia, I'd want to be right here atop six million tons of solid stone.

The origin of that strange monument is shrouded in mystery because no one knows the true identity of the man, or men, who commissioned its construction. All that is known for certain is that in June 1979, a well-dressed, articulate stranger visited the office of the Elberton Granite Finishing Company and announced that he wanted to build an edifice to transmit a message to mankind. He identified himself as R. C. Christian, but it soon became apparent that was not his real name. He said that he represented a group of men who wanted to offer direction to humanity, but to date, almost four decades later, no one knows who R. C. Christian really was, or the names of those he represented.

Several things are apparent. The messages engraved on the Georgia Guidestones deal with four major fields: (1) Governance and the establishment of a world government, (2) Population and reproduction control, (3) The environment and man's relationship to nature, and (4) Spirituality.

Engraved in eight different languages on the four giant stones that support the common capstone are 10 Guides, or commandments. Though relatively unknown to most people, it is an important link to many conspiracy theories that dominate the world in which we live. The stranger wanted a Stonehenge built -- he had a model of it in a shoe box -- and had selected the area because it was remote and it offered good granite. Mr. Christian reportedly left $50,000 in a local bank, told the locals that they would never see him again, and vanished forever. Following Mr. Christian's detailed instructions, the company erected what are now known as The Georgia Guidestones, four granite monoliths, each nineteen feet tall.

The main cluster was completed on March 22, 1980, using granite quarried from nearby Elberton. One slab stands in the center, with four arranged around it. A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which are astronomically aligned. An additional stone tablet, which is set in the ground a short distance to the west of the structure, provides some notes on the history and purpose of the Guidestones.

On the top stone, carved on the four sides in Egyptian Hieroglyphics, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, and Babylonian Cuneiform, it says: "Let these be Guidestones to an Age of Reason." On the upright slabs, Ten Commandments are carved for the coming "Age of Reason," encouraging visitors to "unite humanity."

A message consisting of a set of ten guidelines or principles is engraved on the Georgia Guidestones in eight different languages, one language on each face of the four large upright stones. Moving clockwise around the structure from due north, these languages are: English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian.

I found the placement of the languages on the stones interesting. There was a lot of thought given to the message and the cultures represented on the stones. Several had the language of an “opposite” culture on its reverse side.

There are many theories and thoughts about the mysteries surrounding the Guidestones. Is it a new world order or the commandments for the anti-Christ? Who knows but its message in many ways is an outline for a safer world, giving others a chance, protecting our environment and controlling our population so as not to destroy our natural resources.

The “Message of the Georgia Guidestones” seems to call for at least 90% of the Earth’s population to be wiped out. The passage about maintaining humanity at a population of a half-billion or less would require a massive dying-off of humanity the likes of which we’ve never seen. This is what has led many conspiracy theorists to allege that whoever financed the Guidestones, they are in cahoots with an evil New World Order project to extensively depopulate the planet. Since the Georgia Guidestones were built in 1979, at the height of the Cold War between the USA and the Soviet Union that many thought would inevitably result in a nuclear apocalypse, writers such as Brad Meltzer suggests that the Guidestones were meant to be seen by that war’s survivors, at which point the world’s population would already be below a half-billion. As the Bilderberg group has gotten a lot of attention in past years and their meetings have been in the spotlight of many so called “Conspiracy Theories” [ who in most cases should better be called “Conspiracy Realists” or “Conspiracy Disclosers” or to remain in the language of the conspirators “Conspiracy Illuminists” (in this case it would not be sarcasm though)], the Committee of 300 has almost been overlooked in comparison.

As important as Bilderberg is and has been and some people who attended grew into substantial power afterwards (Bill Clinton became president shortly after attending etc.) and as prophetic as the matters discussed at Bilderberg were for the shaping of the future of world affairs, it might still be somewhat overrated when it is compared to the Committee of 300. Bilderberg could be seen as the more operational management arm of the Illuminati NWO… conspiracy with a short-term focus and a much more exchangeable membership crowd. The real power, the much more senior members, the owner class or the old, deeply rooted, initiator / aristocracy / billionaire class of the conspiracy seems to be at home at the Committee of 300 meetings.

Bilderberg gets the brunt of the protest and almost takes the focus completely away from the Committee of 300, where the kingpins of the Illuminati NWO… conspiracy are truly rooted, it seems. The so-called Illuminati bloodlines are there, possibly the bosses, the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers, the Warburgs…, the Black Nobility is there in numbers, especially the British nobility, but also the Dutch and the German and worldwide nobility, high degree masons and secret society grandmasters, the billionaire class / oligarchs, also the money wizards, the maintainers of the world monetary monopoly, especially central bankers, IMF, World Bankers and economists, as well as currently important people out of politics, UN, military, technology etc. (probably similar to Bilderberg much more interchangeable, single event or short term guests, not long term members) and mainstream-media in form of publishers / media moguls like Berlusconi, Murdoch etc., “spiritual” leaders like the Pope and last, but not least, the Illuminati strategists like Rockefeller, Kissinger, Bergsten, Brzezinski etc.

It’s certainly again, like always, strictly hierarchically structured, with real insight about the true happenings and future scenarios possibly again in few hands. It encompasses key figures / key positions within certain important countries, but also stretches out worldwide and has key members from all over the world.

It’s even much more difficult to obtain any information about it than it is with the Bilderberg meetings who were forced to reveal some information by an ever more intensely shining public spotlight and interest. Of course they don’t reveal anything really, but at least some of the participants who’s names had been leaked before anyway and are impossible to keep secret in todays’ world, it seems.

The following information is out of the book “Conspirators’ Hierarchy: The Story of the Committee of 300” by Dr. John Coleman. It contains some of the goals, again very sinister as one might imagine and a list of participants of a 2010 meeting I believe. In this way it’s not up-to-date, rather somewhat outdated, but still good enough to get a fairly accurate picture of the structure and goals. The list is merely in alphabetical order and does not reveal any hierarchy, functions, purpose of attendance or date of membership status etc. :

by John Coleman The Committee of 300 is a product of the British East India Company’s Council of 300. The East India Company was chartered by the British royal family in 1600. It made vast fortunes in the opium drug trade with China and became the largest company on earth in its time. Today, through many powerful alliances, the Committee of 300 rules the world and is the driving force behind the criminal agenda to create a “New World Order”, under a “Totalitarian Global Government”. There is no need to use “they” or “the enemy” except as shorthand. We know who “they”, the enemy, is. The Committee of 300 with its “aristocracy”, its ownership of the U.S. Federal Reserve banking system, insurance companies, giant corporations, foundations, communications networks, presided over by a hierarchy of conspirators-this is the enemy. The inner circle of the Committee of 300 is the Order of the Garter, headed by Queen Elizabeth Windsor II. It is interesting to note that the Windsor’s changed their name from the Germanic Saxe-Coburg-Gotha during WWI, because of anti-German sentiment. The enemy is clearly identifiable as the Committee of 300 and its front organizations, such as the Royal Institute for International Affairs (Chatham House), the Club of Rome, NATO, U.N., the Black Nobility, the Tavistock Institute, CFR and all its affiliated organizations, the think tanks and research institutions controlled by Stanford and the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations and last, but certainly not least, the military establishment. The Committee of 300 is the ultimate secret society made up of an untouchable ruling class, which includes the Queen of the United Kingdom (Elizabeth II), the Queen of the Netherlands, the Queen of Denmark and the royal families of Europe. These aristocrats decided at the death of Queen Victoria, the matriarch of the Venetian Black Guelphs that, in order to gain world-wide control, it would be necessary for its aristocratic members to “go into business” with the non-aristocratic but extremely powerful leaders of corporate business on a global scale, and so the doors to ultimate power were opened to what the Queen of England likes to refer to as “the commoners”. Through their illicit banking cartel, they own the stock of the Federal Reserve, which is a private for profit corporation that violates U.S. Constitution and is a root of the problem. The decadent American families of the unholy partnership, thoroughly corrupted and wallowing in tainted opium money, went on to become what we know today as the Eastern Liberal Establishment. Its members, under the careful guidance and direction of the British Crown, and subsequently, its foreign policy executive arm, the Royal Institute for International Affairs (RIIA), now known as Chatham House, located in England (across St. James’s Square from the Astors), ran the United States from top to bottom through their secret upper-level, parallel government, which is tightly meshed with the Committee of 300, the ultimate secret society. A One World Government-New World Order with a unified church and monetary system under their direction. It is also interesting that the Committee is presently seeking to reinstate the Pol Pot butchers in Cambodia. 8. Suppression of all scientific development except for those deemed beneficial by the Committee. Especially targeted is nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Particularly hated are the fusion experiments presently being scorned and ridiculed by the Committee and its jackals of the press. Development of the fusion torch would blow the Committee’s conception of “limited natural resources” right out of the window. A fusion torch properly used could create unlimited untapped natural resources from the most ordinary substances. Fusion torch uses are legion and would benefit mankind in a manner which is as yet not even remotely comprehended by the public. 9. Cause by means of limited wars in the advanced countries, and by means of starvation and diseases in Third World countries, the death of 3 billion people by the year 2000, people they call “useless eaters.” The Committee of 300 commissioned Cyrus Vance to write a paper on this subject of how best to bring about such genocide. The paper was produced under the title the “Global 2000 Report” and was accepted and approved for action by President Carter, for and on behalf of the U.S. Government, and accepted by Edwin Muskie, then Secretary of State. Under the terms of the Global 2000 Report, the population of the United States is to be reduced by 100 million by the year 2050. 10. To weaken the moral fibre of the nation and to demoralize workers in the labour class by creating mass unemployment. As jobs dwindle due to the post industrial zero growth policies introduced by the Club of Rome, demoralized and discouraged workers will resort to alcohol and drugs. The youth of the land will be encouraged by means of rock music and drugs to rebel against the status quo, thus undermining and eventually destroying the family unit. In this regard The Committee of 300 commissioned Tavistock Institute to prepare a blueprint as to how this could be achieved. Tavistock directed Stanford Research to undertake the work under the direction of Professor Willis Harmon.
