I dont like tumblr's way of working a lot of times

Ofcourse there are other tabs with a lot of different types of content for me to consume but my primary source of content is the accounts i follow or the tags i subscribe to

Now the problem is the account i follow are all human beings with personal intrests and just because i might share a fandom or an intrest with them or i liked a few posts by them doesnt mean i will like everything about their account or share every fandom with them?

And the tags! People dont tag correctly most of the time because guess what there is no proper way to tag. Yes you can follow all these rules about this and that but there is no particular tag that can serve me with the type of content i want.

Now yes even on instagram (for me) or any social site you use would sometimes show you content you have no connection to have any intrest in and you can just scroll past it the same way y'all would suggest me to do on tumblr.

But I dont have the time!! I have a family and friends and a boyfriend and studies to do and work to complete and exams to prepare for

Even when i used to be chronically online on tumblr with no life of my own i used to get irritated by these things and even now when i opne my socials for maximum 30 minutes a day or sometimes more if i am in a mood to talk to a stranger online

I want to unwind, the only purpose social media serves is help me unwind while feeding me with a bunch of information

And when i have no intrest or connection to that kind of information it doesnt help me unwind. I hate every post that is from a fandom i dont know or have no intrest in with all the strength i have.

And what frustrates me the most is i am forced to scroll past 50 posts of various fandoms i have no intrest in just to see 1 single post i might like on a good day

I dont have the time to go on a deep dive and find accounts who share every intrest of mine i dont have the time to curate my feed so that every other posts teaches me something new and intresting or gives me a dopamine hit.

I rarely come on tumblr, you will see me once a week if youre lucky and once a month if i have nothing else to do. And when i have to face a wall of posts i have no intrest in and no way to get past them its super frustrating.

So, i dont like tumblr 😵‍💫👍🏻

That one is a common argument from transphobes who don't want others to see them as conservative, and it is always so incredibly divorced from material realty on basically every level, starting with the claim that being trans is something forced upon people by some nebulous external force, or even just homophobia.

Like, the average homophobe is also a transphobe and this is not a surprising fact that someone considering transition is likely to be unaware of. A decade ago many homophobes didn't even really see "gay" and "trans" as separate things to begin with.

The whole idea that people are transitioning because they're just gay and afraid of homophobia but blissfully unaware that transphobia exists or that the exact same people would still hate them for being trans (or even just think of them as some kind of high-level extra stage gay) is just completely dishonest.

There are always some people who want to be loud and toxic and Twitter is REALLY a cesspool for it.

There's a lot of art yeah, and I think as communication it's fine, but hearing how the toxicity affects the creators motivation makes me SO sad. If these toxic communities drive away more people from this server like a lot of Spanish CCs I will riot.
