i was going to reblog a post @tristomisto tagged me in a bit ago about favorite animals but I dont have a favorite animal I just have a list of species I think are really cool so I was like ill share that

but then I checked how long this was and it was a lot longer than I thought

so im just making my own post

Byakhee

A drawing (one of several) of a monster from the Lovecraftian mythos.

A few months ago I started to do some drawings of them and researching the mythos.

Because I was bored.

And ended up doing a … few drawings about it.

Despite not being a big fan of lovecraft I did really get into it this time around.

Still can’t read one of his writings, they suck to read. Listen to is an other story for me.

Regardless a Byakhee is “a predator who travels the vacuum of interstellar space. One could ride a Byakhee to anywhere in the cosmos.” ~quoted/ paraphrased from the fandom wiki.

I got really into the dreamlands and the monsters. After all that’s one of the most interesting parts of his writings.

What else dose he have to offer? intriguing characters? I think not.

Let’s just call it a like-loath relationship. But whatever I got a few drawings from a few month long hyper-fixation.

This little guy was a lot of fun to draw! And I do adore how alien most of his and his associates aliens tend to be!

This is a Härkkä. It's a little creature that usually hides in the dark corners of old log cabins and farm buildings (esp. Likes to spend times in the corners of old barns where cows are kept :) ).

At night likes to help with farm stuff at the barn, like keeping the cows and bulls calm, and making sure they have enough water to drink and hay to eat. It will sometimes wake up the farmer(s) to alert them that something's gone wrong at the barn.

At christmas you should leave it a small present under the tree, as a thank-you for their hard work :).

Also some can be hired by witches as familiars ;).

Just a fun little creature we came up with my mother :D. I invented the backstory ^^. They're very cute creatures indeed. And helpful!

Tell me if I’m crazy but …

A giant Moose who’s antlers like close and get filled with rain water … I just got this weird idea that they let people they like drink from it, and it’s supposed to be healthy

I am so sorry, I did this in the photos app with my finger. (The green stuff is the water, over time leafs and sticks fall into it)
