Well hi everyone, name's Kira (@ykskira) and i'm a little artist making this silly clangen challenge.

Here some info about this blog:

This is a clangen blog just for fun and practices

I'm not very good writing in English bcs it's not my native speaking so in advance sorry about my bad grammar xp

Everything is randomly generated by the game (but sometimes I might change the names of the cats)

I wouldn't be sure how often the updates would be but you could say one moon a week

Taking a tiny break from DawnClan to set up the other two groups in their area! We're starting with CopseClan, and later, I'll work on GrassClan once I feel all settled with this group.

COPSECLAN: THE MOUNTAIN CATS.

CopseClan does not actually have a name--CopseClan is the name given to them by DawnClan as a better means of differentiating them from the other neighboring colony. This colony of cats simply exists. They need no name, and they need no deep ancestral history to exist and thrive, and GrassClan is similar.

'Copse' means a thicket of trees, and given that CopseClan lives deep in the forest of Mist-Bound Mountain, this is what brought their name to fruition.

CopseClan does not operate based off of the usual set of clan hierarchy dynamics. Instead, they focus on co-existing in what ways work best for them, allowing cats to help the colony by playing to their key strengths. For example, some cats are designated hunters, while others are camp guardians, choosing these roles for themselves as they naturally come, or seeking out experts in the colony to be trained.

There is no ranking system, no going from kit, to apprentice, to warrior. Both GrassClan and CopseClan operate under the principle that there is no more important time than the present, and to linger upon the history of their ancestors makes no sense, as is what DawnClan does.

Even without nine lives and spiritual guidance, these cats manage to thrive, much as it befuddles DawnClan.

Now, onto the cats...

BLUE. A 104 moon old tortie she-cat with a unique blend of chocolate brown and gray fur. When asked for a leader, while she is not officially in such a position, CopseClan often looks to her. She is careful, wise, and doesn't mind taking charge when necessary. However, she will never claim such a role permanently, or assert herself as above any of her colony members. They all stand as equals, as fellow cats trying to survive and thrive.

CREAM. An 89 moon old tortie she-cat, her coat is a blend of dark sandy tan, splotches of black, and a cream underbelly and mittens. Charismatic and energetic, she also helps CopseClan in times of necessary leadership, and loves to teach the younger cats the art of battle. She has been the most antagonistic with the clan cats, indignant and insulted by their inability to accept their way of living, but her temper is kept to a simmer by Blue.

SKY. A 107 moon old tom-cat. His slate-black coat is accented by lighter gray rosette dapples, and with cool cyan eyes, he struck an impressive figure to the clan cats when first met. Cool and charming, he is the closest feline to a 'medicine cat' that DawnClan could figure out. While many of CopseClan come from various backgrounds, either born wild or from kittypet lineage, Sky has always been wild, and before CopseClan, he learned how to manage his own injuries and sicknesses with natural remedies in the forest. Prior to his arrival, CopseClan did not have a concept of 'medicine' or herbal remedies, but he has been slowly turning this around.

Jovial and merry though he is, Feverface takes his responsibility as a monarch of CopseClan quite seriously! After all, even when the Clan lacks kittens to raise, there remains an inner child within every grown cat, which he intends to nurture for as long as he shall live. He predicts that his relationship with his deputy, Pronghornpath, shall last just as long— and now that the couple has officially been wed, their Clan’s numbers have doubled, and a dear friend has welcomed a new litter in the nursery, Feverface’s delight for the future cannot be quelled! Now, if only Porcupinepaw were still here to greet the future with him…

ao excited to bring larkspurdapple into my clangen story. not only is his name fucking awesome but its also really ironic. his ass did NOT grow into positivity and strong bonds . he had an interesting relationship with his apprentice dashrump too.. they were really distant and not bonded like at all but i think larkspurdapple Tried.

anyway now i get to make him a bunch of rogue friends and also design him and also design the rest of copseclan. rly hyped. gotta draw larkspur rn. hes actually got a burnt paw thats like unusable too so thats cool i love design traits

ClanGen Challenge: CopseClan

Traditional naming system must be followed, refer to Blight's Ending Naming Guide sheet here.

Background setting must be Forest (Any).

If an abandoned kitten or wounded cat is found the effort must be made to return them to camp and help them recover. Loners and kittypets should not be antagonized, but do not necessarily need to be welcomed into the clan.

If a kittypet or loner does join the clan stay with the clan for 1 season (3 moons) before being granted their warrior name. Typically, they will maintain their previous name during this time. This is applicable to transfers from different clans as well.

If a kitten is injured or becomes ill for 1+ moon the kitten should be renamed with a prefix from the "undesireable" category in the guide linked above. This is a last-ditch attempt to convince Death to pass over them, and allow them to survive the ordeal.

Prefixes absolutely may not be shared between living cats! CopseClan harbors a superstition that if two cats share a prefix if one is to be mortally wounded or become ill Death may become confused and take the well cat instead.

If another clan is encountered on a patrol they should not be antagonized unless they express hostility first or if CopseClan is currently embroiled in war with them. This includes trespassing to hunt, even in Leaf Bare when prey is scarce. It is important to maintain peace.

Make note of the council members (scout, warrior, monarch, elder) as well as who is scout and who is warrior. Scouts should patrol with scouts and warriors should patrol with warriors. If a scout encounters a predator or threat on patrol they should not proceed, if a warrior does they're obligated to.

Antagonistic traits are not favored (ex. bloodthirsty, cold, fierce, vengeful, etc) and should not be put in positions of power if at all avoidable. Neutral traits are acceptable, but positive traits (ex. altruistic, compassionate, empathetic, etc) or religious traits (ex. faithful, strong connection with StarClan) are usually favored for high ranks.

no spoons for a drabble, but a quick thing on suntuft's kits. she gave birth a week before brightstorm to two healthy toms--the brown mackerel tabby is fleetkit, and the sandy speckled kit is dashkit.

(the theme is evidently a need for speed.)

their father is an outsider to the clan who i may expand on in the future, because as we all know, i LOVE me a secret romance... that also isn't rly a secret bcuz she had a whole two kits.

suntuft is unashamed of her kits' heritage being from outside the clan, as she has outsider blood herself and was adopted into dawnclan. oatstar has made no mention of it--he neither feels that any cat should be punished for seeking companionship outside of the clan, but also is intimidated by suntuft, who is a much bigger personality than him, and very beloved by the clan.

there are some cats muttering and displeased about suntuft's choice of having kits with an outsider, but similarly to oatstar, no one is willing to make a stand. suntuft has a very strong support network in the clan, and while lonely by nature, she's aware of the deep connections she has with her clanmates, and that keeps her firm in her belief she has done nothing wrong.
