I checked out the lyrics — on dragged & you are correct, it does say — so think of me drivin’ fast, its called I loved killed my ass. I just listened to it a few more times and that does sound accurate. But as for your question I guess interpret it how you feel. I think he’s saying this love is so hard and hurtful for both of them. And that he wants her to know or remember him driving fast - probably high off adrenaline and driving carelessly (which feels amazing when you’re angry)
You were just in a fight probably. True love can be so strong it can also feel love/hate. I think there was a fight between the girl and him. He says he’s gotta go cool off and take a drive. But knows he’s gunna go drive off like a suicidal maniac (not sure if it’s allowed to say on here) He also doesn’t want her to think of him in pain, because if he goes — it will be fast and he will be behind the wheel doing what gives him relief (driving with music blasting is my anger therapy but it’s also been really dangerous) the scary part is the more risk — the better it feels
adrenaline is a real intoxicating high but your life’s gotta be on the line. Like driving with your eyes closed. not driving drunk or under the influence — but driving angry and in a state of rage it’s one of the best outlets if you’d prefer to go out of this world. If you do it that way you start to feel like you’re playing a literal game with death. I’ve played that game and it can be scary since death loves to play with you — it’s addicting and I don’t recommend. I have experience with the game he’s playing and enjoying it — or playing with the being that is death itself having fun along side me.
to summarize, he sings, It’s called ‘ I loved killed my ass’ I wanna think he’s saying this overall through the song — that it’s not her fault. He’s got emotional issues clearly and probably dealing with some mental illness. It’s a real emotional rollercoaster and probably why the games so fun for us to play. You are so easy to push over the edge but he’s trying to tell her — it’s not her fault that he crashed — only it’s her fault he ‘loved’ in a way that could get to him. Knowing that she also chose to love him so much makes it so much harder. to leave the one who needs you most. he loves her too much
