we need to talk about harry’s new actor because doing THAT in a scene opposite angela bassett on your FIRST EPISODE?? this guy is crazy i love him he has so much talent
The way that I fucking sobbed when May allowed Bobby to be in her prom photos
She knew how hard it was for him to see her like that and be reminded of his own daughter
But in her, he gained another one
A daughter who isn’t his by blood but rather by choice and by heart
A daughter who took her time to understand his pain and suffering but who loves him despite of it, who’s there for him the same way that he’s there for her
This was such a good conversation between stepfather and daughter. Canonizing that Buck is Bobby's son too. Athena and May knew it all along. Such an emotional scene to me.
as much as I love and miss May, you all might wanna be aware that the actress is currently at UCLA, busy with studying and dealing with, well... *vaguely gestures at the news* the chances of her being back on the show this season are slim to none
May Day (5x16) is genuinely one of the most beautiful episodes this show has ever done.
Firstly, the firefam being back together to save Bobby, and that group shot of all of them, finally together after an entire season was so cathartic and felt so well-earned. That scene with Carry You being played brings me to tears everytime.
Secondly, May Grant! She was such a badass in this episode, she really displayed her bravery and strength, but was also so understandably overwhelmed by everything which Corrine portrayed in a really realistic way.
Thirdly, May and Bobby's relationship being the highlight of this episode was so dear to me, and May calling Bobby her dad was everything actually.
Fourthly, Eddie being back in his element as a firefighter and realizing how he wanted to move forward and that he was ready to go back to what he loved was beautiful.
Fifthly, Chimney being able to save Albert the way he could never save Kevin, and giving Albert the kind of love and support they never got from their father was so so good 🥺
Finally, Henrietta Wilson! She was so smart and intuitive in the way she figured out what Jonah was doing, and the fact that Karen was so supportive of her theories was really nice to watch.
And all the side characters, Linda, Lucy, Albert, even Carson the electrician were so great!
It's such an amazing episode and I could watch it a million times over!
