so maybe dominique should have taken an extra minute or two to shove her books and notes into her bag instead of just trying to carry everything in her arms, but she wasn’t making a long trip and she hadn’t wanted to pause. all it took was a small distraction though, feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket and trying to figure out if there was any way for her to grab it, and she had stumbled, materials in her arms clattering to the ground. seeing the man rush over she gave a slightly embarrassed shrug. “it’ll be fine. just have to get all my stuff back up.”  it wasn’t the worst situation she’d found herself in from being impulsive at least. “i’m just lucky it isn’t windy or my stuff would be everywhere.” dominique said, just staring at the things on the ground for a moment before kneeling down to start getting everything.

a trip to the music store was always a fun opportunity. mia could stand there for hours trying to find something fun and interesting. she hadn’t planned on going there anytime soon, but well, she was in need of a new record. plus, wasn’t music supposed to boost morale or something? it certainly made her happier. there she stood in the aisle, flipping through the section labeled ‘indie music’. it felt like she had been searching for hours, but to no avail. finally, she turned to the person beside her, hoping that maybe they had some suggestions. “ sorry to bother you, but do you have any recommendations ? i’m looking for a new record for my collection ”

with a small gasp, her eyes widened, practically beaming with excitement for someone to truly listen to her opinions and her chance to introduce them to music that they never would have had the taste for. “there’s far too many choices to begin with, but i’m sure we could run through the list of must-haves and then give a few options from lesser importance. now, are you a fan of show tunes?” she rattled off, forgetting about the sheet music that she’d been browsing at before turning to look at the shelves of records, giving a wave of dismissal at the label of indie music. “i can assure you that these individuals are poorly trained musicians who make up lyrics using those cheap refrigerator magnets. don’t waste your time with them.”

as it was a normal saturday morning, leslie had intended to stop by her favorite diner for some much needed waffles. most people didn’t seem to be outside, the usual din and chatter nowhere to be found. that was alright with her, it most likely meant that there would be less of a breakfast rush. a sudden tap on her shoulder brought her out of her thoughts, making her turn around. “ hey ! what did you do that for ? ”

Weekends were something that Dale had grown to appreciate during his time in the city. No longer constantly working on a case, it was time he now had to himself. He was on his way to the local diner for breakfast when he saw the wallet fall from the woman’s bag. Speeding up, he grabbed it from the floor and jogged lightly to catch up with the woman, tapping her on the shoulder. “Excuse me, ma’am, but I believe you dropped this.” With a warm smile Dale held the wallet out for the woman to take.
