Here's a 360 degree video of our bigger debroom in cottage 5. You might get a better feel from the video. A lot of TLC went into this make over. We do everything ourselves. Being mindful people in our approach to everything we do, we like to take old things and give them a second life. So all the furniture in this room was sanded, and resurfaced to obtain the look we wanted. We also like to use some of the beach coming stuff we find as decoration. It’s hard to believe that about 15mins before this first photo we were in the middle of a ferocious snow storm 🌨 Gladly it was shortlived (I am learning that about Irish weather somewhat!) and the sun came back - so warm I had to take the coat off 🥵

This is the top corner of what (I hope 🤞🏻) will become the kitchen garden / allotment part of the homestead. All the bits of land around the cottage have been pretty well taken over by brambles, and it all needs clearing. I made some small inroads into the (soon to be) orchard, but ended up working on this corner. The second photo - taken looking across to the the same corner, actually taken viewing the property last July - gives a general idea of the bramble bully!

I’m not naive enough to think that they are ‘gone’ just because they’re cut back... but it gives me a boost just to see some clear space 🌱 And it’s great that this area appears to get sunshine for the majority of the day as well. Bodes well! And catching some daffodils making their way out to the sunshine is always a pleasure ☀️

This weekend our good friend Dave @dwbcarpentrey spent the day on the roof trimming and cutting the roof ready for the sky lights to go in this is a key feature of our design as we are wanting to bring the outside into the cottage as this is the feel we want...
