These idiots once sent an Australian parcel to Austria then billed me full price for the return fees. Laposte customer service is a mailbox attached to a shredder even if you get past the robot-labyrinth phone service.
Britain privatized the trains, France privatized the post and phone services. Our trains are fantastic but good luck getting a cell phone signal outside of big towns. Ebay france and other retail stores have adopted courier systems like mondial relay which basically tells you all you need to know.

French Jews are forced to hide their names for fear of discrimination by couriers, taxi drivers, hairdressers and other service workers, GlobalEuroNews reports.
According to witnesses, since the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, people with Jewish names are increasingly being denied service, insulted or even physically assaulted.
Some French Jews change their accounts on platforms or remove their names from their mailboxes because of discrimination by drivers or couriers. There have been 1,500 anti-Semitic acts in the country since 7 October this year.
The results of a survey conducted in January 2022 showed that identifying as Jewish in public places in France is a risk factor and a potential for aggression. 74% of French people of Jewish religion or culture say they have at least once experienced anti-Semitic behaviour, ranging from ridicule to physical attacks. 48% of those surveyed sometimes do not risk saying they are Jewish, and 55% of parents ask their children not to wear any distinctive signs.

It also influenced the UN in their decision to condemn communist actions in Korea, and was a major factor in the decline of communism in the "free world, including key countries such as Italy and France.[34] In Italy, the VOA did not just bring an end to communism, but it caused the country to Americanize.[37] The VOA also had an impact behind the Iron Curtain. Practically all defectors during Kohler's time claimed the VOA helped in their decision to defect. Another indication of impact, according to Kohler, was the Soviet response. Kohler argued that the Soviets responded because the VOA was having an impact. Based on Soviet responses, it can be presumed that the most effective programs were ones that compared the lives of those behind and outside the iron curtain, questions on the practice of slave labor, as well as lies and errors in Stalin's version of Marxism.[34][...]
The Arabic service resumed on January 1, 1950, with a half-hour program. This program grew to 14.5 hours daily during the Suez Crisis of 1956, and was six hours a day by 1958.[33] Between 1952 and 1960, Voice of America used a converted U.S. Coast Guard cutter Courier as a first mobile broadcasting ship.[40]

Its coverage of the 1991 August coup enriched sparse domestic coverage of the event and drew in a wide audience.[81] The broadcasts allowed Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin to stay in touch with the Russian people during this turbulent period. Boris Yeltsin later expressed his gratitude through a presidential decree allowing Radio Liberty to open a permanent bureau in Moscow.[82]
Following the November 17 demonstrations and brutal crackdown by Czechoslovak riot police, Drahomíra Dražská [cs], a porter at a dormitory in Prague, reported that a student, Martin Šmíd, had been killed during the clashes.[83] The Charter 77 activist Petr Uhl believed this account and passed it along to major news organizations, who broadcast it.[84] After Reuters and the Voice of America (VOA) reported the story, RFE/RL decided to run it too.[85] However, the report later turned out to be false. Hi!! Can I ask what you use to ship your packages :00 I've heard of phlpost but it kinda scares me

i do use the services of phlpost to send out international orders. but i must inform you though, that phlpost does not deliver the shipment in its entirety. this means that phlpost only handles the side of shipment that is within the Philippines. once the package has been dispatched to the country of destination,the package is taken by your local courier or by your local post office. ie. Royal Mail, La poste, Poste Italiene, USPS etc.
I do understand where you're coming from tho, multiple orders has made its way back to me from a year ago and the Philippines' mailing system hasn't updated for who knows how long....... but i've recently started going to a different post office branch and the track record from the current one i'm using has been good so far.
this one requires me to fill out a CN 07 form. it's a pink card that gets returned to me (depending on how much the ones handling the package want to work let's be honest😂 there are packages that have been delivered and I didn't receive their pink card) and it helps me track how long shipment takes to certain countries.
i'd like to share some of them with you to help with your expectations somewhat haha
a package outbound to Singapore that i posted on June 9, 2023 was delivered on July 4, 2023 and in that same regard, a package I posted on June 29 is still currently in transit as of today.
a package outbound to France that i posted on February 13, 2023 was delivered on March 29, 2023, and one outbound to Germany--also posted on February 13, 2023--was delivered on April 6, 2023. But with the air traffic control strike in the EU (that started in june i think???) do expect delays in the coming months.
i think the packages with the least travel time are packages outbound to the US. a package i posted on June 7, 2023 was delivered on June 26, 2023 (this depends on the state). USPS really delivers hats off to them hahaha😂
so in a lot of ways, international shipment is a team effort by both countries involved (inbound and outbound)
however, there are countries that the Philippines does NOT have a direct dispatch to. that means the package is taken to a third party to continue the shipment for us. For example, packages outbound to Israel is taken to Greece first and then they handle the shipment from there.
lol this got long but i really wanted to express how laborious and tedious (gov't owned) postal service is but they get the job done too!! a lot of respect for them😭💙

Edmund Jennings Randolph (August 10, 1753 – September 12, 1813) was a Founding Father of the United States, attorney, and the 7th Governor of Virginia. As a delegate from Virginia, he attended the Constitutional Convention and helped to create the national constitution while serving on its Committee of Detail. He was appointed the first United States Attorney General by George Washington and subsequently served as the second Secretary of State during the Washington administration.
A scandal involving an intercepted French message led to Randolph's resignation as Secretary of State in August 1795. Randolph had been tasked with maintaining friendly relations with France. The British Navy had intercepted correspondence from the French minister Joseph Fauchet to his superiors and turned it over to Washington, who was dismayed that the letters reflected contempt for the United States and that Randolph had been primarily responsible. The letters implied that Randolph had exposed the inner debates in the cabinet to France and had told it that the administration was hostile to the country. At the very least, Elkins and McKitrick conclude, there "was something here profoundly disreputable to the government's good faith and character."
While residing in Pennsylvania, the 6-month residency deadline for [his slaves] approached. Attorney General Edmund Randolph's slaves had obtained their freedom under the 1780 law, and Randolph was advising Washington (through Lear's letters) on how to prevent the eight [slaves] from similarly obtaining theirs.
Hercules Mulligan (September 25, 1740 – March 4, 1825) was an Irish-American tailor and spy during the American Revolutionary War. He was a member of the Sons of Liberty.
Mulligan owned a slave, Cato, a Black Patriot who served as a spy together with Mulligan, and often acted the role of courier, in part through British-held territory, by exploiting his status as a slave, letting him pass on intelligence to the Continental Army without being detained. In 1778, Cato was granted his freedom in return for his service during the war. He was discharged in 1783 and moved to Plymouth, Massachusetts.

NCA shuts down major fraud platform responsible for 1.8 million scam calls

The National Crime Agency can reveal that they have shut down a platform used by hundreds of criminals to defraud victims across the world. Russian Coms, established in 2021, is thought to be behind financial losses in the tens of millions. An estimated 170,000 people across the UK are believed to be victims. The platform allowed criminals to hide their identity by appearing to call from pre-selected numbers, most commonly of financial institutions, telecommunications companies and law enforcement agencies. This enabled them to gain the trust of victims before stealing their money and personal details. Between 2021 and 2024, over 1.3 million calls were made by Russian Coms users to 500,000 unique UK phone numbers. Of those who reported to Action Fraud, the average loss is over £9,400. Three individuals have been arrested by the NCA, two of whom are believed to have been involved in the creation and development of the platform. They have been released on conditional bail. Law enforcement partners in the UK and overseas, supported by Europol, will take joint action against users over the coming months. Russian Coms was available as a handset and, latterly, as a web app, marketed through Snapchat, Instagram and Telegram. According to adverts shared across social media, the service included “unlimited minutes”, “hold music”, “encrypted phone calls”, “instant handset wipe”, international calls, voice changing services, and 24/7 support. An example of a typical scam involved offenders spoofing the number of a bank to gain the trust of a victim, before convincing them that their account had been subject to fraudulent activity. They would then be persuaded to transfer their money to another account in order to safeguard their savings. The fraudsters were able to access victims’ money in a number of ways. They impersonated reputable companies and stole funds for goods which were never delivered; gained full access to bank accounts; and arranged for the collection of physical debit and credit cards from victims on the pretence that they needed replacing. Victims of all ages suffered losses, and calls were made to individuals in 107 different countries around the world, including the USA, New Zealand, Norway, France and the Bahamas. The handset could only be used to make spoofed calls. It was loaded with a number of fake applications that had no functionality, to make it look like an everyday smartphone if seized by law enforcement. This was in addition to several VPN apps, allowing the user to hide their IP address, and a burn app that instantly wiped the phone after being activated. A six-month contract cost between £1,200 and £1,400, depending on collection and delivery. The web app was marketed as a “flagship service”, allowing full access to the Russian Coms web phone for £350 per month, to be paid using cryptocurrency. In March, following months of intelligence gathering and painstaking investigative work, two men aged 26 and 28 were arrested in Newham, London, by NCA officers. They are believed to be the platform’s developers and administrators. That month, the platform was taken down. On 12 April 2024, a suspected close affiliate and handset courier, a 28-year-old man also from Newham, was arrested.
