The award for the most intimidating crab legs (and claws) I’ve seen in 36 years definitely goes to #CaptainJacks in #SunsetBeach!😮🦀 No joke, it felt like I had ten pounds of animal on my plate. If you’re going to wake up and do shots, it may as well be at Longbeach’s Salud juice bar.🍏🍎🍐🍊🍋 They offer a pretty unique approach to “hair of the dog” with an assortment of cold pressed and concentrated healers. We started with “The Other Beet One” - Beet, orange, apple and lemon. I’d recommend chasing that bad boy down with a refillable growler of alkaline water. These lovely ladies made a fine souvenir from another night spent basking in “tiki-paradise”. I’ve been excited to come to Don the Beachcomber since the @runsurfcity marathon 2017! 🏃🏻‍♀️🌊☀️🌴They have silly tiki vibes, cocktails galore with interesting clientele and serve one of the tastiest Mai Tais I’ve had in my life (hands down). Hats off to restaurateur #ArsalunTafazuli designer #PaulBasile and #ChefJasonMcLeod for creating one of the sexiest dining experiences I’ve had in years! 💃🏻👏🏼Granted rooftop dining has all-the-pull on a New Yorker’s heart strings while escaping the cold to San Diego in March.❄️✈️☀️Born and Raised is a romantic trip back in time with Art Deco-glam influence, enthusiastic bartenders shaking up table-side cocktails and convincing servers advising on all of the steakhouse classics from their animal-forward-no-bs menu. I fell in love with the details of the whole experience from the romantic decor, to the table side service and sky line views... However, they truly won my ❤️ by wrapping me in a massive fuzzy stole when the temperature dropped!🙆🏻‍♀️(As if I needed anymore convincing with an evening of mouth watering filet-mignon surf and turf (all the sauces),vespers and divine wines while overlooking the skylines of San Diego.😍) Dessert was supposed to be liquid espresso martinis, but who in their right mind could turn down a caramel apple cheesecake?!🤷🏻‍♀️This was definitely my favorite dining experience in SD. The second most awesome thing about waking up at @keatinghotel was being right next to one of the most awesome brunch spots in Gaslamp @cafe21sandiego!
