Taking album art from online and gently renaming it to "cover.jpg" is a very gentle thing to do i think

this is not my full bandcamp library but mostly everything from this year with a few other releases thrown in.

La obra de Néstor Osvaldo Perlongher

¡Hola y bienvenido de nuevo! En la entrada de hoy hablaré de una persona específica que fue muy influyente para el movimiento LGBTQ+ en Argentina. Esta persona se llama Néstor Osvaldo Perlongher. Fue un poeta y filántropo argentino-brasileño que escribió hermosos e inspiradores poemas. El nació en Avellaneda el 25 de diciembre de 1949 y murió en São Paulo el 26 de noviembre de 1992.

Como estudiante, se unió al Partido Obrero trotskista, pero lo él lo había dejado rápidamente porque el partido no apoyaba a la comunidad LGBTQ+ de la que formaba parte. Luego se unió y fue uno de los miembros fundadores del Frente de Liberación Homosexual (FLH), la organización de la que hablé brevemente en la entrada anterior. Principalmente Perlongher escribió sobre la homofobia que existía en la sociedad latinoamericana y que podría expresarse a través de la escritura, la cultura pop, y los movimientos políticos. A menudo, había un gran maltrato hacia los hombres homosexuales porque no eran lo suficientemente masculinos. También dijo que los hombres abiertamente homosexuales a menudo experimentaban homofobia, misoginia y violencia, mucho más que los hombres de apariencia masculina que ocasionalmente tenían relaciones con otros hombres. En rebelión, se refería a mismo en femenino. Esto acción  empoderó a mujeres, reinas-drag, trabajadoras sexuales y personas transexuales. También apoyó a quienes luchaban contra los problemas de drogas porque pasó un tiempo en la cárcel por consumo de drogas. Estuvo en prisión en 1976 y en 1981 tomó un autobús rumbo a Brasil donde escribió su famosa obra Cadaveres.

Por hacer esto, influyó en muchos porque tenía voz incluso cuando sufría discriminación. Hizo muchas cosas influyentes y útiles, pero sobre todo, el tema de los derechos LGBTQ en la conversación entre los políticos. 

Mientras políticamente creó cambios, inspiró a la gente a través de sus escritos. Por ejemplo, en el poema titulado La maldad de uno mismo, Perlongher habló sobre ser verdad a uno mismo y el poder de la identidad propia.

En este poema dice:

“Mírate, muerte, a ti misma.

Retírate sin provocar la explosión de tu caparazón.

Oculto para no ser descubierto.

Porque una vez que llegas conviertes todo en ausencia.

Ausencia gris, ausencia plana, ausencia dolorosa de lo que falta”.

Creo que está intentando motivar a la gente a ser ellos mismos. A menudo defendió por la autoexpresión y el amor. Especialmente cuando escribió “Oculto para no ser descubierto”, creo que se dirige a las personas que tienen miedo de ser ellas mismas. Este era un problema muy común durante este tiempo. También escribió un libro de poemas que impactó a una población mayor. Este libro se llama cadáveres y trata sobre la idea de ciudadanía y comunidad. En su poema más largo llamado “Desaparecidos” habla de la desaparición de miembros de la comunidad LGBTQ+ debido al golpe militar en el poder en ese momento. Un periódico local escribió: “Aunque sus temas son la muerte y la tortura, 'Cadáveres' está hecho de vida'”. Su vida consistía en ayudar a su comunidad a través del activismo y la escritura y creo que por eso es tan celebrado. En general, ayudó a mucha gente y sigue siendo una inspiración en todas partes. Finding, fixing, and synchronizing all your MP3 music album art MOSTLY automatically (BASH script)

I like album covers -- enough that I keep writing programs to display them. The problem is, my MP3s come from all over the place. I literally have music files originally recorded from the radio, onto cassette, and then encoded into MP3. So my album art is ... not always great. Some MP3s were missing embedded art. Some had different covers embedded in the files than were in the cover.jpg and folder.jpg files in the album directory. Some were missing album art altogether. And with a digital music library as large as mine... that's a lot to double check. That's what computers are for. I wrote a script to finally fix those f'in covers in your music directory and to synchronize them between cover.jpg, folder.jpg and what's embedded in the file. (Standard disclaimer: It worked on my system and files, I've done my best to catch edge cases, but backup your files first or use --safe.) If they all match, it will ensure they're all the same. If one or more locations is missing the cover, it will add it there. (Including embedded in the MP3 with --autoembed. If the cover.jpg, folder.jpg, or embedded cover differ, it will present them to you (with an audible alarm if you use --ping) so that you can select the correct one. If you choose none of them, it will search online for cover art. If you use --safe it will merely output what commands it would run. If you use --remove it will remove existing covers from MP3s before adding the chosen cover. If you use --loud it will spit a lot of stuff out onto the terminal. Some sub-commands output text to $STDOUT whether I want them to or not. If you use --checkall, it will prompt you to confirm each album cover, even if it all matches. You can also force it to search online for each album using --everything, which implies --checkall in practice, as the checksum of a downloaded cover probably is slightly different than what you have. Which sounds like a lot, but you can point f_fix_covers.sh at your entire music collection, or just at a specific album directory. Feed the ones you want to check in one at a time with xargs if you feel like it. Two important notes: - This script assumes that each directory contains the same album, even if the artists are different. You will get wrong results if you have a bunch of different MP3s from different albums in the same directory. - If there is a single existing cover -- or single version, rather -- in the directory, the script assumes it is correct and will automatically assume that it is the correct cover. If you want to verify existing covers, use --checkall or --everything. You can find the script in my yolo-mpd repository on GitHub, GitLab, or my personal git repository.
