oooh! since devon was inspired to do her 21 outfits video from emma chamberlain's, what do you think of emma chamberlain's outfit video?
Ok, here we go (I’ve never watched one Emma Chamberlain video so I’m only finding out now that she’s got her own coffee brand???! Do people actually pay for it? And is it any good?!? Someone let me know pls):
Outfit 1: Zoe Kravtiz would wear this but the pants wouldn’t be draw-string. Details people! I say all of this but the babes at Fitzroy has run this outfit into the ground about 2 years ago.
Outfit 2: I’m too old to find any merits in this fit but my friend’s sisters in middle school would totally wear this
Outfit 3: Kaia Gerber says she wants her whole look back. The colour blocking is honestly kinda cute but she also looks like a children’s toy so idk. I like the first bag for it, not the cheetah one.
Outfit 4: Ok, I like this! I love myself a basic fit with a massive pop of colour and print. The sunglasses tie into it super well as well!
Outfit 5: Switch out the pants and we’ve got a Princess D-inspired look here. I don’t love the shoes but I don’t hate it. The fit of the barbour jacket is actually really great on her - not too oversized but just big enough to sag a little. I can already tell by this outfit that she’s a Brandy Melville kinda gal. The LV bag really aged the look imo.
Outfit 6: This is the worst one so far. It looks like it came straight out of a 2000s Delias lookbook. Not a fan of those pants but props for having the confidence to rock ‘em!
Outfit 7: “I can already feel the judgment through the screen” Yeah, basically
Outfit 8: She looks like Stussy sponsors her, but I know for a fact those pants are from Holiday the Label. I mean it’s cute, but it’s been done.
Outfit 9: I feel like she could have gone full prep and done a ponytail with it. It’s cute - it’s like a relaxed approach to dressing like a Ralph Lauren model from the 90′s. Again, she looks like she shops from Brandy.
Outfit 10: Throw that Von Dutch cap away and you’ve got a trendy outfit right there. Rue from Euphoria would wear this, half of LA would wear this.
Outfit 11: This could have been a serve if she swapped that top out for something else. I love myself a colorful outfit but that print doesn’t go with the rusty palette she’s got going on with this outfit.
Outfit 12: I was going to complain about the cow-printed purse (the other suitcase bag isn’t any better tbh) but I see the vision here, she’s trying to give us some lowkey western/cowgirl vibes. Find another bag, like a cute crossover or even the one from outfit 3, and throw on some chunky platform boots to really commit to the lewk, Emma!
Outfit 13: Kendall Jenner would wear this to go get coffee with Luka Sabbath and co. I hate it.
Outfit 14: I can see myself loving every component of this outfit separately but when put together, it just doesn’t look right. I know I don’t need those platform knee-high boots from UNIF but my god, do I want it!
Outfit 15: There’s a weird 6-month cross-over style period between the end of the 80′s and the start of 90′s where people couldn’t quite commit to normcore and she’s channeling. I’d do a different shirt and keep everything else. This honestly could have been such a cool monochromatic look tbh.
Outfit 16: NO. NO. NO. NOT A PAUL FRANK T-SHIRT OVER A LONG SLEEVE. I’M CRINGING AT MY 10-YEAR-OLD SELF BEING FORCED INTO THIS OUTFIT
Outfit 17: ...I don’t get it? Am I just getting too old to get it?
Outfit 18: Nothing special but it’s cute in a basic way, I guess?
Outfit 19: This is the part of 80s fashion that I can’t get with. I really do appreciate her matching the collar of that Heaven by Marc Jacobs baby tee with the jeans. That’s a cool idea but ditch the puffer, please?
Outfit 20: I see Hailey Bieber wearing this and getting dragged for it. So in saying that, I don’t like this outfit. I know patchwork jeans are coming back in trend but these ones look tacky tbh.
Outfit 21: I’d be exhausted after all of that and change into something cozy too.
In summary, I’m beginning to realize where all my friends’ little sisters and cousins are getting their style inspo from. I used to see them in outfits like 16 and 13 and be confused as to who/what they're trying to channel and why they’re doing it but I get it now. I think I’m too old to enjoy her sense of style but I actually do think that she’s got a really creative vision, she just doesn’t know how to execute it to its full capacity or without being too messy. I think with some time and a few trials and errors she could really be a solid dresser!

LOGO AND BRAND NAME IDEAS
For my brand, it was important that I had a name that matched the style of my brand. I went through Instagram picking out all the names of the rave wear brands I liked the look of. Some of the names of brands that I liked the look of were House of funk, Jl.bits, Moody cow clothing, Groove studio clothing, Sassy pants the label. It’s hard to find a brand name that you think reflects your brand and so I had to go through and just start generating names from the top of my head that I thought would suit my brand.
Tumblr media
The names with a box around them were the names I liked the sound of the most. Looking back now the name I eventually chose was one that wasn’t boxed. I think when it came to designing the logo some names meant I could be a lot more playful and creative with the logo design. In the end, the name for the brand that I chose is XE.XE. It struck me as a standout name and one which was simple but rememberable. As my brand is unisex I thought the name tied in nicely and didn’t come across as too biased for a gender. As my brand is focused around unisex rave wear I decided that the colors for my logo would be neon. There are slight issues in printing with neon colours onto fabrics and paper so I will have to either adapt the colours when printing or for things such as a lookbook or zine keep the documentation digital. For the first product launch, the plan is to release t-shirts in a variety of neon colours with the logo printed onto them and then shot in a lookbook. There is a possibility that the colours from the logo may clash with the colours of the t-shirt but it is still part of the experimentation process.
Tumblr media
This was the first draft of my logo, with the slogan “made to stand out” underneath. Whilst I enjoyed the two tone colours I didn’t feel as though the font of the logo or slogan matched my brands image.
Tumblr media
Here I simply removed the slogan and sharpened the edges of the text. I also began to play with the size of the text and decided to break up my brand name instead of using a bullet point or circle I would use the unisex symbol as my brand is going to be unisex so I thought it would help target our potential customers and give us a strong brand image.
Tumblr media
Here I began to add the colours I desired for my brand to the text. I think this is where my brand identity starts to become strong and my vision for my brand is represented in my logo.
Tumblr media
Here is some more experimenting using shapes on the logo. I knew I wanted to print either the logo or the brand image onto t-shirts and by using a shape in the logo it would be easier for my customers to associate my brand with the product.
Tumblr media
Finally the finished logo. I placed the text onto a black background because it made the logo stand out more, I have also decided that any work I do in the future ie) brand boards, zine, lookbook will need to be on a black background to allow my logo to stand out and have a uniform.

Meet DSMP, an Alternative, Indie Version of a Luxury Group – WWD
https://pmcwwd.files.wordpress.com/2020/07/liberal.jpg?w=640&h=415&crop=1
Luxury groups assemble to take advantage of synergies and scale — and typically the main, cash-cow brands can help fund smaller ones in development.
Consider Dover Street Market Paris — a clutch of young, quirky labels operating under various business arrangements — an alternative version, with a strong independent streak.
“I don’t want to become LVMH, but I want to be a new fashion group where there’s synergies and accidents,” Adrian Joffe, chief executive officer of Dover Street Market and president of Comme des Garçons International, said this week.
His language echoed Rei Kawakubo’s original description for her Dover Street Market retail emporiums — “beautiful chaos” — as does the Dover Street Market Paris showroom at 6 Place Vendôme, where skater style, California cool and youthful angst co-mingle under brass chandeliers and intricate 18-century mouldings.
While not on the official calendar for the first online edition of Paris Fashion Week, the four brands under the DSMP umbrella — Paccbet, Youths in Balaclava, Liberal Youth Ministry and ERL Eli Russell Linnetz — all produced spring 2021 collections, along with videos and lookbooks. The physical showroom is receiving European buyers until July 24, while North American and Asian retailers can place orders using a virtual showroom.
Honey F–-king Dijon, a collection by the Berlin-based DJ, also falls under DSMP. DSMP is wholly owned by Comme des Garçons, but it doesn’t own the brands under its umbrella. Rather it helps nurture original products, and takes care of brand development, production and distribution.
Joffe trumped healthy growth for Paccbet, now carried in about 100 stores worldwide, including many specialty skate shops. Found in 2016, by Gosha Rubchinskiy, an alumnus of Comme des Garçons, and professional skater Tolia Titaev, the Moscow-based brand delved into Eighties gym culture for its latest collection, which spans baggy shorts, patched-up pants, classic training gear and T-shirts covered in Russian mottos and the occasional female bodybuilder.
ERL, only presenting its second full collection, is already sold in 45 doors, and founder Linnetz is plotting his first fragrance later this year. In sync with a collection rooted in Venice Beach, Calif., it will be called Sunscreen. An art director and photographer known for his collaborations with Lady Gaga and Grimes, Linnetz shot the lookbook in a style reminiscent of the slyly homoerotic Seventies magazine After Dark.
Comme des Garçons produces the ERL collection, leveraging its network of factories in France, Portugal and Turkey. The spring collection, anointed “Endless Summer,” includes buttery soft hoodies in sun-bleached colors with tie-dye insets, terry-cloth pullovers in groovy wallpaper prints and some spectacular puffer jackets, one with a degrade sunset motif.
Joffe, who scours the world for fresh fashion talent, noted that huge distances between the four designers haven’t stopped them from helping each other.
Antonio Zaragoza, the designer of Guadalajara, Mexico-based Liberal Youth Ministry, introduced his jewelry manufacturer to Singapore-based Youths in Balaclava, and one of his fabric suppliers to Russia’s Paccbet.
“That’s exactly the kind of synergy I was hoping for,” said Joffe, who let slip that he plans to put two more brands under the DSMP umbrella later this year.
To be sure, his young designers are plugged into the zeitgeist. Zaragoza’s spring collection, “Ethnic Adolescent,” drew inspiration from youth culture from the time of the Aztecs through the Sixties, while Youths in Balaclava celebrated the transgressive style and avant-garde of musician Genesis P-Orridge, who died earlier this year.
Zaragoza said he has been “nourished” by sharing ideas and challenges with his peers.
“Being all together with so many different backgrounds and different countries and all together clashing, it’s just wonderful. I have learned a lot — from the business to the creative way on making collections.”
He also lauded the backup of DSMP and Comme des Garçons. “It’s really inspiring the way they push everything with freedom and a kind of rebellious vibe,” he said.
