Hi! You have probably been asked this before but I couldn’t find anything :/ This year one of my goals is to continue learning catalan (I took a class in 2017 but since then the classes in the Catalan Centre have clashed with my schedule and I haven’t been able to take them again). Since 2017, I’ve still continued immersing myself in Catalan culture (watching Polseres Vermelles, Merli, Plats Bruts, Crackovia, etc and listening to music in Catalan and almost daily to Rac1 programs) and using Duolingo, so I feel like my reading and listening are pretty good but I struggle with speaking it myself (forming the sentences aksjjd) so I was wondering if you had any resource for me to learn that specifically (either like a free course online or grammar books I could download and teach myself?). Sorry for the long question and thanks in advance!

Usually I recommend the online courses on parla.cat, but sadly it’s said that Flash will stop working. Parla.cat uses Flash and they don’t have money to re-do it. I don’t know the other resources available well enough to be able to point to any specifically, but here you’ll find a masterpost of resources that might be useful.

Maybe it’s not an option yet (depending on your level), but I will leave this for the future. If you want to speak to Catalan speakers, I recommend Voluntariat per la Llengua (VxL). It’s a programme that pairs a volunteer speaker with someone who is learning Catalan to speak on videocalls (https://www.vxl.cat/virtual).

Conquest of Paradise - that one I remember clearly, it was a prompt on footballkink2, and when I started it, I didn’t expect it to become such a monster fic. Originally, it only had two storylines: Silvilla and Cesc/Sergio with Iker as the villain. But then I started to add other characters, and each had a line and some secret, and it’s what it is today.

Jewels - also a prompt, probably, since I remember writing it on footballkink2, but I think it wasn’t very detailed and I made up most of it myself. Although Sernando is the main storyline, I admit I wrote it mainly for the Bartra/Roberto angst there. The setting was inspired a little bit by a really old series of fics set in the Ottoman empire that I read ages ago on LJ.

There is still fire in my heart - oooh, a funny one, it was inspired by a Crackovia episode in which football was illegal and Guardiola was in prison, and then there was a similar episode, me thinks. There is an advertisement that is completely like my story, but it actually came out AFTER I posted my fic (creepy af).

Safe and mine - another glorious prompt. Although the OP probably never thought it would end up being this dark, but the Victorian setting completely engulfed me, and Raúl was too enjoyable as a villain. The sequel is completely my doing, I just needed to tell what happened after, and in a way I like the sequel better - well, I like the characters better, especially the morally grey Morata who is an innocent, naive boy, and at the same time willing to cover up a crime and stay silent for money, and the unreadable Llorente, and the dead inside prostitute Illarra. 

No rest for the wicked - that one was mainly driven by my desire to write Dybala/Morata, and inspired by the Morata charades between clubs and how boy was tossed around. Also because I stan psycho, cold-blooded Dybala, but I think Morata is one of the very few people he wouldn’t be able to kill no matter what.
