it's not often that art makes me want to vomit with ecstasy but your crashtex stuff does just that. I honestly kind of held off on drawing my own for a while because yours always scratched that specific itch so perfectly. Thanks for all you do!

Lmao the beginning of that first sentence kinda scared me at first ngl. I thought my art had seriously upset someone when I read the word 'vomit'. I quickly realized your comment was meant to say the exact opposite, though ;D

Anyway, I'm so happy to hear that! One of these days I should probably look through some of my old sketchbooks to see if there's something worth posting there or maybe look for something funny to redraw idk. I know for a fact, though, that I have a TON of old Crashtex wips somewhere.

A person PM'd me about Crash, Cortex and their "father-son relationship" being mentioned in the new game. I hope they won't mind I'm gonna answer this in public, because I think it will be fair towards all the people who follow me for CB art. Maybe some of them wanted to ask me about this as well. And after my words you gonna decide, how to treat me and my vision of the characters.

I'm not going to draw any incest, and the same goes about adopted one. What do those things mean?

First case means that characters are related - it's determined by biology and not depends on how they treat each other. Second case means that characters are not related biologiacaly, but still have a family kind of bound. And I see this family bond as a mutual respect, or mutual care? I know how is it, because I treat some of my friends as adopted siblings.

Now you look at Crash and Cortex. Like, what they do all those 24 years the CB franchise exist? They fight each other. Every time Cortex tries to take over the world or just destroy Crash, and the last is always going to ruin his evil plans. Are they biologicaly related? No. Are their relstionship looks like "adopted family" model? Ugh, no?? I don't think that adopting someone to kill them later is how "father-son" relationship works.

Cortex is a mad scientist, a villain. What kind of people he keeps close to himself? Those who will be by his side. Those who gonna follow all of his orders and help him to conquer the planet.

Flashback tapes happened before Crash malfunctioned in Vortex. While then Cortex dreams about a bandicoot becoming his general. It was the most promising subject, so there is no wonders that he, after spending a lot of time and effort working with this bandicoot, began to treat it as his own child. BUT only while he thought that Crash is gonna be by his side, conquering the world for him.

Then whoops, Crash malfunctioned and escaped, thus becoming the nemesis of Cortex. And after all the mess he caused - do you think that Cortex still considers Crash as his son? I'm gonna believe he treats Tiny as his stupid, but still son. Or Dingodile. Or maybe even Riper Roo. But definetely not Crash. Cortex is easy on changing his opinion. Today he wants to kill you, then he is "oh no, those evil guys gonna destroy me! Crash, help!", and then "haha, evil again!". Considering all of this, I'm really unsure that any father feelings towards bandicoots are left in him.

Being a creator doesn't make Cortex a parent-role-person automatically. Like, back in time when there was a Willy Wombat concept, one of the story versions was about Cortex creating Carmen the Wombat to be his girlfriend (it was rejected becuse Cortex' character had no need for the love story). I'm saying this, meaning that creator is just a creator, and family bound is something to be BUILT, it doesn't just pops out when you put Australian critter in some evolving machine. I can tell Crash and Aku Aku are into "father-son" relationship. But not Crash and Cortex.

Crash Bandicoot was a property of different studios, and one of them literally depicted Crash and Cortex in wedding attire. So I can say this is canon too - because hey, it was made by the owning studio?

One game shows this, other one shows that. What is undeniable canon for Crash and Cortex - is them being enemies. And their family relationship, or their wedding - it's just a hints for the fans? And just because "father-son" thing appeared in the last game, it doesn't make it canon for all the series (for as we know, Crash 4 is only related to the trilogy, and games from WoC to MoM are kinda happening in another universe).

If you see Cortex and Crash as father and son, and if you don't like seeing them in romantic relationship - I respect your decision. You can just block crashtex tag, or even block me of you want. But I don't think this couple counts as incestuous/problematic, because they are:

a) not related

b) the only exact canon for them is being enemies; and things mentioned on the background may have different interpretation by the fans.

I'm not going to have war with this. I said all I think, and I don't consider crashtex problematic. If you strictly disagree, feel free to block/ignore me.
