my totally rational bugsnax theory

im going to share this here too because the world deserves to hear it.

ok so look at snorpy and floofty:

they’re siblings, and you can see their connection through their inverted colour palettes. Snorpy has yellow fur and a purple nose, and Floofty has purple fur and a yellow nose.

now, look at THIS:

Cromdo and Filbo have the same inverted colour palettes. this is why I propose that Cromdo is Filbo’s dad.

OKAY hear me out.

here’s some supporting evidence:

1. of course the fur colours being linked suggest they are related 

2. Cromdo has yellow eyes, which are complementary to Filbo’s purple eyes. this doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but it’s another connection between them.

3. Cromdo has these ‘dad ties’ in his home

now, these are confirmed references to Octodad, but why in Cromdo’s house specifically? well...

HE HAS A CHILD THAT HE’S NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. now, let’s assume that he hasn’t actually seen this child since they were SUPER young, and just got the tie himself for scam reasons... that would make sense as to why Filbo doesn’t recognise or acknowledge him. 

4. this is the shakiest bit of evidence, but I initially imagined Cromdo’s surname was actually a fake surname as it broke the pattern the other surnames followed, not being a mashup of two words like Wigglebottom, Gigglefunny, Troubleham, etc. just... Face. Cromdo Face. what if that’s not his real surname, but a fake one he made up to hide his identity from Filbo? (also worth noting both surnames start with an F... hmm)

5. Filbo dances with Cromdo at the final party for seemingly no reason?

so, that’s my theory. I always found it weird that Cromdo’s ties were never addressed in game, and the creators adding the detail of him being divorced and having a kid felt like it should be significant, given his character arc.

do I think this was at all intended by the creators? no. do I think this theory has a lot of holes? yes. do I think this theory is hilarious as hell? YES. just imagining Cromdo rocking up to this island for business reasons and accidentally coming across his long lost kid (now grown up) that he’s legally not allowed to see? I can imagine him being in total denial about the entire thing. 

tldr: Cromdo is Filbo’s dad and that is an irrefutable fact actually

i don't like this one AS MUCH as the others, but I think it came out good enough to post. I think I'm mostly dissatisfied with cromdo's head and the shape of beffica's hair, but I still had fun with it. I wonder what I will do next...
