When I grew up all the girls wanted thugs and many to this day still do. Everything on tv and movies glamorized the thug life. Being smart made you a sell out. Got you picked on and beat up and left alone. Which I overstand now was a set up to have us kill each other. It was a set up to destroy the #BlackFamily . Brothers—articulating our concerns in conflict, without losing emotional control is a challenge. However we can no longer afford to “bottle up” what’s causing discord in our hearts and homes. “Happy wife, happy life” is a misleading mantra because the emotions you keep from her to keep her “happy” will come out elsewhere (drugs, adultery, pornography, violence, etc.). Sometimes I too want to stay silent just to have an illusion of peace, but I’d hate to die knowing my wife would have a lie as a memory, instead of the truth.
