bringing lucanis to emmrich's loyalty quest when you're an ingellvar romancing him has such energy of like... 'okay this is starting to feel really serious so I guess it's time to mutually show off some of the familial skeletons in the closet (as it were. ahaha haha....). we've already seen what one of your family parties look like when they go a bit awry, so it's only fair you get to see what happens when my folks go off the rails. there's -- admittedly a bit more unhinged mage hubris and plans for world domination and threatening the fabric of existence than would perhaps be ideal, no two ways about it, can't get away from that. but on the other hand I have to deal with illario. so *anxious🥺 rook face* wouldn't you agree we're kind of even in the grand scheme of things'
lucanis voice: well yeah okay when you put it like that fair point actually. (from his comments through this quest I think his main complaint would probably be that it feels a lot like just another work trip fhadskj)

I don't think he needs to worry you can say a lot about lucanis. but fundamentally he's not a quitter#it'll take a lot more than a few skulls and a mad professor sort-of relative to throw him off

it's my birthday so i don't think any real writing is gonna happen here this evening but i AM making peri (mourn watch warrior) in the cc atm and i'm determined to get her basic summary written bc i love her so much
#peri is a dwarf who wanted to be a necromancer but yknow. dwarf. so she's crypt protector instead#loves every one of the mourn watch. absolute ray of sunshine. optimistic and loves the necropolis and sings to the spirits#(she's gonna get fucked upppp by Events she's just a (24 y/o) baby who's never been outside nevarra city)#i'm also considering?? making merryn a companion rather than rook#like rook has given personality traits even with the dialogue options that don't really fit with her#but i also want to do a run with her so that's still undecided#tbd //

more of my rook thoughts
(with maybe some light spoilers on emmrich romance)
#once again read at your own risk of the mild spoilers#veilguard spoilers#so ever since I found one of my rook’s caretakers(?) in the necropolis I have been trying to come up with more lore#and the caretaker’s bones are clearly not qunari bc lack of horns but if I squint enough it still works#so I have removed the blight from my rook in the sense he’s not blighted but he was at risk of dying v young (at like 3/4) bc of necrosis#caretaker might have been someone close to rook’s parents who knew some mourn watcher who could help with mort’s necrosis injury#but also someone not that experienced with the necropolis itself & ended up getting lost and attacked by undead#they ultimately managed to save mort but died themselves due to undead or a fall#cue watchers finding mort all alone in a tomb and taking him in#crypt baby mort who gets easily cured of the necrosis but also ends up somehow really reckless regarding death#insert here emmrich who’s deathly afraid of dying#plus think of all the angst like I personally would feel horrible taking emmrich on missions knowing he’s scared of dying#but also emmrich is the only one he’s been able to connect to in the veilguard so far and mort loves being around him#I am yapping so much sorry I love the necromancer gays

stressing myself out doing act 3 stuff in a specific order for no reason
#what i WANT to do is the iron throne rescue#but i wanna rescue laezel from orin#but i wanna fight sarevok with minsc in my party#and there's good loot at wizard shop that doesnt require fighting so i might as well do that#and we're right next to murder target cora so#and it would be easier to pass thru the park so gotta fight those assassins#and the entrance to bhal village is right by the mummy crypt and i really want the gear he drops#and the mansion is right by jahieras house and i have minsc now so#dove plays bg3#should i go straight to the sub or talk to gnomes first which is more fighting#after throne the house of hope is probably my fave act 3 mission#probably bc theyre so contained i cant get distracted and come back later#part of the decision paralysis is tiv is finally lvl 12 and i was planning to be the Necrodancer this whole time#she read the book of thay so she might as well use it#but do i want the necromancy wand? do i respec my character to learn more necro spells thru magical secrets?#cuz as a bard ive learned to love playing support#and im playing a full on necromancer in another playthru anyway#and theres no warlock in this run so maybe i should learn rebuke and hadar thru magical secrets?#bard spells arent actually that great#i dont remember why i wanted to be the main spellcaster this run

Update: I actually hate being a rogue so I imported the same character (Iris) but changed a bit the palette and now she Is a shield Warrior from the Necropolis. I also like that faction more tbh
#also i can now say that Emmrich found her and named her Iris like his favorite flower#and now she is like his unofficial bodyguard#just a necromancer and his 2 children travelling#she was found near the Ingellvar family crypt so the mourn watchers thought the spirits of that family protected her and gaveher that surnam#my rook#iris ingellvar#still romancing lucanis lol#also increased difficulty to Nightmare to make it last longer i hope
