How do you think the show will address the Caitlin/Julien romance break up? DP said that Cait didn't like Julien as much as he liked her, so I think she could end up looking like she used him for his expertise. I just think she will look like a user, and I don't like that. Also, do you think she will be dating this new guy this year? I hope they give her a break in the romance department! Or somehow bring back Firestorm!

Well, I think DP is spot-on in saying that. I think Caitlin WAS using him without consciously realizing that’s what she was doing. What she was consciously doing was keeping her heart closed off. B/c not only had she had terrible experience in the romance department, but she also had these cold powers she was afraid would take over and she’d hurt someone she cared about. I think before she “died” in 3x18, she was starting to open herself up to the possibility of a future before then, but I think it was pretty obvious that Julian was falling hard from the moment she invited him to their Christmas party. While it may have seemed rushed, I do think I can buy him thinking he’s in love w/ her by the time 3x21 came around (or even 3x18).

As far as how they’ll address the “break-up” or just…distancing? I get the feeling, Julian will just have left Team Flash before the six months was up (like, early on), and Cisco brings Caitlin back to the team when the six months is ending. So it’s just a matter of them not being in the same place at the same time. I think, w/ months between interactions, Julian might just want to move past everything that happened by moving back to England and starting over again. By that point, Central City might just signify negativity for him and so he wants to get out. Plus, there’s also the fact that spoilers indicate that Caitlin won’t be the Killer Frost that sprung to life in the tail end of s3, she won’t be the same Caitlin we’ve come to know since the start of the series, b/c she’s embracing this other side of her. KF has a totally different personality, even while not killing or inflicting harm. W/ some people suggesting that KF is just the emotions and behaviors Caitlin has suppressed all these years, it makes sense that after what she’s experienced, she would embrace that side of her now and maybe even become the person she was always meant to be. As long as, you know, she doesn’t go turning on the team again. B/c that would be annoying to say the least.

While I think that’s what the show will end up doing (having Julian leave b/c of the trauma of everything that happened & losing Caitlin), I personally will be very annoyed by it. B/c Julian wasn’t JUST on Team Flash for Caitlin. Yes, she was a part of it, but he really found purpose being on this team and growing to care for everyone on it. He got to make an impact for the greater good in a way he hadn’t been able to as just a CSI. And they helped him conquer his demons. For him to just…abandon them after Caitlin and Barry leave just seems really selfish and OOC, imo. I rly hope they give him another reason besides all of it just being too much for him, but I can’t imagine what else it would be, so I likely will be disappointed. Le sigh.

As far as Caitlin having a new love interest? That’s been shut down by producers (thank GOD). I’d love if Ronnie could come back somehow, b/c it’s made clear he’s her one true love, just as Barry & Iris are for each other. But w/ Robbie a regular on another show and him not somehow being brought back to life for two full seasons, I’m doubting that will ever happen sadly. :/
