Blow the whistle because it's now official 👩🏾‍🎓!!!!! Finally picked up this expensive piece of paper today and now I can stop stealing my friend's and claiming it's mine aha. I thank God everyday for instilling in me hard work, dedication, and dreams.I now have something that no one can take away from me. To be honest, I miss college. I miss CSULB. I miss stressing out about homework, essays and projects. I miss losing sleep just so I can attain an education. Although I was originally a pre-Nursing major, I'm proud to have graduated with my BS degree in Public Health. I realized that with everything that is going on around the world, especially this country, the knowledge I gained has helped me tremendously. And that's when I realized... it is much bigger than just aiming for straight A's like I did. It is much bigger than these "President's Honor List" award certificates. You see, all I cared about was getting straight A's and obtaining that degree. But it has become personal. This is it. This is what it prepared me for. I've been drowning in my own thoughts lately and I've been inspired to make a difference. To be the change I want to see in this world. God blessed me to have the privilege to graduate from a very diverse university - it definitely exposed me to different groups of people and it was the best experience of my young adult life. And it breaks my heart that there are young adults such as myself out there who are fighting to have an education like I did and are now put on hold, if I may say, because "education is a privilege". I pray to God that I may live up to the day when education becomes a right, when health care becomes a right, when gender equality becomes a right and to exist with no walls becomes a right - and I'm talking worldwide.

Went to my old stomping grounds and visited my small amount of property on school campus. My Alumni brick. They had to abbreviate my degree because it’s such a long name to fit on a brick. So proud to be a 49er. I had many memories from this school and learned a lot. One of the better Cal State schools to attend. Today, I graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a mediation certificate. I want to thank God for placing everyone who helped me get to this point in my life. I had an amazing experience at an university that shaped me into the person I am today. From living off of coffee in the library to traveling the world while studying abroad. I will never forget the memories and friends I have made here. I can't wait to see what my next adventure has in store for me. Goodbye College and Hello Adulthood.
