#12 - Nox from Ghost Squad!

Nox's birthday is April 1st because that simply fits them. Why does it fit them, you ask? Well, let me see... They're outgoing, dramatic, very friendly, and simply cannot resist the alluring call of the prank war. Plus they're unaware of a few minor social concepts like 1) an inside voice 2) personal space 3) gender. They have a neon pink sidecut. You know how it is.

Ah, yes. And there's the story of how they got their name. CT-9732 was a shiny fresh from Kamino, deployed to the 217th, having made friends with half the other shinies and having thoroughly annoyed the rest. Their captain asked what their name was, because that's only polite, but our dear shiny had yet to have one! So they simply said that they wanted their name to be obnoxious. An already-very-tired captain said I think the closest we can manage is Nox, which they accepted because they thought it sounded cool.

Fortunately for Nox, they have latched onto an introvert that they now bring to all the best parties. Unfortunately for Tally, he is in fact very much of an introvert and would like them to cut that shit out for five minutes so he can catch his breath and maybe have a nap while he's at it. But they're off spraypainting a pinup girl on Captain Rex's locker so he's gotta go handle that.

(While we're at it with the parentheses, never let Nox drive. They can't steer for shit. Also they fall for girls really easily and like. Somehow they're even worse at driving when they're distracted by a lady laughing. Just about ran them headfirst into a streetlight one time.)

Happy 10th Anniversary to what has become my favorite MMO I've ever played.

I went into why and when I started playing here, but I figured I'd go more in-depth on my characters (and why Ki'to is my main) in this post since it's finally Rising time again.

Warning, long ass rambling post ahead

As I had mentioned, I started playing in late 2020 when a couple friends I played D&D with introduced me to it.

At that time, I created my first character Suna Amantius (Whom I still have for nostalgia, but don't play). Since au ra were free to play at that time, I made her a pink raen Arcanist. Yes, back when carbies gave every arcanist heart palpitations because they used aoe without asking. Thus why it took me a long time to pick it back up again.

We only played together a few times, but since I was so deep into Genshin, I ended up uninstalling since XIV's a massive space-hog.

When I picked it back up for the free 30 days after my other friend bought me the game & expacks, I ended up making a viera named Bunilla Chai over on Faerie since my little brother was playing over there at the time. She was a WHM, and another I have kept for nostalgia's sake. (I sadly don't have a screen for her, but she's cute. uwu)

I kinda main-hopped for a while after I got back into the game and actually subbed in September of '21. I played with Bunilla for a little while, but when the option to make male viera came out with EW, I ended up making one by the name of Kieran Vashanti (The surname being an homage to my old TERA character of the same name; Kieran actually went on to become Seire, and now Vikesh). I co-mained him alongside Orias, my longest-standing OC, who actually started out as an Elezen.

I also ended up making a lalafell since I saw how much fun my mother seemed to be having with her own. My dear little Sprout Arboris. <3

I rotated through this menagerie of mains for a while until I fanta'd and renamed Sprout. Her new name? Nox Vitae.

Yup. My horrible son was initially a sweet lalafell lady. xD Though he did go through one hell of a transition, from fem lala, to fem viera, to fem miqo, to masc viera (this was about when I had come out to my friends, so I embraced it in my main at the time as well. As such, he started out looking like a self-insert, but took on his own traits after a while. This is also why he is canonically trans ftm, as I see both viera transformations as canon for him. His fem form being what was canon in appearance for Vitae when he and U'nhea were sprouts)

(I did miss Sprout after a while though, so I remade her on Zalera later.)

Alongside Nox, who was my main for a while, I also had an alt on Siren I used to play with other friends, A'razi Tia. He was my first introduction to Monk, as well as catboys. To say I took maybe too many pictures admiring him is an understatement. Before Ki'to, he was my most gposed character. xD

We ended up moving data centers a little while after last rising, and then is when I created Y'rhala and Ki'to, whom I played as alts while I switched back to A'razi for most things.

Once I hit the CT ARs with Razi, my social anxiety got the best of me, and I decided to run an alt for a while and redo ARR. So I picked back up with Ki'to, whom I had made as a pretty ashen moon keeper simply to grab the moonfire outfit last year.

He wasn't meant to be more than an alt. Honestly, he looked like a fuckboy and it made me laugh when I logged him.

Look at this fuckin' nerd. I do miss his ashen kitty days, truth be told, but I can't fanta him now. He wouldn't look right any other way.

He looked like this until I reached post-ARR. I ended up using his ARR fanta to make him a self-insert, thus his baby-faced face 3 catboy era.

Thankfully, with the FC he joined, I ended up getting help powering through CT and finishing ARR fully. It was post-ARR that I got another fanta and gave him more defined features with face 4, and gave him the face he's known for today.

As I put it on my personal discord:

It wasn't too long after this that I made this blog and captured his adventures through HW and beyond. It was then that I committed to making him my main, as the story had sucked me in and he was my protagonist. I couldn't imagine any other in his place.

Though, the story isn't the only reason he's become my most robust OC ever, that came through story and interactions over here. I'm constantly thankful that I decided to make this blog when I did, because using it as an outlet for headcanons and getting asks from the friends I've made during his journey has made him such a well-rounded character with a clear personality and character arc.

I am very grateful for those of you I've met here, not only have you been some of the best people I've met through this game, but you've all helped to shape Ki'to in some small way. The man fights for love because he was made from love. <3

Rereading/watching BBCT to look for intriguing missed out bits and partially reviewing them now tbh part 4 featuring Carl and Arakune.

Carl's CT story has a bit in common with Jin's where they're both more nuanced in how they act in comparison with how they act in other's stories. Like they're more well behaved and understandable rather than just plain belligerent and/or insane. Not that he doesn't have his moments of belligerence or insanity but he does start off with more moments of sincere civility with others rather than barely concealed hostility.

There's something odd though where after he wins his match against Rachel she tells him what he need to help return Ada is a more powerful Nox Nyctores and points him to Jin and Noel's. Almost every Nox wouldn't help him barring Muchorin, and maybe Musashi if something needs slashing to separate Ada from Nirvana, wouldn't help him in the slightest in helping Ada so I don't know why Rachel tell him that's what he needs. Pointing him to Kokonoe would've been better because she probably can restore Ada wholly. Just a really odd choice on her part.

Arakune's is weirdly straightforward albeit insane with the dialogue option to actually have his lines be normal and not missing large chunks of it. It's just seeing behind the eyes of an insane monster that's operating on instinct and warped intelligence. Not really much trace of Roy here besides some grudging shade he throws at Kokonoe and asking Litchi for help when he's getting beat by Hakumen.

His story makes it clear that eating Ragna and his Azure Grimoire is also a bad idea but not for the obvious reasons. In the scenario where he does eat Ragna Hakumen calls Arakune a fool who's action would imprison them all in the Boundary. In the scenario where Arakune decides not to eat Ragna he says "I, who can't take it, am... this soul has a huge mass of heat and hence the fountain has exsiccated and continues to burn... the should... a horrible nightmare..." and then laughing confused. The former has an overt meaning, if unclear how this would happen, while the latter I think implies that Arakune can't "digest" someone with a strong enough soul without risk to himself. He doesn't seem to have this problem later when eating things like Nox Nyctores and their owners but he was also got upgraded by Relius later so idk. Got me thinking if what also makes Arakune a failed Black Beast is that he can't truly internalizes what he consumes in a meaningful manner but that's for a different day.

Disillusioned Chapter 30: A CT-7767 By Any Other Name

“What’s your number?” CT-7767 whispered once he was sure the coast was clear. The other men looked between him and the newcomer in similar confusion.

“Forget numbers,” The clone spat. “My name is Nox. What’s yours?”

“CT-7767,” He raised an eyebrow. “You aren’t from the 407th, then. We aren’t permitted names.”

“You are now. Krell’s dead.” 

The chained clones snapped their heads up at the words, faces stricken with shock and disbelief, but not grief. CT-7767 only pursed his lips at the news. 

“You have a new General now. And she’s better. If you choose to go back.” 

“Choose?” One of the others spoke up in confusion.

“We’re prisoners. Not deserters.”

“They called me Flix when we were cadets!”

“Shut up!” CT-7767 hissed at the others. “Don’t let them hear you.” Too much commotion and the guards would be back. Now it seemed obvious that this Nox couldn’t be one of them. He was stronger, better fed, didn’t know the rules, and lacked the scarring from the chains around his limbs and neck that the rest of them had. Then what is he doing here? 

“So who's injured?” Nox asked plainly. “I’m a medic, I can help.” 

CT-7767 shook his head. Either he really had gone mad, or Nox had. “You’re chained up with no supplies, you can’t treat us.” 

“Not for long.” The trooper was smiling. Smiling!

Monday Night Raw (5/29):

Trish Stratus cut a promo, claiming that she doesn't care what the fans think of her. She then introduced Zoey Stark, who thanked Trish. Becky Lynch came out and was attacked by both Trish and Zoey.

A couple of video packages aired on Raw. One featured recent NXT call-ups and former NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. The second featured Candice LeRae.

Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler defeated Bayley & Iyo Sky, Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, and Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi to become the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. This win marks Ronda & Shayna's first tag team championship reign as a team. It's Shayna's third WWE women's tag team title reign (previously holding the championship twice with Nia Jax), tying the record most individual reigns. For Ronda, this is her first tag team title win in her wrestling career, and her fourth championship total. With this win, Ronda becomes the 8th woman in WWE to complete the triple crown, having previously held both the Raw and SmackDown Women's championships. match length-11:40.

NXT (5/30):

Gigi Dolin defeated Jacy Jayne in a weaponized steel cage match. Gigi pinned Jacy after putting her through a table. match length-12:34.

New NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton came out to the ring to celebrate her victory. She announced that next week there would be a battle royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women's Championship. The celebration ended when Roxanne Perez, Lyra Valkyria, Thea Hail, and Fallon Henley attacked Tiffany and sent her fleeing out of the ring.

The mystery attacker was revealed to be Blair Davenport, who hit a Falcon Arrow on Dani Palmer before revealing herself to the crowd.

Cora Jade defeated Ivy Nile. Ava Raine attempted to attack Ivy, but got caught in a Dragon Sleeper. However, this distraction allowed Cora to hit a Rising Knee Strike into a Death Rider to win the match. match length-4:09.

AEW Dynamite (5/31):

TBS Champion Kris Statlander defeated Nyla Rose to retain the TBS Championship. After the match, Taya Valkyrie was shown watching the match backstage. match length-8:05.

Britt Baker & Adam Cole defeated Chris Jericho & Saraya. match length-13:13.

Friday Night SmackDown (6/2):

New Raw Women's Champion Asuka was a special guest on the Grayson Waller Effect. The segment was interrupted by Iyo Sky (who was once a member of the same stable as Asuka in Japan). They argued in the ring, before Bayley came out and said that a member of Damage CTRL would be winning Money in the Bank. Shotzi joined them in the ring, also stating that she would win the briefcase. Lacey Evans also joined them, followed by Zelina Vega. Asuka began to leave up the ramp, before being attacked by Bianca Belair, who began to brawl with Asuka.

Zelina Vega defeated Lacey Evans to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match. Zelina will be appearing in her second Money in the Bank ladder match, previously competing at the 2021 event. match length-2:49.

AEW Rampage (6/2):

NJPW Strong Women's Champion Willow Nightingale defeated Emi Sakura to retain the Strong Women's Championship. match length-8:00.

Other news & updates from last week:

While this has yet to be confirmed, it has been rumored that WWE had originally planned for Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox to reunite, likely as a part of the Damage CTRL split currently playing out on TV. However, Dakota's injury has almost certainly changed those plans.

Alexa Bliss announced on Tuesday, May 30 that she and her husband Ryan Cabrera are expecting their first child together.

And in another piece of exciting news, WWE superstars Emma and Riddick Moss (fka Madcap Moss) announced their engagement.

PWInsider reported on Tuesday, May 30 that Trish Stratus will still be regularly appearing on Raw going forward.

A report from Fightful Select on Tuesday confirmed the rumor that Mercedes Mone was originally slated to win the NJPW Strong Women's Championship at NJPW Resurgence on Sunday, May 21. It was noted that Mercedes herself actually called for the end of the match as well as the change in finish, once she realized that something was physically wrong.

In the same report, Fightful Select stated that NJPW is under the impression that the injury Mercedes sustained was a severe sprain without a break. However, those close to Mercedes have expressed concern that there may be a break, and that there was too much swelling to know for sure. They're hoping to have a clearer idea of what the injury is once the swelling goes down.

Alexa Bliss said in a recent interview that WWE has extended her contract. However, it is unknown exactly when Alexa's contract will be up. She stated during an interview in November of 2020 that she still had another three to three and a half years left in her contract, which would have put her at least through the end of 2023. However, it is unknown when her deal will be up now that WWE has extended her contract.

On the June 1 episode of Impact Wrestling, Trinity (fka Naomi) defeated Savannah Evans. Following her victory, Trinity called out the reigning Impact Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo, and issued a challenge for the title. The match was made official for Impact Slammiversary on July 15, 2023.

New WWE Women's Tag Team champion Ronda Rousey spoke with the New York Post after she and Shayna Baszler won the vacant titles on the Monday, May 29 episode of Raw. Ronda said that she and Shayna want to be fighting champions, noting that the lack of competition is the biggest problem. She said that they need to get WWE to care and to invest in the women's tag team division.

In the same interview, Ronda also talked about how she and Shayna had been pushing for WWE to let them wrestle together for years, even before the Women's Tag Team Titles existed.

Newly crowned WWE Women's Tag Team champion Shayna Baszler spoke to Peter Rosenberg on the Cheap Heat podcast. Shayna talked about how she and her fellow tag team champion Ronda Rousey had both previously asked to work as a tag team, and after WWE had repeatedly delayed those requests, Ronda finally put her foot down. According to Shayna, Ronda told WWE that she wanted this tag team run with Shayna, because Shayna is the reason that she started wrestling.

In the same interview, Shayna also mentioned that it's cool that Ronda pushed to work with her as a friend, because it shows that Ronda isn't just out for herself, something that Shayna noted is rare in show business.

It's also worth mentioning that Fightful Select reported in late March 2023 that the original WrestleMania creative plans for Ronda Rousey changed significantly. The original plan for Rousey's second run as SmackDown Women's Champion would have seen her hold the title until WrestleMania, where she would have faced 2023 women's Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley. However, Ronda pushed for a tag team run with Shayna, choosing that path over defending a world title at WrestleMania.

Liv Morgan has officially confirmed that the injury she sustained during the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match on the May 12 episode of SmackDown is a torn shoulder. Wishing her all the best in her recovery.

News broke this morning (Monday, June 5) that I felt was too exciting to save until next week's news roundup: WWE have announced a multi-year partnership with Twitch! This is one where the male and female counterparts ended up very different, a split to express two different and significant parts of the base Cowtale FSG!Papyrus.

Servire is absolute and unwavering obedience. He doesn’t ask questions, he rarely forms his own opinions. He waits, and he obeys. While he can “improvise” within certain parameters to get a job done, its often almost as though he doesn’t even think without permission.

Mutiny cannot stand to be idle. She must always have a cause and she will fight to the end for it. While at a glance this may not seem like a bad thing, she can get rather zealous about it. It is not uncommon for her to forget that people are more than just a resource.

Lacks any and all inhibitions. He just does whatever he wants when ever he wants. He is a firm believer in “too much is never enough”, and doesn’t much care how his actions might effect others.

It took weeks of work, but I’ve finally finished full-body refs for my Corrie Guard Captain- CT-2468, “Deca” 💕

I penned a very brief synopsis of his character last December but hadn’t taken the time to design or develop him until now.

I’ve had the pleasure of being able to RP with some friends and flesh out his character in preparation for upcoming fics. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

participated in the first Battle of Geonosis, in which he lost all four of his batchmates (Cinder, Nox, Howl, and Roam) and was badly traumatized

transferred to the Coruscant Guard as his permanent station, under Commander Thorn

was gravely injured by a Jedi-turned-clone-killer while working a homicide case: took a saber strike to the face and body that nearly killed him- was in the hospital and in rehab for his hip for six weeks before returning to active duty as Captain

immortalized the memory of his batch-mates in his armor paint: skull and candle flame on his right shoulder (Cinder and Nox), Loth-Wolf markings on his helmet (Howl), and hawk stripes on his Kama and breastplate (Roam)

Mostly does Detective work handling homicide and domestic violence cases- very bright and sunny personality, easygoing with an empathetic heart, willing to help however he can; observant and intelligent, streetwise, dedicated to the job
