La Web del Surrealismo Zoran Velimanovic (1964-)

Zoran Velimanovic nació en Cuprija en la antigua Yugoslavia. Entre 1988 y 1992 vivió en Niza, Francia y luego en Alemania, pero volvió a Belgrado, Serbia.

Estudió en la Facultad de Derecho y tocaba rock and roll. En ese momento pensó que la música sería el centro de su vida. Su primer cuadro lo compró un vecino y ese lienzo fue a parar a Monza, Italia. Cuando había creado diez pinturas, se acercó a una amiga de la familia, Olja Ivanjicki, y ella lo ayudó a hacer conexiones en el mundo del arte y algunas personas le ofrecieron un espacio de trabajo gratis. No tuvo apoyo familiar y fue el primer pintor de la familia. Rápidamente se dio cuenta de que no le interesaba en absoluto estudiar derecho y durante un tiempo trabajó como agente inmobiliario. Una sola venta le dio unos fondos para poder dedicarse a la pintura sin pensar en los problemas de la existencia cotidiana. Su primera exposición - actuación fue en el estudio Astakos, Belgrado, en 1997. En la inauguración de la exposición, actuó la banda This mortal coil .
