My beautiful curlfriend @def_curls posted this today & I 100% agree with this 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 I relate to this sentiment because with my clients I use what regimen & products is suited for each individual client. What works for 1 client, may or may not work for another. A lot of people ask me what products I use on my clients, & I can tell you all day what I used. But just understand that your curls more than likely won't get the same results. What I do as a #curlyhairstylist is create a customized regimen based on their hair needs. I help them figure out a healthy hair regimen based on their hair texture, density, porosity, & hair needs. Once those are addressed, that's when picking out products to help hydrate & enhance come into play. So what is #1 to me is the science behind the hair. Just remember that water 💧 is the key to the best healthy head of curls. Understanding those key elements are huge for me in teaching my curly hair clients how to embrace and love their hair. Getting my daughter Aleina all ready for back to school for tomorrow. She is going to be a sophomore this year & my oldest daughter Ari will be a senior 🌻🌻🌻 Man how time flies!!! Let's get your curls back 🖤🤘🌻 One of my OG clients, Raquel, was eager to see the glory of her natural curls. Raquel has been addicted to her sleek & flat ironed hair for years so today was her 1st peek at what they naturally are & have the potential to be. Excessive use of heat over time will cause more damage than good & will prevent your curls from ever popping. Keep in mind y'all that getting your curls fully back will take time, but the whole part of the #healthyhairjourney is to actually start doing the proper things to help them. And another big thing to do through the journey is to BE PATIENT. Raquel has been laying off heat which is absolutely key to help get her curls healthy, & with her new low maintenance haircolor, she won't have to deal with lightening her curls for a while which is great too. We are going to do Olaplex treatments every appointment from here on out to help get the spring back in her curls. I cut off a good bit of her length that has been weighing her curls down. I gave her an Olaplex treatment after her color to help rebuild her hair bonds & make them stronger. I used super hydrating products from Devacurl to give her lots of yummy moisture that her curls need to thrive.
