“abby, stop!!” you laugh, peeling her arms off you, trying to get back to baking the cake. you look at her, eyebrows furrowed but a small smile still present on your face. “stop eating my icing!! i won’t have enough for our cake!”

abby just chuckles and shakes her head as she looks back at you, a coy smile on her face, raising a brow at you. “as if i’m the only one who’s enjoying it!” she gets closer to you, one arm wrapping around your waist in attempt of pulling you closer to her, as the other one cups your chin, raising your face up at her. your eyes widen as you look at her, feeling your face heat up at the sudden action.

“look at you” she whispers as she gazes at your face, some icing still placed on your cheek. abby smirks as she raises her thumb up to your face, rubbing off the excess icing as she lets go off you and brings her thumb to her mouth, licking the leftover icing as she sends you a sly smirk.

your cheeks flush at her act as you tear your gaze away from her, trying to continue baking your cake but it seemed almost impossible with her in the same room. she always found a way to distract you from whatever you were doing, wanting nothing but your full blown attention. you let out a small huff, not sparing a glance at her as you continue mixing the batter.

“who’s the cook here, hmm? only i can try it until it’s finished. then maybe i’ll be ever so kind to let you try it.” abby chuckles as she gets closer to you, wrapping her buff arms around your waist from behind while she places her head on the crook of your neck. “what the wife says goes.” she says, placing small kisses on the side of your neck all the way up to your ear, making your eyes flutter shut, humming in satisfaction. you could feel her smile against your ear, her hair tickling your neck as you shiver from the closeness. “though i bet it won’t be as sweet as you.”

your eyes widen and you could feel your ears getting hot, feeling instantly embarrassed at what she just said. “abby! will you stop that!” abby just chuckles at your reaction and backs off you, leaning against the counter to get a better look at you. you stare back at her, cheeks rosy and brows furrowed, a small frown plastered on your face, though she could tell that you were keeping a smile from her.

she raises her arms up in self defense, “okay okay! i’ll stop i promise.” she chuckles, finally deciding to stop teasing you, though she couldn’t help herself at the sight of you. you send her an unconvinced look, brows raised. she shakes her head and looks down at you, grabbing your hand from the counter and raising it up to her lips, leaving a soft kiss as she pulls away, sending you a smile. “i promise.”

you shake your hand off her, not trusting a word she said, as you went back to mixing the eggs into the batter. “hmph, fine.” abby’s smile widens as she lets out a satisfied hum.

“thank you baby, you’re the best” she says, planting a kiss to your cheek as you roll your eyes, a small smile spreading on your face. “yeah yeah, now come here and help me with the icing.”

“yes ma’am” she obeys and goes around the kitchen counter, taking the small bowl that contained the pink icing into her hands. she stares at it for a bit as you look over at her questionably, wondering what she planned on doing. in less of a blink of an eye, you catch her swiping her finger across the bowl, getting a small amount of icing as she throws it at you playfully, some of it landing on your apron and on your face.

you stare at her with your mouth agape, slowly taking in the mess she just made. abby bursts into laughter as she hurriedly tries to run away from you, knowing that you were going to scold her.

“abigail anderson!! get back here!!”

nightmares chased abby in her sleep night after night, making it almost impossible for her to get an ounce of rest, thoughts running through her head every time she closed her eyes, not long enough until she was engulfed by the frightening feeling of waking up to yet another nightmare.

you were the only person who knew about her usual nightmares, making it clear to her that you were always there for her whenever she needed help, or when she just needed a shoulder to cry on. someone who could help her understand her feelings, buried deep inside of her under what felt like a heavy amount of emotions she couldn’t seem to control. her emotional state was a mess, and she only showed that side of her to you. she let herself become vulnerable around you, knowing that you would always accept that part of her although it was falling apart, wanting to be fixed.

and tonight was one of those restless nights, not being able to get a wink of sleep and constantly being tormented by nightmares, which always seemed to be the same ones that haunted her over and over.

abby neared your room, softly knocking on your door as she tried to make the least amount of noise possible. it was currently 2:36 am, only the soft light of the moon illuminated the dark hall, your room number in her view as she stared at the door, emotionless. she immediately felt guilty for disturbing you this late at night, not wanting to wake you up from your sleep, but her thoughts were interrupted when you opened the door, dressed in your pajamas as your sleepy eyes sent a soft expression towards abby.

you could already tell what was up, her body trembling and dark eye bags prominent as abby looks up briefly at you, slowly lowering her gaze as she lets out a shaky sigh. you bring your hand up to her cheek, delicately caressing as a way to comfort her. you lead her in, taking her hand into yours, fingers interlocked as you guide her to your medium sized bed.

not a single word was exchanged from the interaction, making abby feel a bit more at peace at not having to respond to any questions and just being able to bask in each other’s silence. you peel the duvet from off your bed, slowly sliding in and positioning yourself so that abby could lay beside you, resting her head on your chest, her body instantly relaxing from the warmth you radiated.

her body moved closer to you, legs intertwined as she wrapped her arms around your waist. you rested your head against hers, sighing as your fingers massaged her scalp, playing with the strands of her hair as you felt her breathing slow down.

you carefully move your head to look at abby, and you can notice her expression clearly. brows furrowed, her lush lashes still tainted by tears, the curve of her nose accentuated by the dim light that went through your window curtains. you could feel that her body was still tense, trying to rub her shoulders while you laid your head just above hers.

“relax baby, i’m here with you” you said as you place a kiss on her forehead, softly humming against her skin, feeling her body relaxing against yours. “it’s okay love, i’m here.”

“i don’t want to lose you too.” she finally speaks, voice trembling as her lips quivered. she tried so hard not to cry, but the more you reassured her and whispered sweet nothings to her, the more she felt like crying. it was surreal for her. to have someone who cared so much, especially someone like you.

your heart ached at her state, slowly getting worried as you shift in order to look at her better, moving your hands to cup her face, making sure to get rid of the tears that were forming in her eyes. she leaned against your touch, closing her eyes as more tears threatened to stain her cheeks.

“baby, i’ll always be here for you. i could never leave you, okay?” your tone soft and gentle as she slowly opens her eyes, staring at you for a few seconds as she sends you a small smile, getting closer to press a chaste kiss on your lips, pulling away and placing her head on the crook of your neck.

she slowly nods, feeling reassured at the thought of you always being there for her. you hear her sniffle, her nose rubbing against your neck which makes you let out a soft giggle at the ticklish feeling. abby catches this, proceeding to place soft kisses against your neck, making you hum contently.

your eyes meet hers, and oh does your heart swell. her eyes on you as she sends you a big warm smile, accentuating her dimple on her left side as she looks at you lovingly, as if you hung the stars up in the night sky. “what’s got you smiling like that all of a sudden, hmm?” you whisper, averting your gaze from her lips to her eyes.

“nothing baby, i just love you so so much.” she proceeds to press her lips on your cheek, leaving soft kisses on your skin as she slowly gets on top of you, her elbows propped on her sides, not wanting to crush you. you push her away softly to meet her eyes again, cupping her cheeks, abby leaning against your touch as she loops up at you through her eyelashes.

“i love you too baby, i’ll always be here for you.” you take her hand, offering a small kiss on the side of her palm, reciprocating the gentle act, making her heart melt almost immediately. you could feel one of her hands on the side of your hip, sliding its way under your shirt as she rubs soft circles across your skin.

“forever and always?” abby whispers as she leans her forehead against yours, awaiting for your answer. only the sound of the outside world could be heard in the background, while a comfortable silence was shared between the both of you.

“forever and always love.”

i remember when i was writing this and wanted it to be angst but it drastically changed to fluff 😔 ig i’m just a sucker for fluff 🤭🤭

“hey!! stop! oh you are so gonna regret that!” abby chuckles as she throws another snowball towards you, shaking off the excess snow on her jacket in the process.

you giggle as you try to get away from her, your arm resting in front of your face to avoid any snow from hitting your eyes.

abby turns around as she kneels down on the snow, her hands forming another snowball to continue the snow fight, when suddenly she hears you get hurt. eyes widening, she rushes towards you and places her gloved hands on your shoulders as she tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, checking if she had hurt you badly.

“oh my god babe are you okay? i’m so so sorry i didn’t mean to-“ she starts apologizing profusely as she hears a soft giggle erupt from your lips, uncovering your arm from your face as you laugh uncontrollably at her reaction. abby sighs as she frustratedly looks at you, her hands moving up to your face, gently squeezing your cheeks as you try to squirm away from her touch.

“babe!! not funny!! i seriously thought i hurt you!” she pouts, cheeks flushed as she stares at you, and you can’t seem to stop laughing at her cute reaction.

“m’sorry abs, but your face!! it was priceless!!” you bring your hand up to your eyes, wiping your tears as you sigh contently, smiling up at her. abby’s eyebrows narrow as her face contorts from a serious one to a soft one, her lips curling up to a small smile as she chuckles. seeing you smile so brightly made her realize how beautiful you were and how grateful she was to have you. to love someone so dearly. to call you hers.

she was undeniably in love with you.

you notice her smile turn into a smirk as you look up at her, slowly getting scared about what was about to happen next.

“oh yeah? you wanna see something even funnier?” abby smirks as she wraps her buff arms around your waist and lifts you up on her shoulder, you legs dangling as you screech at the sudden action.

“abigail anderson!! put me down!!” you try to wiggle out of her grip but she holds you tighter, preventing you from falling. that’s until you feel a rush of cold wind against your face as you find yourself on the snow, abby falling along with you as she laid on top of you.

you look at each other for a brief second, bursting into laughter as you laid comfortably on the snow. abby’s hand reaches out to your face, pushing away some strands of hair stuck to your forehead as she stares at you lovingly.

“you’re so beautiful y’know that?” she blurts as you look at her, cheeks flushing from the sudden compliment. she chuckles at your reaction, finding cute the effect she has on you.

“got you blushing real hard for me, haven’t i?” you look away from her, instantly feeling so small beneath her as you try to push her away.

“pfft, it’s definitely because of the cold!!” abby chuckles as she plants a soft kiss against the side of your lips, your face getting hotter by the minute.

“yeah, sure it is”

after a night of chasing each other around, getting messy and even ending up burning the cake, you found yourselves cuddling in the couch, only the faint sound of the tv could be heard in the background.

you shifted your body upwards, laying your head on top of abby's chest, in attempt of getting closer to her. abby had her arms draped over your figure as she caressed your waist, her fingers moving in a circular motion underneath the hem of your top.

you could feel your tired eyes itching to shut after hauling around the exhaustion of a crazy day, yawning as you felt abby shift her gaze from the tv to you, a small smile playing on her lips.

"you sleepy, baby?" she takes a strand of hair out of your face, her eyes lingering on yours. "i can take you to bed if ya want?" she says, her full attention directed towards you as you turn your body around, arms wrapping around her neck while you hum softly.

"mhm, i'm getting pretty sleepy already" your voice barely audible, making abby let out a small chuckle, taking in how adorable you looked all droopy eyed, the television light enhancing your features.

"okay angel, c'mere" abby said as she made her way out of the sofa, lending you a hand so you could sit up. she turned the tv off and turned back at you, chuckling as she saw you with your arms raised up, waiting to be carried. she wrapped her arms around your legs, while yours tangled on her neck, placing your head on the crook of her neck while abby adjusted herself, carrying you in bridal style all the way to your shared bedroom.

she softly placed your body on the mattress as you rolled over, placing your head on the headrest, waiting for abby to finish changing. she swiftly took off her grey hoodie, the small action exposing her lower back as her toned arms were in full display. you couldn't help but gawk at how good she looked.

taking in each move, your eyes still remained fixated on her figure while she took off her pants, leaving her in a tank top and some boxers. she slowly turned around, not long until she catches you staring at her, she sends you a sly smirk.

"liking what you see princess?" you just nod your head, too sleepy to even respond with a coherent sentence. abby took note of this as she approached you, sitting herself down next to you. "up" she said, signaling for you to raise your arms up as her fingers grazed over the end of your shirt, lifting it over your head as she helped you change into your pajamas.

her hands made their way to your bra, unclasping the material while she helped you take it off. her hands moved around your body so delicately, peppering soft kisses on your shoulders and whispering sweet nothings to you while you just hummed contently.

right after finishing with you, abby made her way to the bathroom. all you could hear was the faint sound of the faucet being turned on, accompanied by some rustling. abby came back with a damp towel on her hands, as she kneeled in front of you.

"c'mere baby, lemme clean you up" she placed her hand on the bottom of your chin, tilting your head upwards as she placed the warm towel on your face, cleaning up the leftover makeup that still remained as you let your eyelids flutter shut, sinking in the warm feeling.

"mhm.. all done" she says proudly as she presses a sweet kiss to your forehead, taking a hold of your hand as she guides you to the bathroom. you lean your body against the sink, grabbing your toothbrush and gently brushing it against your teeth as you leisurely combed your hair.

after finishing your nightly routine, you and abby make your way back to your shared bed, getting comfy under the covers as you move your body closer to her, being engulfed by none other than her strong arms, getting a hold of your waist and pulling you closer to her.

abby's tender kisses danced delicately along your jawline and all the way up to your ear, eliciting a soft giggle from you due to the ticklish sensation. your hands instinctively found her neck, drawing her nearer until your foreheads met in an intimate embrace, exchanging shy smiles like secrets shared in moonlit whispers.

"i love you" you whisper, those three words you yearned so much to tell her ever so often, rolling off your tongue so sweetly. you press your lips to her cheek, while your fingers drew tiny shapes on the nape of her neck, tangling along with her blonde locks.

abby averted her gaze from your lips to your eyes, sending you a soft expression as you continued to confess your love for her.

"thank you for always taking such good care of me." you smile, and abby couldn't help but feel her lips reciprocate, tugging upwards into a wide smile. she leaned even closer (if that were even possible) and rested her nose against yours, her eyelids fluttering open to look at you.

"i love you too baby." she whispered back, not loosing a single moment of eye contact with you. " .. and i'll always make sure you remember that." you could feel her determination marked on her words, everything she said always felt so heartfelt, intimate and full of meaning.

you could not express how lucky you were to have her. something about her tender care left you breathless, making you feel butterflies flutter in your stomach that were unable to get rid no matter how hard you tried. i guess that's just how it felt to be so deeply in love. the same feeling like a teenage boy falling in love for the first time, enveloped in the euphoria of being utterly and irrevocably enamored.
