Surprised there isn’t much about Cybertron Soundwave but then again 😌 there isn’t much about Cybertron in general because it’s. Cybertron… either way I do quite like Soundwave’s design in there at the least and his personality? While different I do welcome it too; reminds me of Cyberverse; and he has his buddy Sideways/Noisemaze!! Just two gals, being sole survivors of their home planet 😌

love the starscream - sideways dynamic in tf cybertron. starscream is so eldest sibling coded and despite hating on megatron he's pretty nice to thundercracker, who is the only other decepticon at the start of the show and undeniably The Little Bro of All Time. as a result screamer has pretty high tolerance for slightly annoying, very silly, and extremely endearing younger sibling behaviour. meanwhile sideways just happens to also fit the profile of a slightly annoying, very silly, and extremely endearing younger sibling figure, and arguably takes on tc's role after starscream betrays the decepticons (starscream doesn't even do anything especially malicious at that point, he just harmlessly traps megs, tc, and the decepticon boys dirty bubble style. it makes me think that he probably would have gone back for the group after he had finished things up on earth). i would also say sideways had plenty of opportunities to double cross starscream (and he's ultimately a third party with his own goals so it'd make sense if that did happen), but like, he chooses to rescue starscream after the guy blacks out from some insane fights (one of which was against primus himself) and ends up following screamer around like an orphaned duckling for the rest of the series. sure starscream is bossy and occasionally standoffish and scolds sideways with all the pomp and experience of someone who knows they have older sibling authority but he honestly doesn't even seem that mad when sideways does goof off during critical moments. they're so silly together and i wish we got more of them interacting. also when sideway's actual big bro soundwave makes an entrance he's somehow even sassier than starscream, which explains why (to me) sideways was ok hanging out with star even though he whined about it sometimes---he's just used to being the lil bro to an older sibling who has a lot of personality and is locked in
